Half-Day Bangkok Off-the-Beaten-Track Tour: Rural Villages and Khlongs

Great tour but pushy guide...

The tour it's self was amazing. It was fun getting to see the way the locals live along the canal system. However my guide was very pushy and didn't even allow me to order for myself at lunchtime. Which made me uncomfortable.

Unique Bangkok experience and great food!

Excellent and unique Bangkok experience, we loved floating through the canals and enjoying views of Buddhist temples and teak houses. The lunch was authentic and very tasty. Thanks!

Quite klongs trip

We did the private tour being collected from our hotel. Worth the extra cost. Our guide Petche was very informative and didn’t rush us at all pointing out lots of places of interest, lunch was included at a canal side restaurant which was fresh and plentiful. Highly Recommend this trip.

Nice trip

Great tour super guide

we had a very nice tour with your guide Sin. The Klong tour was great bij Sin made it fantastic on Friday 21th of July. Sin was helpful, funny, gentle, surprising, …. Compliments !

A fantastic day truly off the beaten track

I’ve been to Bangkok many times, but never had an experience like this. Aeh was a truly amazing guide, he went above and beyond and he knew EVERYTHING. Aeh stayed attuned to my interests and dietary requirements, which made me feel very comfortable and kept the trip extremely interesting. He answered all my questions with professionalism and he pointed out things he somehow knew that I’d like. At first I thought the tour may be overpriced, but it’s worth penny. After the tour, Aeh dropped me off at a place I wanted to go but I didn’t know how to get to - he was just excellent and a great human being overall.

Great Day in Bangkok on the sea !

We had just landed, we were tired but this day was a real pleasure with a great guide, friendly, competent and very professional. I highly recommend this refreshing outing and Neera our great guide.

Unique experience along the canals

This was a truely unique experience! With three different boats we have discovered the rivers and canals of Bangkok and around. Pat our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke german and english. She also selected a very tasty lunch for us and were really happy with the tour.

Private tour with Ben. Great guide! Rode the sky train, subway, tuk-tuk, 3 sizes of boats. Down some Khlongs less traveled. Great lunch.

So worth doing

An amazing tour that I would highly recommend. We got to see areas of Thailand that you would not experience otherwise. It was fun going on all the different boats as transport. The only disappointing part of the say was lunch, was not the best Thai dish that I have had on my travels, would recommend they look for somewhere else,

Great tour

My girlfriend and I greatly enjoyed this tour seeing a much quieter and more peaceful Bangkok as well as the homes on stilts along the rural canals and villages. We highly recommend our tour operator Miss Pat as she was knowledgable, enthuisiastic and made the tour very interesting.

Off the tracks, on the boat in Bangkoks Khlongs

Dearest Sophia picked us up at our hotel, we took the public boat up to the North of Bangkok, where we changed to our private longtail; After cruising an extremely beautiful area, we visited a Wat; Then we had another boat trip, where we saw some Warans, we had typical lunch in a local area! We did our last stop at a local market, where Sophia fed us with lot’s s of sweets! All in all: Sophia was the sweetest guide we ever had; she can really tell you a lot about Thailands history and food! The tour is totally private; On this halfday trip, you gonna see parts of Bangkok, where life is still not that busy! Thank you, Sofia! We really had a good time with you!

Great tour!

Fun and unique. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We took a tuk tuk and 3 different boats to get to a sweet river village outside of Bangkok. Once we we got there, I didn't see any other tourists. Lots of really cool houses on the river and friendly people smiling and waving as we went by. Keep your eyes out for humongous water monitor lizards on the banks or swimming by! We saw several and it was pretty exciting!

Amazing trip and an even more amazing guide

It was nice to experience more of the local life instead of the busy city. It was an absolutely amazing experience and was led by one of the best guides of my 25 day trip so far.

You won't regret it, do this tour!

This was one of the best tours we went on! Jill, our guide, was amazing. She went above and beyond, and insisted on even taking photos of us we otherwise would not have taken. She is very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about local culture, Buddhism, and about their temples. It was so much fun taking the different kinds of boats and seeing everything along the way. To top it off, Jill was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with.

Above and beyond wonderful experience

This tour was above and beyond wonderful and what we expected! Our guide, Sophia, was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, professional, and went out of her way to see to all of our needs throughout the day! Our experience had us being able to see life along the Klong canals, temples/Wats, and local markets. She was always making sure that we were satisfied and the food that we discovered was quite delicious as well. Sophia was one of the most accommodating guides that I have experienced in Thailand in the last three weeks of tours! I cannot recommend her and this tour enough!

Great experience truly off the beaten path

Super great tour with our guide Sofia, we took 6 different means of transportation, tested marvelous street food, and experienced the canals like a local. Sofia provided lots of interesting background information. Loved it!!

Fun tour of the rivers and canals

Great half day tour on the rivers and canals of Bangkok. Our guide Pam was friendly and knowledgeable. The boat travel was fun and a different way to see Bangkok and surrounds. I recommend this tour if you are looking for something a little different away from the Bangkok traffic jams.

Excellent Tour

We took a tour with Sam, I believe (I’m horrible with names). It was excellent! He was extremely knowledgeable.

Very normal

The guide pick up us at the hotel lobby. Then we took the public ferry in north direction. Then we took a long tail boat through the canals. It was nice to see the rural life style ! We visited a small local market and a temple ( nothing special) in Nonthaburi. We also had the opportunity to take a ride on a speed boat. After we had lunch at a local market, very good and tasty food but you also can find it in BKK street food markets. After lunch we took our way back to the city.

The real Bangkok

Been there done that in Bangkok so this trip was enjoyable because you saw and mixed with the locals in their environment. Need to say well done and thank you to our guide 'Pan'.

A very specill trip....

Met at the hotel by tour guide Petch. Took us via taxi to first boat. This took us up the river to the long boat. Only two of us on this trip (we were very lucky) Over to the Bangkok canals. WOW!!! I mean this is stunning. The real thing (see photos) The guide went through history and the locals all waved to us as we went past. I'm sure there are not many excursions here it's so quiet. Then onto the fast Rocket boat. Smaller canals deeper into the jungle. After this back onto the long boat and out to a nice place for lunch, all organised by Petch. Following this she took us around the market and went through all the different spices, live food ect, very interesting and informative. Taxi back and we were done. A very special trip this, I can't recommend enough!!! Super organisation by the perfect tour guide.

This was an amazing experience.

Only few people have discovered this tour yet. I was alone with my excellent guide for the day. It is a great way to experience rural life along the canals north west of Bangkok. We travelled on three kinds of boat and saw sights not possible in the cities. We had a delicious lunch prepared in a small local market. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting a true immersion in Thai life and landscale.

An unforgettable day on the water

Our trip began with a punctual pick-up by our friendly guide directly at the hotel. We felt well looked after from the start. The ferry ride out of Bangkok and the immersion in the idyllic, rural surroundings were a feast for the eyes. We spotted a variety of beautiful bee-eaters, which was a highlight for nature lovers like us. The visit to the local market and a temple not only gave us an insight into local life, but also the opportunity to get to know the culture better. Our guide provided interesting information and patiently answered our questions. The absolute highlight was undoubtedly the change to the speedboat. This unexpected turn brought an extra portion of fun to the day and gave us adrenaline rushes. The entire organization was impeccable. We appreciated the well-thought-out route and the reasonable amount of time we were given at each stop. Overall, this was an unforgettable day that we can recommend to everyone. A big thank you to the entire team for this great experience!

Secret and old places of Bangkok

En underbar dag

Annorlunda och spännande. Var open minded och häng på din guide som berättar och visar i stunden. Mimmi, var vår härliga guide denna dag. Hon var rolig, kunnig och snabb. Vi hade pick up och det var inte det enklaste men vi skrattar åt det i dag. Kaos med Bangkok trafiken. Båtturerna var härliga, vackert och så annorlunda möten med människor. Vi åt enkelt och allt fixades i stunden. Det gillade vi. Stort tack. Rekommenderar er varmt denna resa

A faire au moins une fois

Notre guide Guitar, nous a retrouvé à l'heure prévue à notre hôtel, puis nous avons rejoint les navettes fluviales par le BTS. Puis nous avons pris 3 types de bateaux, sur le grand fleuve puis dans les petits canaux. Nourriture et explications bonnes, guide aux petits soins et poli. Une bonne idée d'excursion sur une demi journée.
