Barcelona in a Day Tour: Sagrada Familia, Park Guell & Old Town

Michal is funny and relatable. He made this day trip very nice for us. The cathedral was more than inspiring because of the respect that he gave to the people it represented.

Great Barcelona Tour with Olga

Great tour of Barcelona

This was an excellent tour. We only chose it because it was the only one still available with tickets to the Sagrada Familia. We're pleased because this tour was worth the cost. The guide had much useful information and was pleasant and funny.

Best time ever

This tour is definitely worth the moment for the amount of places you can see in one day. It was an amazing time learning about each place ee visited and getting some insight on places to revisit.

Excellent tour and guide.

We had an excellent tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and efficient and we were able to do a lot of things in a very short space of time. I highly recommend the tour, particularly for those spending the day in Barcelona from a cruise ship.

What an interesting tour

Anna was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, friendly, approachable and enthusiastic. I would highly recommend this tour, only disappointment was the park being removed from the tour.

A well organised tour and worth it.

This tour was a great pace and well organised. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and caring. This tour also allowed me to gain entry to Parc Guell and Sagrada Familiar as all the sites to purchase entry tickets showed sold out for days.

Memorable tour

It was one of my most enjoyable tours. Excellent from start to finish, our tour guide Ioanna was so interesting and very knowledgeable. I would definitely book another tour with Viator the experience was worth every dollar.

Extraordinary! We will recommend Miguel to any of our friends who plan to visit Barcelona. Miguel is excellent! We learned so much about Barcelona and Miguel is passionate about his city. It was a wonderful day!

Communication not brilliant

Your experience completely depends on the guide you get. Ours has not been mentioned in any review as of yet. Meetup was initially confusing. Ticket stated there would be someone with a sign saying the tour guy but this was not the case. We were approached one by one asking if we were part of the tour. Some were late and the guide went round and asked random strangers if they were part of the type. This wasted lots of time. We were therefore late to park Guell, barely spending an hour there. The guide was difficult to understand at times. There was not much in the way of explanation. There were multiple points where headcount was lost but this was not noticed by the guide. Often communication was assumed to have been understood without verification, e.g. Where we were going and next meeting points/times. This caused problems later on when the guide wandered off in the park. We were unable to find where they had gone and had to ring the central office to get back in touch (a US number, would have incurred significant charges had I not had a roaming plan). It would have been much simpler for the guide to have rung us as they had our number on file. Entry to venues was generally smooth and the only reason we bought the tour in the first place (both guell and Sagrada Familia had no tickets). The ticket was worth it to see the attractions but the tour was sub par in terms of the guide's organisation and communication. The other reviews seem very positive so we may have just been unlucky with the guide.

The entire day was wonderful; however, Sagrada Familia was by far worth the entire experience! Just awe-inspiring.

Our guide, Miguel, was personable, friendly, super knowledgeable, and a lot of fun as our tour guide! The tour was organized and the overview of the day was clearly communicated. I appreciated all of the knowledge he shared and his enthusiasm and love for Barcelona made the tour a highlight of our trip! Highly recommend!!

The best of Gaudi

Park Guell is a must Gaudi’s vision is that of a genius. Then you move onto Sagrada Familia which in my opinion is Gaudi’s masterpiece. What put it all together and helped you appreciate it was Miguel, our guide. He pointed out so many interesting aspects of both that you would miss if you did it on your own. He was extremely personable and very knowledgeable.

If you have one day do this…

Miguel was an informative, knowledgeable and amusing guide. The walk through the Gothic quarter was easier than usual due to the public holiday but Miguel pointed out aspects, both historical and architectural that we probably would have missed. Having only 18 in the group also made it easy and enjoyable. The arrangements to meet the mini bus to Park Guell and then to the Sagrada Familia went smoothly. Unfortunately the Market was closed due to the public holiday but that was unavoidable. Of course the Sagrada Familia was magnificent. You get time on your own at the end to spend more time to explore. But if you want to go up the tower you need to buy your ticket separately and before you arrive.

Great tour highlighting 3 popular areas of Barcelona. Andrus was a great tour guide and was very knowledgeable. We only had two days in Barcelona, so this tour covered what we wanted to see.

A must tour for your stay in Barcelona.

This tour is a must for first time travelers to Barcelona. Hats off to Miguel, our tour guide, for doing a fantastic job explaining the rich history and injecting humor into his storytelling. We started the day early at the Gothic Quarters in front of the Cathedral of Barcelona. Since it was so early, we were able to take fantastic pictures before it got crowded. We walked around the old Jewish Quarter and walked along the famous La Rambla, which was crowded with locals and tourists celebrating Sant Jordi day (google it and maybe schedule your next trip to Barcelona on April 23rd). We were given about a 15 minute break to check out the Mercado de la Boqueria, which we used to eat a late morning snack. We then got onto a van and took a ride to Park Guell. During the van ride, Miguel would explain historical facts about Barcelona, Parc Guell or any monuments we would be passing by. We skipped the line and entered the park with ease. Miguel explained the significance of the park and gave us free time to roam around and take pictures. We didn't spend a lot of time at the park, but it was enough to get an idea of Guadi as an artist and architect before heading over to the Sagrada Familia. If you have time, I would recommend going back to Parc Guell with lunch and sit on the bench, soak in the views, and listen to live music. We returned by van see the Sagrada Familia. We skipped the line with ease and Miguel did a great job telling us the history and details about the church. He also demonstrated the best way to take pictures, which is helpful for someone like me who doesn't optimize the options on my iphone. You are able to stay in the Sagrada Familia as long as you like, as the tour ends in the church. Some things to take note: Walking: There is a bit of walking in the morning while at the Gothic Quarters, but the amount of walking for the rest of tour is significantly less as it is limited to the Parc Guell and Sagrada Familia. Bathroom: Miguel offers multiple opportunities to use the restroom and let's you know when the next chance will arise. Vendors: There are couple of stops made at shops to either purchase goods and/or use the bathroom. It is not that disruptive to the overall experience and offers opportunity to patronize local shopkeepers. Lunch: There is a short 20 minute break, give or take depending on traffic, before entering the Sagrada Familia, which is the last stop. Either bring something with you to snack on during the car ride, or prepare to eat something quick before entering the church. It's a long day and by the time you leave the tour, it will be around 2-3pm. FYI. This was a great tour on our first day in Barcelona. Miguel was a wonderful guide and gave you plenty of recommendations and tips for your stay. Recommend 10/10

Superficial anecdotes - a rip off

Being told that it was my fault that I couldn’t hear when the guide softly spoke to a circle of people without a microphone system and there were many other people and. I used all around. Superficial anecdotal stories and cute comments about soccer teams.

Sagrada Familia, a structure of Awe….

Great tour. Worth every penny. It was a small group and our tour guide Francesc was extremely knowledgeable. He provided us with small details about structures that we would have never known. Just wonderful!!!

It is 2 tours in one day....

It is 2 tours in one day. Our morning was a small group of 12 and just the right size. Our guide, Giovanna Calore, was outstanding! The best ever! Full of energy, knowledge and personality! There is a great deal of walking, hills and steep stairs…but well worth it! The afternoon was a much larger group however our guide managed it well. Again, knowledgeable and easy to understand. Not strenuous and easily walked. Both are 10 out of 10.

It was raining the day of our tour but our tour guide was very nice and didn't worry about the rain. He knows so much about the history of these 3 places we went to. Park Guell, Sagrada Familia and old town tour. Really amazing and he covered everything with just a day! Great price because it did include the tickets. A really interesting day….

An excellent day exploring Barcelona. Our guide Ioanna did a great job- a really knowledgeable lady. The whole trip operated really smoothly. Had an hour for a lunch break ( I’d have rather had the free time in the Park Quelle to be honest as I felt this part wasn’t long enough). A good sightseeing trip and lots of interesting historical information.

This tour was excellently timed, scheduled and executed. It covers two of the most amazing landmarks of Barcelona with great information and history given. It also allowed you time to wonder off on your own and allow you time to have lunch on your own. All of which made this tour an amazing experience! One of our top experiences in Barca

Miguel was top-shelf quality as a tour guide and historian. This man LOVES his country and people. It was my wife and I's first time in Spain and we walked non stopped to see all of the sites. Miguel called us "Georgia", we had this trip before going on Med cruise. Just remember to keep all of your belongings with you in hand and wear really good shoes. We ended up leaving earlier than we wanted (sorry!), therefore our only regret is not being able to thank you and say goodbye to Miguel for showing us his bright and beautiful city.

Wonderful Tour!

Xavier (sp?) was a great guide and gave many insights to the area as we walked along. The first part of the tour gave me many ideas as to waht I wished to return to later in my trip, and the stops at Parc Guell and Sagrada Familia were incredibly informative and fascinating.

Must visit

Barcelona is a unique city regarding architecture art, culture and culinary Sagrada Family is an architectural masterpiece, must should visit. Do not forget to buy your tickets in advance to skip the long line due to long line of the last minute visitors. The guide was good.

Great day tour of Barcelona

Miguel from The Tour Guy was an enthusiastic guide who really like to share his love of the city and all its charms. He tried to accommodate the many needs of an older group by arranging for shorter routes and places to rest and wait. I learned a lot about Gaudi and his influence on architecture from him. There are a lot of walking at the park, Old Town, and around the Segreda Familia but there is a van to take you from each point.
