Must See Flamenco Show!

For my daughter's birthday, I booked the Flamenco show at Dalmases Palace, and we loved every second. If I could sum this experience into one word, it would be emotional. The dancers and singers were incredible and brought so much emotion and creativity to their performances. We don't speak Spanish or Catalan, but you don't need to speak the language to experience this flamenco show. We had tickets in the front row and had the best seats in the house. Our tickets also came with one drink for each person, which we were allowed to bring into the show. As far as the space, the palace is beautiful and has a really cool courtyard where we sat and had drinks. It's located in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. If you're looking for the ultimate Barcelona experience, we highly recommend checking out this flamenco show. You won't regret it!

Really fun experience

Thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Small venue (great for Cheetah Girls fans), guitarist brought me to tears.

You're in Barcelona. You kinda have to see a Flamenco show! :-)

Of course we had to go to a Flamenco show while in Barcelona! We didn't know what to expect, and the show is 100% in Calalian/Spanish so we didn't understand what was being said, but it was amazing! We went to the 6:45 show which included a drink (we chose Sangria) and a seat in the small theatre (I'm guessing around 88 seats). We had an A ticket which was in the middle section, and we were able to see perfectly. This high energetic show is not to be missed.

Show was good but...

Show was good but audience was filled with boomers who were recording and taking flash photography throughout the whole thing. No rules were enforced around this

Fantastic Flamenco

Don’t hesitate, book this ticket, we both had an amazing night, the musicians & dancers were fantastic to watch.

Very good experience

Fun night in a wonderful location to see flamenco dancing for the first time. Wish the seating was tiered so we could view the footwork of the dancers.

Dissapointed

It is an amazing building, you expect that the performance will be like this. It is very disappointing. The acting level of the actors is very low. If I had known, I would not have attended such a performance even for free

Barcelona things to do

Fantastic show. We really enjoyed this traditional Flameco show. There was a choice of times for the show with 3 price options. We opted for the middle seating option, including a drink. Because the venue is small, we had a great view. The performance was excellent and professionally done. Recommend if you want a taste of traditional Flamenco.

Disappointing, waste of money, limited view

The building looks magnificent and when you enter the courtyard it's dramatic and beautifully gothic but this is not where the dance show takes place. I would recommend sitting at the front but the price doesn't justify it and the further back you sit, is not as cheap as it should be considering the limited view. none of the free drinks are that nice and you will have to queue for awhile as there is only a small bar and 1 barman. There is no introduction to the show. no-one comes on to announce the performers or introduce them or inform audience of the duration or format. literally 0 communication after you've bought tickets which I found really disengaging and detached me from the show at the outset. no historical context of the building or the dance or the music which would be helpful but these people are interested in only your money it would seem. if you have never heard flamenco music / singing - listen before you go because it can sound horrendous to an unfamiliar ear and this is loud and traditional! unless you are at the front, you will not see the dancers feet which is entirely pointless when Flamenco is about, arms, hips and feet!! you will hear them but not see them beyond the front row but the pricing doesnt make the back super cheap vs the front which it should be given how awful the view is after the 3rd row back from front. the stage is low and the room is small so you're very confined and elbow to elbow with audience members meaning it's loud and close and very restricted views of the dancers from waist down. The stage is narrow so the dancers can't move back to allow audience better perspective of the dance. There is no explanation of each dance and there are gaps in between but you've no idea how long for. There is only 1 way out which is back through the 2 big draped curtains stage left so you cannot subtly go for a drink or escape. god knows if you have a drink, how you get back through them as they're so heavy it's not easy to see/part them. There is no one the other side and it's pitch black behind the curtain so watch your footing until you get to the door. we left after 20mins as it was so utterly disappointing and felt like we were insulting the dancers as you go past the edge of the stage but it was a total waste of money. for the money they're taking, i think the costumes could be allot more professional. one guy dancing had a shirt that barely fit and kept pulling his trousers up and his blazer was barely waist length as he's so tall so any use of it referencing a cape, where they hold the edges just looked like he was trying to find buttons. costumes are traditional so dont expect the stereotypical black and red satin! the dancing, when you can see below knee is an absolute marvel but given this is an hour+ show, for the noise, the small crammed room....given the courtyard feels like a much better use of space and stair well...the restricted views, the absolute disregard for your experience and education on flamenco, I would urge you to save your money and spend it on something else because this was so disappointing.

Value for money

Great venue! Nice atmosphere with good performers. Would definitely recommend if you want to experience flamengo dance and don't want to pay too much.

Show good but tapas terrible

The show was very good but we had the tapas with it which was very poor and overpriced. The service was terrible and there were no waiters most of the time. Do only the show and not the tapa.

Good for the value.

The venue location (El Born) was great. This is my favorite Barcelona district so that was nice. The bar was excellent pre-show and the exterior super nice for a pre-show cocktail. Don't get there late as the seat is first come first serve...and you don't want to be in the back! The floor is not sloped, so (from the back) you cannot see their feet. There is also a large beam in the center that can impede your view if you're in the back. However, if you're not late like us...this wouldn't be an issue. The show itself was amazing. The venue is small so it feels nice an intimate which I think adds to the value. I would definitely recommend. This was my second Flamenco show in Barcelona and I preferred the other show at City Hall for the value (some of the same dancers and singers).

Great dancing

Great show, really enjoyed it. The dancers were fantastic and it was great seeing the dancers and musicians work together and interact. I've been to see several flamenco shows, my partner had never seen one before, and we were both blown away.

A very enjoyable evening!

We enjoyed the 1 hour performance very much. Truly talented performers. Our friend who was with us has seen several other flamenco performances in other cities in Spain, thought this was the best one she has ever seen. Plus, the old historic building was charming and not difficult to find. We sat in the mid section and had perfect viewing.

Fun Experience

Lovely venue. Had a drink and watched the show. Very passionate people about the dancing and was a good evening. I would recommend for sure.

Spanish entertainment

It was easy to find, good music, traditional dancing but very loud. Beautiful outfits, maybe a history of the dancing would have been nice to explain at the start.

A wonderful experience

A wonderful experience. The dancers and musicians were superb and it was an exhilarating performance. I would definitely recommend this experience. I would suggest giving more information on the location of Dalmases palace as we were not sure where to find it.

Fantastic! Start your trip to Barcelona HERE!

This was aboslutely the perfect way to spend our first night in Barcelona. Sitting in the beautiful courtyard with a glass of Cava before the performance was magical on its own, and then the performance...FANTASTIC. These are professional performers who are extremely passionate and give their all. If we return to Barcelona, I wouldn't dream of starting that trip any other way. We'd definitely return.

Very quaint location, great service and the performance was outstanding. Would definitely recommend to add this to your itinerary when visiting Barcelona!

Entertaining small venue show

We enjoyed the show. The venue is beautiful. The dancers/singers were good and enthusiastic but not over-the-top amazing. There were microphone problems during the show but they were fixed within 10 minutes. We liked that it was a smaller more intimate show.

What a disappointment

I came 5 years ago. I had wonderful memories of it. But this time what a disappointment! The quality of the show was really not there. Complete disillusionment with the dance. The group of musicians and singers were very good. Too bad it was nothing of the 2 men dancers and the woman dancer. I have attended several flamenco shows so I believe I am giving my informed opinion. The price is exorbitant (2 places at 40€) for just 45’ of show. A drink is offered with admission. I won't go back there again and I really advise against it despite the indisputable magic of the place.

Missing the traditional red dress

During a trip to Barcelona we stopped here for a Flamenco show, wanting to see some local culture. The show was good and you could feel the passion the performers have for their craft. The dancers danced well and the music was good. My only disappointment was that there was only 1 female performer and she had no costume changes. Her outfit was not the traditional red dress that I was expecting to see so I kept hoping she would change into it, but did not. Overall a nice experience.

A real Spanish experience

A great show with superb dancing, singing and guitar playing. I would recommend it as a real Spanish experience!

Fantastic flamenco master class! 💃

Our tour group took a master class with the star of this flamenco show on August 1st, and it was absolutely incredible! He is so passionate about this exquisite art, of course, but also made it very clear in his teaching that it was important to him that we understood (and more importantly, could convey ourselves) the emotion, intensity, and beauty that is flamenco. Wonderful teaching style -- we had super beginner students and adults who learned a full basic combo to perform together at the end of the hour. Our master class was one of my absolute favorite experiences in all of my time traveling in Spain over the years!

Lovely and romantic

Such a lovely and romantic venue! Both the dramatic flamenco dancing and the ancient Castle cum art gallery, contributed to the enjoyment of the evening. Well worth the time and minimal investment. A little bit of introduction by the flamenco performers about the origin and meaning of flamenco would have been appreciated.

PASSION!

While flamenco is not native to Catalonia or Barcelona, I would highly recommend the Flamenco show here. Wonderful setting in a 17th century palace. Drinks are included. Go for the front or second row. It’s well worth the money. The best way to describe this show is PASSION! The musicians, singers and dancers were all wonderful, and obviously enjoyed and excelled at what they were doing. Great way to spend an evening.

Fantastic, flamboyant, Flamenco!!!!

We arrived at Palau Dalmases at 9pm and we were greeted warmly by the host. He checked both our tickets and confirmed we also get a choice of drinks as we had paid for the Class A tickets. The venue was superb. The architecture was magnificent and it was full of character. We were advised where to sit politely. The flamenco show was outstanding. The solo guitar player was brilliant along with the two singers. The four flamenco dancers were sensational and each group complimented each other magnificently. I booked this for my wife's birthday and we were both astounded by the whole performance. A great 1 hour show full of verve and passion. Definitely one of the best things we went to see in Barcelona.

Enchanting Flamenco Night

The setting was enchanting amidst the surroundings of the ancient quarter. Upon entering, a striking and great chandelier of jelly fish-like lights fashioned of corn leaves wows you. We got our inclusive drinks. The sangria was tasty. Finally, the show was fantastic; demonstrating various genres of Flamenco. Seating is very cramped, but it's a small venue. Rows are not offset between the seats in front to view the performers' footwork. All the artists were excellent.

Barcelon Flamenco

We enjoyed this, but there were some disappointing aspects.. We got the entire package. The tapas were great, the wine, too, and we sat in the first row. The classical guitarist was great. The dancers were ok, but either were tired or not first flight. The setting in an old palace was great, but the stage itself was very plain. Likewise, the dancers did not model the traditional costumes that we expect with high end Flamenco. I still enjoyed the whole performance.

Excellent Show

Excellent show, which I highly recommend--performers, costumes, music all very good. It was a an enjoyable introduction to Flamenco for us.

Passionate fun!

This experience was worth it! The music, singing and dancing were great. The actual show could have been a bit better and intimate but the location and vibe was great. The picture shown is from the mid seat option.

Good taste of spain

It was a great experience however I was expecting man and woman partner dance together instead of women with women or solo.

Passionate and beautiful music and dance

The music and dance was extremely beautiful, expressive and moving. The auditorium was small and intimate, which was lovely. We gathered for drinks in the very beautiful outer area before the performance and afterwards exited to a beautiful big, gallery area where you could slowly relax and exit.

Excellent show

Excellent show, simply beautiful. A true experience for about an hour. The setting and environment is unbeatable. The drinks and awesome. And the best part is the performance. This is a must in Barcelona

Flamenco a Must Do While In Spain

Beautiful, intimate location, close to the Picasso Museum. The performance was exciting and well done. Well worth the price. The staff however were not very inviting, they had an arrogant attitude. If we had not purchased our tickets ahead of time, we would not have purchased the tickets on site.

Intimate performance. Great flamenco. Don't bother with Tapas after show.

Amazing show! Very intimate and excellent performance. My only criticism is that we booked the tapas for after the show which was very awkward and not the best of food. Probably wouldn't recommend doing the tapas after but 100% the show.

Local Flamenco Show

This was my first Flamenco show so I have nothing to compare it to but I really enjoyed it. The venue was small so it felt intimate. There are no bad seats. The performance was intense. Lots of passion and fire. I would recommend.

Incredible show

The show was well worth the money. Would absolutely do it again. That said our tickets were for dinner and show and they said dinner was not included. Also we had to reschedule and confirmed with them. When we got there they said they couldn’t accommodate us and we would have to come later. Only after much back-and-forth did they accommodate us. Show was incredible though…would highly recommend.

Fantastic performance but racist service

The actual performances were absolutely fantastic and reasonably priced. The only issue my partner and I had was with the staff at the little restaurant you get drinks at before the show. They told us that food was not allowed into the performance area. However we saw them allowing multiple people to have food. Even after my husband inquired about food a second time asking only if we could get some chips to take in they told us no. After the performance had already started the same man who had told us we can not take food inside brought food into the performance to give to a couple. And also allowed some latecommers to bring in food. I hate to conclude the only reason for this is because we were the only people of color there. He happily catered to the white and Asian customers and not us. This definitely put a sour note to the expirence.

Wonderful evening

Amazing! Authentic! The venue was historic and lovely, and the performers were passionate about their art and culture. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and felt this show was a GREAT value.

Perfect Barcelona Experience

Wonderful evening with family. It was a perfect Barcelona experience. We enjoyed the professional performers while sipping a glass of wine. A great time was had by all.

AMAZING

Wow, this show was incredible and is a must see. I think the middle grade seats would have been fine since it’s such a small theater. The dancers were amazing and so passionate, the music and singing by the band was wonderful. The theater is in a really cute area too, and right across from Moco Museum/ so can do both in 2 hours. Have fun!!!
