Maeklong Train Market & Damnoensaduak Floating Market Tour

A great trip - fully recommend.

A great tour visiting the railway and floating markets as well as a coconut farm. The guide was good getting us to the sights efficiently although perhaps a bit quiet compared to other trips we’ve been on. Perhaps more background around the history of the markets etc. would have been good. We arrived about 8.45 am at the railway market. Just enough time to get photos in front of train and then to move into the heart of market to see the train pass which was fab. The floating market was great too. You have quite a long ride around canal network which was interesting before passing through the market area. The coconut farm was interesting and offered the opportunity to purchase gifts if you wanted to.

Fabulous experience!

We had a great time in this tour with our guide Maio and driver Mr Jaroon. Maio was very knowledgeable and friendly and answered all of our questions. The train market is a really unique experience and our time at the floating markets was really great too. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Unscheduled and unnecessary stop for an hour at Elephant /Tourist park

Pick up was on time , although I had issues getting a hold of anyone when I tried ringing to confirm our trip .No one would answer the phone. First stop was the train markets , we really enjoyed this experience , however the time was limited, we would have liked another half hour.This could have been done if we didn’t stop at the elephant place. Floating markets were interesting, traffic jam with all the boats but that was all part of the experience . Then did this hour stop at elephant park, big tourist trap, massages ,elephant rides ,photos with very drugged tiger or what we did sit and have a cold drink.We ran into my sister and partner who were in a different tour and they were also annoyed with this unscheduled stopover which added to their 13 hour day unnecessarily.

Railway and floating markets

The trip was good to see the train and floating market but it was a little rushed. The guide didn’t explain much about the history behind the different markets or how many people had visited it per day. We weren’t given the opportunity to ask questions. The mini bus driver could have told us about the journey and the areas that we passed through. He or the guide could have told us how long the return to the hotel might be but we had no information. The long tail boat ride was nice through the town but again a bit of history would have made the experience more informative. We can recommend the food at the floating market, it was fresh hot and very tasty. Lots of different stalls at both but you have to barter as the first price is sometimes a little high. Enjoyable experience. 😊

Very unprofessional tour

This tour was a disaster from the beginning till the end. Here’s why: - we were picked up at 6am the tour picked 2 other couple and it took until 8am to start heading towards our destination. We waited for one couple 30mins. Why? - we arrived at the train market were riches though the market made to stand in a stall to get an advantage of the train, for which we were kicked out by the owner and made to find another stall where we couldn’t see anything. I asked the tour operator can I stand elsewhere she told me I can, I did, and was subsequently kicked out and yelled at there too. Operator should have this well organized prior - when I asked we can take photos she said no, which we refused anyway and me and the rest of group banded together and went to take photos. To her dismay. We were at this market for less than 15 minutes after driving for 2 1/2 hrs - we arrived at floating market we were crammed into the smallest boat possible for a very uncomfortable journey down the richer, every other bot looked more comfortable - the tour also took us to a coconut farm and a Thai house which we spent more time then the main attractions and these weren’t listed at all! Wasting precious time - once out of the boat at the market tour operator made us walk first to the netting point at break neck speed then told us we had 30mins, after we spent 15 chasing her to the meeting point, some were well behind her she did not turn her head once to check - then the grand finale, a couple asked to be dropped off at a different location which was fine, however we had to drop them of first even though we were closer to our hotel, spending 3 hours on the return trip DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR WITH THIS COMPANY FIND AN ALTERNATIVE

Awesome Visit but probably once is enough

We (3 friends) are in Bangkok for a short break & decided to check out these Bangkok tourist attractions. We signed up half a day tour with Get Your Guide (local partner Big Country Vacation). We took a mini van & old school no aircondition train (30 mins) to Maeklong Train Market.As expected the place is FULL of tourists. Although it was super hot & crowded, it was worth the time & effort seeing 1st hand the train pass through the narrow track. Both sides of the track are lined with stalls & the owner can efficiently remove tents, movable tables to make way for the train to pass by. As for the floating market, it is amazing seeing the local selling from their boat. The canal does get congested at certain sections but the boatman or boatwoman can navigate skillfully and no one fell into the canal :). This was an awesome experience visiting these 2 places which i encougare foreign visitors to check it out. However for me personally 1 visit is enough given the hot weather and crowd.. Outstanding trip

This travel team really understood what we wanted on our trip and our limitations as my 88 year old mother was travelling with us and this trip was for her. The planning took some time and tweaking but once we arrived we were met by a representative, given our written itinerary and from there on in we were met and transported effortlessly on every leg of the trip. We marveled that we would have a fantastic day and then the next would be even better. I was especially pleased at the respect and kindness extended to my elderly mother who required some assistance. Her needs were met every step of the way.

Amazing pattya tour

It's been a very full city tour experience in pattaya with friends. We was planning to cover full pattaya attraction on day plan. We found the tour and had enjoy very much. Guide was full of knowledge and Joyful. Love to this trip again in future. Thank you everyone.

Die Zugfahrt war klasse Der Markt ebenfalls.Es ist eine Reise wert Es war wenig los da es noch Corona Zeit ist.

Imperdible!

Es un paseo imperdible. El mercado ferroviario está bien aunque es un poco complicado apreciar lo que sucede por la cantidad de gente. El mercado es super recomendable. Una experiencia única.

c'était une tres bonne découverte , mais on peut dire que les guides ont assurés que la logistique ils nous ont rien montrés , aucun échange , aucune communication.

Ormai un'attrazione turistica ma...

Le gite organizzate hanno certo snaturato in parte quella che doveva essere una situazione di vita reale sicuramente singolare . Pensate ad un coloratissimo e affollatissimo mercato che ogni giorno apre le proprie bancarelle sulla massicciata di una linea ferroviaria, anzi proprio sulle rotaie, tanto che ogni volta che passa il treno tutti i banchi spostano millimetricamente tende, espositori e tutta la mercanzia, aprendo uno strettissimo passaggio per consentire al locomotore di raggiungere la stazione di fine corsa posta proprio alla fine del mercato ...scena che si ripete più volte al giorno sempre uguale, con solo una guardia che munita di una semplice bandierina regola il traffico di abitanti locali, turisti, mezzi e...treno. A volte le carrozze del convoglio alte da terra passano addirittura sopra a cassette di verdure , pesci ...frutta e qualsiasi altra cosa in vendita, con l'unico limite rappresentato dalle ruote sui binari. E che dire delle centinaia di persone a cui il treno passa letteralmente sui piedi. Impensabile in Italia per ovvie ragioni di sicurezza ma ancora possibile in Tailandia dove le priorità sono altre . Da vedere comunque perché non credo che vi sia una cosa simile in altre parti del mondo.
