Flamenco Show Ticket at Los Tarantos Barcelona

Not what I expected.

I thought it lacked the professional appearance I was seeking. The dancers were a bit on the heavy side, they were able to perform the dance well but my expectations were high due to what I had seen on the internet before coming to Barcelona. I thought there would be more than one guitar player.

Wonderful! Bravo! Great show. Just the right length. Amazing guitar and vocalist...the whole package! Check out the bar next door for generous portions, excellent tapas!

Must see in España!

Two dancers, extraordinary singer and the in the heart of the performance- the guitarist. It was a pleasure- the music, the art, the emotions. An intimately little hall, with a bar. So you could grab a beer or wine if you’d like, to accompany the beautiful dance.

Entertaining evening.

You would normally associate flamenco dancing with female artists, but this venue also showcased a male flamenco artist. Cozy venue, grab your drinks prior to start of show.

Great show for cost.

Performers were very professional and talented. They seemed to be enjoying it as much as we did. Very nice show.

Great value, passionate performance

Really good experience. Place was easy to find, make sure you get there 20 minutes early as suggested so you get a good seat for the performance. There was a male and female dancer, both were absolutley fantastic. Singer and guitarist were also really good. You can tell they all love what they do, they were genuinely so happy and conveyed the emotions of the songs in thier dancing/singing. Highly recommend this experience for a little taste of Spanish culture.

Not the tourist trap I expected

Absolutely had low expectations of this as a super-touristy experience. I was so wrong. Expert classical Spanish guitar accompanied by beautiful vocals. That would have been worth the money alone. The dancers are so passionate in their art, the dance is so beautiful, it brought me to tears. Highly recommend!

Pick this one! Amazing- we loved it . Tons of restaurants around the theater . A Memorable evening .

Must-see experience

Energetic performance and well worth the time & price of admission. Go see it, if it's the last thing you need to do in Barcelona.

Tap Dancing

Not what I expected. A guitar player, one singer, a male and female dancer was it. Lots of heart but not a lot to see as I it repeated itself.

Excellent traditional flamenco at Tarantos

Show was about 40 minutes. Really enjoyed it. Dancers were excellent and seemed to really enjoy what they do which in turn was great for the audience.

Brilliant !

A great start to our evening here at the flamenco show in plaza reial . A good show. Talented performers. The enthusiasm and skill of the dancers put us in a great mood. We would definitely recommend it. It’s not the longest - but we felt it delivered . Enjoyed a drink in the square after - perfect .

5 Days in Barcelona

The show was disappointing. It was only for 30 minutes. We had flamenco show experiences in Sevilla, Granda...which we couldn't forget since years. This one was weak and careless in dressing and decoration.

Vibrant performance

Excellent show. Vibrant fun music and dance. Highly recommend. Get there 15 minutes early for seating. Highly recommend the bar for drinks and a show.

Dissapointed overall, despite the casts efforts.

Somewhat dissapointed overall 😒 by the 18h30 show tonight on the 8th of Feb 2024. Yes, the guitarist was accomplished, the singer enjoyable, the experienced female dancer technically proficient and full of energy, and the male dancer not without intermediate-level footwork skill. Nevertheless, the show lacked overall in entertainment value, variety, and direction. With only four performers on stage and zero costume or lighting changes it was up to the female dancer to carry 80% of the entertainment burden for most of the 40-minute-long show. Not even famous pop stars or headline acts can do that without zero supportong cast, back-up dancers, and/or costume or lighting changes. It's just an unreasonable expectation. When catching a flamenco show in Barcelona, albeit in n an intimate venue with only four performers, I expect to be blown-away by the experience.

A great intro flamenco performance

Was a good performance in a small theatre, and much better priced than some of the other options online. We got what we paid for and were very happy to tick it off the bucket list, 40mins was the perfect amount of time for us. If you wanted an in-depth look this might not be the show for you, but if you just want a taste I'm happy to recommend. A few reviews mentioned them pushing heavily for tips, they did ask, but definitely were not too pushy for them. Also, I would greatly advise arriving the 20mins early as the tickets recommend so you can get the best seats.

Intimate and dazzling, well worth the money. And dinner first (or after) at Plaza Real, just a few steps away, made a perfect evening

Great show with very talented dancers and musicians. They transmit their passion through their music and dance. We enjoyed it much.

A must-see when in Barcelona

Such amazing all around performances-- guitar, singing and dancing in the oldest Flamenco studio in BCN. Very intimate and well done!

Don’t bother

Disappointed, the guitarist was excellent but the dancers didn’t meet expectations, boring amateur and not pleasant.

Passion that’s goes to your soul !

Spectacular ! Guitar,Singer and both dancers was passion in possession of the tablado … it was a Beautiful passionate experience.

Disappointing.

I guess you get what you pay for. Small theater with raised stage. Seats are not below stage so patrons cannot see the feet of the dancers! The foot work is what flamenco is all about. Costumes cheap and not at all traditional. Very disappointing

Intimate and moving

What a fantastic show for our first exposure to live Flameco! The venue was easy to find, situated at a square. Entry from 30 minutes before so if you want your pick of where to sit arrive 35-40 minutes prior to the show, we watched the 6.30pm show and had front row seats, you are allowed to film/photograph as long as it's without a flash. There is a bar but no pressure to buy drinks. The show comprised of a guitarist, singer and male and female dancer. The singer was incredible, watching him connect to the emotions of the songs from so close was very moving, and the tone of his voice was so authentic. The dancers brought real drama and being able to see the footwork and feel the vibrations of each beat from next to the stage made it really special. The show was around 40 minutes which felt just right and left us wanting to explore flamenco in more depth. Definitely have some coins at least as a tip because you will likely want to give something to reflect your enjoyment. It's been a highlight of our time in Barcelona.

Intimate enjoyable show!!

Small venue just off La Rambla, easy to find. Small venue with limited seating, but great views from side stage (first come, first serve). One singer, guitarist, 2 female dancers. Powerful performances, and unrestricted photo/video options. Bar for drinks. Extra bonus: guitarist's young daughter came on for encore and sang her little heart out; amazing!! No specific souvenirs there. Great value for the Euros spent; nice intro to flamenco for novices. Not as elaborate, authentic nor ornate theatre as the Flamenco Gran Gala show at Palau Musica, but I still recommend it...

Mediocre first time experience for flamenco. You can tell they’re all good but they didn’t put as much time and effort into it as some other shows but you’re paying for what you’re getting

Flamenco

This show was in a small sized theatre therefore intimate feeling. The ensemble of 4 performers we’re definitely professionals. I highly recommend this show over the larger more expensive shows offered in Barcelona.

Amazing and Entertaining Show

The Flamenco Show at Tarantos was spectacular. It is so amazing to see the dancers and musicians perform in such an authentic, entertaining way. I was truly impressed. Not to miss for any age!

Great flamenco show

We had a splendid time at this show. The artists were incredible and had a great vibe between each other. The venue was a little too cold coming off the hot street with our light clothing on, and the show could have been a full hour, but other than those two things it was absolutely a blast.

Short entertaining flamenco dances

Dancing was amazing but not blow you away good but loved the guitar work and singer. Quick taste of flamenco from an older master but pushed tipping at end and many left nothing !

A must see- great venue/performers/value for money

Just come out of the 1830 show- it was amazing! Short and sweet, just the right length for a young family (6 and 14). Performers were great- so much passion and energy. We got our tickets with a drink for €5 extra. These can be used for alcoholic drinks (large measures 😉) so we had two drinks each and just paid for the kids soft drinks (€3). Thoroughly enjoyed it. Got ther at 1810 and managed to nab the back row seats next to the sound guy (it’s raised so you get a good view) Highly recommend. We were looking at the city hall flamenco but so glad we chose this one.

Amazing show

This was an amazing experience. Highly recommended. Vibrant place with amazing music, singing and great dancers. Location is easy to reach with lots of entertainment around to enjoy after the show. My advice is to go 30 min before your appointment and line up to get a good seat.

Worth the money but get there early

It was fun and a good experience. There were not nearly enough seats and we had to sit on the floor or stand! It was quite a short experience with no information about the music or dancing but we enjoyed it. It was enough and worth doing if you don't want to pay too much. Weirdly, the percussionist and guitarist seemed to have some private joke going the whole time and constantly looked at each other/ laughed the whole time which came across as a bit rude.

Great experience — must see!

Wonderful show! Short, sweet and amazing. Best seats in the house are up on the side (by the bar) comfortable and perfect! Drinks were great too! I saw someone complain about tips, but they are tasteful about it and deserve a tip for a good show! Also, it’s right in the middle of the Centre which makes it perfect for before and after drinks, eats, and walking around.

Too much wasted timr

The dancers were great but when the show is only 40 minutes there was A LOT of wasted time. The dancers would go off stage after each performance and the guitarist and singer would just sit on stage waiting for the dancers to return. They could have been interacting with the audience or playing songs but we (audience) just sat there and waited in awkward silence.

A fantastic way to start an evening

We absolutely loved this show. Such talent! Venue was great and drink prices weren’t expensive. 40 mins was a great length - and the square the venue is on provides a great place to eat afterwards.

Lively and Expressive

So... we were running a few minutes late and Thankfully they still let us in! The performance had already started so we ducked in and stood in the back bar area so as not to disturb the other patrons and performers. (Note... the place was completely full as far as I could see.) In the quick break between sets, we were able to get a drink from the bartender which was nice since we were parched from scrambling to get there. The performance is probably about 40-45 minutes since they have a show at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30. I don't know how the performers do it... or if there are other performers for the other shows. These performances are heart pounding, adrenaline pumping and lively. The emotion that is felt through the dance and music is very powerful. My heart was pounding, and I was just watching. I would totally go back (and be early) to see this show again. What a great cultural experience!

Great small venue, short show so good taster

This is a small venue so you get to really see the dancing up close and hear the noise. The show lasts just under 40 minutes so it is a nice addition to an evening out. There is a bar inside. Cushions on the front row but otherwise sits very hard to sit on so 40 minutes enough!

Just ok.

I saw a beautiful flamenco performance in southern Spain a few years ago. I recently went to Barcelona with a friend and wanted her to see the beauty of the artistry. First, Los Tarantos is a dark and dirty little establishment. My friend was pretty grossed out. The performance was less energetic than I expected. The vocal storytelling and interaction of the dancers was a lot better than the “ flamenco “ I saw on a cruise once but not as passionate as I know it can be. As I said in the title, just ok.

OVERSOLD!

The show was OVERSOLD! I attended with an elderly person - no one had the decensy to accomodate a seat. I paid for a "MIDDLE SESSIO SEAT" that was NOT available- there were NO seats available. I had to leave the show! Shud get a refund! The venue employees said they o through the same situation all the time. STAY AWAY! The artists are not at faukt at all, they are there to erform, but booking management is horrible!

Highly recommend it!!

It was the first time my husband and I visited Barcelona and we couldn’t pass by the chance to see the true traditional flamenco show here. Lucky we arrived at the theater 45 minutes before the show, which worked out fantastic because shortly after that, the door opened half hour before the show so we got to sit in front and got real close view of the dancers. We could even see their sweat! The dancers and the musicians were super talented and their passion for the art came through their performance literally right in front of our eyes! We were blown away!! It was so worth it and we highly recommend it!!
