Mosaic class for children in Barcelona

Awesome mosaic hands-on experience.

Sophia was so friendly and explained everything in a simple manner. She went the extra mile, and when my youngest child was done ahead of everyone, she gave her a magnet to design.

Poor instruction, but fine outcome…

Overall, our kids liked the class and didn’t pick up on the disorganization and lack of instruction we received. So, in that regard it was okay, but both my husband and I thought they were very disorganized (it took about 15 minutes of our precious 1-hour) to get us settled in the right place and with our equipment. Our mosaics were personalized and fun, but the instruction was minimal until we started and then we felt criticized instead of instructed and received contradictory feedback from the instructors hovering around observing our work. Our kids now understand the work and precision that goes into a mosaic, though!

Was well set up and easy to create something to take home.

Nice take home creation post Gaudi introduction. We were fine, but good to know that they grout our work and then we had to return to pick it up mid day.

Simple

It’s ok, not much direction, also plan on returning to pickup your artwork. You don’t get the whole experience, they grout it for you instead of learning that part. An ok experience.

They went Beyond

we had an enjoyable time. the ladies were nice. they even brought our mosaics to our hotel because we couldn't get back there due to being in a tour. That gets 5 stars!!!. 1 hour just isn't long enough to complete.

Great activity for kids

Making our own perfect mosaic souvenirs was fantastic! And the kids loved it! Our teacher was very patient and encouraging with the children. She was the one that made the whole activity worth it!

When we showed up everything was set up and ready for our kids to participate. The ladies there explained everything and were very helpful with our kids.

1 hour class good for 2-5 year olds

We had an amazing class, we did the 1 hour class, which was perfect for 2.5 year old twins and tired parents. Sophia and lotza were the guides of the class and helped us so much with our kids so that the adults could enjoy the process, too. My kids are so proud of their artwork, they took the pieces to bed with them tonight and are sleeping with them! Of note: the kids stuff with just glue you bring home the same day, anything that is actually ceramic with grouting needs to be picked up later.

Great for 4 Year Old!

This was a fantastic experience! We came in on a Saturday for the morning session and had the room to ourselves. We were 3 adults (mom, dad, grandma) and 1 child (4 years old). Our son LOVED the experience. It was such a great thing to do to break up the regular sightseeing we had been doing. In addition, it was a fantastic souvenir to bring home. Loved it!

Brilliant fun for families

Fantastic experience for everyone. Young children loved visiting Park Guell and then making their own mosaic art. All staff were attentive and patient. Our 4 year old loved it and could have stayed there all day. Brilliant fun, memories, and keepsakes from our trip. Highly recommend.

An activity that could have been bought out of a box

I gave this a lower score only because I felt I could have done this activity, out of a box (I.e. I sat next to my kid and did the whole activity with her , sticking little tiles on). Because of this, would suggest to skip

A great hands on experience!

My 8 year old son and I had such a fun time creating our mosaics! Maria was incredibly helpful and patient with us. After having been to Park Guell and seeing all the mosaic, it was so cool to have the opportunity to create our own and have a cherished keepsake to bring home from our trip. I only wish I would have had time to go again and create more!

Great Class for the Entire Family

We took the one-hour class for children and parents and really enjoyed the experience. The team at Mosaiccos was friendly and helpful. We laughed with them throughout the class and had great fun making mosaic-topped boxes and a mirror. Our kids, both 5 years old, were so excited that they made multiple items. We learned about Gaudi's techniques and finished with some nice items to bring home that captured a bit of the Gaudi style.

Great Class for the Whole Family

It is a terrific experience for our kids (5 years old) and adults. We took the one-hour class and made tile-topped boxes and a mirror. The instructors were amiable and helpful, showing us step-by-step how Gaudi and others did his mosaic work throughout the city. We really enjoyed the class and laughed with the Mosaico team he entire time. Highly recommend for families and even adults (the adult class is a little longer and more in-depth).

Muy buena

Came here with my son we are from London and it was so fun very different and enjoyable we both made something so I feel much more connected to Barcelona doing this than if I purchased something already made will be collecting my finished product on Monday as it needs to be filled in the cracks which isn’t done by us and we got help the whole time we were there so everyone was sooo nice !

Awesome class!

We had such a good time at the class! We cut our own tile, and had lots of help from the people who worked there. It was such a cool experience to do this so close to all the Gaudi work. Thanks!

Fun art experience for our young children

Our kids, 6 and 4 years old really enjoyed this experience. They wanted to go back and do it again. Thank you for the unique break from exploring the city!

A perfect couple of hours!

I went to a class with my 8 year old daughter for two hours and we both loved it! There were several teachers so we were always helped and encouraged. All the ladies were really nice and spoke English so we could easily understand. I would love to go back and do many more projects! Thank you!

Excellent souvenir/gift

This is a great way to be creative and have a memento from your trip. My family did the precut tiles for our younger children and the tile cutting for our older children. We definitely recommend.

Great Family-Friendly Experience

I went to a mosaics class here with my kids, ages 3 and 6. We spent one hour working on our projects. For the kids, they have precut plastic squares that the kids glue onto their projects. The grownups got to break real ceramic tiles and then the professionals grouted our work. My kids made mini photo frames. My older one finished early so they let him work on a box as well. I made a mini frame too. I enjoyed the experience so much that I went back for 2hrs on my own to make a larger project. This was a great family activity especially after seeing some of the Gaudi sites. All of us enjoyed and have some cool handmade souvenirs to bring home.

A great, family-friendly, hands-on experience just steps away from the Museu Picasso

This was a great activity to do with my children, 8 and 5, that would give them hands-on experience with something that they would see throughout the rest of their trip to Europe, mosaics. The activities they had were appropriate for their ages and abilities and they had a lot of fun making them. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this experience.

Enjoyable Mosaic Family Activity

Very friendly place with international personnel. Anna from Austria received us and was very friendly to the kids and taught them how to do the mosaic artwork. My kids soo loved it and enjoyed that they wanted to go back there even after we left the country 🤦🏻‍♂️😃

Amazing family experience to appreciate Barcelonas mosaic art!

We visited Mosaiccos as a large group of relatives ranging in ages from 4 yrs old to adults with teens in the middle. I thought it would be a challenge to find something that suited everyone but every individual found something to make that they truly loved. We did the two hour class and it absolutely flew by. The assistants sat with the little kids and assisted them one on one while we worked on our projects and that was so helpful and the kids had a blast. I already placed a picture of all of us in Barcelona in the beautiful mosaic picture frame that my husband made!

Great Experience!

This was our second visit to Barcelona and Mosaiccos. The course was booked somewhat on short notice. The staff as always were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. The kids had a very enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend for anyone with kids.

We loved our mosaic experience! our 5 (almost 6 year old) really enjoyed it. We just wish we booked a longer class (one hour was good, but two would have been better).

So much fun and a great alternative!

We loved this. The store/instructors were kind and patient and we not only did this activity but had something to bring home from Barcelona. It was only an hour so not a big commitment but one of our favorite things we did and we would highly recommend.

Be like Gaudi

Our 2 kids got really amazed by the 2 hour workshop on how to create their own mosaic. Amazing experience. Thet were shown how to cur, glue and form either motives or free designs. They were placed on ready made wooden figures and the kids had to decorate them. At the end, we gave our creations to the beloved passionate woman and along with her students- artists they covered the gaps with a powder and we took them the day after. They could also be ready in some hours but we preferred next day. All things considered, I strongly believe it's a great and innovative activity for anyone to try a traditional technique. Why not!!!!

Worthy Experience for kids

It was a great experience for my toddler who just turned 3. He got to enjoy some arts and crafts, bonus I got a souvenir handmade by my child in Barcelona. You had multiple objects you could pick to make such as a coaster, treasure box, or picture frame. The mosaic pieces were broken up nicely and there were plenty of colors to pick from. Plus it was located in a very cute neighborhood, so the walk there was very enjoyable.

Great experience for young kids! Good way to discover barcelona and its art! Teachers are very kind, gentle. Kids loved it! They want already to go back!

Lovely learning day in Torre Bellesguard

Thank you, Torre Bellesguard, for planning and creating such a lovely learning day for our Y3 (7-8 -year-old) students! We got an interesting tour in English. The guide told the stories of the buildings and the environment at the appropriate age level engaging the children with lots of questions. The students did a mosaic workshop with plastic, shiny mosaic pieces which were easy and safe to handle. There were lots of instructors to support the learning and reflect on the process with the children. Everyone got to bring their piece home when we left. We enjoyed the flexible schedule and the easy-going ambiance. Between these two activities, we teachers added a snack time, a lunchtime, a storytime involving the castle's stories and a drawing time, a tiny gallery walk, and a drawing time in the schedule, making it a five-hour visit. Thank you!

Memories were made in Barcelona at Mosaiccos!

Besides the usual tourist spots, this was one of the highlights of our trip to Barcelona. Centrally located near the Gothic District (in the Born neighborhood), we walked over and were greeted by Angelica, the owner. The most wonderful and warm woman who guided us through our 2-hour mosaic class. 2-hours was perfect for my son and I to each create our own masterpiece. They are now treasured pieces of art for our home and memories we will never forget! Thank you Anjelica and Mosaiccos!

Great place for your kids to be artists for a few hours!

We loved this experience! We have done it 2x with our kids. It gave them a break from sightseeing and enjoy being creative. Its also located in a great area of barcelona too so its perfect to schedule time for your kids then go back out to explore the El Born area. Its not only for children , while we were there plenty of adults came in for a session as well. It would be a fun activity for girls trip too. its necessary to book in advance though- it can get booked up especially in popular travel months.

A highlight in Barcelona...don’t miss it

My family did a trencadis mosaic class at Mosaiccos with Ana and it was the highlight of our time in Barcelona! Honestly we could have spent the whole morning there! My teen daughters and my husband loved it, as well, and it was a great family activity. We arrived and our places were set for us. Ana gave a very efficient overview of cutting technique for glass vs ceramic, as well as the trencadis style vs Roman...and we were off. Ana remained close by to offer guidance and suggestions and was just lovely. It was a truly therapeutic reprieve while traveling for all of us. One recommendation, unless you have really small children...don’t book one hour class...you really need 2-3 hours...the time flies and you want to have time to really complete your work patiently. Please don’t miss this opportunity with your family.

Great Activity for Children

My family of three boys ages 7, 6, and 4 years old had an absolute blast doing the one hour children’s class. It was perfect. We did it the afternoon after visiting the Sagrada Família and they loved it. They enjoyed working with glass, cutting it into shapes and selecting the various colors. I highly recommend this activity and the final product was a perfect souvenir for them to take home and keep for years to come!

Excellent experience for kids!

Our four-year-old son did the children's mosaic activity today and loved it. Great setup, fantastic staff... would highly recommend to all as a great way to bring Gaudi to life for little ones!

Great Gaudí mosaic activity!

We popped in on a day when we had some time to work with and Mosaiccos was able to fit us in for a two hour project. My kids, 9 and 11 did pretty well, all things considered and really enjoyed working in their projects. The women helping with the projects made a big difference and because if their extra help with my kids, I decided that I could cram in a one hour project myself and was glad I did, it was really fun and everything turned out great. We picked up our projects the next day and now have a wonderful, personal souvenir that directly connects to the many Gaudí sights we've seen in Barcelona!

Fantastic activity for the whole family in Barcelona

We were traveling with a young child and a teenager. Everybody enjoyed this place! We found it accidentally while walking through the Gothic neighborhood and it is a gem! They have projects for both young children and teenagers and adults alike. Super friendly staff and a great way to beat the heat and still appreciate the culture of Barcelona. It gave us a new appreciation for all of the mosaics we saw around the city and we had a wonderful souvenir to take home. I would definitely recommend this for any families traveling to Barcelona especially to break up the walking around if the kids are tired. This was one of our favorite activities in Barcelona!

Bella esperienza da vivere durante la visita alla città

Angelika si è dimostrata amorevole e paziente con i nostri bambini (7 e 5 anni). Nonostante la differente lingua ha gestito il laboratorio da sola con i bambini e nessun problema si è riscontrato. I bambini sono stati veramente contenti ed hanno orgogliosamente portato a casa i loro lavori oltre ad una bella esperienza! Da provare!
