Friendly, Fascinating, and Fabulously Well Organised

We thoroughly enjoyed this full-day experience. We had booked through GetYourGuide and the provider company was Castlexperience. Long before the booking date, this company was in touch with friendly, efficient and helpful reminder and information emails, which was most impressive. On the day itself, the station meeting point was easy to find (we walked from our hotel near the Gothic Quarter), and everything was so smooth – I only wish I ‘d caught the name of the young man on the counter, because he was extremely friendly and relaxed, with a good sense of humour (always a plus for us!) The organization of this company was equally notable. We were all assigned into two separate groups/tour guides to either Luca or Leslie for when disembarking the bus for the cogwheel train, at Montserrat, and at the winery, and Luca was our wonderful guide. Leslie had the microphone on the bus, and she too had an easygoing and fun personality - she and Luca were a great team. Once at Montserrat, Luca was truly amazing in every way, from the excellent manner in which he presented all the fascinating information, to his advice on our options of what to see and do there, to his obvious passion for the region and Catalan culture in general, which was nothing short of inspiring! After exploring this incredible location, we drove down the mountain for our winery tour and tapas lunch with wine tasting. Once again, Luca proved to be brilliant at conveying all the necessary information in a clear and engaging manner, and afterwards we were able to relax for a short while outside, where we could purchase wine and/or just relax in the garden with the gorgeous resident dog! It was a fabulous day out and well worth doing, including as it did everything from beautiful scenery to history, culture and food. A most impressive bonus to this trip for me was the friendly follow-up email from Luca that evening, in which he not only thanked us for joining him, but also offered suggestions for a vast array of restaurants, cafes and bars back in Barcelona, and on top of this sent a link to the Escalonia boy’s choir at Montserrat in case we’d missed seeing them whilst there… I don’t think I’ve ever received such a follow-up from a tour guide in the past, so this very warm and helpful email was astounding, and really just put the “cherry on top” when it came to both Luca’s personal work ethic and passion, and this company’s overall philosophy!

The top 5 tours I have taken of my 50 life time excursions! Wouldn’t have even made the top 10 but Yerai changed that!

I have taken about 50 vacations throughout my life and this tour was one of my favorites. Just because Yerai made us feel at ease and he really knew what he was doing. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining and funny!

Best Wine Tasting and Tour in Spain

Anthony was an amazing tour guide! 10/10 experiences and one of the best european wine tasting tours I’ve ever been on. He was knowledgeable but also allowed our group to independently explore Montserrat and the winery as we pleased all with ease. Would highly recommend and definitely would book again.

Beautiful Montserrat

We had an awesome tour to Montserrat. Our tour guide was Zhara and she was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She made the tour extra special.

Beautiful Montserrat!!

Our guide (Thais) was superb. She’s knowledgeable, entertaining, approachable and enthusiastic, making the whole trip memorable and fun. The only issue we had (as a group of 9 pax) is insufficient food for lunch. The tapas serving was small and there were only one piece of bread per person. Overall, a good trip and can be better if food quantity is sufficient.

Our trip to Montserrat with Judit was such a beautiful experience, everything was very well organized and we enjoyed it very much. Judit was very helpful and thoughtful , we've learned so much from her and we had so much fun. We would definitely recommend this tour !

AMAZING

Lorena and Lauren were great tour guides! The scenery in Montserrat was majestic and breathtaking. Then, the winery…WOOHOO!! Everything from the beginning to the end was perfect. It was a great way to spend a Friday.

Not a wine tour

The label is really misleading, we caught a normal train up to Montserrat, we then spent a decent amount of time up there which was lovely but I was under the impression there would be wine involved. We do not get to the winery until after 2pm so that's 5 hours before we actually get any wine then we spend the least time there! It was definitely a let down and I find the title to be extremely misleading. I would not book again through this couple that call themselves Castle WINE tours. No you're not a wine tour, you go to one vineyard and it's brief. Absolutely disappointed. Gus was a lovely guide however really disappointed

Wonderful day! Our guide Thaís was awesome!

What a great day! Montserrat is a beautiful, spiritual place, with gorgeous views. The Cathedral is gorgeous, and learning about the Black Madonna was interesting. Our guide Thaís was awesome! She provided so much information, but in a fun way, so it didn’t feel like a lecture. She’s kind and has a great sense of humor. Don’t miss the local vendors under the white tents for cheese tasting. Oller del Mas winery was lovely. Lunch was nice, the gazpacho was delicious, and the chicken and potatoes basic but tasty and filling. Thaís was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about wine, which made the wine tasting all the more fun. All in all a great way to spend the day!

Amazing day out, ask for Luca as your guide!

Went on the 4th of June, we had Luca as our tour guide, he was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble, liked his sense of humour very much. The whole day went like clockwork, everything was on time and the views at Montserrat were breath taking. It's incredible that all this is only an hour away from Barcelona. It was a perfect way to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Amazing tour! This is a must do tour. Monserrat is an amazing place and the views are breathtaking. The lunch at the winery was wonderful. We had lots of fun with the wine tasting. Monica was a great tour person. Very knowledgeable and great humor. We had so much fun on this tour.

Definitely recommend!!

Guille was awesome!!! This tour was amazing!!! None of it felt rushed. We had plenty of time at the top of Montserrat..the food at the wine tasting venue, Oller Del Mas was some of the BEST food I’ve had on a tour. We had plenty of time to taste the included wines as well as purchase any more tastes of other wines and buy bottles.

Her knowledge and enthusiasm brought the history and beauty of Montserrat to life. Riding the cogwheel train to the mountaintop monastery was breathtaking, offering stunning views of the Catalan countryside. Delph's insights into the area made the experience truly special. The visit to Oller del Mas château was equally memorable. We toured the wine cellar, strolled through the picturesque vineyards, and enjoyed an expertly led wine tasting session. Delph's passion for wine and her detailed explanations enhanced our appreciation of the organic wines we tasted. The tapas brunch was the perfect ending to a wonderful day. Monserrat Day Trip

We had an amazing time the staff were wonderful. We missed our booking because we could not get a cab after trying for over an hour. The staff rebooked us for no additional cost in the afternoon. Alfonzo was an amazing guide and did a wonderful job answering any questions. Would 100% recommend

Monserrat and wine tasting, wonderful experience !!!

Monserrat and wine tasting, definitely the highlight of our trip because of the beauty of the sites but also the quality of our amazing guide Delphine that shared with us such interesting informations and made sure that everyone was having the best time.

Excellent day outside of the city!

All of the tour guides were so kind, helpful, informative and funny! In the bus ride to Montserrat they educated us on local Catalan culture, language and history. From start to finish the day was very well organized. At no point was I confused on where to go or what we would be doing. The wine tasting experience is a t a private vineyard in the region and was stunning! I thoroughly enjoyed this tour as a solo traveler and am looking forward to coming back to Barcelona again so my husband and I can book another tour with this company!

Views were amazing and guide Bel was very good, explaining a helping historical basic background and great suggestions.

Hiking up to the cross was a good workout but doable. The winery was relaxing and wonderful. Our guide, Bel, was pleasant and informative.

A wonderful day trip out of Barcelona to Montserrat.

The day was very pleasant indeed. Laura gave us interesting historical information. She was knowledgeable & had a great sense of humour. Loved being in Montserrat as it was a unique experience. Saw performances by local Catalan dancers which were memorable. The trip to the winery Oller del Mas was great. We enjoyed a tasty 3 course lunch with red & white wine & then went into a separate room for a structured tasting facilitated by Laura. The activities were varied & balanced.

Absolutely amazing tour!

This tour was absolutely amazing. First of all, Montserrat is indescribably beautiful and you cannot miss it if you are coming to barcelona. Also, the Ollers del Mas winery was absolutely beautiful as well and the farm to table dinner and wine tasted amazing. But I think what made this tour such an incredibly enjoyable way to spend a day is that Vince was probably the best tour guide I've ever had on any tour ever. He was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and outgoing, and hilariously funny. I learned so much from him about the catalonian culture, the Montserrat history, and of course the wine.

Unforgettable Montserrat Tour with guide Luca

I recently visited Montserrat with our amazing tour guide, Luca, and it was an unforgettable experience. Luca was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate, making the history and culture of Montserrat come alive. The scenic cable car ride, breathtaking mountain views, and serene Benedictine Monastery were highlights.

Awesome views, more wine

Awesome tour, definitely worth a trip to Montserrat and the winery when in Barcelona. Alfonso and the other guides were very knowledgeable and we had a great time! Could use a little more wine during the winery portion though, or maybe the option to buy a bottle at the start of lunch.

Great way to spend a day in Spain!

It’s an all day excursion, so be prepared for about almost 11 hours in total, but totally worth it. Excellent value, and the views are amazing. Our guide Luca was excellent, and we enjoyed the company of our fellow travelers along with the experience. Great architecture! Great food and wine, natural beauty, historical/spiritual significance, and great people. What more can you ask for? and for only $100!

Worth the day trip

A must do trip! Our guide Lesly was so wonderful! We had an amazing full day at the mountain learned history on way up and enjoyed Basilica and wine tasting tour with 3 course meal and all the Mother Nature on our hike to the cross during our free time. Great organic winery. The bathrooms in the Barcelona bus terminal are VERY dirty and had no supplies- so bring your own!

Aline was our guide. She was fantastic. Very nice friendly. Her English was perfectly fine to understand for USA tourists. The history and information from the tour was great. The view and scenery was nice. The wine and tapas were tasty and a fun experience. I would do this again with friends!

Beautiful day to Monserrat and boutique winery !

Fantastic tour of Montserrat and a boutique winery for lunch and wine testing. What an amazing day in the mountains outside Barcelona. Luca, Judi and Lesley were an outstanding group of guides that were knowledgeable and entertaining. We boarded a cogwheel train to the top where the Monserrat Monastery is and learned so much about the Catalan culture. We saw the Black Madonna, ans then given free time around the monastery to explore. Then we were off to Oller del Mas winery for a tour and then a three course lunch with wine. We finished up with a wine tasting and free time to relax in the wine garden. This tour was such a highlight of our trip to Barcelona. I highly recommend !!

Great guided tour of an amazing site!

Montserrat is a mus see. The winery provided a beautiful lunch with very nice locally produced wines. Our tour guide, Luca, was fabulous!

Train up to Montserrat, walked the town with the guide, then free time to explore before hoping on a bus to a vineyard.

Wonderful day! Highly recommend this excursion for adults. The farmers market is generous with cheese tasting in Montserrat. The history is explained by the tour guide, but allows plenty of time to explore on your own! The wine tasting and tapas were wonderful.
