Best way to spend a couple of hours in Belfast

We had a terrific guide in Stevie who made sure we were educated and shown both sides in relation to the conflicts. It was a great tour that was recommended to us and we will certainly recommend it to other travellers.

Brilliant tour

We did the World Famous Belfast Taxi Tour and I would highly recommend this tour of the city. Our guide was a very informative man called Barry who had an extensive knowledge of the history of Belfast. Barry took his time to explain the troubles and answered any questions we had, even took some pictures of us when we asked. Thanks for your time Barry.

This tour is a must-do if you're visiting Belfast. Our tour guide Mick was so knowledgable and gave such an authentic account of his own experiences during the Troubles whilst bringing us around all of the areas with the murals. Would recommend for any visitor to Belfast!

Informative Trip

We were a group of 10, visiting Belfast over three days and two nights. I booked the trip three days before hand, and communication was prompt, and informative. Without spoiling the surprise, we were all happy with the value and content of the excursion. It provides a snapshot of the Troubles from both sides of the Communities, and is fair and balanced in the Delivery.

We did the black cab tour today and enjoyed every minute of it,Joe was absolutely brilliant with the kids and explained everything so well to us all..I couldn't reccomend him enough we had laughs and learned so much 🙂 He was such a lovely gentleman to deal with and I will definitely be recommending to anyone I no travelling to Belfast 👌

Great informative tour

Absolutely fantastic

We came to Belfast last minute and was recommended to do the black taxi tour well to say it was the highlight of our trip is an understatement we absolutely loved it. Our driver Joel was fantastic and his knowledge was next to none what a gent he was throughout the whole time of the tour. Definitely recommend to all who will visit Belfast.

I loved this tour , our tour guide John.R was extremely informative and non-biased. He made the tour very interesting by supplying comparative images. I went with my mom and she loved it also . Really recommend this tour . Ps the cab smelled absolutely lovely, the cab was clean and welcoming as it was a cold, wet day in Belfast, which is a plus.

Very interesting

It was nice to have Gerard to drive us around and tell us the history of the city. He is very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. Highly recommend this tour. Gerard is a great tour guide!

Excellent tour. Our guide was Stevie. Highly recommend to get a better grasp of what went on here. We are glad we took the tour.

Interesting and enjoyable tour

We were picked up at our hotel by Joel. He took us on an extremely interesting tour and explained it in a way that was easy to understand. It was very interesting and enjoyable. My daughter is studying politics in college so she appreciated his unbiased views .

Disappointing

Utterly disappointing. We were collected in a Mercedes Benz people carrier when it was advertised as a black cab tour. Not a big deal but misleading. We were subjected to 800 years of Irish history at such a dizzying speed it was impossible to absorb the influx of information. We only made 3 stops and stayed at each for at least 30 minutes while we were shown a never ending supply of laminated images, also shown at such a rate it was almost impossible to catch a glimpse of each. There was a certain amount of fear mongering which I found most offensive. We were told it was “too dangerous” to go look at the murals in East Belfast. That our cameras would be taken from us by the local residents. It was implied that it was unsafe to take photographs of the murals we did see. At one point my brother was slapped on the arm for glancing out of the vehicles window when we were parked in a residential street. We came to the city because of our interest in its political history. This tour is a let down to Belfast, it’s past and future.

Excellent tour. Very educational and interesting. Stevey was very friendly, welcomed questions throughout the tour and encouraged us to take photos etc. Definitely worth doing and a highlight of our trip to Belfast!!

Do not miss!

We had Joe for our tour and he was absolutely fabulous, gave a very professional and mutual tour, whilst also making it very inspiring and heartfelt. We didn’t have much of an idea about the troubles going into the the tour and came out full of knowledge about the history of Belfast and feeling extremely moved to understand what people must’ve gone through. This tour is completely a must do for anyone travelling through Belfast!!

A Must-See to Understand Belfast

We picked up our taxi at the airport. In two hours, you learn what it was like to live in Blfast for the past forty years.

Our Black Cab tour of the murals and Peacewall in Belfast was well worth it. Our guide David was excellent - very knowledgeable and gave us an insightful overview of the "Troubles". Time well spent.

Black Taxi Tour

My daughter came to Belfast to get her masters degree at Queens University in International Politics. I think Brendan taught us more about international politics in 2 hours than she will learn in a year at Queens. He was very fair to all views and informative. I am hard of hearing and can't understand or hear anything on most tours. Brenden spoke clearly and loudly and I got almost every word which is out of the norm for me. If you want to know how Belfast works you need to do this tour!

Very Informative

Sean Mc was a great guide around the murals. I learned a lot and realized I really didn't know much about some of the issues in Belfast. It's completely eye opening tour and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

Understanding the Wall

Thanks so much to Brendan for showing us his city and talking so honestly and with such fairness about the Troubles. It was humbling to hear him speak about the terrible times that Belfast had seen, with no hint of bitterness and no partisanship either. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming, but didn’t try either to sanitise Belfast’s painful past, or to sensationalise it. It was the best thing we could have done on a rainy Friday afternoon, but it would have been just as worthwhile in fair weather. We enjoyed meeting him, and wish him well for his future tours.
