This was the most amazing tour. We loved the unique experience of the railway and floating market. Jum was the most amazing tour guide and was so lovely and knowledgeable

Jam packed!

There were too many people on the train, market was so busy and it was uncomfortable. Floating markets were ok and enjoyed the experience. However the tour guide dropped me off right in the middle of Bangkok instead of back at my hotel where I was picked up from. Tick that box, don't have to do it again.

Very Good Railway and Floating Market Tour

The tour description doesn’t really do this tour justice. After an extended ride in the van, you wait for a train next to beautiful salt flats. The train ride is fun, and you get to see the countryside. The floating market is a bit of a tourist trap, but it’s a great experience. Enjoy the boat ride and don’t buy the overpriced souvenirs. One other piece of information: this is not an half day tour. Our tour was solidly 8 hours. Overall a very good experience.

Unforgettable experience

An unforgettable experience. From the pick-up, the driver, our knowlegeable guide Sara who was excellent. The train ride to Maeklong station and the experience of the Railway Market as well as the boat ride on the river at the floating market was very special and amazing to see.

Enjoyable tour

Was a great tour, fun and our tour guide gave us lots of great food recommendations. The only think I wish is that we got more time at the railway market, ended up only being about 15 minutes there total. Wish we had a bit more time at that stop to explore.

Tour to remember

I had a unique experience joining this tour. The sights are amazing and exciting especially the railway market tour. I love this market tour and highly recommended. Our tour guide is good and knowledgeable and super accommodating. We were picked up at our hotel and alighted at MBK at the end of our tour. I am very happy with this tour.

Fast and furious but worth it!

This tour is worth doing. The markets are super picturesque and intense. We don’t have those in our countries. The tour is on an agenda, so you have to get going, but still.

Great day trip

We really enjoyed this trip, our guide and im sorry i can’t remember her name but she was great and had a lot of knowledge. She made the ride up there very interesting. It was amazing to see the markets in action. I do wish we had just a little more time at the locations but I know were were on a time restrictions.

Worth the train trip and floating market experience.

The pick-up arrangements were good and on time, but it would have been better if a return arrangement could have been provided, not left to our own devices at a shopping mall. The guide had a polite manner about her but was hard to understand. Otherwise the content of the tour for the train and floating markets were great.

It was amazing would highly recommend and the tour guide was very informative and punctual. My highlight was catching the train into the markets.

Excellent experience

Everything was really good! The staff was so kind and the guide was always telling us interesting things about the city, food and culture.

Horrible

Absolutely horrible service. I booked a tour today at 12pm for next day morning at 8am . I accidentally put the qty of the guests as 10 instead of 7 which was a mistake. Within 15 mins of the booking I realized the mistake and contacted their support team to inform about this. Their reply was that refunds are valid only for changes 24 hours before the departure when my booking was also within 24 hours before departure. You guys need to review your policies thoroughly. Will never recommend this site to anyone or never book through this again.

Nice way to see the train market riding in on the train

Good well run tour but there is a bit of waiting for the train and is is really hot in Thailand right now.

Great guide and amazing trip. The railway was unlike anything we have ever seen and the floating market was so much fun.

I absolutely loved this tour, I found the best shopping was at the railway markets, so be sure to take a good look there. The tour host was the best, she is a great host and I couldn’t be happier with this day tour. So much to see and experience , I recommend this day trip for others

Just perfect and very well organized. The group was great and our guide (Pat)!was very knowledgeable about the Thai culture.

Interesting experience

Was really interesting to see both markets and a great experience to travel on train into the railway market too. Was well looked after. It would have been good to have more detail about the tour as it ended up nearly a full day (we had deliberately chosen a half day as had other things we wanted to do but did not get back to Bangkok till around 4 pm).

Wonderful tour

Fun day trip out. The guide was amazing and very informative. Great driver too. Train market was awesome, well worth visiting and the floating market was also alot of fun. A bargain for such an enjoyable tour.

The experience was amazing!! Strongly recommended. You have the experience to go to the train market on the train and then live the experience from the outside. The floating market is completely amazing! Loved this tour.

It was great not only to see the train, but ride on it . You have to give the paddler advance notice that you’d like to buy something at the floating markets otherwise it’s a W uick drive by .

Horrible experience

Tour operator: Highly dodgy operator, they charged me 500 baht extra on top of the price I paid already via trip advisor. They also don’t properly pick you up, they show up in a standard van to your hotel and you wouldn’t know if it’s them or someone else, almost missed mine Train market: highly underwhelming honestly not worth the trip, it’s just an old train and train station with a small mkt around it, probably something new for a European Floating market: decent experience

Great Experience and Spoiled by Sara

The arrangements went very smoothly for pick up and drop off. The train ride and floating city was a great experience. The driver was safe and professional. These were great, but our tour guide Sara was the highlight. She was very informative and cheerful. Always a positive attitude and a big smile. English was good, not perfect but more than enough to communicate. Helped us wait for the train to arrive at the platform to board while we waited the shade. Not sure if that’s her job, but let’s not take things for granted. Waiting under the sun for 10+ minutes in 38 degrees weather is not an easy task. Bought the tour pineapple to try and it was delicious. Provided us with cooling wipes as a bonus. Shared her tips and guidance to us. Very knowledgeable showing us and telling us the history of Thailand. It was also her birthday and I hope she had a good one! Thank you for your hard work! All tours do the same thing, get you to point A to B to C but Sara was definitely the difference maker for this tour.

Fab day out

Fab trip. We done floating markets and railway markets..tour guy was lovely and answered all our questions and explained everything .(was only his second week). We went on the train which we never expected so that was a huge bonus. Would definitely recommend.

Fun day trip

Very enjoyable. While the markets are tourist focused you can get the vibe of their authenticity. It was good to get the train to the market then walk back through it.

Fantastic and highly informative half-day tour

Our tour guide and driver, Sara and Mr. Tchin, did a fantastic job giving us a very well informed, instructive and highly accomodating tour. Starting from the time she introduced herself from our hotel, throughout the journey to the Maeklong Station, and finally at the floating market. In-between each stop, Sara was kind and happy to answer any questions we had. If we needed any additional help, she always tried her best to provide assistance. This was a fantastic tour from beginning to end! Thank you Sara and Mr. Tchin

An excellent adventure

This was an excellent little adventure. A friendly tour guide, the train ride was a lovely touch to go through the railway markets, then the floating markets were wonderful. Some reviewers said the shop keepers were pushy and 'forced' you to buy things, but we didn't find that at all.

Guide MK she was really pleasant and explained everything we needed and even more. Unfortunately there is barely enough time to see both markets.

Everything was excellently organized. Very on time, good bus. Tim our guide, super responsible, and trained, made sure everything went perfect!! He had the minutes under control to be able to see the train leaving, when to buy juices, he organized to order the food to make the most of the time and the places to stop to see better!!

Unexpected Encounter

Departing train delayed. Destination Train station too crowded n messy, no time to work around given 30mins, we lost the tour guide while alighting ends up spending time finding way back the train station and starts departing to next destination. river market is just a shopping in the river

Not a Good Tour Company

Prior to trip received email to watch out for Big Country Experience labeled van and sign with guide. Saw none. Waited in Lobby with glass window looking out. Received no text or messages from guide compared to other trips in Thailand they messaged me they have arrived and who to look for. I messaged on Viator and number provided we are waiting. More than half hour after message the tour responded back saying they couldn't find us. Asked the doorman of the hotel and notified have not seen them. Tour group stated we can join them later if we wanted to get a private 2 hour taxi ride we would have to pay out of pocket to reach them. Denied refund and poor service. Buyer beware. Tour group blames everything on you for missing trip.

Long and hot

I did not realize that it was an hour and a 1/2 drive to get There, it Was A Very Long Day. It Was Interesting But Not something I would redo.

Perfect trip when staying in Bangkok

This trip is a fabulous trip whilst staying in Bangkok. It gets you out of the city to see different things. The train ride and floating markets are an amazing experience. Everything was perfect. Our guide Poon was amazing. So kind and made sure we had the best experience.

A must when visiting Bangkok

We really enjoyed ourselves. It was a lot of travel to get there and back but so worth it. I didn’t think they specified very clearly that to get there you get a mini bus and the local train there which was very hot and sticky. The train journey is an hour long so I found it quite uncomfortable as I didn’t have a breeze from the open windows. We only had about 30 minutes at the railway market so it was enough time to get a drink and walk the length of it but that was it. You get plenty of time at the floating market including a boat trip and then 45 minutes after to walk around and grab lunch from the various food stands. The day was 9am -3:30pm so don’t plan anything to do in the afternoon as you’ll end up missing it. We would definitely recommend and our tour guides Tom and Chai were great.

The tour was great Tim as guide excellent Unfortunately both places are always crowded and I don’t know how the to correct this May be schedule one your earlier as an option

A unique experience

An enjoyable day out and both itineraries are something unique, making this quite an experience to remember, and worthy of recommending to friends. Guide Kobe also did a good job taking care of the group.

Bangkok Railroad Mkt Super Experience

Super. The tour guy was excellent. It was a great experience. I would recommend it to all my friends. This railroad mkt is something you don't see anywhere.

Great experience!

Early start but well worth it to see the ‘train market’ - completely bonkers and fascinating. The floating market was also very interesting and our guide, Monee, could not have been more helpful or informative.

A great day trip!

We loved riding the train to the market and then seeing it take off from the station and how all the vendors have to prepare. Very entertaining! Also we really enjoyed the floating market.

7.5 hour trip (10 min of market shopping)

It does not mention that it is a 2h 15m drive from some locations. The drive plus a train ride (which was great) together, took 4 hours. It was 4 hours before we reached the train market. Then we were told we’re not actually going to shop there, just walk through VERY quickly. I had to hold my 4 year old because he couldn’t keep up with the pace. Then we took the same original van to the floating market. The floating market was amazing. After, we were walked to a restaurant area and told we should eat there and that we are meeting up to go home in 30-45 min. So we ate and had about 10 min to shop. We got dropped off at 4 pm. So the “half day” was actually 7.5 hours for us and 10 minutes were actual shopping. We were trying to stay positive but others in our group were expressing similar concerns. Would not go again nor recommend. The markets are great though. Just don’t take this tour to get there.

Fun day!

Very interesting to see these markets and we stopped by the salt fields which I liked too. The market is crazy and some areas are a little fishy but it is part of the experience! Guide was good and spoke clearly. It was a long day but we had a very comfortable van and stopped plenty of times to see stuff or get a drink. Would recommend this, especially for the cost!

Nice experience

A nice unique tour that I would recommend. Its about 2 hours drive from Bangkok so by time you return its about 3-3:30 pm depending on traffic. The train market was cool and one of those unique things you see as well as the boat tour was nice. I do recommend it ..

Great tour

Great your! Our guide (I think his name was Tom) was amazing. The time to shop on the train tracks is very short and the stuff have great prices. I 100% recommend the tour!

Excellent guide

Our guide Mr. Aekaphol was great! He conducted the tour and took care of us and when my wife and I had to catch a flight, he helped communicated our situation to the taxi driver.

Poor guide

Hours in a bus for not much except a tour guide rushing us. Floating market is really just a tourist trap Train is pretty different Unless you’ve got spare time don’t bother. Maybe a better company would have better guides
