Terrible customer service

We tried 4 different times to contact the tour operator, who never responded to our outreaches. If she had, we would have learned that this was a WALKING tour. We showed up, expecting a van, with our luggage and one traveler with a bad knee. There was no way we could do a walking tour and it was too late to cancel and get our money back. A huge waste of money for us.

Liliia takes her job seriously. She knows both the history of the city, as you would expect, but also hidden nooks and crannies and treasures that she has researched and compiled, giving one a unique, refreshing view of the city as you walk around with her. A learning and fun experience!

Wonderful tour

I had a great tour with Ivanna. I'd spent time in Gothic before the tour so Ivanna changed things around to show me special places outside the main spots that I definitely wouldn't have seen myself. She was fun, engaging and with plenty of energy. I would recommend anyone booking a tour with her.

Good tour but someone informal with not a lot of Barcelona knowledge share

A. Teo with Withlocals was an amazing tour guide who was patient, kind and well informed! Highly recommend if you’re in Barcelona! She customized the tour for an 80 year old and a blind man and was very respectful, too.

Walk through the city

We enjoyed a great walk through the city with Krisztina. She took us down alleyways and side streets while teaching us about the history of Barcelona. She is very knowledgeable and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our time!

First time with locals!

Our host was a great guide for the area of the Gothic quarter and Jewish quarter, with a wonderful grasp of the history from the Romans to today. My husband and I enjoyed the "backstory" on the various neighborhoods, houses, cathedrals, and castles we passed, with lots of opportunities to take photos. As this was a fantastic first experience with this type of city guide, I will definitely sign up again with other guides!

A friend in Barcelona

I would highly recomend Ramona who was very knowledgable about the City and all that went with it. She did not bore us with too much ancient history but enough to understand the recent past and its influence on today. We felt as if we were with a friend, and made a friend.

Philippe was the best!

Philippe was the best! He did not give a standard tour guide spiel but went into issues in depth, carefully listening to our questions and comments. We especially loved his input on Catalan independence/autonomy and the Spanish Civil War, topics which most tour guides (and most Spaniards?) would avoid. Personal Touch

Marta brought us into her world of Catalan history, culture, and shopping! She customized our walking tour for our 13yr old and my being on crutches. We enjoyed the personal touch and stories of the neighborhood where Marta grew up.

Great highlights tour!

Sebastian did a great job with the hidden gems/highlights tour. We learned so much and saw so much of Barcelona in such a short time! He is a fountain of knowledge and was entertaining at the same time. I had know idea about the darker side of history he told us about and I didn't know too much about Gaudi and Guell either. He told the story of Barcelona in a timeline that was easy to follow and would refer back to certain things so any new information "clicked" better for us. He was very friendly and spoke loud and clear so he was very easy to understand the whole time. He gave some recommendations for things to check out on our own time when certain spots were closed (we were there on a holiday, May 1). He also recommended a nice restaurant that we went to later that night (El Quatro Gats), which was a great experience! We highly recommend any tour with Sebastian!

Everything we hoped for and more

Alan was a gem! Apart from being friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and helpful, he listened to what we wanted and tailored the tour for us. He went at our pace and took us to places we never would have experienced on our own. We got to have foodie stops, Gaudi stops and sightseeing diversions all of which encompassed both mainstream and off the beaten track experiences. Overall, a wonderful mix of everything we wanted plus he went above and beyond to help us get Sagrada Familia tickets for the next day when we were told they were all sold out for more than a week ahead. We had a great time with Alan and thoroughly commend his excellent service.

Best walking tour ever!!!!

Overall this was a great experience. We got to see iconic architecture and buildings and our guide, Lounis, was very knowledgeable about the origin of such artifacts and history of Spain and Catalonia. We stopped for Churros and they were fresh and delicious.

So worth the money!

10/10 This tour was worth every penny. I got to see so many cool parts of the gothic quarter of Barcelona and my guide Ilona was able to cater the tour to my level of understanding perfectly. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who has never been to Barcelona before, especially if you enjoy history and culture.

Great tour I learned a lot.

Marina had so many things so share. Not just the obvious but many things with an historical story. I learned so much and when I walked around the city the next day I paid attention to the details of architecture she had taught me. She shared so many fun little antidotes. Marina also suggested events and other places for me to go. So many that now I decided I have to come back! Thanks Marina for the great tour.

Great short walking tour for kids

Our kids are 4 and 6 and really enjoyed the tour. It was a great informational activity for their age group and they really participated in the questions and learning. Ellie is great with kids and I would recommend it for families with kids that 4 or older. You should probably have a snack/drink ready for them, although we purchased them while on the tour. The kids are walking/standing most of the time with a couple of places to sit. There is a nice kids park on one side of sagrada Familia and I highly recommend to get entry tickets ahead of time.

With Locals is an awesome guide resource

We are a family of 4 with a 14 and 17 year old. From the moment we met, Moises’ energy was infectious. His genuine love for and extensive knowledge about Catalan and Barcelona permeate the whole tour. He provided a very impressive balance of history and current cultural information and facts. He was funny and flexible and immediately understood what was important to us and then pivoted along the way to meet our interests. He was also very generous with sharing about himself, his own experiences and interests as related to the region and the tour so we felt we got to know him also. If we had known how great he is ahead of time we would have booked him for all our tours in Barcelona. He also provides an impressive list of personal re commendations at the end and we enjoyed a great dinner and awesome bar later that day as a result! We hope to do another tour with him in the future. Couldn’t recommend more!

Gothic Barcelona with Tomas

Tomas was very informative. He knows the city well and took us to hidden spots. He's showed us places to eat, history, architecture and culture. We especially enjoyed seeing the Gothic Cathedral, the Roman columns and walls as well as the place of the Inquisition. We would recommend Tomas for this tour and any of the others he provides. ⁸

Thomas is an excellent guide. He was pleasant company. He guided us to areas that we would never have managed to find on our own. He is very knowledgable, managing to answer all our questions as well as giving us lots of information.

Great walking tour

We really enjoyed our walking tour around Barcelona with A Teo. We had only booked the previous evening, so we didn’t have tickets to go into some of the more famous Gaudi buildings, but we gleaned lots of information from the exteriors, which are so full of details, and it was far more entertaining and in-depth than a stroll around on our own would have been. She also took us into some unusual spots we would not necessarily have thought of: a pharmacy, a bakery, etc, which had wonderful, original Art Nouveau interiors. We can’t stop marveling at how beautiful the city is! Well worth it!

A great tour with an amazing guide

Sebastian is an extremely knowledgable and fun guide. He has a unique ability to tell fascinating stories about Barcelona - the city he’s truly passionate about. He keeps you engaged and shares a lot of fun facts and places and people of Barcelona. And as it was mentioned in many reviews his main goal is to create a route which will perfectly match your needs and interests. 3 hours with Sebastian flew by and next time in Barcelona I’ll definitely take an another tour with Sebastian! And special thanks for your recommendation regarding churros - these were the best churros I’ve ever had!

We had a great time with Ellie on our tour of Barcelona. She was well engaged with our two children, encouraged them to participate, and answered all our questions. She was cognizant of the age range of our children, and paced the tour appropriately! It was great to enjoy a tour with someone who was truly local - the experience felt so much more genuine than a normal tour and we really appreciated it. She is a great host!

Alan is exceptional!

We’re so grateful to have had the opportunity to spend an afternoon with Alan. First, he is warm and welcoming - it felt like we were being shown the city by a friend not a guide. Second, his stories kept all 4 of us (parents and sons in their early twenties) fully engaged for three hours. Alan is a font of historical knowledge and stories that spanned the cultural, architectural, political, industrial, and religious evolution of Barcelona. Our time with Him left us with insights that will make the rest of our visit a richer experience. I chose Elvira because she is from Barcelona and she did not disappoint. She was friendly, responsive, knowledgeable, helpful, and had such a bubbly personality. She offered us plenty of historical tidbits as she showed us around Barcelona. Although I had been to Barcelona before, her hidden gems included all new things I had never seen before or had never noticed before. It was like seeing Barcelona for the first time. She provided a wonderful list of recommended local spots for eating, shopping, and more. She even taught us how to identify the real local eateries versus the tourist traps. We liked her so much that we hired her for a second tour to Montserrat. We highly recommend Elvira if you want to get to know and taste the real Barcelona!

A wonderful morning walk through Barcelona’s history

We met Federico on La Rambla for a 3 hour tour of hidden gems. The tour was very interesting and Federico was super knowledgeable about Barcelona history and its hidden gems. We got much more out of it than expected and are very happy to have chosen this guide! 14.000 steps and heads full of information later, we said our goodbyes at the Arche. Thank you Federico for a wonderful morning in Barcelona. I will never think of Sundays the same way ;)

Gothic Quarter Tour & More!

Teo was fantastic. We learned a lot on the history of Spain as well as seeing the gothic quarter! We had 2 days prior to the tour to explore. Teo definitely shared many interesting parts that were off the traditional tour paths. Great tour!!

What a great tour!

We really enjoyed our tour of the Gothic District with Marcel. He is very knowledgeable and showed us things that we never would have found on our own. He also gave us some great suggestions for things we could do on our own during the rest of our short stay in Barcelona. Marcel truly is one of Barcelona’s hidden gems!

Excellent Walking Tour of Historic Barcelona Hidden Gems w/Private Guide

We loved this 3 hour walking tour through the Gothic Quarter area of historic Barcelona with Marcel! Marcel was very knowledgeable about art, history, architecture, culture and local artisans - as well as providing lots of recommendations for activities & highlights during our time here in Barcelona. He was professional, courteous and friendly. Marcel also made sure to point our new & interesting things as he learned our interests along the way. Lovely tour of Barcelona

We were a group of five ladies who took the ‘Highlights & Hidden Gems’ tour with Marcelo. We had a brilliant time & many laughs with Marcelo. Over more than three hours, we saw many interesting and unusual sights that otherwise we would have missed, and had a lovely time wandering around the Gothic area of Barcelona. Marcelo is an excellent guide and story teller, who is very knowledgeable, funny, relaxed & entertaining. Marcelo gave us many recommendations for interesting places to eat, bars & places to visit – which we enjoyed exploring. He had great advice for ‘free’ and interesting things to do & places to visit. After the visit, we definitely felt that we had made a friend in Barcelona

The tour guides were very conscious of our needs, knowledgeable and friendly. The views were insane, and the horses were perfect for beginner riders. Bring your camera, this memory is a keeper.

The Beauty of Barcelona

Our day with Tomas was amazing! His knowledge about the history of Barcelona was incredible, especially considering we were touring the oldest parts of the city and there were so many significant buildings to see. While we had a pretty quick pace, we needed it to see as much as we did. We wound up returning the next day to take a slower paced walk thru and find even more hidden treasures. We would recommend Tomas to anyone wanting to see and understand the rich history of Barcelona.

Short Stint in Barcelona

Hannah was the absolute best guide for our short time in Barcelona! There were 8 of us who were dead tired from an overnight flight, but Hannah was enthusiastic and kept up interested and was so informative!! I highly recommend her for your tour!
