Costa Brava Kayak & Snorkel Tour + Picnic from Barcelona

The guides said wave conditions were too dangerous to kayak so we walked over a mile to get to snorkeling in a wet suit. Then on the bus ride home a guy who was too drunk threw up on the bus and it got all over me and my bag.

Great team working

Even though it was a cloudy day with intermittent light rain it was super fun and we enjoyed the cliff jumping the most.

Amazing experience

It was absolutely amazing! The guides we’re very nice and helping! It’s a great activity sport! and the views were amazing as well!

Book it!

The meeting point was super easy to find and our guide Mara welcomed us. We had a wonderful time kayaking, cliff diving and snorkeling. Both Mara and Rodrigo were excellent. We took a break for lunch and then came back to Barcelona where beer and sangria awaited us. Absolutely recommend this experience!

Very nice experience

We had a whale of a time, Doni and Santi were so friendly and helpful. The tour price with the experience of kayaking and snorkeling was great. Highly recommended 👍 Instead of paying for tourist traps in Barca, try this 😉

A great experience!

A great day trip from Barcelona! We had the best time kayaking and snorkeling. The bus was comfortable and easy to find the meeting point. All the tour guides were very kind & knowledgeable. Special shout out to our group leader Donny!

Very well managed Right from the bus to the experience in Costa Brava Left fairly on time to reach Costa Brava Wetsuits, kayaks, snorkeling gear were provided and decent quality Guides were super helpful Turkey and vegetarian sandwiches were provided Overall a fantastic experience

Not fun ruined a whole day of trip

We should not have been out on the water in my opinion. The waves were way too choppy for novice kayakers. At one point we lost the people Infront of us and our guide behind us. This was not relaxing at all we were not able to enjoy ourselves at all. When we finally got to the cove areas it wasnt even worth snorkeling we were so tired from paddling the waves and trying not to tip. The snorkeling was poor nothing to see and the reef area was dead. Made for a nice break to catch our breath from the extreme kayaking. Instructor yelled at a pair of foreigners who got swept up in the waves and almost hit their heads against the rocky cliffs. Scary and stressful tour would not do again.

Beautiful views, tough waters but a great memory. Mara and the other guide were great. Met some great people.

AMAZING TOUR!!

FANTASTIC TOUR! Highly recommend to anyone looking to have some FUN while in Barcelona! My tour guide for this tour was Gabriel! He was very attentive to our needs from the moment we arrived at the meeting point and the moment we got dropped off. This tour was one of the highlights of my Spain trip. 100% recommend to anyone!! You won't regret it!

Beautiful outdoor activity

Very enjoyable experience that my friends and I will always remember. The views were absolutely gorgeous and it was beginner friendly.

Picturesque kayaking.

It was great being on the water. Our guide, Martin, took very good care of everyone! He adjusted the level of difficulty for those of us who needed help.

Athletic adventure

Beautiful azure blue Mediterranean waters highlight this trip. However, this is NOT a “day at the beach”—it is a 2 1/2 to 3 sea kayaking trip. We are a bit older and did not anticipate the intensity of the kayaking and the athletic ability needed for this excursion. The guides Jose, Gabriel and Martin were outstanding with superior kayaking skills and lots of humor. Martin said to the group: We want you to all have fun today, let us (the 3 guides) take care of everything else. They were also personally helpful to my wife and I with the kayaking, “towing” us at one point!

Irresponsible gide

Our group of 18 people was split into two groups. Our gide was great and funny, but the gide from the other group looked like a grumpy 20y/o. At our second stop we got an apple from our gides. The gide from the other group handed out the apples while staying in the kayaks. When he playfully threw an apple to a guy it fell into the water and when the guy tried to grab for it the kayak flipped. The woman that was also in the kayak began to panic because she couldn't get back in the kayak and probably also due to the shock. The whole time she tried to get back into the kayak the gide didn't help or even asked how she was doing or if she hurt herself (because she fell close to his kayak). Instead he just looked away with a smirk on his face. Later he and his group, except for the couple that fell into the water, also came to the beach. After 20 minutes or so he decided to go back to the couple and disconnect their kayak from the rest so they could go back already, alone and unsupervised... To me and my partner this just seemed very irresponsible. Ofcourse this is the action of just one person and not the organisation as a whole.

Not worth the price or the experience

This trip is very overpriced for the offering. First of all, of the “6 hour” day trip as noted in the description is in fact 3 hours of travelling (there and back) and 3 hours of the actual experience. The entire experience itself was very rushed, you could not take an easy kayak, take any pictures or even take in the surroundings while you were kayaking, you had to power through down a strip. If you fell behind, the guide would “taxi” you (tying your kayak to theirs). The snorkelling was probably about 30 minutes of the full time (which was also a rushed experience) and the snorkelling gear was of a low quality - you couldn’t see clearly under the water. The lunch provided was also poor and not what you would expect given the price of the trip. And again, the time given for the lunch was very short, you had to wolf down the sandwich just to get ready for the bus. Please also note, no bottled water was provided. The trip consisted of bus ride, 5 minutes to change, kayak up, snorkel, kayak down, snorkel (could cliff dive as well but you could either cliff dive or snorkel as there “wasn’t time” for both) and then a kayak back to the beach whereby a sandwich was provided. You got another 5 minutes to get dressed and then head to the bus. Very disappointing. Would not recommend.

Really fun day trip!

This was such a fun activity, I’ve never been kayaking before but their instructions made it clear what to do. Jose was a great instructor and it was a lot of fun, we had plenty of time to swim and snorkel too which was great.

Not Exactly as Described

Great and friendly guides but Viator definitely oversells it. The beaches were hardly secluded and the caves they mention (that were the main draw for me) don’t exist. It was a fun enough activity but nothing I couldn’t have done at home. Not the best use of your time in Barcelona especially if you’re coming from far away.

Fun day on the water!

Beautiful coastline, with sea visibility that went on forever. The conditions were favorable and the guides were personable and knowledgeable. They insured a fun safe time was had by all. Bring extra bottled water to rinse yourself with afterwards. The drought conditions make it so there is no public water use afterwards.

Great outing with Jose

This is a great trip , Jose our guide is a first class bloke. Went out of his way to make sure we were well looked after. The kayaking and diving was an easy and relaxing trip that is suitable for all. Met very nice people and all had a free beer / Sangria after at the Kulas Tapas bar .

Great afternoon

We had a fun afternoon with our teenage daughters. The water was rough, but guide was very competent in helping us get to areas we could snorkel.

The accompanying team was very nice and ready to help, well organized and made time for everyone. The experience was very nice despite the bad weather, but the team was also equipped with a boat to help those who could not continue rowing.

Sunny day trip to Costa Brava

The bus ride was scenic to Costa Brava, once we got to the beach the kayak instructors went through safety tips. Once out on the water we stopped at 2 places where you could swim, snorkel and cliff jump.

This tour was a great one! Our tour guide was amazing… kayaking at Costa Brava was one of our favorite part of the trip, would definitely book it again!

Nice day out - solo traveller

The overall experience was really good, I was not sure after reading some reviews, but the tour guide was really good and friendly in addition the little beaches we visited were really nice! I went alone and was coupled with another person without problems. I’d recommend it, yes.

Amazing overall activity!

Amazing overall activity! First time we booked the weather was bad and we received the money back immediately. When I wanted to book again in there we many options left. The gear they provide is well maintained, kayaks are nice and the guides make it even more fun!

Great day out on the water!

We had a great day out on this trip. The coach was comfortable and our guide, Martin, was helpful out on the water. The kayaking and snorkelling were a lot of fun for all my family (including 2 teenagers)! The lunch was fine (a sandwich and small muffin). There are only 2 toilets for all of the people on the coach to get changed, so I recommend changing before you go. Also, the sand is very coarse so flip flops would be helpful when walking on the beach! All in all, a great day out!

This trip was fantastic. The tours were so well organized and the leaders were attentive and experienced. The snorkeling was beautiful—sea urchins, sea cucumbers, tons of fish, and the opportunity to try a cliff dive/jump! Do this trip and see outside the city.

Great way to spend a day

By booking this tour, you are purchasing a bus ride to a beach on costa brava, a kayak rental, a sandwich, and then a ride back to the meeting point. If that’s what you are looking for, this is your tour. There’s not really a personal touch or a guide that will describe what you are seeing or where you are going. The guides are more so caretakers. Even when you go out to the water and kayak, they do not help you get in and out of your kayak for snorkeling or make sure you are not falling way behind them along the coast. We enjoyed it nonetheless.

Most memorable was easily how amazing the spot that the tour guide takes you to. The kayaking is a great work out and after that you have a fantastic snorkelling experience.

Went kayaking and snorkelling with my sister which was great fun! The tour guides were fantastic, special thanks to Tristan and José. They also accommodated me with a vegan sandwich upon my request which was lovely! 10/10 experience and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a day trip from Barcelona :)

Amazing time at the beach

It was a beautiful day at the beach. We had so much fun with our group. We made new friends while kayaking and snorkeling. The water was beautiful!! Tien out guide was wonderful. It was the highlight of our trip.

Great Excursion!!

It was amazing! Jose and Oscar gave a great tour, great jokes, great interaction, and a GREAT time! The location was beautiful, and the experience was like no other. It was a great first day of our honeymoon!

Must experience

Guides were very friendly and helpful. Such a fun experience whether you are alone or with a group. We did get back 90 min late which is the only reason for being a star down. We had to cancel other reservation we had.

Beautiful water

My daughter and I enjoyed this excursion a lot. The weather was beautiful, the water wasn't too rough (some small waves), but not too bad. The water was super cold, but that was no fault of the guide. Still, we jumped in to float and take pictures on the rocks. We didn't care to snorkel, so I can't comment on the fish. Our guide on the bus was super friendly and easy to talk to (can't remember his name), and the guide at the kayak was great. He was also friendly, easy to talk to, and gave good information about Costa Brava.
