Lovely experience!

Carla was a fabulous guide/host, who took us through the intricacies of wine making. The vineyards spectacular, the architecture, ages old, and the food leaving you wanting just a bit more. I had quite a few questions and thankfully, Carla was happy to answer them. Very interactive, very immersive, and you even get to bottle your own wine bottle and take it home. Thoroughly enjoyed. So Much Fun!

Wonderful Experience

We had an excellent time with Gerald! It was just my family due to the off season and so worth it! We loved trying the great cava options and learning about them. We also loved bottling our own. It was a fantastic time!

Awesome Tour

Gerard was our tour guide and it was fantastic. Super sweet guy. Very knowledgeable. Made an effort to answer all of our questions even if he wasn't sure. We got a TON of wine. I mean we had 4 bottles of cava between six people. The disgorgement process was fun and the spot was beautiful. Gerard made sure we got to our train on time and he was just the best ever. Would highly reccomend! So knowledgeable about both the history of the vineyard and the production of wine. Tour was excellent! Highly recommended!!!

Great experience and friendly staff

Had a great experience here and learned a lot about cava and wine production. Very genuine friendly staff. Even when we were delayed due to railroad constructions they were very accommodating. I can only recommend this place for a unique experience

Fantastic and friendly

Great experience, guide, and lunch!

We had a great time on the tour! Our guide, Gerard, was very knowledgeable, generous, and funny. He even picked us up from the train station. It was only the two of us on the tour and this allowed us to learn a lot about the winery and Cava's production process. The ability to cork and label our own bottles was a major plus. Definitely recommend having lunch at the winery as well -- it was one of our favorite meals in Spain! Would recommend this experience to anyone!

Highlight of our vacation!

Hands down one of the best days we spent near Barcelona! Santiago and Carla were fantastic hosts and made it the highlight of our trip. You can tell how much they love the winery. Also, Santiago made us a delicious lunch - it was one of our favorite meals we had in Spain. I genuinely cannot recommend this enough!

Highly recommended!

Our young guide, Gerard, was quite good and made this a fun day. Because it was a small group and we were sitting at a table, we got to know the other participants and enjoyed the conversation. The winery was generous with the Cava and we tasted three varieties. Then we bottled our own Cava to bring home. The historic house is interesting and we recommend staying for lunch in the garden. This was a very enjoyable day all around.

Fantastic experience!

The organization of the tour was fantastic. The guides are very responsive before the tour and even picked us up from the train station. At the vineyard, we did a cava tasting, went through the production facilities and even finished a bottle of cava for ourselves. In the end, we enjoyed a fantastic lunch! Highly recommend this tour! Great tour, great lunch and great experience.

Very knowledgeable and passionate guide. Great balance of activities with tour/history the cava tasting, then a bit more tour then bottling our own cava. Plenty to taste and enjoyed all the cavas. We stayed afterwards for the bbq lunch. This was incredibly good value with unlimited drink. We had typical Catalan onions to start with then bbq meats with bread, tomatoes and white beans. Selection of desserts and coffee also provided. At the meal beer and wine were also served . We were offered more food but didn’t have space. Great day out. Left about 3pm with our bottles of cava which we are stilll enjoying.

Amazing experience and great tasting Cava

My Wife and I booked the Create your own Cava experience at ArtCava whilst having a short stay in Barcelona. We were kindly met by Santiago at the local train station who gave a small local tour on the way to ArtCava, explaining about the vines and local area and taking us to a high viewing spot for a gorgeous view of the surrounding area. His enthusiasm for his area, cava and work made our time with him extra enjoyable. The Cava tasting was brilliant and they all tasted really good, the bottling was great fun with a bottle each to take away and lots of knowledge learned about Cava and a really enjoyable lunch as well, possibly the best food we ate whilst on holiday. We also had the pleasure of meeting an American tourist who popped by to buy some wine and was able to sample the cava before buying (Eddie - I hope all is well). All in all, a fantastic personal experience at ArtCava and a definite highlight of our city break. Moltes gràcies Santiago.

This was AWESOME!!!! Informative, a bit of history and the process behind the art of winemaking and delicious wines to taste! Gerard was delightful and walked us through the process like a seasoned pro. Creating our own bottle of cava was the highlight of our trip to Barcelona.

Informative and tastefull cava experience

Our tour and wine tasting were outstanding. Eric provided a full explanation of the cava process. Eric showed us the disgorgement process and even allowed me to try it. As an amateur winemaker this was fantastic. They make really good cava (concordance gold in my opinion).

My husband and I are well traveled. This experience was one of the best we've had and certainly one we'll always remember. Santiago and Carla were charming hosts. We adored learning about Cava, tasting the product, and trying our hands at bottling it ourselves. Trust us- you don't want to miss out on this experience.

Sensational tour, esp Carla!

Our tour guide host was Carla and she is absolutely incredible. First impressions before even arriving at the winery was how warm and friendly Carla was and extremely welcoming. Upon arriving it was clear that Carla is extremely passionate about wine/cava, a clear expert in her field and a real ambassador of the brand. It was lovely to experience her passion firsthand and also her clear pride working for the brand. I felt like we learnt a lot and it was truly fascinating information. I'm by no means a wine connoisseur but the passion was infectious and I'm not considering learning more about wines in general! During the tasting itself, we had the luxury of it just being us (2 of us) plus Carla therefore the setting was intimate and so much fun. I cannot recommend this tour enough!! Carla- what a absolute credit you are to the industry/field and of course you company. You ignited in me an interest I've never had before so truly a personally profound experience and encounter with you!! Thank you for everything, that was our best experience of our holiday!!

Amazing experience!

Quite simply amazing! From start to end, Carla (our sommelier) provided the most amazing experience - this has been the highlight of our trip! Not only was Carla knowledgeable about the Cava production process, she was also able to take us on the journey of the history behind Cava and it’s production in the region. It was a truly insightful experience. The selection of Cava we were able to taste, was fantastic and was only topped by the engaging and natural conversation. Carla was a great host. Our time at Cellar Can Batlle and learning about cava was better than we expected--and the food was great too. The location is very accessible by train from Barcelona and the staff very responsive. We want to go back!

Something different that you will love!

We had a fantastic day out at Art Cava. It was a wonderfully personal experience (there were just two of us on the tour). We were taken around by the passionately energetic Santi who explained the history of the venue and the region. He even humored us by letting us try to speak in Spanish throughout. We also met Eric briefly and there was another lady who drove us to and from the station (apologies for forgetting your name but you were very nice!). The venue feels authentic as do the staff and the Cava is lovely. We went for the paired foods tour which was very nice. Sealing and labelling your own bottle is also a nice touch. I would highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic Cava Tasting experience!

This was the absolute highlight of our trip to Barcelona! Carla, our host, was entertaining, informative and staggeringly generous with the non stop, free flowing Cava during the tour and lunch after. The food was excellent, the setting is beautiful and this tour is the best value for money of any activity during our visit. If you like fizzy wine, food and spending a long lazy afternoon chatting and drinking, then a visit to Artcava is a no-brainer.

The other Spain

Cava is a very small winery, it is not one of the industrial ones. This was a very small tour, only 2 couples, which was perfect. In the time we were there, we learned about the winery, cava, and production. Part of the facility tour included our creating our own bottle of cava. We all stayed for a home-cooked meal. They make everything easy, from booking to transportation to and from the train. The hostess was wonderful, the other couple was friendly, and the entire experience was interesting and outside of the normal touristy things. We highly recommend you give it a try if you'd like to get outside of the city for a relaxing and interesting day.

Carla was a DELIGHT!

What a day! My family and I went to ARTCAVA to celebrate my 31st Birthday over Thanksgiving in 2021. Carla, our lovely host, was an absolute delight! She was informative, conversational and supportive through the Cava making process. We learned a lot about the process and the history of the vineyard which was a great start to our day. We then divulged in some lovely tastings and great conversation throughout the 3 cavas we tried. We then went to the production area to bottle our own "self-made" bottles. After making our bottles and shipping them home (which I highly recommend to commemorate your experience, she offered to drive us into town and suggested a nice late lunch restaurant. Would DEFINITELY visit again!

Amazing

Absolutely incredible day at Artcava. Not only was the Cava excellent but I lost count of how many tastings I had consumed. The tour was full circle, from learning about the history of the estate to completing the bottling process (which you got to keep) it was a complete Cava experience. Our tour guide was incredible and she served us an incredible traditional Catalan lunch.

Fun filled cava experience in a beautiful setting

Our experience at Artcava was amazing. It was a very easy journey and we were kindly picked up from the train station when we arrived. After an in-depth tour and explanation of the winery and surrounding wine region of Penedes, we tasted several different cavas and sat in the beautiful garden setting whilst discussing the different flavours and smells. The activity of creating our own cava was lots of fun and we learnt a lot too! We made our own bottle each to take home. Our guide Carla was fantastic, charismatic and made our experience so much fun... she was the best part of the trip! We then enjoyed a 3 course lunch which was delicious and accompanied with more delicious cava.... a perfect day! We would highly recommend as any day trip , it was great value for money and was also very safe regarding Covid protocol. Thanks so much!!!

An afternoon in the vineyards

Myself and my partner had the most wonderful experience at ArtCava with the host Erik. From the moment we arrived we were treated as friends, after being picked up from the train station we explored the vineyards and learnt so much about Cava and the process of how its made. There was much attention to detail and we tried many different Cavas before choosing our own to bottle ourselves! The team handled the COVID situation with great care and followed all the safety measures to keep us safe. Overall an amazing afternoon with fantastic company and a whole load of knowledge to bring home. I can highly recommend this fantastic experience! 10/10 Thank You to Erik!!

Perfect!

Our group of four visited the Artcava winery for a private tour. Ramon took pride in showing us around the old farmhouse building, and explaining the craft of making cava. We then were served a most delicious Catalonian lunch, where we could continue to appreciate the four different cava varieties pairing them with the home made tapas. We were all amazed at how truly refreshing cava is and how little we felt the alcohol. Even the non- wine drinker among us. This couldn’t be better proof of the quality of the cava. When we left, we all knew that cava would be a new staple to enjoy any time, but especially on warm summer days. We had a wonderful experience at the Artcava winery and can highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a unique experience where one is made to feel like a VIP or a new best friend!

Something a bit different in Barcelona!

Fabulous trip! As we had all been to Barcelona before and had done all the sights we were looking to do something a bit different this time round. Our group of 6 took the train from Barcelona (very easy) and were met at the station by Ramon. We started with a beautiful rustic lunch. Simple but really tasty dishes with lots of cava and no rush to move on. Ramon was a great guide for our tour of the house, vineyard, cellar and cava tasting and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip having learnt so much about cava including the role the glass plays in the whole cavalry drinking experience. Looking forward to receiving the bottles we corked and labelled ourselves as well as the others we ordered 😊 Will definitely be recommending this to our friends!

Best Day Trip From Barcelona

My husband and I did the tour and lunch in November and it was the best day of our vacation. Ramon is a great tour guide and has an energy that gets you excited as soon as he meets you at the train station. We generally don't do tours on holiday, but this looked too good to pass up. We were right. Ramon took us on a tour around the grounds, as well as showing us the entire Penedes region from a hillside. There were five total on our tour and we tasted a total of 5 Cavas. We had all but one before lunch. If you can, be sure to book the optional lunch as well. The simple meal was perfect and the meats paired well with the cava. I am gluten free, and the winery had some bread just for me :-) After lunch we completed the tour, disgorged, corked, and labeled our cava. We took our bottles to Valencia and enjoyed them a few days later from our balcony overlooking the Sea. We felt right at home at ArtCava and would have happily stayed a few more days to enjoy more great wine, food, and company! Take the Placa Catalunya train R4 to Lavern Subirates. About 50 minutes train time. Plan ahead as we went on a Saturday and the trains were running about 10 minutes late. Don't miss this unique day trip.

Brilliant experience

Not your typical cava tour! The tour was great and the setting was absolutely beautiful! Ramon, our guide, was amazing and had so much knowledge, he had our group laughing from start to finish. The bottling of your own cava was a great added touch and so much fun! Was one of the best experiences we had during our time in Barcelona. Would highly recommend to anyone!

A must do!

If you are looking for a unique experince, this is for you. Communication from Artcava prior to booking was exceptional. Ramon (one of the owners) scooped us up at the train station and before the winery tour began, took us on a trip through his village all the while explaining the region and ecology of the area. When we arrived at the vineyard we received a spactacular tour of the estate before our (very generous) cava tasting. After the tasting we explored the cellars and then bottled our very own cava to take home with us! This company's customer service and dedication to their craft shine through in what they do! Don't overlook this experience. PS: if unfamiliar with the train stations please give yourself ample time.

Best Experience and Carla was the best tour guide!!

We visited Artcava in April 2018 with my mum and sister as part of my mums birthday celebrations. We were joined up with two other girls which was lovely as still felt really intimate. It really is one of the best experiences I have had and continue to talk about to this day. From the ease of booking and arranging transport from the station to learning about the cava and seeing Carla’s passion about the history of the building and vineyards it really was the best day. We booked the 10.30 tour and we were there ALL day but it was perfect. I would definitely recommend the lunch too, totally made the experience for us. We never felt like we had to go home and honestly felt like we could’ve stayed even longer than we did!! Hoping to book again next year in Feb for a girls birthday celebration weekend. Would love for my friends to also have the artcava experience and the great chats with Carla. Thank you!!

Excellent

One Friday evening we took a train from Barcelona to ArtCava. We had a booking. We had considered taking a tour in one of the bigger cava wineries of the region, but were extremely happy that we chose this one, instead of them. I could not recommend more warmly!

The best visit of our entire trip!

Amazing experience! We had the opportunity to only have our guide Ramon for our selves. He was an amazing guide and made the experience 10/10! Very nice to talk to and very passionate about his job! His enthusiasm spread joy! The visit was a bit longer than advertised, something which we enjoyed since we loved every second of it! The tasting was great, especially since it was only the three of us (including Ramon). We had the opportunity to taste 5 different Cavas! All different from one another. The house where the visit takes place has a lot of history and makes the visit just slightly more passionate and exciting! We booked our visit with the lunch. It was great and felt as if it was prepared by our guide Ramon himself. Equally passionate about food and culture as for cava! The food was fresh and as we sat for lunch and enjoyed the moment, we still had questions and almost wished he would be there with us so that we would ask him and hear him speak about his passion. Overall a great, personalised, and passionate visit. The staff is what makes this special! I strongly recommend a visit tour to Artcava

The perfect experience for couples or groups!

We visited Artcava during our stay in Barcelona, and we did not regret it. Ramon is a fantastic host and everything was great. If you are looking for something to do whilst not sunbathing - visit this place (and get the free pickup from the station!)

A step above other tastings / tours

We went as a family group of six with mixed ages (from 34 up to 75). Two of us have done quite a lot of wine tastings and tours over the years (we tend to book our holidays around them rather than the other way round), and this was up there with the best we’ve ever done. It’s a very intimate experience, done at a leisurely pace, with generosity in time and servings (we had the tasting and lunch). Making your own cava was fun at the end, but what we appreciated most was the tasting. Ramon really explained not only the wines and their production but also wine tasting itself, and a lot about the history (and current politics!) of the region. It was presented so clearly, articulately and passionately that it was a great experience - we all learnt a lot, having started with very mixed levels of knowledge about wine in general. The artisan cavas are great (although having bought some of the “specials” I’d recommend asking about those as well) and the lunch was also brilliant (the sausages I am still trying to replicate). Strongly recommend it for both oenophiles and more casual wine drinkers.

Informative and fun

This was our 3rd trip to Barcelona and we were looking for something different to do. The Artcava experience did not disappoint!! We missed the train to the meeting spot but the hosts guided us in and were able to wait for us to join the group (they ate and drank while waiting). After going through the beautiful old building, we sampled a variety of cava (some water would have been nice though) and learned a lot about the differences between champagne, cava, prosecco, etc. Then, we each got to put in the cork and wire cage on our favorite cava type to take home. How fun! We thoroughly enjoyed everything about this experience.

YES YES YES

I am so late in writing this review but it's one of those things where i really wanted to sit down and write. THANK YOU ArtCava for showing us a wonderful day and creating an overall amazing family experience. The owner was captivating as he spoke about Cava and Barcelona traditions - we drank, asked a lot of questions, toured, bottled and labeled our own cava to take home, and were prepared a farm to table delicious lunch .. and it rained but we still had fun! Everything from booking to getting there and back was pre-arranged, easy, and very professional.

You have to experience this!

Carla spent the day with us during our Cava Making experience, she has been absolutely amazing and shared so many insights. She's a lot of fun and we had so many laughs. I would absolutely recommend this over and above any of the other tourist experiences available in Barcelona. We opted in for the Rustic lunch and we were give our own private lunch in the ancient farm house with the most delicious food prepared by Ramon. Thank you to the ArtCava team for making this one of our most memorable experiences.

The Best!

My visit to Art Cava with Cava maker and owner, Eric Enguita, was the single most memorable experience of my trip to Catalonia. The winery itself is beautiful - - steeped in history and artifacts. The Cava produced is delicate, dry and delicious. Eric is knowledgeable, delightful, and passionate about his wine. Each of these things when added together creates an experience that is more than the sum of its parts. In addition, the opportunity to disgorge and cap your own bottle of wine while learning about the entire process of making Cava through the traditional method is fun and enriching. When visiting Barcelona this stop should be on your itinerary. It is truly a unique and awesome experience.

fantastic day, a world away from the tourist trails of Barcelona

Prebooked this tour from UK and all the arrangements went perfectly. We did check out how to get from the port in Barcelona to the correct platform for Subirates. This was essential, or maybe we're just a bit slow at working it out, and was the trickiest bit of the whole expedition. Ramon collected us from the station and drove us to a hilly prominence for an overview of the area. Then on to the estate. Ramon was so interesting about the amazing old house and all things Cava. We downed at least 4 glasses of Cava in differing glasses [and not thimbles either] . Then walking fairly well, through to the bottling plant where we bottled and labled our favourite tipple. A wonderful and unique day out - thanks Ramon.

Amazing Experience

Our tour was with Eric Enguita Albet, who is one of the owners of the ArtCava. My wife is the Cava fan and to be honest, I did not have an understanding of what Cava was relative to other sparking wines or champagnes. However, this was one of the best experiences we had while in Spain. Eric was nothing but kind, helpful, and made us feel at home. He is knowledgeable in this subject and will help you understand the art of making Cava. Furthermore, the tastings were amazing and we opted to stay for lunch (which I would highly suggest you do). Lunch is a bit extra, but worth it. You also get to come home with a bottle of Cava (1 per person) that you bottled yourself. Thank you so much for this experience, it was unforgettable.

Fantastic Unique Experience

From the moment we met Eric at the train station we felt really special as he is such an amazing articulate host with a very special story he is passionate about sharing. The winery is set in the most beautiful location and has a fantastic history which is explained as you stroll through the buildings on the tour. The cava making process was explained in an interesting and informative way. Be able to make you own bottle was fun. Tasting the different Cavas with Eric explaining the how the process is used to get the variety in flavours Don’t think this tour is for wine buffs it really is a fantastic experience for all. Already planning our return visit!

Unique and Personalized Experience

I went to this experience with two of my family members and we all loved it! Ramon met us right at the train station and was very helpful in guiding us through the Barcelona public transportation system. Once we arrived we were shocked by the beauty and history of the property. Ramon was kind, knowledgeable and took the time to get to know us. I would recommend this to anyone, it was a once in a lifetime experience and I am so glad we got to go. Oh, and the Cava itself was AMAZING; the best Cava I've ever had.

Amazing , Beautiful and unique Experience.

Visited ArtCava with two of my friends in Apr 2018 and it was one of the most unique experiences. We traveled from Barcelona by train ( approx an hour ) . It was a scenic drive from the station to the location- the weather was bright and sunny and perfect to taste some different Cava's. The host was wonderful and and the entire experience was fun and amazing. We even had lunch - despite of being a vegetarian the food was very good. The " Art Cava Tour " was highlight of our Spain trip . Highly recommended if you looking for an unique and fun experience,
