Very nice and classy experience of the Cruise on River Star Princess. Right from reception, boarding welcome drink, the live band, the spread and layout of dinner buffet, and to top it all the professional Staff was an exhilarating experience....

Great boat ride on the river with pretty views but, bad food.

The boat was beautiful and clean. Staff was polite and helpful. The scenery along the way was lovely. The entertainment was enthusiastic and fun! Unfortunately, the food was less than average. Cold and bland. Probably to be expected from a buffet?

From start to finish a great cruise. Food was so delicious and so much. And loved the band and the dancers.

I thought the boat was a bit tired, the food was mediocre and the entertainment was poor. We ended up with fishing we had gone to Asiatique instead

Disapppinting

To say that the tour is worth of 1 star is on par with a miracle. If I could give it a zero star I would. However the fact that we didn’t sink makes the tour a one star. To start, the food is served as a buffet style system which wouldn’t be a problem if there wasn’t a long queue blocking both the views and the entertainment. The actual food is sub par with better quality of food being served in our hotel restaurant than the boat. The service wasn’t too bad and was probably the only factor that kept the tour going. As for the entertainment, a cluster of impromptu noises is the only way that I can describe the experience. I fully understand that the entertainment wasn’t going to be arena quality music/band. However singing to both the guitar and drum backing track whilst having drummers and guitarists on the boat just didn’t really make sense. The boat was like the titanic apart from the sinking bit. With the boat taking 4 or 5 times to dock wasn’t the greatest first impression. I think I’ve had more of a relaxing experiences on a speedboat rather than this tour. To conclude this review I will attempt to salvage any good things about the tour: - The views (when we were able to see them) was amazing at night. However to bring the mood down once again, the singer preferred to sing YMCA rather than point out the golden bridge. - The drinks were nice and cold.

Nice views, food not good

The views were amazing. The entertainment was really nice. The food however was terrible. I only like the rice and beef stew and it seems everyone else too, it was almost done when i went to get a bit more. The sushi was the worst. The rice was so stale and hard and not fresh at all. It was inedible imo. If at least the sushi and sashimi were good, i would've given 4 stars, but the sashimi wasn’t that great either. We got nice pictures tho and enjoyed the ride. If you plan to eat before or after, it can be an enjoyable boat ride. The desserts were good. They had mango sticky rice and some other yummy desserts.

The music band was good, the sights are lovely and the food was plenty. It was great value, me and my girlfriend enjoyed it a lot.

This dinner cruise was our farewell dinner in Thailand. It was spectacular with beautiful sights, sounds, and service. Photo ops at Wat Arun, the suspension bridge, the pier, Iconsiam and with the apsara dancers. Great value, buffet, and overall experience. Can be enjoyed as a couple or more. Highly recommended, as probably most of the dinner cruises are. P.S. They also let us get off at Iconsiam, a pier early, as it was our last night and we were hurried to go to the airport immediately after, instead of returning to River City Bangkok and taking a ferry directly back across the river.

Great dinner cruise on the river. Beautiful views of all of the landmarks and an amazing buffet dinner! Great value and experience.

Surprise seating arrangements!

This cruise was hardly worth the money. We were never told that seating was assigned so we came early in hopes of nice seating on upper deck. No matter the timing, we were first on and told we must sit at what was about the worst location on the lower deck away from the windows and with no view whatsoever. We had booked and payed for this weeks before, again, with never a mention that you could not pick your seating. Food was average at best, entertainment mediocre. Most disappointing.

Brilliant service from start til finish. Food choice was good but maybe another meat choice as was mostly seafood dishes. Lovely boat and tour took in a lot of great sights

Quality River Dinner Cruise

We had a little difficulty finding the meeting point. We had to wade through a lot of people guessing where the pier would be. Finally saw a few signs in mall. We may have missed some but I don’t think so. Better directions in booking please. Buffet had a nice variety and plenty of food. Servers were great as well as the entertainment. Would recommend

We had a wonderful time...

We had a wonderful time on the dinner cruise. It was a nice buffet dinner with plenty of choices and the Thai dancers were excellent.

Average Tour

The Food was good, but not exceptional and it was as stated international, but would have liked more Thai Food anyways... The Music was more like Karaoke than an actual performance, but I guess it was quite fun. The views on the tour were good, but if you have taken a few river cruises in different cities, it won't blow your mind. All in all 3 Stars probably fits perfectly, average tour in every aspect, nothing amazing not terrible.

The food was great and music diverse which was good. I was somewhat disappointed with the change in program from Masked dance to the ______ dance which I had already seen this style and dance in a dinner theatre in Cambodia. otherwise it was gooe

Would not recommend this excursion.

The ordeal was a mess. The entertainment might have been good had we been able to see it. More organization on the buffet is needed. Wait staff was very nice and helpful. No need to show up 30-45 mins in advance just to get a sticker

Very enjoyable, relaxed evening out.

Atmosphere was friendly and relaxed - this trip seemed mostly about the enjoyment of eating, drinking and being entertained on board the boat - we did pass a few interesting sights, temples, bridges, etc but in the dark there is a limit to what you can see). Initially there was a bit of a queue to get to the buffet (I guess most guests didn't really know how this would be organised) but there was plenty of food, and through the evening the waiting staff served drinks (for extra charge - as expected) with no hurry or confusion. Water glasses were kept topped up throughout. Entertainment was a few traditional Thai dancers, along with a (pretty competent) house band who played mainly easy listening covers.

Terrible experience at the cruise

Hello, I hope this email finds you well. I recently had the opportunity to experience your dinner cruise on December 21st, and I feel compelled to express my dissatisfaction with the overall customer experience. To my surprise, upon boarding the cruise, I discovered that the upper deck of the boat had been privatized for an event, leaving me and other guests confined to the lower deck. Considering the ticket price of €30 per person, I found this information crucial, and had I been aware of it beforehand, I might have reconsidered my reservation, as the whole point of doing a night cruise is to be able to enjoy the view, not being locked inside a boat to a central table from where we couldn’t see though any window! Upon settling on the lower deck, I encountered an issue with excessive air conditioning throughout the evening, making the environment uncomfortably freezing. Additionally, I observed that all the dishes on the buffet were served cold, which seemed to be a consequence of the aggressive air conditioning. I understand that unexpected situations may arise, but I believe transparency regarding the deck privatization would have allowed me to make an informed decision. The discomfort caused by the temperature and the cold buffet significantly impacted my overall enjoyment of the dinner cruise. Also it was told on the description that during the cruise we could get to see a traditional dance, which last literally 2 minutes right before we enter the boat, with absolutely nothing happening. Enjoyable cruise. But loud and unpleasant group hogged the atmosphere.

Wonderful ambiance. Good food: lot of variety. Nice music and entertainment. Good hosts. However, there was a birthday party of 10+ people, who were very loud and monopolized the atmosphere, crowding the stage area and preventing others from enjoying a good view of the musicians and their performance. I do understand that they are celebrating, but they too should be mindful of other customers who are there for a good time, and not hog the space for almost the entire cruise duration. (This is not a negative comment on the cruise provider.)

Forget it

Boat easy to find, the only nice part. Buffet awfull, finished with chicken wings. Asian poeple seemed to like it. No festive atmosphere there and on other ships. Signer not good. Keep your money for a good restaurant.

Table allocated spoiled the experience

Live band was good, played a variety of music. Food was good although wine was expensive £36 a bottle - however it was our choice so can’t really complain. Unfortunately the whole experience was spoilt by our table allocation. It was right at the back of the boat behind the stage so we couldn’t see the band or the dancers. Also the lighting was poor compared to the rest of the boat.

Great Experience

The only thing that was a little disappointing was the food was cold. . The entertainment was a big plus.

Wonderful Thai dancing

I booked this for 7 of us we got a taxi threatened it was easy to check in and the whole experience was delightful. Food was lovely so was the entertainment in true Thai style dancers and a brilliant singer. Thanks you. I would recommend this value for money and I would definitely do it again.

Pleasant dinner cruise

The buffet was very good, staff were efficient and good entertainment. All of the temples and Bridges look fantastic lit up

Ok, not great

The best part of the cruise was seeing all the lights along the river, it’s such a different experience than traveling on the river in the daytime. The food was about as expected, not great but decent. Don’t take this excursion for a dining experience, rather the whole experience.

Great entertainment, ambience and views however if you’re allergic or intolerant to fish then you won’t eat much on this trip! Without the food option I’d give this trip 5:5 but the food options were fish, fish or fish. Not all of it hot either. Everything else was great.

Fantastic dinner and evening

The evening was enjoyable. Dinner had good options and the cruise view was very pleasant. They also had a live singer and band which included very good music.

A break from the day heat

It was a very comfortable sightseeing at night tour. Our seats were not great for seeing the dancers, but dancers were not that important, the lit sites along the river were beautiful. The food was adequate but also was not the main goal. If you stay overnight this tour is a must.

Had a lovely evening

I really loved the experience. My family and I had a nice time on board the cruise. We received a warm welcome and the entertainment show was lovely. I appreciated the effort of the staff to cater for vegan food for us. A little improvement in terms of variety of vegan food would be most welcome because we got only french fries as starters and main menu was pad thai and fried rice. But it tasted good and overall we had a lovely night. The best part was the live performances and amazing views. I truly recommend this cruise trip.

Buffet Food line...

Buffet Food line combination is much better than the other one which I tried early this year. The music brand is great especially lady singer who is very friendly with customers and lots of ladies joins her and dancing.

Great party

I was expecting this to be a totally overseas tourists dinner cruise, so I was pleasantly surprised that out of town Thais were there too. This made for a more enjoyable cruise with the locals singing and dancing with the band 🥳

Bit of family friendly chaos. Not for couples. They choose your seat for you!!

I hope this helps someone. Lots of families on board. Not a very romantic couple cruise at all. No cool lights inside the boat like other cruises. Buffett was really lovely. Had lots of choice with salad and meats. The staff were lovely. You have to pay extra for drinks other than water and this really sweet starter drink they give you. We didn’t get to select our seats as they were pre-assigned which was sad because some people got to sit above deck and others were inside. Maybe I should have written my preference in the booking notes?? We got there early too to get a good seat and ended up sitting inside with the singer. Would have preferred the band above deck. They had different entertainment for each deck. The singer was a lil terrible I won’t lie. Love her energy but the singing wasn’t great. Average song choices very pop but can we please stop playing Dance Monkey repeatedly haha. There were heaps of other cruises out and felt like we were missing out. Really easy to find where to wait for the cruise. The cruise even waited and turned around so we could watch the fireworks. Cruise was a tad late too. Overall would not go again unfortunately. Would much prefer a more romantic cruise as a couple. So crowded in the deck to take photos and standing around other peoples tables who are trying to eat. Not cool. (I am not paid to write reviews, this is just my opinion)

Enjoyable but could be a lot better.

The cruise on the river was an enjoyable experience with all the city lights. However, our cruise had a wedding party taking up all the upper deck and restricting our access to the outside deck to a very small forward area, which was taken up by tables for eating. In addition, I thought the buffet was mediocre at best and the food was lukewarm. The evening was very enjoyable, however, thanks to the lovely crew and the very talented lady singer, who was amazing.
