City Sightseeing Barcelona Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour

Great sights.

Too many people. Bus stops were marked but you had to look for them and walk a ways for some of the attractions. Park Guell was uphill a long ways, for anyone who has mobility issues.

Great way to see the city

The bus takes you around to most of the interesting places. The explanations are very useful. All is fine, except that at some stops the lines are too long and wait time unacceptable.

Buses would not let you...

Buses would not let you on board. Waited at stop for over an hr. Walked to another atop still no pickup.

Great orientation around Barcelona

Being able to have an orientation around the city and choose where you want to hop off. Not long waits for bus either.

Good value

When we visit a new country, we always enjoy a trip on the hop on hop off buses to get a taste of the place we are visiting. We also wanted to visit Parc Guell and the Barcelona Football Club, and as these were quite a fair distance to walk to, we decided to use the bus to get us there. Our 24hour ticket allowed us to go on either the blue or red route at any point in the day. The buses are quite popular so can get busy but the staff don’t over fill the buses with people and there are always plenty of seats on the top for people to sit in. If you did have to wait for the next bus, you only have to wait about 5 minutes before the next one arrives. You are provided with earphones to hear the audio tour which is informative - I possibly would have liked a little more information, that’s why I gave it only 4 stars. This is definitely good value for money and well worth it for getting you to attractions with ease.

Convenient way to see what you want to see!

This was a great way to see the city - especially with kids/teens that weren't interested in every single stop. We could listen to the audio while riding the bus and learn about the places where we decided not to get off. Then we would hop off at the places of interest to us and then hop back on. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus to come.

Montserrat tour

It was a very nice tour. The bus and ride were very comfortable. Enjoyed the diversity of all the stops. Enjoyed the scenic bus ride, especially the mountain roads. I'm 77; the walking and stairs in each location were on the upper limit of my mobility; but I was able to negotiate it okay. The lunch stop in Girona was enjoyable; got a chance to talk to other travelers and our tour leader. For people unfamiliar with the city, the system for departure and dropoff was worrisome. You have to depend on folks taking you to the right place, how long it's gonna take to get there, and how much it should cost. We almost got directed to the wrong place. It was the same for getting "home". Didn't know where we got dropped off, how to get "home", how long it was gonna take, and what it should cost

Excellent way to travel around the city

We were able to see all the major sights in the short time we had in Barcelona! Took both the red and blue routes. Highly recommend.

Purchased tickets through this site, did not receive tickets in email Had to purchase another 2 tickets at departure point - this delayed our departure Was refused refund by TRIP ADVISOR / VIATOR despite payment taken but no tickets received Be very careful - do not buy tickets unless you want to waster your money and time !!! Better to just buy direct from company - safer and guaranteed Very disappointed and leaving this site 😡

Hop on hop off tour

Mum and I pre booked this from UK, I’d advise not too as this trip is very weather dependent. The day we had booked Barcelona had a day of the most torrential rain I’ve ever experienced. This meant we had to be seated downstairs which in my opinion did not allow you to have a clear view of the sites. The commentary on the bus was very informative. I would recommend but as I say don’t pre book. I would definitely use again!

Great intro to Barcelona

We had taken a similar tour a few years before and it's a great way to get an introduction to Barcelona. It's easy to spend 6-8 hours seeing different sights and exploring. Between the 2 separate lines, the circuit alone can take a couple of hours each just riding around. Afternoon traffic can be an issue. We bailed on the last 3 stops to just walk up La Ramblas from the Columbus statue. Probably saved us an extra hour sitting in traffic just to get to the other end.

Easy ride around Barcelona

The bus was convenient to see and get around Barcelona. The open top was nice to get pictures of all the wonderful architecture and sites around. My only criticism is I wish the audio had a bit more information on the city. The museum and other tours seem to capture more about the wonderful history and with the amount of time on the bus I feel like more can be gained.

Do it! You won’t regret it.

It is very convenient way to see the places you want to see. It is raining and hard to get around but manage to see the important places.

Convenient but not high quality

A convenient way to see the city. The stops are a little far apart from each other and the audio tour is very muffled and not easy to understand unfortunately so we did not really utilize this part of the tour which we really wanted to hear.

City sights

Excellent way to see the city and get your bearings and also know what you what to go back and see, if you don’t get off on the initial way round. We took it for two days. Second day getting off to visit different places. Very frequent.

An amazing city tour.

It was a great and a lovely experience in joining the hop on, hop off sight seeing city tour around Barcelona.

Underwhelming

The bus is a good way to get a quick view of what you can see and do in Barcelona. That being said, I've been on much better hop-on-hop-off bus tours in other cities. This one was somewhat disappointing, especially the audio narrative. We bought the two-day ticket, but could have gotten by with a single day, since we only used the bus to get an overview of what was available in the city and did not use it to actually go anywhere. In addition, the seats were uncomfortable. I am tall and my knees were right up against the seat in front of me. All told, I was disappointed.

Barcelona by Bus

What a wonderful way to see, experience and get to know a city!!! It was wonderful. We were able to do the routes in their entirety, pick out the stops we wanted to hop off at, then on our second time around we did just that. So easy and seamless.

Great introduction to Barcelona.

Most highly recommended. We first took the Red Line for the full loop, then the Blue Line, stopping at several sights enroute. The Hop-On is the best way to get an introduction to the city at the start of the visit. Friendly and professional staff. Busses are clean and comfortable. Audio equipment works great.

Very Disappointed

Very disappointed in this tour. The bus was very hot and the driver and ticket person talked the entire time to each other so loudly. The speaker through the headphones was difficult to hear and could not understand most of what he said. Very disappointed we paid almost $40/person for this tour.

Great way to see the city

Easy to use and a great way to get the city highlights on limited time. We took the red line in the morning and the blue line in the afternoon, and learned a lot about Barcelona. The ability to hop off the bus and explore what we wanted and then hop back on was fantastic. Thanks for a great day.

A good investment for someone with limited time in Barcelona. Lots of buses to choose from ,so never have to wait to hop on hop off at ANY STOP

Great way to see the city

Loved the off & on option a great way to see the city and get off on your favorite sites The driver and guide lady were very friendly and pleasant , the music was a little too much, we’ve rather hear the history of Barcelona instead of the music.

Ok, not great

Bus was very hot on outside & inside levels. Narration wasn’t great. Good way to get the lay of the land, but not a great way to get to places of interest. I have done hop on/off bus tours of Rome & London that were better

Never was able to use it.

Could only find one bus after searching for a long time and the driver refused to open the door. Never was able to use this service. I would like a refund please.

Great way to see the city highlights - stops off at all the hotspots. Good value too. Very regular service - no long waiting for the next bus - usually in 10/15 mins.

Not bad but not great.

Well worth it but the commentary was a bit disappointing. While I understand the recoded commentary because of multiple languages, it seemed out of timing and out of date. For example it talked about visiting the Barcelona FC and walking in the pitch. The venue is clearly being renovated and you would not be able to see it let alone walk on it.

A lifesaver

It’s a great way to see the city restfully. Also doubles as public transportation. It allows you to get a lay of the land before jumping into things

Missed opportunity, terrible service or lack of service

We did not receive our tickets so $140 was wasted. I messaged the operator 4 times and didn’t receive a response. Only phone numbers to make contact, so life chat or WhatsApp. Very disappointing

Great way to see the city!

Bus is a great way to see the city. Two loops red and blue. Easy to follow, workers are there to help, ask for what you need. Gives phone headset to narrate where you are. The bus is watchful and patient with getting on and off. Once your ticket is printed you get to get on and off as much as you want for the day. I suggest taking the whole loop, then on the second round decide where you want to get off the bus.

BARCELONA YOUR WAY

I love Hop on Hop Off tour buses. I ride them on almost all my vacations. The ease of seeing the city at your pace is always fun. The only complaint I had with this tour bus was the pick up/drop off location are not clearly designed by street locations. As a solo traveler I use Google Maps to guide me when I’m walking. Without an exact locations it was very difficult to get to the next stop.

Comfortable trip around the city

Excellent way to see the city if you have nothing else to do from start to finish, you were able to identify sites to Revisit… An excellent way to get pictures if you were unable to visit a location during your stay

Worth the money. Great way to see everything. Recommend for anyone looking to see all the major sites. Not a long wait once you hop off.

Nice but don’t use it to get around

Bus tour is nice way to see Barcelona. But it’s not any good as a method of transport. Firstly because it only runs in one direction, so if you have to go somewhere behind you, perhaps because it’s the only time slot available for that attraction, it’s a very long walk. Secondly, the bus doesn’t start until near 10am (unless you are getting on at the main square) so we were not arriving at attractions until 11am. Lastly, the bus finishes quite early in the evening. So I would only do the Bus one day, and then use Underground as your mode of transportation.

The stops were not as close to sights as I thought would be. Hard to find stops.

I wish I was on the other city tour bus. I didn’t know I was getting this touristic. The stops were hard to find using map. Our initial stop was 8 blocks from hotel.

Sightseeing made easy.

It was an easy way to see Barcelona without the fear of getting lost. The bus drivers are amazing. I can't believe how they can manover the bus around the crowded, narrow streets. It was a great experience. Thank you.

The scenery, views, and architecture of the city were amazingly beautiful. History info by the audio was very interesting as well.

This was the first time we used the hop on hop off bus. We didn’t know that we can spend as much time hopping on and off the bus for 24 hours. I was given the information that the ticket is only good for 2 hours covering both the red and blue zones. It was a good experience. Thank you…

Barcelona

I liked that there were 2 different routes to take and the 48 hour ticket was useful Some of the stops weren’t nearby which involved some walking. My complaints are that the recordings weren’t always on target for the stops or area and some highlighted sights we drove by so quickly it was difficult to take pictures

It was not a good experience.

Audio quality was poor. Information was limited and incomplete. Stops were too frequent and the driver was extremely slow. It seemed as though he was trying to waste time to keep a distance between the buses. I did the same tour in Athens, Greece and it was much better.

Good, just like most others.

We had a very hard time finding the stops to get on the bus. Didn’t know what sign to look for and walked in circles for 30 min. We had a taxi take us to the first event then got on bus from there. There are many different sight seeing buses. The map doesn't help. Once on the bus tour was fine and using the headphones is a must.
