Great place to visit

An amazing tour of an exceptional place, a must visit in Barcelona. It really does exceed expectations. It’s hilly but everyone can go and choose their own activities.

I recommend Barcelona Local Experiences!

Monserrat is a must-see while visiting Barcelona. This tour was perfect for us as it was only 5.5 hours including the travel to/from Barcelona. Our guides were Valerie and Vincent and they were super friendly and informative. I would say the half-day tour is like an express experience. He moved quickly but didn’t feel rushed, and saw what we wanted. We did a hike to a Cross. It was about 45 minutes round trip on an inclined path. The views were amazing. We had some time for liquor tasting and a walk through the gift shop before our Boy’s Choir experience, which was majestic. Then we tasted some cheeses and honey on our way back to the coach bus. We didn’t walk through the Museuem decided to do the hike instead. If you want more free time to see more of Montserrat’s offerings, maybe book a longer tour with Barcelona Local Experience. I’ll be looking at more of their tours as they were amazing. Cheers.

Monserrat Basilica

Valerie and Vincent were extremely good guides to Monserrat Basilica. Friendly, knowledgeable, kept us on time. I would book again!

Half day tour Montserrat with choir boys

We had a wonderful tour to Montserrat today on a half day trip either the option to see the boys choir sing. We had Valerie & Vincent and they were great. We had enough free time to take the funicular up to the top for €33. Such a spectacular day, highly recommend 5 stars 🌟

Very Worth the Trip

Great experience. Transportation to and from the mountain was very organized. Valerie was a fantastic tour guide that really cared about the participants. She knew a lot about the site and was mindful of everyone that was a part of the group. Definitely worth it!

Monsterrat Barcelona Half Day Tour

Amazing Montserrat Visit

Had an amazing time at Montserrat. We had great tour guides Valerie and Vincent. They were both very informative and went out of their way to help us see the Black Madonna.

The tour guides are amazing. Brian was a great introduction to our tour. Elena capped it off as we arrived, and Miro was our guide. He was an amazing guide. He was considerate as he always checked in with our mom, who was using her walker. I definitely will book again with them and do the longer tour.

Good way to see Montserrat

Good way to see Montserrat from Barcelona. The guides share some of the history while driving out to the mountain and once there take you through Montserrat. Most of the tour happens outside of the church and then they direct you where to go while inside. It would have been nice to learn a bit more of the history and get more information while inside. After that you have about 1.5 hours to go back into the main part of the church, hike to the cross, take the funicular up the mountain, go whiskey tasting, or walk around.

Great Customer Service

Tour guides were amazing and very knowledge. We were unable to buy tickets online so we went to the meeting spot hoping to get on the tour. Vincent went above and beyond to help my family and I to get on the tour. We were able to make the best of our 2 days in Barcelona. Highly recommend this tour company!

The experience was beyond our expectations. The views were amazing and the inside of the basilica was stunning. The leaders MK, Cam and Andres were fantastic, very well educated, personable and funny. Highly recommend.

Great day at Monserrat

We toured with Cam, Andreas, and MK; they were great! They provided insightful information on the history of Barcelona, and Monserrat which was very helpful to prepare for the tour. Additionally, they were funny! They guided us inside the basilica and led us to the black Madonna and the unique prayer room designed by Gaudi. Their instructions were very clear, easy to understand, they made sure all of us know when and where to meet. Just wanted to add that going to the cave involved a lot of walking, climbing stairs and not suitable for elderlies. We sampled various liquor and bread as well as honey cheese. It was a lovely trip, definitely worth the visit!

Amazing time in Monserrat

Look, there is nothing...

Look, there is nothing wrong with the booking service, bus, or tour guides…those were seamlessly fine. The time you spend on this trip is just not worth for me. I should have stayed in Barcelona and spend my time doing something else

Best way to see the Black Madonna

The trip was great. The tour guides were very good. Lots to look at and we got a lot of information from the tour guide. Only issue was during our free time we missed some great walks and shopping because we did not know where to go.

A magical place

I am so happy I came to Montserrat! I did the half day trip and had Elena as my guide. My only wish is that I booked a full day trip so I had more time to hike! I decided to add on the funicular but I felt a bit rushed to get back to the bus on time and I didn’t really have time to get food or look in the shops and do the funicular. Overall I am so happy with this trip!

Great Tour Guides - Art too.

Brian, Ori, and Merak were great tour guides! The tour was smooth and informative, and they made it fun. The views from Montserrat were beautiful. There's also an art museum with an 8 euro entry that's very worthwhile for art lovers - Picasso, Monet, Singer-Sargent...

Very fun tour :)

Very energetic and enthusiastic with lots of charm and humor. The bus ride was smooth and the destination was relaxed. The tour of the Basilica and the Black Madonna was well organized and the free time gave lots of options. Ori, Brian, and Merak were excellent.

Totally worth it

The place is so amazing. Unfortunately we don't have a lot of time to explore this amazing place. Brian, our tour guide has been very helpful and insightful.

Tres Amigos

Brian. Oli and Merak were great! It was very cool. Almost cold at the top but very refreshing. The art museum was very good. Didn't have time to hike to the cross but also looked like a good time.

Danny and Angelica were great guides. This tour is a little too much free time but it was good. Food wasn’t great and a lot of walking.

Mark and Elena were great! Beautiful day. The line was short to see the Virgin, and the bus was nice and cool for the journey. We highly recommend.

Great Tour, Great Tour Guide

Angie was amazing! She made it fun, informative, and exciting. Would highly recommend it, and her specifically. My only regret is the amount of time here was too small. I did the 5 hr from Barcelona, and I could've spent another few hours here and been happy.

Just perfect! We started at 8:30am and finished around 2. Angie was our guide. She was very informative, personable, friendly and funny. Highly recommend.

Had a great time with guides Angie, Edu and Mira. They were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and entertaining. A trip to Montserrat is definitely worth the time and this was a good value. Highly recommend!!

Perfect blend of history and humor

It was rainy and very foggy in Montserrat, but our tour guides (Edu and company) were amazing. They had the perfect blend of history and humor. They made sure we got there safely and on time. We were even able to hear Holy Mass and grab a quick snack before heading back to Barcelona. They even gave a great reco on where to have lunch. Highly recommended!

Very nice excursion

We loved the trip. Bus ride was much longer than we expected, but the church was beautiful, views were amazing, shops were very nice. Much more here than I expected.

Great experience- bad weather

Guides were great. Weather was terrible . Montserrat is an incredible experience. It was really a shame the views from the mountains were nonexistent because of the weather.

Awesome time at the Montserrat Monastery

First things first, we had great guides, Elena and Rocco who provided great information about both Barcelona and Montserrat both coming and going along the way. Once at the monastery, we were broken into smaller groups to allow for a bit more personalized experience while on the grounds and in addition to being able to hear the commentary, we were also able to interact with the guide and as questions. We were in Elena's group, and nothing against Rocco, but she was great. In addition to a tour of the grounds, the Black Madonna and the museum, there was ample time to do some shopping/browsing for those so inclined. Food for thought, the monastery is in the mountains and is at some elevation. It was about 75* in Barcelona when we left for the afternoon tour and when we got to the Monastery, it was cold, rainy and the wind was really blowing. They can't control the weather, just a note to be prepared for some possible weather changes. There are some walking paths that I would have like to have explored, but the weather simply didn't cooperate -- maybe on my next trip. My only real complaint is that the meeting point didn't have any signage that we could identify as to being in the right place. I went into several shops right across the street from it and the locals couldn't tell me I was in the right spot (Google Maps could only do so much). It's near the Arc di Triompf, but it was the overgrown park area to the right of the Arc park facing from the Arc down the long axis. We were early, but the guides didn't break out the burgundy umbrellas until very near the meeting time. There were several other buses in the area for other tours, so it was a bit maddening trying to make sure we were in the correct spot. Ultimately, small inconvenience that worked out fine. I would definitely recommend this 1/2 day tour. Since it was the afternoon session, we were able to do some morning exploring of the city (another couple took a tour of Sagrada Familia) and still have time to pack this in.
