Picasso & Gothic Quarter Walking Tour with Skip the Line Ticket

Irritated

We had paper confirmation for the 6th however the museum did not have us down for the 6th. We had to change our entire itinerary because they had us for the 8th

Frustrated with arrangements

This is the first tour of many we booked with Viator that was disappointing. Not sure how it happened but we were booked with a French guide. When I called to change to English (we do not speak French) we were told we could not change. I asked to meet at the museum to get our entrance tickets because we did not want to take a tour in a language we would not understand, we were told that is not possible. So we wasted our money on this tour and bought our own museum tickets. This has been our only issue with the tours we booked.

Must see!!

Loved this museum of Picasso’s work from childhood through his last paintings. Our guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand!

Wonderful experience

Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and made sure the group stayed together. Walking around the gothic district and through the Picasso museum were wonderful because she shared so much of her knowledge.

Did not make the tour

We never made it to this tour. We tried to change the date but had no luck. I’m sorry we missed it. I was told to change the date to go to the visitor area when we arrived. There was no availability.

Danielle was an excellent guide. We never would have had time to learn as much about Picasso’s time in Barcelona and connection with the city on our own. Her tour of the museum was thorough and interesting. We got a real sense of his evolution as an artist and the significance of some of his paintings. We loved walking through the old city. My husband even danced a little swing in the square with our guide. Thanks for a memorable tour.

Friendly. Informative. Getting. Whine the placards. Our guide helped us see Barcelona through picasso’s eyes as a youth and gave us insights in the young budding artist’s process.

Excellent tour guide for Picasso museum tour !

The tour of the Picasso Museum was excellent, but most importantly it was due to the incredible tour guide that we had — Olga Escribano, who was superb. She was very knowledgeable, very warm and friendly, and shared very interesting and good stories about Picasso and his life with us. Thank you !!

Sylvia a was an excellent guide! She was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about Picasso and the Gothic area of Barcelona. She interacted and conversed easily with each of us in our small group of seven of varied ages and backgrounds throughout our time together. We learned so much!

Can't do one without the other!

We enjoyed this walking tour very much! We learned so much about Picasso from this tour guide it was enough to reteach my family when I get home. I liked we really focused on some of the big paintings and his phases of art over his lifetime. The walking tour really did aid in the full alluring experience of the museum and the paintings. Understanding were he came from aided in the indepth knowledge given about his paintings. The walking tour and museum go hand in hand and was a great experience. I liked we didn't stop at every painting and talk, we really hit the highlights of the museum.

Worth the tour!

Our tour guide was spectacular! It was only me and my partner so we ended up with a private tour. Our guide helped make Picasso accessible and was so passionate about helping us understand his life and the rich history of Barcelona and Catalunya!

Mark our tour guy was awesome, he was very knowledgeable and we really enjoyed the tour with him. If you visit Barcelona I highly recommend this tour. When traveling pay attention to the small tapas bars and take notes. Most of the cool activities are in this part of Barcelona.

Zero customer service

Had to drop the tour for unforeseen circumstances, zero sense of customer service, I asked for museum tickets so I can use on my own later during the day, they refused to send for unconvincing reason, orgnised theft undler the umbrella of rules !

Picasso on display

Excellent guide who was passionate about her city (Barcelona) and the tremendous influence still felt by the fleeting presence of Pablo Picasso. The progression of his styles was on full display at his museum in the Gothic Quarter, and she knew every inch of the museum. A great, informative and enjoyable tour on Nov. 18, 2023.

Great Experience for Families

Learning about 4Cats, would have walked passed and not known the history of the restaurant. Having a guide in the museum was great, able to ask questions, and information seemed more interesting as it was being told to us vs just reading it or listening to a prerecording.

The tour was just right. Great overview of the Gothic area while we walked. The Picasso museum was a fascinating look at his formative years so distinct from his eventual signature style. Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and energetic. Highly recommend going with a guide vs going alone.

Everything about this tour was wonderful. I’ve forgotten my tour guide name,but she has a background in art and was thoroughly knowledgeable on the history and art of Picasso. Stopping buy the bar where he frequented with friends and fellow artists was fascinating.

TripAdvisor did not complete our reservation.

This review is given to the tour, it is given to TripAdvisor. We booked this tour through TripAdvisor weeks before our vacation to Barcelona. When we went to the meting point for the tour, we were told that TripAdvisor never sent our reservation the local tour company, therefore we cannot participate the tour. The lesson learned is that some online agent, e.g. TripAdvisor, cannot be fully trusted. It is better to book through local tour company directly. -Rick

Really interesting tour with a brilliant guide. I understand Picasso the artist much more than I did before and therefore I can appreciate his work more than I did.

Great experience

The walk to the museum through the tiny streets brought the era of Picassos early years to life. My favorite part was the stop at the 4 Cats Cafe bar where Picasso used to hang out - we went back later and hung out ourselves. Our guide was the best, very knowledgeable and steered us through the hundreds of paintings and various pictures to the key works and the stories behind them. One of the most knowledgeable, competent and considerate guides we’ve known!

Quick and entertaining way to experience Gothic quarter and early Picassoy

With so many narrow alleys and rich history this tour saves you a lot of time to understand and enjoy the Gothic neighborhood of Barcelona. Skipping the entrance line to the Picasso in the company of enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide well worth the price. With stories and humor our guide did a wonderful job. Highly recommended.

This tour was exceptional, in no small part due to our guide Jordi. He was not only informative but actually excited to share his love of his city and all his knowledge of Picasso the man and the artist. Highly recommend the tour and hopefully you will get a guide as passionate.

A great tour with this thorough information on Picasso, his time in Barcelona and on the Gothic quarter in Barcelona.

DO NOT BOOK!!

If I could give a zero, I would but that is not an option. This tour company is TRASH!!!! First, they do not wait at all. My friends and me got to the end point next to the Picasso Museum, instead of the meeting point. We asked for these options; a refund, a later same-day tour, and for the tickets to the museum that was included in our the tour. They denied all our requests. This to me makes no sense because if you cannot give the full refund, but we're at the museum (the main attraction of the tour), I'm not understanding why not send the tickets to us. In any case, I think any other tour company is best. This place is very rigid and over priced for what they offer. P.S. The admission to the Picasso museum is FREE on Thursdays after 6pm.

Do not book this tour. Our plans had to change because the airline changed our flight We changed the day of the tour months before the tour but when we arrived the tour we had booked wasn’t available on the only day we had free No refunds are available changes happen which our out of your control when on a trip and you need flexibility

Experiencing the Picasso museum was extraordinary and what made it that much more special was our guide Olga. She was not only informative and friendly but so passionate about Picasso and Barcelona. She was super helpful about directions and guiding us towards other sites to see. Highly recommend her and this tour!

I found the guide to have been very knowledgeable about Picasso, his life and his art. He explained the artwork in an interesting way and pointed out things that I would not have noticed. His good sense of humor added to his presentation. I can say that I did learn quite a bit and enjoyed doing so!

A favourite tour in Barcelona

I was worried that the meeting point would be hard to find based on prior reviews. It was not. There are hiuge red information signs in the square and it is clear you need to take the stairs or escalator downstairs. All of the tours I have done in Spain leave exactly on time - this one gave 5 minutes grace. The guide was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to try and explain and make sure people understood. He was clearly passionate about his subject. I would recommend for anyone who is interested in learning about Picasso and his art.

Olga Escribano was an amazing and very talented tour guide. We learned so much from her! We would recommend taking a tour with her and listening to her interpretation of the art and rendition of history.

Memorable Picasso Tour

This was a wonderful tour! we truly enjoyed the easy paced walk and learned so much. The highlight was finding the "The 4 Cats" bar. We went back after the tour and had a memorable dinner and made new friends there. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR!

The perfect Picasso Tour

George was an incredibly knowledgeable guide. He really put the life, locations and times of Picasso into context of what we were to see later in the Picasso museum. The tour around the gothic quarter was the perfect precursor to the museum, then seeing the works within the museum with George expanding on the stories from our outdoor tour. I highly recommend this tour!

Very Interesting & Educational Picasso Tour

This was a wonderful tour and we learned a lot about Picasso's early life, which I did not know. Thanks to our tour guide for this great experience. I'm sorry that I've forgotten her name, but her English was excellent. I would highly recommend this tour, even if you only have a passing interest in Picasso's work. My wife and grand-daughter went back to have lunch at the 4Cats cafe, where Picasso hung out as a young man.
