Totally worth it

I did the Gaudi Tour with Natalia and can totally recommend it. It's a great introduction into the architecture of the city and the way Natalia narrated it, made for an interesting tour. The big finish was the Sagrada Familia.

Most enjoyable

We did the Goudi and modernist tour of Barcelona with Mel just yesterday. We all thoroughly enjoyed the tour and Mel's lively, enthusiastic and knowledgeable delivery of the information. I particularly valued her individual headsets which meant we could all hear perfectly without Mel having to shout above the crowds...definitely we'll worth her investment. Thank you Mel, for a great couple of hours

Fun tour

Mel was such a fun guide. Very informative, had great stories and the tour itself was more than just Gaudi but also encompassed other modernist artists. It was a small group that was friendly and switched on. This went better than I had imagined and definitely recommend Mel's tour. My suggestions would be to have the guide at the meet up spot at least 5 minutes before the start time. I almost missed the tour because I couldn't find anybody there and kept walking around looking for the purple umbrella. Also suggest to have some time for group questions after finishing off at a spot.

Such a fun experience

Mel was such a great tour guide. Very informative and fun. I thought we were only going to cover Gaudi but we covered so much more and with the history and background it was a really memorable experience. Our group was small and nice and we had a great time. My only suggestions are to the tour company/guide is to be at the location at least 5 mts beforehand because I was there and couldn’t find anybody and almost missed my tour because I thought I was in the wrong spot and kept walking around. Also, having time to answer a few questions after each stop would be good.

I did the tour with Michi, interesting explanation and he sometimes put a bit of fun. It's clear that he enjoyed his work cause 2 hours and half of culture and histori of Catalunia flew. I really recommended It!!😇 Martina

Wishing Francisca and all well

I did a tour last year with Francisca in April 2019. I am from Australia and as a solo male traveler was ending a 3 month jaunt around Europe. I just happened upon the tour as they were leaving and Francisca was kind enough to let me join. I also went with her to do the afternoon Gaudi tour. Francisca is beautiful, energetic, knowledgeable and a joy to be with. If you get a chance to do this tour don't hesitate. With all that is happening I just wanted to wish Francisca and you all well and when we get through this I will be looking forward to travelling again and maybe see you in the future. Stay safe.

Marina was amazing! Surprised how much we saw and went for the bar crawl too

Marina was a lovely host and was super friendly and knowledgable. There was about 12 in our group and this was a nice number to stick together and hear everything Marina had to say. We were staying in the area on the tour and found so many nice places we could go back too. We also mentioned we was going to Sagrida Familia but hadnt booked tickets, Marina advised us too so we didnt miss out which was a great tip. In the short break at the coffee shop we were told about other activities the team ran, we decided to go for the bar crawl and had a great time. I would highly recommend Marina x

Fran and Rafa were both great!

We did 3 tours - 1. Free walking tour, 2. Gaudi/Modernism Tour and 3. Biking tour. 1. Free Walking Tour with Francisca: HIGHLY recommend. Fran was amazingly energetic and was a great storyteller. She was super charismatic, super friendly and knowledgable. She had tons of fun facts about the history of Spain, and was great at captivating her audience with her stories. 2. Gaudi/Modernism Tour with Rafael - HIGHLY recommend. Rafa was super knowledgeable and friendly. The tour went on for quite a while- almost 4 hours! Not complaining at all, it was so worth it. He was very very patient with us and had so much information to share. It really made me appreciate the history of art and Gaudi's influence a lot more, and it added a lot of perspective to my visit at La Sagrada afterwards. I'm definitely glad I did this one. 3. Biking tour - not as highly recommended, probably because it was the 3rd tour we did, so the content was a bit repetitive and overlapping at this point. Maybe it's good to do if it's the only tour you sign up for? Otherwise I'd just recommend doing both the first two mentioned above. Biking throughout the city was fun though, as we were able to cover a lot of ground.

Such a great tour, saw the best parts of Gaudi's work and Sagrada Familia. Aidan is a great guide, with loads of knowledge and amazing suggestions! WOULD RECOMMEND!!

Fell in love with Barcelona and Francisca

We initially went on the free tour with Francisca and enjoyed her so much that we signed up for a second one. Enthusiastic, charismatic, and captivating story teller! She told us stories that we would have never known if we didn’t go in the tour. You can tell she absolutely loves the history and architecture. I can’t say enough! I want her to be in all the cities I visit :)

AWESOME Tour guide

I highly recommend this tour especially with Fransica. She’s so full of energy, she makes the tour fun and entertaining, that even people who weren’t part of the group were coming up trying to listen to her talk. She’s full of knowledge about the Barcelona history. I enjoyed my free walking tour so much that I even booked a paid one with her the same day. She also has a website with suggestions on local places to visit for food, shopping, etc. I actually followed a couple of her suggestions for dinner, surprisingly ansd happy that she also has vegan suggestions and she didn’t steer me wrong.

Excellent tour

It was an amazing tour in which she explained a lot about what modernism meant and the factors that shaped Gaudi in becoming what he is today. Super interesting and interactive. I loved it. Keep up the good work!

Gaudi and Modernism walk

This was our first time doing a free walking tour and I would highly recommened it. Our guide Eric was so informative and made everyone in the group feel very welcome and included.

Gothic and Gaudí

I did both the free walking tour and the Gaudí tour and both were excellent. Marina took us through the history of Barcelona and showed us some very interesting places in the gothic quarter and made it all come to life. Also, Alessio was good at pointing out some of the intricacies of Gaudí’s buildings and designs that may not be obvious. Two very good tours that can be highly recommended. And Marina’s restaurant suggestions are invaluable.

Great tour!

Ended up doing 2 tours today with Aidan (free walking tour and the Gaudi tour). Entertaining and informative. Much better than seeing things on my own, with a lot of fascinating bits of history. A+, would go again :D

Amazing experience with amazing Guide

Super helpful guide (Misha) with a lot of knowledge and passion on Barcelona, made the trip super memorable. She was super friendly and gave a lot of insight on the historical sights along with A LOT of visual aids such as Maps and Images of Art work. She also gave multiple perspective on the different Legends. Loved her and the service, super easy to book and very instructive.

Fantastic

It is a must do tour with alessio or 'Alex'. He was very informative and went above and beyond on the tour. It took us 3 hours to do it with him which absolutely flew by. Definitely recommend if it's you're first time or even if you've seen it before Alex will fascinate you with his love and understanding of the gaudi history.

Had the best morning at Alessio's tour we decided to do another tour in afternoon! Very engaging, interesting and informational tours and a great way to see the city, I highly recommend to anyone looking to visitors the city and learn a little more than what meets the eye!

Where does Francesca gets such a boost of energy?

We booked this tour to discover the modernism side of Barcelona. Needless to say, we weren't disappointed. In fact, we didn't knew much about architecture but Francesca is a humorous story teller and explained it in quite detail. Talking about Francesca, she's a wonderful guide who's full of drama in a good way. She's so entertaining and energetic that one cannot be bored when touring with her. For us, when we think about Barcelona we surely remember both Franco and Francesca who made our tour so wonderful with their vibes and personality. We love you guys <3

Gothic Quarter walking tour and Gaudi tour

My wife and I received a great introduction to Barcelona from Alessio. Alessio works for Free Walking Tours Barcelona and he was our first experience to the city. He lead us on a tour through the Gothic Quarter and provided us a good understanding of the history of the city. We had a good insight into the the "must see's" of the city by the end of the tour. The Free Walking Tour is a great way to get accustomed to the city and you pay/tip as much as you want at the end of the tour. Alessio explains that you pay as much as you deem appropriate for your experience. My wife and I had such a great experience that we chose Alessio to lead us on a tour of Antony Gaudi later in the afternoon. Similar to the Free Walking Tour it was a great experience. I would highly recommend this tour and Alessio.

I did two tours, one with Franco in the morning (Gothic Tour) and the second afternoon tour with Francesca (Discover Gaudi) Both tours were amazing! Both Franco and Francesca had amazing energy. They were super fun, entertaining, informative and really did a great job of explaining a lot of information in a short period of time. The group fill up, so if you are like me and want to just show up probably shouldnt do that, I missed another tour because it was full. So book in advance. I would definitely recommend this group to anyone who wants to learn about the city they are visiting, have fun and meet new people.

amazing tour

My sisters and I on our first time to Barcelona took a free Sandelman's tour with Francisco. He was really knowledgable and funny and looked it up when he didn't know the answers to questions. He claimed to be under the weather but we couldn't tell. I can't imagine how animated he would be healthy. It was our favourite activity in Barcelona. We've continued to use the tips he taught us to identify modernist buildings along our trip to Europe.

Did the free walking tour of the Gothic Quarter while in Barcelona for the first time with John. Super great at explaining not only the history of the Gothic Quarter but Catalonian history and culture as well. Gave many fun facts, great story teller, showed pictures for better explanations and answered all our questions. He also sent us out Info about his own recommendations in Barcelona. We liked it so much we booked the Gaudi tour with him as well. The Gaudi tour was equally as interesting, covering architectural history and tons of information. We loved it, 100% recommend. Amazing Guided Tour!

We signed up for the guided tour and didn't really know what to expect, based on the low cost of the ticket. But we were soon very impressed with our guide-extraordinaire, Vera! She was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate of the topic. She carefully guided us through our stops and provided us plenty of time to take photos and ask questions. Although our guide was originally from Eastern Europe, her English and Spanish were flawless! We had 4 adults and 2 children in our party and she was very accommodating to our group. She also helped us buy metro tickets, so that we could make our way to the Sagrada Familia to explore the exterior of that great architectural masterpiece. Would highly recommend taking a tour with this group, and especially with Vera!

Superb tour with an excellent guide, Aidan!

My partner and I did the Discover Gaudi and Modernism tour with Aidan during our first visit to Barcelona, and we left amazed and highly informed! The tour was superb and we learned a lot about Gaudi, his architecture, and his values and influences for his work. We were also surprised to learn about the modernism movement and history of Barcelona more broadly. Aidan was an excellent guide who was well-informed and a lot of fun. In addition to the tour, Aidan gave us helpful transport advice and even sent us restaurant tips for Barcelona! Absolute legend! Highly recommend this tour, which is well worth the price!

Excellent, informative tour!

My husband and I took the Gaudi tour today with Giada as our guide and we’re very impressed! Giada is incredibly knowledgeable about Gaudi and the history of the modernist architectural movement in Barcelona. We’ve been to the city several times before but we learned a lot of new things on this tour. A great way to spend a few hours, highly recommended!
