Two bus trips on one ticket

Great tour. Tickets cover two different bus tours… one around the city and one around the wider area. Bus drivers were excellent, courteous and helpful. We learned a lot about bath in just 2 bus trips. Downsides - watch out for low-hanging tree branches if seated on the upper level LHS. Watch for the fact that one route has clearly marked “TootBus” double-decker's and the other just marked “”Sightseeing tours” At first we thought these were two different companies and nearly missed the second one by waiting for the “TootBus”. The driver eventually asked what we were waiting on…We told him that we had already bought tickets for “TootBus”. He said, “That’s me…come on board”.

Bus didn’t stop to let us get off

A lovely day for weather, and two enjoyable tours, which then ended so badly when our Skyline tour which left stop B at about 2:45 Monday 17/6 sailed past 2 stops with us unable to get off. We are 2 pensioners, I walk unsteadily with a stick, We were upstairs, with no ‘Stop’ push button on our row of seats or the rows in front. The City tour earlier had halted at every stop, and as there were notices instructing passengers to remain seated while the bus is moving we waited for it to halt - but it sailed by D, and then past E without slowing. We had to stumble down the stairs on the fairly fast-moving bus on this out-of-city part of the route, to call out to ask the driver to stop. The driver advised that the stops are only on request - but there are NO notices displayed on the bus to that affect, nothing on the handout map, and no STOP buttons within reach from our seats (mid-way between the stairs and the rear) The driver said there had been numerous complaints from customers about this, which drivers had passed on to the management but no action. We ended up stuck half a mile beyond the stop we needed, unable to walk back, and not enough time to stay with the bus and go around the whole route again. I was so lucky not to have fallen - you need to address this Bath Buses with clear signs and more buttons before you have a serious health and safety incident!

Excellent tour of Bath with informative audio guide. Not cheap but good value for money and you could stay on bus for as long as you like.

Interesting & informative

Both the City & Skyline tours are very interesting & informative. You also get some great views of the City on the Skyline tour.

Excellent value

We thoroughly enjoyed the tours that were available and having a commentary available, which co-ordinated with the appropriate locations made the tour more enjoyable. The two available tours made the price of the tickets extremely good value for money. Overall I would recommend taking the tours just to understand more of the history of the city and the location of various areas of interest. If staying more than 1 day we would suggest taking the tours on day 1 and using day 2 to visit points of interest.

Bath City Bus Tour

Worth the money to get a tour of the city along with its history. The hop on and off option made moving around the city easy. The additional Skylight tour gave an opportunity to see the city for a different aspect.

Views and history of Bath

If you are on a short stay in a beautifully rich city such as Bath, then it’s a must to get as much of the history as possible on one of the open top buses. You can then select were you want to explore further.

Overpriced

Very very overpriced for what it is, especially when the bus isn't actually that new or clean. The audio sticker stated Japanese, turned out to be Chinese, with no Japanese.

Hop on with a full wallet. Hop off substantially lighter

We bought a ticket for 2 adults and 2 children. I almost fell back out onto the pavement when asked for £70. I was expecting around half that. Let's face it, the tours aren't long. The bus rides were good however, with informative and good audio commentary.

Great tour!

Great tour! The route was interesting, despite the traffic which we didn’t mind at all. The tour was informative, and Bath is a beautiful place.

We did the main city route. Learned a lot about the city and its history. It was chucking it down, but we were kept dry, and had a great view.

An upsetting experience!

We purchased tickets our third day in Bath, having walked the city sites well the day before. So we were only interested in the Skyline Tour. That part was fine, though we quickly moved from the left hand side of the upper level to the right hand side, given numerous and constant low branches that made it feel a bit perilous. The part that I was upset with was getting off the bus. I was with my husband, and the driver had stopped and let off about 6 people, including myself. Then he abruptly closed the doors in my husband's face and wouldn't allow him and the people behind him to get off the bus, saying that wasn't a real stop. I shouted once I realized what was happening for it to stop and let him off or me on, but the driver just continued on. This 64-year-old woman had to chase the bus for about six blocks until I caught up with them at the next stop, since neither of us knew the city well. When I attempted to talk with the driver once my husband and I were reunited, the driver just shrugged it off and seemed uninterested in the chaos and distress his actions had caused, not even apologizing.

Great way to view the city.

The sun was shining and the day was warm. Perfect conditions for jumping aboard. Both the city tour and the skyline tour were great. Found out so much more about Bath and its history. Buses came regularly so we hopped off at the Royal Crescent for a picnic then back on again to get to the train station. A great way to view the city.

Interesting historical insights

Helpful and friendly driver and the commentary gave some interesting insight into historical Bath and its past inhabitants. It was a relaxing journey and gave our feet a break after walking around the Roman Baths!

Bath Skyline Tour with Susan is brilliant.

Susan is very kind and helpful. She allows you to take a seat before starting out again. This is important for the elderly like me who travel alone and must be safe and avoid falls and accidents.

Great way to explore the city and its outskirts

A wonderful way to explore the city. You can take the bus as often as you like, and there are two different routes. Also enjoyed the interesting and entertaining audio guide a lot!

A tour of Bath with good less able friends

A much better way to seeing all the sites of Bath with less able friends on a fine day. On board board commentary was very clear. Despite road closures for comms upgrade all went well. One slight down point was that either the earphones were faulty or socket was. Never mind shared with my wife sat by my side!

Brilliant service all round

It was so handy being able to get on and off anywhere along the two routes and even go round again if you wanted! The commentary was very informative and all the drivers were very friendly and kind.

Love hop on tours

Learned so much. Tour was worth every penny and more. We were able to identify new things we wanted to go back a see more closely

Disappointing experience - no Skyline buses.

On a Saturday in April, we waited 40 minutes at 2 stops for the Skyline tour. No buses showed up, although a competitor bus company had 2 that showed up during the time we waited. We finally decided to take the City tour and asked the driver if Skyline tours were running that day. He was rude, and didn’t answer the question other than to say that we were not standing in the right spot. We had the map, and also, stood exactly where we were told by another driver. It was a very frustrating experience and we lost a lot of time waiting for a bus that never came. In the time period we waited, there should have been 2. We enjoyed the commentary on the city bus tour, but purchased the tickets specifically for the Skyline tour. We ended up walking to most sites, but really wanted more of a tour experience to provide an overview of the city. Very disappointed with the customer service provided by the driver and the lack of bus service. Bath is a small city that can be walked. If able to walk, the free Bath walk offered by the city is great. City Siteseeing buses had more in operation especially for the Skyline route.

Great for a day trip

It was very worthwhile especially for a day trip to Bath. The drivers where pleasant and helpful. The routes where we'll laid out, for the skyline tour make sure you have a hate and scaff as when the wind blows through can be very cold up top. The only downside at this stage if the full functions of the toot app aren't available to Android users.

A good choice whilst in Bath

Excellent introduction to the city and what to do

Ok so i was looking for something a bit less ordinary for my wife’s birthday and chose a weekend break in Bath Your bus tours provided a really great way to get a look at what was going on, and a feel for the place, and the ‘scenic’ one included in the overall price gave a great view of the place and the surrounding area

Excellent way to see the city ,from all aspects .Took both tours and this enabled us to see everything and then revisit on second journey.Took many great photos from the top deck.Friendly and helpful drivers and good value for money.Would recommend if you’re going to the city.( if there’s a possibility of a shower take a tissue to wipe the seat dry)!

Loved it - we spent all day on these, hopping on and off at various sites.

We did both tours in one day and loved it. The audio was clear and interesting. Buses clean and well maintained. Loved the useful app showing how to get to each stop and a live update of the bus location. A couple of things to watch out for: We nearly missed the Skyline tour bus as it had different branding and no mention of Tootbus, unlike the City tour bus. Also the driver nearly drove off without letting us off as people were coming slowly up the stairs and we couldn't get down. But definitely recommend!

Daylight robbery indeed!

£43 for 2 tickets (one concession). A tour around Bath that lasts approximately 20 minutes doing a simple circle loop of the city. Bath has a few hills but it’s a very small walkable city. There is no justification for the cost of this tour. Little wonder that the buses were empty!!! The tour includes an explanation of the expression ‘daylight robbery’ . Indeed.

Good tour of bath. Saw the main tourist spots. Not the cheapest experience but worth it. Bus was clean and comfortable. Commentary informative.

Great Value

Great value, saw all of the site and the audio commentary is excellent. The city tour explained a lot about the history of Bath through the ages.

Not Worth It

I waited by one of the hop on spots for the city tour and the bus drove right past without even a pause. I had been waiting awhile at that point and decided it wasn’t worth waiting anymore. Gave up and walked back to my hotel. In Bath, all the spots are fairly close and just walkable. The skyline tour was better on the bus but the weather was terrible and the bus wasn’t stopping.

Bath was outstanding. So was the Tour.

Bath has many natural and man made advantages but they still have to be utilised . This tour gave you a lovely introduction without swamping you with information or distracting from what was on view. Professional. Skillfully presented. Even humorous at times and with plenty of options to cover all bases.

You were never swamped or distracted by too much information but allowed to take it all in, make your choices and enjoy the experience.

Short break

Very good service. Bus clean and on time. Staff very polite and courteous. The commentary was excellent. Liked the fact you could use the ticket for two days. If was easy to book and the price was fair. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Beautiful City views especially on a sunny day!

Lovely day out in Bath. Enjoyed the Tootbus service. Interesting history. Explored both City and Skyline views. A walk along River Avon super nice. Shopping centre was great!

Nice option for rainy days

Good option on the rainy days if you want to show your family around. Audio guide in few different languages so my in-laws could learn a lot about Bath in Spanish. Helpful drivers, nice views. Good option also for people who cannot walk too much due to age, health etc.

Definitely worth using!

The Tootbus is good value for money and gives a very interesting overview of the city. The validity of the ticket lasts until the day after purchase. It allows you to ride on both open top buses; one explores the inner city and the other focuses on the outlying areas. The audio commentary give’s an informative amount of information on both trips. Well worth using!

Bath bus tour in October

Tickets were easy to purchase online and slightly cheaper than buying in person. No issues with presenting them to the driver, were able to hop on and off a couple of times without any issues. Good commentary, good tour. Very smooth. Be wary though, very similar to the City-sightseeing tour and it’s easy to get on the wrong bus!

A great way to see Bath in a limited amount of time and having earphones to listen to the audio of the tour made you fully informed about the history of this beautiful place.

Driver ignored us driving too fast

I would not recommend this company its very expensive for the service you get. My children and I waited for bus next to Priory Park we waved when the bus came. The bus was not full the driver saw us but he was driving too fast so he missed us. I had to get a taxi in the end as my kids got cold and hungry. I did complain to the company a month ago they are asking questions that I gave to them in the first feedback communication I sent them very bad experience.

A Must Do

Whole experience from staff interaction through to commentary while on the bus (history and humour) was fantastic.
