Great Cooking Exprerience

We did this as a last minute thing to do on a spare day in Bangkok and it was awesome. We had Gift would was wonderful. Our afternoon tour did not have a market visit but we were fine with that as we cooked 4 dishes; tom yum, pad Thai, green curry and mango sticky rice. Gift was a wonderful humorous teacher and everyone in the class appreciated her. I would highly recommend this class/school for a half day in Bangkok.

My friends and I had a great experience with our cooking class learning to make many delicious dishes. Bonus points for the great air conditioning inside the classroom which was a life saver during the hot day. Lastly, shout out to our instructor April, she was the best!

Delicious and good traditional experience

We sourced fresh ingredients and made 4 different dishes. Each one was simple but delicious. I feel like I learned a lot and had a great authentic experience! We had a class with Gift and she was wonderful.

Great cooking tour!

The cooking class was excellent, it started with a market tour and explaining what goes into Thai cooking. Gift who is the tour guide and the cook was very good in explaining everything in detail. We prepared 4 dishes in total, most popular Thai dishes. Cooking school was very well set up, clean and spacious to fit the whole class. Another highlight is taking tuk tuk from the market to the cooking school. Overall, it was an amazing experience!

Great food & fun

Three of us attended the class and made several dishes, all of which were very tasty. The salad was especially 🔥 which was great! Our instructor and her staff were excellent, and kept us engaged the whole time, teaching techniques and culture throughout.

A true gift from Gift

Could not recommend this class highly enough. Chef Gift (her English name) and her staff were amazing. Gift was very thorough from explaining the different types of spices and ingredients we were going to use to how best to chop the various ingredients. We got to cook 4 dishes- soup, 2 mains and dessert.

Must try

I went with my elderly parent and sister. My parents love it very much. Teacher ‘Geve’ was excellent. She has such a beautiful and friendly demeanor.

The best mango sticky rice I have ever had, also I recommend taking a bit of spice out of everything. Most food was very spicy (for me, I’m 12)

A fun cooking experience

I was nervous to go to this cooking class by myself, but it ended up being one of my favorite experiences while in Bangkok. Gift was so pleasant! She guided us with easy to follow instructions and had a very good attitude throughout the class. This was so fun, I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Bangkok!

Delicious and fun learning experience

This is a must-do in Bangkok (Sukhumvit location)! I had an amazing experience learning about local ingredients and Thai cuisine, as well as how it compares to other cuisines. I loved Katalina’s energy, her sense of humour, and how she tailored our ingredients to our individual levels of spice tolerance. She and her team were fantastic!! Instructions were impeccable and Katalina was able to help someone who can’t cook at all (me) make 4 delicious dishes 😍 Thanks for the wonderful experience!!

Recommended to foodies

The long awaited review.. I recommend this trip to anyone who deems themself a foodie! Besides from learning how to cook, you’ll be able to learn the background stories of Thai cooking. Our guide Katelynna was obviously very knowledgable and quite professional. She was more than willing to answer all our questions while making sure we didn’t burn our food. Great experience!

Best cooking class

My husband and I had the best time! We did the morning class which started with a quick stop at a local street market to learn about the ingredients we would be using that day. All of the dishes we prepared were absolutely delicious. Our host was lively and very entertaining. Very well organized , they made the experience something we will never forget and we walked away feeling confident to cook all these dishes when we get back home. Thank you so much for a memorable experience. Highly recommend.

Brilliant school but hard to find

Absolutely brilliant time, learned so much and the host was patient, interesting and fun. The kitchen and work surfaces were spotless, the price of the class was very good and you got to eat the food you prepared. I would definitely recommend!! Only negative point is that the venue is hard to find as it’s tucked down a back street. I would recommend getting a taxi to take you to the door. Don’t listen to excuses of not being able to drive down it as it is perfectly accessible.

Thai hot is hot!

My wife and I joined this cooking class and we’re very pleased with the class aspect. The “market tour” was only going to one vendor and seeing some of the vegetables we would be cooking with later on. Beware of saying you are comfortable with Thai medium hot, because that is really hot. I am used to spicy foods from Mexican cooking, but this was beyond that. Otherwise, our food turned out great and was very tasty.

Would recommend for travelers. Instructor is well educated. Very knowledgeable on dish subject matter and history. Makes class fun and enjoyable. Goes above and beyond to get to know each individual in attendance.

Fun, educational experience.

Fun and educational experience. We cooked 3 traditional meals and a dessert. Toured the market for some educational shopping and learned about spices, fruits and oils. If you like cooking this a great experience to have.

An amazing culinary experience

I had an amazing time today at the cookery school. Came home having learnt 4 different Thai dishes using great ingredients and simply and easy to cook. I am so happy I booked myself on to this. Was lovely to meet other people too and share the experience . The host Katelynna was really good. She was extremely friendly and explained very well. I learnt so much today and replay enjoyed the whole thing from start to finish . I am doing the morning tour as well as I want to do the market experience too and will be learning other dishes too. Katelynna Made the afternoon very enjoyable and was very engaged at all times. She is passionate about what she does. Thank you 🙏🏽.

Great intro class

Fun, educational and perfect for both me and my 15 year old son. We have some new techiques, understand the ingredients and could do this at home now

May was so lovely and professional. She was witty, informative and patient with everyone. She created a lovely atmosphere to learn and cook. The whole team was also lovely and refreshing. The location was also easy to find, I used a bike to get there. I would definitely recommend this, so worth the time and money.

Learning the Fundamentals

I really appreciated learning the fundamentals and techniques necessary for Thai cuisine. The helpful and friendly staff at House of Thai unlocked the secrets of a cuisine I’ve long loved and never mastered. That’s all changed now.

Ticha is my teacher she was friendly and kind u can ask as much as u can.. the place is clean and comfy decorated and air condition, u will taste a Real Thai food “tasty and yummy”

Twas my first time to attend Thai cooking class in BKK. It didn't disappoint me at all!!! MUST TRY! Suitable for foreigners and beginners.

Good for beginners

Pretty good class to get an overall understanding of Thai cuisine’s basics and styles. Extremely good for beginners who want to have an experience in Bangkok about the food they eat everyday. For more advanced cooking lovers it might not fit as I felt that everything was pretty much done for you and therefore hard to reproduce at home. You won’t learn the balance between the different flavors and tastes. Bottom line: you want to have a little nice experience in Bangkok in a kitchen, go for it. If you are more serious about it maybe choose another one

Yummy Thai Cooking Class with market visit

We had a spare evening in Bangkok and my sister and I decided on a cooking class to mean a few local dishes. I can highly recommend this professional tour group for a fun few hours of entertainment and a delicious meal included. We met near the food market and shopped for a range of ingredients with our guide Fah giving us detailed information on all the local products we needed for our cooking. A tuk tuk ride was included taking us back to the clean, well equipped kitchen, food prep area and dining area. Everything was included along with lots of recipes and we prepared and cooked four delicious courses including an amazing Tom Kah Gai spicy coconut soup with chicken, a Pad Thai, Massaman curry and a Mango and Sticky rice dessert. Everything was so delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Fah was a perfect hostess and very good with her instruction and her direction. Don’t hesitate to book this if you want to try your hand at Thai cooking. Great for individuals, couples and also groups of friends.

Beginners in thai cooking👍

The cook was very friendly and patient, willing to answer all questions. Introduce many local herbs and ingredients in Thai cooking. Location however is not convenient, have to walk 10-15 mins from the bts station.

I really enjoyed!

Cooking class started from MRT stop and walked 5 mins to the fresh market nearby. We tried some Thai cake on the way and also bought Thai bamboo drink for our class as well. The teacher showed and explained which fresh ingredients are needed for the class and let us try to smell and touch. Tuktuk tour going back to the school was unexpectedly included ;) The classroom was beautiful and Thai traditional ceramics and table deco were well-selected and prepared. We learned 4 dishes (phad thai, Somtum, Thai Red curry, Mango sticky rice) and while we are cooking and eating, staffs prepared next dishes. So all process were done quickly and smoothly. It was very organized cooking course. I strongly recommend! Thank you for the great experience!

This class was amazing the instructor was so knowledgeable and she took her time. Don’t eat before the class you will definitely be stuffed food was just as amazing as the class. I left happy and stomach was full. Spicy soup was one of my favorite dishes

Amazing Thai cooking exprience

I honestly don't enjoy cooking whatsoever but the environment was so fun and lively that I had the best time! It was nice going to the market beforehand and getting the ingredients ourselves plus everyone else taking the class was great company. Would definitely recommend to anyone! :)

Such a great experience. The hostess' were so on point, the dishes delicious and probably some of my favorite foods I ate my entire trip to Thailand! Would highly recommend!

Great cooking class, impossible to fail!

Had a very good experience with Alex and house of taste. It was a good mix of dishes, and we also appreciated that the most cumbersome raw materials (in terms of time making them) were prepared beforehand. With kind and professional supervision it was impossible to fail and we had a delicious 4-course lunch. Especially appreciated that we went to the market and bought some of the ingredients, and got some valuable information about Thai food in general. Highly recommend! My only little improvement suggestion would be to occasionally vary the music when cooking. Beethoven is very dear to me but the “moonlight sonata” on repeat is a little bit too much even for me, even if I love the melody :-)

Great experience!

I took the cooking class with my two sisters and we had a great experience. It was cool to go to the market before cooking to see/learn about local products. The chef was very nice and gave us clear explanation. The pace was good. The dishes we made were very good and they emailed us the recipes so we could make them again. I strongly recommend taking a class with House of Taste!

Thai cooking

Thank you very much House of taste team for this wonderful experience of cooking some of the most exotic delicacies of Thailand. I always loved everything about Thailand and getting to learn something so authentic connects me to Thailand even more. Would love to learn some more in future.
