Fantastic Tour, Loved our Guide!

Jongkie was fantastic! My friends and I wanted to try some specific things in the city and she added a couple of extra stops catered to what we were interested in. Everything she ordered for us was delicious, and we totally trusted her choices! She also took us to a temple and taught us a little bit about the history and culture. I can’t recommend her enough as a guide. We had an amazing time and it was worth all the money.

Amazing food tour!

Jongkie was an amazing tour guide! She brought us to a number of spots, took many pictures and videos, and was incredibly knowledgeable about the cuisine she was serving us. I would recommend this to anyone looking to try local spots that might feel intimidating as a tourist.

Best food tour experience - Nush

We had an incredible experience on the Thailand food tour! Our guide Nush was punctual, friendly, and passionate about sharing the local culture and cuisine. She took us on a culinary journey through hidden gems - local markets, authentic restaurants, and even train stations! - to sample a diverse range of delicious Thai dishes. What impressed us most was her genuine enthusiasm and knowledge, providing insightful commentary on the history and significance of each dish. We never felt pressured to buy souvenirs or tip excessively, which made the experience feel truly authentic. The boat ride to see the stunning Big Buddha and navigate between locations was an added bonus! Our guide's kindness, cordiality, and expertise made this tour truly unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Fantastic private tour

Our private tour with May was fantastic. She really showed us some hidden food treasures interwoven with a peak into Thai life. She flexed to our needs when she heard we’d already tried a couple of dishes and accommodated our teens lower spice tolerances. Highly recommend this tour.

Lovely Thonburi

Unique tour through the village, canals and markets of Thonburi with May, our tour guide. Had food we've never tasted before despite coming to Bangkok many times. Learnt some history of the temples. Fed the catfishes. Steady boat ride. What a lovely day!

Great culinary experience

Preme was the perfect guide even forgiving me when we went to the wrong train station, warning easily done! Started with the best dish of the day, beef noodle soup mmm, ending with a spicy pork soup and everything in between. Preme was perfect company and patiently answered all our questions. If you are in Bangkok then this tour should be a must.

Highly recommend food tour!

What an amazing time we had with our guide Preme! We tried so many delicious dishes at wonderful little restaurants that we would never have found without her! Stops at local markets were a bonus, and we were so happy to learn that our long tail boat ride included an amazing view of the Golden Buddha at Wat Pak Nam Temple. Preme is friendly, knowledge and such a pleasant person to hang out with. Her English is excellent and we truly enjoyed getting to know her. Thank you Preme! Highly recommend.

Very local tour. See Thai countryside and peoples without going far from Bangkok.

What a great tour. Started early driving out of Bangkok and went to sleepy train station in the salt fields where we at grilled banana and had coffee before taking a train into the town for the train market and then the floating market. Very local feeling. Amazing food. Our guide Olive was fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed!

An excellent food tour

A wonderful tour! We were very late but they were so understanding and thankfully we were the only people on the tour so the lovely guide Bow, was waiting for us still 45mins later (always add extra time for getting around Bangkok!). The main office was very good at communicating with us too as we were afraid we’d miss the tour and not find everyone. We got to try street food from the very beginning, starting with dumplings but also beef noodle soup, Thai sweets, Thai iced tea and coffee, mango sticky rice, chicken, another delicious soup type thing... I’ve probably forgotten more things too! We were taken to authentic places, such as an old coffee shop in a local market. We also visited temples along the route too. Riding in the canal boat was a fun experience - we even glimpsed a huge water lizard sunbathing! Bow is a really kind and knowledgable woman who is very familiar with Bangkok and Thai history. She was so accommodating and helpful to us and we really enjoyed spending time with her! She even went out of her way at the end of the trip to take us to the next place we wanted to be. A personal highlight was the area around Artists’ House - so peaceful and beautiful and we had a lot of fun feeding the fish in the canal too! We also enjoyed the market we went to at the end of the trip - we went back there later on in the week to buy some nice souvenirs. I really recommend this tour - it’s a very enjoyable experience and you leaving knowing a lot more and much more familiar with the local cuisine and history.

A must do when in Bangkok

THE best way to get off the tourist track and visit local markets and experience a totally different side to Bangkok! Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and spoke excellent English. The food was fantastic, but the surprise highlight was just how much of the local markets, canals and artistic workshops we got to experience. Would definitely recommend this tour!

The company that offers is very organized and shows us an authentic and very beautiful bangkok. It was a great learning to me.

Fantastic day trip

My sister and me was traveled to Thailand we do this trip. Thonburi canal boat trip was very fantastic. It was a food tour. very delicious foods. We booked private boat. our driver also very good and he knows most things about Thailand. Highly recommend this trip.

Delicious parade of food, great guide and a fun relaxed day

My friend and I booked the public Thonburi Canal and Food tour, but it ended up being just the two of us, so we ended up with a private tour - SCORE! The day was fantastic. We got to do a nice mix of strolling different markets (none of them touristy; you really felt like you were among locals), riding in the long boat, and learning about Thai culture and history. Interspersed with it all was eating great food. Overall we tried 8 different food dishes (1 thai iced coffee, 2 noodle soups, 1 shrimp curry, 2 desserts, 2 salads and 1 sticky noodle bun meal). Each food item was unique and very delicious. Our guide, Lily, was wonderful. She was knowledgeable, patient and hilarious. We really got to know each other by the end and I felt like we made a friend. I'd strongly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see and taste a more authentic side of Bangkok.

Awesome Day Trip to a more Local Side of Bangkok

My brother, nephew and I went on the food tour to Thonburi with Bowwi and we had an amazing day! The food, flavors, sights and smells of the markets and local eateries are not ones we would have experienced without this tour. It was a great mix of walking and long tail boat touring and we not only got to experience lots of different foods (we were beyond stuffed by the end) but we also learned about local culture and history and got to sight-see a different side of Bangkok. We did not do a private tour but were in a small group with just a few others and it great to experience this tour with them.

Fun and filling way to see a different side of Bangkok

We did the Thonburi Canal and food combination tour with Bangkok Food Tours, and had an amazing experience with our guide Bowie. The tour was the perfect alternative to the typical 1-hour long-tail bout tour of the Thonburi canals -- we got the long-tail boat experience, but spent most of our time exploring truly authentic markets and street food. The vendors we went to were truly for Bangkok locals, and spoke no English -- but our guide Bowie selected great items at each place to taste. And she gave us great background information about each dish, especially those that were truly new to us. We tried over a dozen different foods, from locally famous versions of the familiar (like mango coconut sticky rice), to new treats (coconut pancake). Bowie was extremely thoughtful -- when we mentioned we liked Issan (NE Thai) food and Khao Soi, she brought us to stalls selling the best of both in Bangkok. And she spotted a couple unique opportunities, like traditional Thai coconut ice cream sold from a passing boat on the canal. Needless to stay, we were pleasantly stuffed by the end of the tour. This tour was one of the highlights of our time in Bangkok. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Wonderful Experience!!!

My husband and I had Bowie as a guide. She was so sweet and went out of her way to make sure our food tasting experience was fabulous! We ate so much food we could not eat dinner! The food choices and locations were unique and truly genuine Thai! Not commercialized in the least.

GREAT, GREAT Tonburi Tour

I know there are a ton of great reviews for the company, all of which are true. Booking and logistics were super smooth. I will focus on the canal tour. First off, let me say Lily was AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!! She went above and beyond to make my husband feel better when he woke up not feeling great—bought him an electrolyte drink, kept checking on him...even sent an email later in the afternoon to check on him. Very caring!!! She was super energetic and excited to share her knowledge of the food as well as the area of Thonburi. Her English was fantastic. She knows lots of vocabulary so can really explain what all the random things are in the market!!! The company does a great job of describing exactly what you do in the descriptions section on TripAdvisor, so what you read is what you get. I appreciated Lily substituted a few dishes when we had already tried them in other places in Thailand. It allowed us to try more tastes. I especially liked the Lod Chong dessert. Yum:) The boat part was a lot of fun too. It was cool to see a different part of Bangkok!! Overall, we can’t say enough things about Lily, the company, and the tour.
