Danny was great! We loved our day trip to Montserrat! I highly recommend the cable car ride. The monk liquor was a neat thing to try, but I should have gone for the cookies. :)

A must see in Barcelona

Great trip , brilliant value for money, the journey to the monastery from the train was full of fantastic breath taking views. At the monastery fells like you have went back in time. One of the best excursions in Barcelona , Highly recommend . Valerie was very informative and friendly.

Montserrat with Sandra

It was bright and sunny and Sandra was amazing. Tip- Sit on the left side of the train to enjoy the views of the valley and mountains.

Everything you need for an easy trip to Montserrat!

Had a great morning trip out from Barcelona to Montserrat! The cog train up was enjoyable while Sara explained the history to us, and the walking tour and guaranteed access to the Black Madonna were nice. For the approximately 2 free hours we decided to pay the 8 euros/person for the museum and then do the included tasting, which was very fast. And Sara gave us a great tip about the Mato with honey; it’s available at the cafeteria but the day we were there the vendors were on the street and we got a portion for 2.50 euros, don’t miss it! Tour got us back in good time (1:30ish) and in a good location to continue the rest of our day in Barcelona.

Outstanding experience with such beauty and reverence! The natural beauty, architecture, and variety of experiences was fantastic! Fine wine tasting & farmers market!!

Great tour, but I would skip any Julia Travel tours in the future.

Our guide was great. She was super excited about the things we saw that day and she made it a fun trip. The big negative is that Julia Travel doesn't have their guides listen to their own audio. She would be quiet and then super loud and your ears would explode. The mics don't have wind covers so if the wind blows, you can't hear anything. I had to have my earphones kind of perched outside of my ears.

beautiful scenery but to long

Definitely worth seeing, I wouldn’t recommend a 6hr tour, no more than 3 needed. Tasting wasn’t worth while.

Monastery Trip

Beautiful monastery! Sandra was a great host! She was informative and knew the history. She was caring and professional. The bus ride was smooth. We highly enjoyed the train ride up the mountain.

Great Tour

We enjoyed seeing the Black Madonna, as well as the basilica. The museum was entertaining as well. The cogwheel train gave some amazing views.

Melina was excellent as a guide. Be prepared to walk -wonderful food in the shop. Unbelievable history consumes you. Do not miss the liquor tasting and beautiful views.

The place was worth visiting but the trip could have been organized better

The travel by coach and cog wheel train to Monserrat was good. The place beautiful and views magnificent. BUT we had a long wait to enter the Basilica and time was not well managed. Too much time standing around j stead of being able to enjoy the place. Also having the explanations in both languages though ok was not ideal.

Was a very interesting...

Was a very interesting experience with breathtaking scenic views and a lot of historical information. Had a lot of time up on top of the mountain, but we had to stand in a long line to wait for our view of the black Madonna, so we were unable to take the additional cog rail up to the next level… wish we could have had a bit more time.

Awesome

Maria was beyond AMAZING. She was super friendly, very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. She made the whole trip so enjoyable. Montserrat is a wonderful place. So beautiful, perfect for taking photos and hiking. So worth it and strongly recommended.

Tour to Monserrat.

I must say it is one of the trips I have taken in a while it was well organized from start to finish.The buses are clean with A/C .The tour guide Sandra was pleasant and she had good communication in detail of the trip.This trip is highly recommended for those visiting Barcelona. Thanks to Sandra and the team for this wonderful trip.

Brilliant views and experience

We were a group of 7 - 1 kid, 1 teenager , parents, grand parents and a friend . We had an amazing time on the tour with Anna. She is a very knowledgeable guide. My mom has mobility issues but Anna helped us a lot. She made sure mom could go to the black madonna, with the help of priority access. A very good trip indeed

Gloria was amazing, very knowledgeable about the Monserrat patrona and she also shared many storiesThis was a wonderful tour!

Problem with logistics of excursion but Monserrat was lovely

Quintessential monastery in the mountains with fantastic views. Long wait to see black Madonna despite skip the line. Bus driver got lost, took wrong road to train depot and hit the guardrail TWICE- frightening considering the mountain stop on one side. Need better info to say the train is only one way (going up) as I expected it to be round trip. Also would be nice to police people sitting in train as several couples sat to take both window seats thereby leaving several of us with no window opportunities. Also had a “glitch “ with one of our tickets causing us 15min of waiting before bring the last to board the bus (despite being at the check in one hour beforehand). Also can not understand why staff could not check us in when we first arrived instead of telling us we had to wait til 10am- this caused chaos at 10am in the office when no everyone was checking in at the same time. (Had we been able to check in when we arrived the glitch could have been discovered sooner and the bus would not have been late leaving- which caused the driver to speed on the “lost” mountain road which undoubtedly exacerbated our hitting the guardrails)

Make sure you're not abandoned !

Things went ok except our guide was NOT clear to us about where to catch our ride back down the mountain and we were left without a ride back! Called to get assistance from Julia Travel but it wasn't any help. The spiritual feeling we were experiencing was gone!! Our guide was young and without strong English...too bad for us. She SHOULD have told us to go to the BUS parking lot. We were waiting at a parking lot. Big bummer.

Memorable excursion in Monserrat

The guided tour was eccellent,the place was amazing and not to mention our tour leader Valeria with her glorious information about Monserrat,keep it up Valeria you were amazing.

A highlight of our trip to Barcelona!

Anna was amazing! Love her energy and consideration for the non-native speakers. So glad we made the choice to visit. Well worth the exploration!!

It was fine.

It was fine. It felt very rushed and touristy. A bit overwhelming at the end. The guide was fine, but definitely pushed his religious beliefs. I think I learned more about the experience from the AV exhibit.

Don’t want to miss it!

Learned so much about Montserrat and the religious significance of it. Beautiful views!!! The cogwheel train was neat, never been on one.

Good side trip from BCN.

Lots of fun. Loved the Mato. Gloria is a great host. The views are incredible and the timing is perfect. These are now filler characters because TripAdvisor is dumb.

Visiting spires in the sky

The cog wheel train made the experience. Our guide was sweet, yet efficient. All in all, very enjoyable. Preferred a tour over trying to get here ourselves.

Highly recommended

The trip exceeded my expectations. Being in a smaller group was very nice and the drivers / guides were very nice in making sure noone is lost, helping with taking pictures, etc. not to mention beautiful Spain itself 😁

Wonderful excursion to Montserrat delivered by Julia travel and their representative Valeria. Lots of info along the way, with ample time to do your own thing....all-in-all a great experience.

Find a better tour that stays with you for the entire tour

The tour guide Sasha was good but audio equipment was horrible. In past visit our tour guide stayed with us and information was far superior.

A well organized and enjoyable trip to Montserrat. Sarah our guide was very good. Knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Montserrat was definitely worth the day trip!

Montserrat and the Black Madonna

The original train were to take had broken down so we needed to wait extra 20 minutes which was unfortunate. The Basicila was fantastic and the Black Madonna and Chapel behind the Madonna.

Mountain Majesty

Friendly, knowledgeable tour guide and very comfortable bus. Tour guide had good management of group and time. The place itself it's beautiful and peaceful. Mountain views were fenomenal. Enjoyed the view of the Monserrat Virgin and monastery.

Must see trip when you go to Barcelona highly recommend views were amazing we couldn’t stop taking photos. Maria our tour guide was the best highly recommend taking the tour with her.

Worth every penny!

Julia was an ABSOLUTE PLEASURE!! She was incredibly knowledgeable and soooo funny. Highly recommend the tour and her as a guide!

Unhappy with our guide

Our guide, Maria, was unsatisfactory. 1. She had no identifying signage such as a stick with a tour name and number that she could hold up so the tour members could see where she was. 2. She conducted a bi-lingual tour of English and Spanish. But,she spoke both extremely fast , did one sentence in English, and the next in Spanish. We are 100% English speakers but could not understand much of what she was saying. The disjointed sentence phrasing meant we couldn't follow a continuity of thought. 3. She never located herself in such a way that we could see where she was pointing out the various points such as the museum, gift shops, wine tasting etc. 4. She dressed inappropriately for a tour guide. Her tube tpo, pajama style grey pants, and lip piercings were not professional. The 2 stars are because the bus driver(s) were very good.

A day on the mountain

Seeing the black Madonna was lovely and the view was amazing. It was definitely worth a visit and an experience.

You will enjoy Montserrat!

We did very well with the weather. Our tour guide did a great job of explaining the historical significance of the site. The wait for the wait to see the Lady of Montserrat was a little long, but it was a nice part of the tour. With nice weather, even a whole day is not enough time to tour this site.

Perfect length tour

Correct size tour. On time departure. Gave enough time to visit the monastery. furnicular ride( not included in the ticket ). Is a must. Liquor tasting was fun. Guide Valeri was friendly, could have shared more details of places.meeting point could have been described as downstairs

Once you reached the pick-up point everything will go very smooth.

Excellent guid tour with Malina 😊 She has great information about the place and great way of expressing the info. Recommended for half day visit.
