Good day but not enough time at the falls

I give this a 4 out of 5 because we had a fun day, enjoyed the rail, lunch was wonderful (it wasn't a picnic, it was a restaurant and it was really good food), swimming in the waterfalls was refreshing and they were beautiful. Having said that it was a very long day. Long ride up and back. There's 7 levels to the falls and we only had time to get to level 4 (we were given 2 1/2 hrs to explore the falls). If the image in the ad is a true depiction, it must be higher up then level 4 because we didn't see anything that spectacular. I would have preferred more time at the falls even if we missed the rail. After the heat of Bangkok, jumping in the falls and going behind the falls was so much fun.

14 1/2 hour tour - 8 hours in an old tour van

A very long day, guide provided very little information then sent us off on our own. We were instructed to be back at the van at 4:40 PM to begin our 3 1/2 hour van ride home. Only stop was at a 7 Eleven, home at 8:00 PM. They tried to just give a choice of 2 drop off locations but we fought that and they agreed to take us to our hotels. Waterfalls were enjoyable, train ride through the country side was average, lunch was limited to two choices, Pad Thai or Fried Rice, but satisfactory. Way too much time in a very old 15 seater tour van. Would not recommend, especially with children.

Be prepared.

Really enjoyed this trip but be prepared for a long day. We were picked up at 6.40am and there were only 5 on the trip so it made for a close group feel. Our guide was helpful but didn’t really teach us anything, but did look after us well. The cemetery was moving and our guide gave us the option of paying an additional 300 baht to go by boat to the bridge instead of minibus. Definitely do that as it is totally worth it. The trip on the railway was beautiful and we had a nice if a bit basic meal in a restaurant at the end. We then went onto the waterfalls. Be prepared! It took a good hour to walk to the top and was hard work. You need a good level of fitness and wear suitable shoes. It is entirely worth it though as the views were stunning. Our own negative is that we didn’t have enough time there. We needed at least 3 hours to allow for the climb up and then return journey plus some swimming time. Wear shoes on the water that cover your feet as there are hungry fishes nibbling at your toes. The issue with seven levels is you have to climb seven layers. You can’t take water past a certain point and it’s hard work. I’d do it again though given the chance but if you just want to swim stay at level two.

Horrible tour agency Kiyzo

We never went to the tour bcoz the pick up place was wrong. We called so many times to get in touch with the company Kiyzo when there was no one picking us up 10 minutes after the arranged pick up time but no one answered. We texted again and again no one replied.After 3 hours the company Kiyzo replies and says that as we were not at the designated place the local tour guide just left us. Why couldn’t the local tour guide give us a call, he must have had our number though we were never given his number! And Kiyzo can admit that there was some miscommunication but they refused to refund us even 50% of our money. And Viator thru which all this was done also did not even want to listen to our side of the story. Don’t ever book with Viator or Kiyzo! Worst experience. Totally ruined our holidays All other tours that we booked during this trip gave us the local tour guide’s number so that we can communicate. In fact in one of the tours we joined one couple were late at the pick up area and she kept calling the couple and gave directions on how to get to the pick up point while all of us waited.! Why couldn’t Kiyzo go a little way to accommodate their customers !!!!!

Great way to spend the day!

We really enjoyed the train ride, it was beautiful scenery and a nice break from the car ride. The waterfalls were amazing! The hike is definitely a workout, but totally worth it in the end. It was helpful to be able to cool off in the waterfalls on the way up, I would recommend heading straight to the top and then working your way back down since it will take up the most time. The hiking level id say is definitely difficult so keep that in mind. Our tour guide was great! She was very friendly, she gave us good information on the different places we went and gave us our alone time instead of being there every step of the way which we liked. The driver was also great and so was the van that we rode in. Very comfortable for such a long trip. As it mentions on the website bring a towel, swimsuit, and an extra change of clothes for the ride back! We had all of our stuff in a waterproof bag luckily because it poured rain on us while hiking back down. You also need to bring Thailand baht to pay for the life jackets that are mandatory to rent. Also on the website is says that the daily plan is to start at the waterfalls and end with the train, we actually started out at a lovely cemetery that was in connection with the death railroad and then we went there to catch the train. We had about and hour and a half to walk around. We went to the small museum which you also need cash for to get in. We grabbed a quick snack and took some pictures along the bridge and then took the train which was about an hour ride to a great little private lunch spot, we had fried rice, fruit and a lovely fried banana dessert before getting back to the car to head to the waterfalls which was about an hour away. It was nice to break up the 3 hour ride there with these activities. Once we got to the waterfalls we had about 2 hours to hike up and back down which seemed like the perfect amount of time for us. We got up in about 40 mins, taking pictures along the way and hoping in some of the pools. The way down took about half the time and we were able to rinse off, change and head back to meet our tour guide. We also brought some small snacks for the car ride back since it’s 3 hours and around dinner time we were getting hungry. The driver was very punctual, picking us up right on time and getting us back right at 7pm. Also we were supposed to be paired with some more people but I think they may have canceled because it ended up just being my boyfriend and I on the tour. All and all the tour was a great way to spend the day out of the city!

An attraction worth seeing

It was a really long drive to get there but absolutely worth it. I have enjoyed this natural marvel very much. It was amazing to see such nature Even tge locals enjoy this wonder We didn't get to the 7th fall rhis time but we sure do next time

Magnificent waterfall not so far from Bangkok

There are 2 ways to reach the Erawan or & layer waterfall. You can take a bus from Ekkamai bus station (cheapest) if you are staying in Sukhumvit or hire a private car for 4000 Baht. The ride is very smooth and takes around 3 hours to go. Recommended to take a swimsuit n towel along with walking shoes to climb the levels. Each level is a great view to enjoy. Recommend to go up to 7. You can take as many dips you want but there are small fishes which comes in group as soon as you are in the water to eat the dead skins of your. I am not fond of it though. While on our way back, I found a restaurant beside a river which had a great location n view. Found it randomly so don't remember the name.

Amazing day

This tour was great !!! We were picked up promptly and headed towards the first stop. At the first spot we meet up with our tour guide who was with us all day! O (our tour guide) was amazing ! Very informative and helpful in anything we needed. She explaining everything at every stop and always informed us of the time to the next destination or what the next step was. The tour was very well put together. We first stoped at Death Railway and we’re given an introduction to the area and history and were given time to explore on our own. Next stop, waterfalls and lunch. O gave us information about the waterfalls and then gave us free time! There was a new rule being enforced at the waterfalls and O was very quick and helpful to help solve that issue for us. Last stop was River Kwai Tour. It was awesome to ride the train and learn along the way. O was amazing and really made you feel like a friend very quickly ! 10/10 would go again

A Worthwhile Tour

I wanted to see Erawan Falls. I also wanted to tour the area where the Japanese forced the Allied and local prisoners to build the railroad connecting Thailand and Burma. To my knowledge, this was the only tour that combined both. It's a 2 hour ride from Bangkok to the falls. Erawan has 7 levels of waterfalls. Most only get to level 5 because the terrain and degree of difficulty increase with each level. I have a slight disability and only made it to 4. Those who are fit can probably make it all of the way. What is good is that the Falls is the first stop and you have 4 hours until you need to report back to the guide. A free lunch is then provided at one of the restaurants near the entrance/exit to the park. Next comes a drop off at an old WWII area. You're allowed to walk across the train bridge and enjoy the river scenery. As it gets closer to the time that the train will be coming, the guide calls everyone back to the train pick up area. It's a pleasant 45 minute train ride along the river on one side and fields and distant mountains on the other. After a number of stops, the guide tells the group to get off at the next one. The tour van has driven to pick the group up at the train stop. After a 30-40 minute drive, the group is let off at another historical WWII site. This time, we only have 30 minutes to do a lot! There's another bridge to walk across. At certain sections there are stairs in order to get down to an area that has local merchants marketing their goods. There is an old guard tower from the prison camp, a museum and a P.O.W. cemetary. I'm not sure where the P.O.W. cemetary was, I didn't see it. If I had a complaint at all, it would be that I think there should be more time to see things at the end. We were probably rushed a bit at the end because we were running behind. What was supposed to be a 10 hour tour became a 12 hour tour. Considering how much territory was covered, the price was extremely affordable and reasonable. The guides were very friendly and helpful. I gave this tour a rating of 4. Now that I am done with this review, I'm going to try to change it to a 5!

Ehh

The places themselves were nice but I was really looking forward to a tour guide, they didn’t really say anything nor even introduce themselves Before being switched to another and just texted in the phone like the other reviews said. Someone in the group got bit by a monkey and wanted to go to the hospital and they pretty much ignored her the whole time. I didn’t like how they handled that. I would book with a different company this one is sloppy and unorganized. But the places themselves are beautiful and rich. Also please be careful of monkeys, don’t bring food. Or shiny objects.

An amazing journey

By far the Waterfalls were the highlight of this journey and the tour guides were as lovely as they come. They were more than informative and friendly but helpful even in ensuring we took the right paths in our future travel after we left the area to travel south. Highly recommended.

Erawan waterfalls -Death railway & River Kwai

Driver was late 45 minutes without explanation. We used google translator to have simple communication like toileting. Places to visit were an excellent experience.

Not a tour, just a minivan transfer! With train ticket included.

I booked this “tour” despite have trepidation because it hit all 3 things I wanted to do in 1 day. As advertised it did go to these sites as promised and I am happy I was able to see all 3. However that is the end of the positives for this “tour”. Guide joined us at River Kwai, walked us over to the plague and told us to read the information for ourselves. Gave us a few minutes to take pictures, then back in the van for the trip to erawan. Similar experience there. Guide walked us to the base of the falls, told us to pick up the brochure and read about the falls for ourselves. Lunch was supposed to be at 2 with departure for train at 2:30. Apparently this was a very loose guideline which I made the mistake of taking seriously because although I arrived for lunch late I made sure to finish by 2:30 (by the way this was the first food break offered all day which went from 8:30am to 9:30 at night) and hopped in the van in my wet bathing suit. I proceeded to freeze in the air conditioned van for the next 30 minutes while we waited for other members of our group who arrived at 2:30 and proceeded to order there food. Eventually we left without them at 3:00 for another 45 minute drive (still freezing). Train ride was fine, though short. On the way back to Bangkok our van broke down meaning another delay while we joined in with another group in their equally decrepit looking van. During the whole day “guide” is texting and driver is taking personal calls. Finally arrived back in Bangkok after 9pm to Khao San road where driver tried to drop us all off. Keep in mind this was supposed to be a pick up and drop off at ones hotel. I insisted they drive me back to my hotel which I knew was just around the corner. Two drivers proceeded to argue about who was going to drive me back. Eventually the original driver took me but blew past my hotel until I told him to stop! Needless to say I hoped out of there as fast as I could. On top of all this poor service the charge for this “tour” was double what was advertised on trip advisor. Would not recommend this tour.

Mixed Feelings

We chose this trip tour operator over another less expensive one because it advertised guides and the other one had some quite bad reviews. However, at times I felt that maybe I had the reviews mixed up as some of the bad reviews matched some of the trip I was having. Pick up from hotel - on time but no communication from the driver as to what was happening next - we were driven around Bangkok for the next hour picking out more people. We then stopped and everyone sat around in mini-van with no clue as to what was happening. After about 10 mins we were then given stickers and directed to another minivan. After another 5-10 mins another driver got in and starting driving - still no communication as what was happening such as time to get there - no local information just a driver who basically ignored us and drove. After a couple of hours, we finally stopped just before the river Kwai and picked up a guide (?) - who then just told us when and where to get off the minibus and when to meet after seeing the falls. I was disappointed not to be given more information along the route and have a guide telling us about points of interest along the way. Part of the reason I go on tours is to learn about the culture and history - this is not the trip to do if you want that. At the falls more information could have been given as to the change over in the transportation. The falls themselves were great but we were late leaving which made the whole day longer than needed. After the falls we were in a different minivan with a slightly better guide who managed to give us a couple of sentences regarding where we were going next At the death valley train, the guide was good at making sure we were we supposed to be at the right places at the right times and helped us find toilets and water. After the train ride, we had to wait a while for the minibus to catch up with as it had to take some other people to another attraction. The drive back to the city was uneventful except the driver not having been told that we were supposed to be dropped off back at our hotel. He did drop us off in the end and was nice about it. All in all - we did see all the places we were supposed to although had to google information about them. The guides managed to get us where we supposed to be at the right times. The lunch wasn't great but passable. Overall for the money spent I would not travel with this company again.

Erawan waterfalls from bangkok

the best experience from thailand, though a little messy in the beginning because there were two groups one headed for elephant refuge and the other for erawan mixed together, no clue which vehicle to board. overall compact and nice tour.. looking forward to experiencing more with you guys.

Needs improvements

Overall the tour was excellent. The pick up driver was rude and ignorant not telling us anything we were cramped into small minivan for quite a long journey. When we got to bridge we were rushed to see bridge no time to appreciate it. Then changed vans with different driver and a guide so got better waterfalls were very nice a bit less time there and a bit extra at bridge would have been better. The train was really good. On way back guide got off van without saying a word. Got back to Bangkok changed vans, had same ignorant driver we had first thing in morning to take us back to hotel who sat watching TV on a tablet while driving back through busy traffic in Bangkok. The things we saw was excellent. The transport and staff and organisation was bad.

Nightmare tour

Did not get picked up,three calls later by our concierge they send a taxi for us who about 20 min.later dropped us off in the middle of some road in a rather nasty neighborhood and told us we would get picked up in 5 min. which was not true. We attemptrd to call and the whatsapp number is a non-working #. It was our dream to go to River Kwai so we stopped a policeman to call on our behalf and he was told to instruct us to walk 2 shady blocks and wait there. 10 minutes later an extremely old a dirty van packed with people finally arrived. After such ordeal, we stopped to pick up the tour guide at her house, she barely spoke English and texted during the whole trip. Upon our arrival we were told we had only 20 minutes to take pictures. I can go on and on about this nightmare. Bottom line I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. It is irresponsible and dangerous to expose tourists to this type of situation.

Extremely enjoyable

Lots of fun, could have been better if lunch was in a proper restaurant not a plate of street food, considering the paid price. Nevertheless I strongly recommended if one is reasonably fit.

Erawan Waterfalls -death railway n River Kwai Tour

The Erawan waterfalls is excellent . I advice those with youngster or who like to have a good swim ,should just target for the tour to Erawan waterfalls only . As there are seven waterfall and alt least 3 having safe and big pool which you can relax and enjoyed there for 30min on each fall . Waliking up and down already take you at least two hours ,it may take you longer depend on trail condition as certain part may be muddy and with water or rocky . With this tour you need to rush back to meeting point for lunch by 1:40, It is normal you reach there already closed to 11am due to traffic and pick up . So you just left with only 40 min to swim and changing . If you just join the the tour only for Erawan water fall ,then you can stay at water fall until 3:30 pm . It would be good for this tour which blended in with Death River can start one hour earlier .

Hurry

I definitely would recommend to take a look, but would recommend a tour from BKK. You are all the time in a crowded minivan. 3 hours to get there and 3 hours back. The time to take a good look isn't there. It seems that you are in a hurry al the time.

Extremely disappointed, worst tour I have been on.

Let me start with the positives. Erawan Falls was beautiful and for the brief time we spent at Death Railway and Bridge over the River Kwai it was worth the visit. Negatives: The driving to and from these sites was a nightmare. The driver was watching Youtube videos, taking mobile phone calls while travelling at over 120 km/h and he didn't speak a word of english. There was no guide until we picked one up 3 hours into the trip. The guide could speak english, but we were not provided any information on the significance of these sites. The driving component was 10 hours and visiting the attractions was 4 hours. We sat on the side of the road waiting to pick up other passengers from different tours for more than 30 minutes and the driver was rude and ignored our complaints. You couldn't call it a tour, it was a road trip from hell.

Too much travel

We booked the erawan waterfalls and the death man trail. Although the locations were beautiful we had too less time to.take a good look everywhere. The trip from BKK to the locations is a disaster. On fortunately it is in a minivan not comfortable and it takes too much time to get you there. For the same money you can get a taxi driver to drive you to there and back.

Best of Thailand Nature

The Climbing to the top was lot easier than i expected, take caution while climbing, rocks are very slippery. I also recommend a good pair of hiking shoes. I really loved this trip. Thanks kiyzo management for arranging.

Gorgeous seven Level waterfall Erawan Thailand

Super enjoyable trip. Everything was on time. Hiking along the natural water slides of Erawan was overwhelming ,each level had something different and getting to the top is well worth the effort.There is a great place to sit and dangle your feet into the water for fish spa. At some parts the rocks are very slippery. The last visit to River Kwai and Train Ride at Death railway topped up our day.Thanks Kiyzo Team For A Great Service

Finest Waterfall in Thailand

Great escape into nature, we were there early,good timing to avoid crowd. Erawan is absolutely one of the best waterfalls I've ever seen! After swimming and hiking we head to kachanaburi, where we took a train ride at the death railway. I really enjoyed,highly recommend this day trip from Bangkok

Haced la excursión por vuestra cuenta

La excursión no merece la pena. El precio es desorbitado para lo que incluye, prácticamente lo único que hacen es llevarte al sitio: no te acompañan en las cataratas y la guía no explica nada ni aporta información cuando le preguntabas tus dudas sobre el tren que se visita después. En resumidas cuentas, alquilad el transporte por otro lado, cuando llegamos a Bangkok hay muchos sitios que te ofrecen llevarte a un precio muy económico, la ruta por las cataratas se puede hacer perfectamente por tu cuenta y sin límite de tiempo como sí te ponen con esta excursión y los sitios que hay en la entrada del parque para comer son muy baratos y se come muy bien.

Beau site, mais attention, il y a du sport !

C'est un beau site, mais peu de débit d'eau pour les chutes en ce mois de Janvier et donc un peu moins spectaculaires que sur les photos. Mais cela vaut le coup tout de même. De plus c'est un site où il faut être bon marcheur car pas mal d'escaliers. Beaucoup de route depuis Bangkok.

Magnifiques cascades d'Erawan

Magnifiques cascades, mais peu de temps pour en profiter, bon repas, très belles découvertes du chemin de fer de la mort et du pont sur la rivière Kwaï. Nous deconseillons la balade à dos d'éléphants, pour leurs bien être. (Pâte attaché au sol sans liberté de mouvement, mal nourris, et en plein soleil, dans leurs escrements).

Cascades d'erawan

Très belles cascades 7 au total, chemin assez facile jusqu'à la 5ème, on se baigne quand on veut plutôt dans celles du bas car tout le monde grimpe en haut. Attention y aller dès l'ouverture à 8 h après les cars débarquent et c'est blindé. Prix d'entrée 300 baths par adulte, pique nique interdit dans les cascades.

ガイドは片道2時間の移動と行っていたが、4時間かかった。迎えも45分遅れた。 移動の車はリクライニングもない補助席で最悪だった。観光地の見所などの説明どころか、1日の流れさえも説明がない(ウソをついている)

Belle excursion à faire et bien organisée !

Les cascades d'Erawan sont un must à visiter. Très belle couleur de l'eau dans différents bassins où l'on peut se baigner. Très bonne organisation. Notre guide thaïlandais (Tik) est un passionné de la nature et adore partager sa passion.

superbe endroit

Un parc bien amenagé avec des cascades magnifiques. On peut s'y baigner et se faire manger les pieds par des petits poissons. Le coté aménagé et la fréquentation importante enléve un peu du charme "nature" mais c'est un trés bel endroit . Nous avons ue la chance de croiser des singes.

Nature au rendez-vous

Très belle journée dans l’ensemble - le conducteur (peu sympathique...) du mini bus est arrivé comme prévu à l’heure. Le trajet est assez long (3h) mais la route est belle à voir. Les endroits visités ont tous eu un intérêt ! Même si j’aurais aimé accorder un peu plus de temps lors de l'excursion des cascades. Je recommande grandement si vous êtes en quête de nature ! Penser à prendre de bonnes chaussures de marche + pour se baigner dans les cascades.

Au top

On avait rdv à 6h30, le chauffeur privé était devant notre hôtel avant 6h20, donc très ponctuel! Les 3 lieux citées on été respecté, on les a tous fait, Vers 14h après les cascades on a eût une assiette de fruits, bouteilles d'eau, repas (choix entre riz/nouilles) En bref c'était super, je recommande cette excursion!!! Petits comme grands, nous avons adoré!!!!

Nos han timado.

La excursión a las cataratas genial. Pero una vez salimos de ahí dirección al río Kwai, al cabo del rato la furgoneta paró y el guía dijo que teníamos 30 min para ir al baño. Cuando volvimos del baño dijo que íbamos directos a Bangkok. Le pregunté que qué pasaba con el puente del tren? Y me respondió que era la parada que acabábamos de hacer. Es decir, que en realidad, ni te informan de que han parado en el sitio, ni te dan información y encima nos quedamos sin ver el tren ni el puente!!! Su respuesta es que es lo que hay 🤷. Y que nada de darte ninguna compensación. Pésimos!!!
