We completed this tour yesterday with our teenage family. We had a great day, very enjoyable and informative. Our guide ‘Ole’ was excellent; very knowledgeable, personable, professional and fun. Highly recommended!

Great tour!!

We had a great day seeing some of Bangkok’s most beautiful sites. The Grand Palace and Temple were amazing and we enjoyed learning about the history and meaning of different things. We loved the boat and tuk tuk rides and had the best guide, Pam. We would highly recommend!!

Amazing tour

I loved the longtail boat ride and the Queen’s textile exhibit. Everything was amazing and Apple was a great guide!

Guide that felt like family

Absolutely fantastic tour! I was the only person signed up so I got a totally private and customized tour :) my guide shared so much interesting information, and even got me snack and water along the way. It was extremely hot on the day of the tour (42C) but well worth it!!

Nice experience

Recommend this tour, covers a good amount of places. Carry water and wear appropriate clothes. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Apple. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Great intro to Bangkok

Great introduction to some of Bangkok’s main attractions. Our guide Pam was friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. It was great to see the city from the river during the longboat ride. The Grand Palace is a big area with a lot of significant places, so you do a lot of walking. (Be prepared.) The air conditioned bus ride to Wat Pho, although short, was a welcome relief from the heat. Overall, a great tour for anyone who can handle a lot of walking in hot weather.

A great mix of experience

One of the best tour I have joined in my years of travelling. The tour has little bit of everything. Walking, tuktuk, longtail boat and live traditional dance show. It covers temples, palace, river and a royal theatre. I was lucky that no other people joined so it became like a private tour. Tour guide Pamela is such an angel! She is knowledgeable, very attentive and caring. And she takes great photos! She knows where are the great angles and where I should be positioned to get great snapshots. I never felt rushed and in the end she helped me at the metro station to go back to my accommodation.

Wonderful tour with great info

Wonderful tour with a very knowledgeable guide who spoke perfect English. We had a great time looking at the temples and the boat tour was a good time to recover from walking.

Excellent tour, a must do in Bangkok

The tour guide Nine was excellent- knowledgeable and friendly. The tour progressed smoothly despite the on and off drizzle. The Grand Palace was large and required a bit of a walk, but Nine was able to tell us stories about the history and buildings. The river cruise on the Chao Praya was an eye opener, the river locks were fascinating. Wat Pho was awe inspiring. We had a good time and felt we covered a lot of ground despite the rain.

Real Local Experience

I came across this tour after a recommendation from a fellow traveller and I was thoroughly surprised on an area of the city I haven't yet come across in the time I have been in Bangkok. A much more relaxing way to explore the city on a traditional longtail boat, which is owned by a local, and with the help of the guide, they shared their own stories which helped to provide a real local experience. After the boat, we were taken to the enchanting Grand Palace and learnt more about the Buddhism. As a solo traveler, I really enjoyed seeing an alternative area of the city, away from all the crowds, with real local people.

Excellent and fun tour.

We had a great time on this city tour with our super-informative and enthusiastic guide, Pam. We walked around the beautiful Wat Pho, took a ride on a city bus, had a boat ride in the river, and walked around the stunning Grand Palace. Our guide Pam was a wealth of knowledge, and she had boundless energy. Lots of fun.

Temple highlights with a relaxing cruise

Started with a peaceful wander around Wat Pho, taking in the culture. Then the canal cruise which was nice too, especially stopping to feed the fish in the river. We then went to the amazing Grand Palace which was pretty mesmerising however, be warned, it is extremely crowded. We chose not to see the emerald Buddha due to the length of the queue and the heat. The entrance ticket includes a traditional Thai show at the theatre not far from the Grand Palace. There are free shuttle buses to the theatre outside. Amin was a good guide, seemed a bit rushed but probably due to the short 4 hour time frame. Very knowledgeable and funny. Overall it was a great tour, would recommend.

Best tourist highlights - great guide

Our guide, Pokémon, did a wonderful job navigating us quickly through the most popular (and busy) tourist attractions in Bangkok. He has extensive knowledge of the history and communicated very clearly in English. The tour was exactly as described and he was humorous as well.

A must while in Bangkok

Pam was our guide for a fun filled day. Man she did not disappoint! Her enthusiasm throughout the tour was evident at the beginning til the end. She explained culture, history, food, safety, and most of all interacted with each and every person. Laughing the entire time. Great tour and ask for Pam!

Wonderful guide

Excellent guide Mon, very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and speaks lots of languages! Took us round the main sights with funny stories and took lots of nice photos for us! Was nice to get out the crowds for the river cruise to see the real Bangkok for locals. Brilliant half day tour, thank you Mon!

Amazing tour

I highly recommend Urban Adventures’ Temple and River King tour with guide, A. A has extensive knowledge about the history of the Temples and Palace and he made the tour so enjoyable. Can’t say enough good things about A.

Great way to see Bangkok’s highlights in 1/2 day

Overall, I enjoyed the tour and especially the canal cruise. I wish the local tour guide gave more time for photos though

Fantastic Tour in Bangkok

Tour included two of the major attractions of Bangkok, Wat Pho (Reclining Buddha) and the Grand Palace. Additionally, the tour includes time in a long tail boat (a 'unique' mode of transit, no spoilers) exploring the canal system of the city, revealing many off the trail sights and was a blast when the boat picked up speed. Our guide 'A' was excellent in explaining the sites and history, of showing all the hidden features, and extremely attentive and supportive for any hiccups that where experienced during the tour. Highly recommend this tour!

Great tour with a nice guide called Mon

Definitely something to recommend to everyone, especially if you are not staying in Bangkok for more days. In 4 hours you experience different things and visit most important attractions of the city which probably would be difficult to do in one morning by yourself. It is good that it starts at 8.30 since after it gets quite hot. Mon was a very sweet, fun, reliable and interesting tour guide! Have fun in Bangkok and don't forget your hats and sunglasses.

Fantastic tour with "A" - Go for this tour

Booked as solo. We were 4 in the tour. Our tour guide "A" (yes that is his name) made all the difference. The tour follow the description, A makes it feel personal and customized to what is going on. The tour went for 5.5 h, A asked a couple of times if we were all ok taking it longer. A gives more than enough information about everything but he as well does really well in explaining in a very personal way the Thai culture. Net, if you are looking for a trip to see the Bangkok highlights through the channels, with a small group and a fun and personal guide, this is your tour. We finished at the Flower Market, so I strolled through it and from there is a quick walk to China Town. No guide needed for that. Worth every penny. Great memories.

Excellent tour with "A" - highly recommended and great value

I booked this tour as a way to get to see the big sights of Bangkok quickly before a bigger trip across Thailand and Cambodia, and it over delivered. I arrived at our meeting point with seconds to spare and, to my some what horror (naturally I'm socially awkward and in this case I was also pretty hungover & jetlagged), found I was the only one on the tour. Immediately "A" put me to ease with charm and constant chat, and we went on a great tour of the Grand Palace, a break in a cafe with A/C for a drink, the tour of Wat Pho, another quick iced coffee, and ended on the boat tour of the old/west of the river side of Bangkok. "A" constantly provided me with great facts of the sites, got me around them quickly and efficiently while we battled the crowds. "A" also effectively lead my first ever photoshoot as I was on the only guest on this tour and insisted on taking my picture at every opportunity (which really pleased my Mum!). All of the pictures in this review "A" took and emailed to me after the tour (this is a mere sample of the approx 55 sent!!) - this was above and beyond a guide's role and was an added bonus (and should be noted couldn't really be expected with a big tour group). We also jumped on and off some local buses, something I didn't have the confidence to do on my own and was a great way to see the "real" Bangkok outside of cabs and tuktuks. "A" knew a lot of the other guides and staff at the sites, bantering with locals on the buses, and generally being kind and helpful to other tourists - it really added something to be with such a great ambassador for Bangkok and Thailand generally, and selfishly felt great to know you were with the best guide on site :) The sites themselves were particularly spectacular, a few days before I had been on a sight seeing trip in London with relatives, and the Tower of London/Tower Bridge/Westminister Palace had nothing on the beauty at the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. It's on a whole new level, and combines spectacular architecture that is under pinned with deep religious significance and respect for Thai royalty. It's pretty sick. "A" kindly bought me an ice coffee from a street vendor after the Grand Palace and Wat Pho tours which I really enjoyed (the ice, caffeine and sugar gave me a much required boost at the end for the boat trip). We then ended the tour on a boat trip, on a quite choppy Chao Phraya River, that then went into Bangkok's canal system west of the river. Our long boat moved fairly quickly, but always felt safe, and it was a good opportunity to sit, relax and look at a different older/less affluent side of Bangkok. With an engine roaring A didn't say as much, but left me to have a look while providing me with the occasional fact (and continued with the photos). Finally we were dropped off by the flower market and went our separate ways. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone wanting to see the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, the river boat was a good wind down after an intense few hours and a great way to finish. We were out for a good 5 hours (great value!) but for those with mobility issues, are older or don't deal with the heat well I'd suggest considering shorter tours with A and Urbanadventures, I finished the tour (albeit a bit hungover and jetlagged having landed 24 hours before) pretty tired and consider myself fairly fit/just nailed a fairly quick marathon race a few days before. For everyone else I genuinely can't see a reason not to go on urbanadventures on this - going round with a guide means you get a lot more out of the experience and justifies the relatively small expense.... And if it hasn't come across yet I can't recommend "A" enough, a great guide, who also gave me great insight into Thai life and local culture. I'll be recommending "A" and the tour to anyone I know going to Bangkok, and hope to revisit the area soon so I can book another with them! Don't hesitate and book!

Great experience and guide tour!

We had an amazing time and learned so much about the history of Bangkok and it’s temples and kings. Our travel guide Pat. T. was fantastic and so proud and passionate about her culture and not mentioned so kind with us. She really knew so much about everything it was inspiring. It’s really true, the locals know better 🙏🏻

Perfect day tour

Had a perfect day out, our guide "A" was so so helpful and friendly. We saw the main attractions and learnt just the right amount of history too. Our guide made sure we got all the best pictures and had time to enjoy all the sights. A stayed with us for the afternoon and showed some authentic Thai food and give us great tips for the rest of our stay. Would 100% recommend!

Excellent and comprehensive tour! Pam was an excellent guide and had a lot of local knowledge. Not only did she teach about the tour but also gave us tips for while we were in Bangkok. Excellent tour filled with highlights.

This was the only outfit that would accept a booking for one person. NAI was an excellent guide, not only did we visit major sites but he was willing and able to answer questions I had about all aspects of his country.He was even willing to show me a restaurant close to my hotel and suggest what to have as my first Thai meal . Excellent way to see the city!

I went on this tour my first day in Bangkok, and it was a great way to see the city! Our guide, A, went above and beyond in taking us around and sharing with us the history of the city, along with tips, tricks, and recommendations. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone who wants an introduction to Bangkok. And thanks A for such an awesome day!

Worth the $$$$

I really enjoyed this tour. Pam our guide was really friendly and happy. Her English was excellent and it was so good to have someone with historic knowledge and personal experience with events that have happened in Thailand. She was really enthusiastic and patient and helpful with taking photos. She offered to take photos of for people on the tour. The Grand Palace is incredible! Really something people must see. The reclining Buddha is so impressive. I think it is a good tour for anyone wanting a taste of Bangkok history.

Temple & River of Kings Urban Adventure

Awesome tour! Boat is great and you get to see alot often city as well as some quite places along the canals. Pam was amazing, she had a great knowledge of everything Thai, from history and culture to tips on getting around Bangkok. Highly recommended!

History and culture with a wonderful guide

This half day tour was a definite highlight of our time in Bangkok. Our guide Pam was very knowledgeable and helpful. Her in depth information about Bangkok history, the Royal dynasty and Buddhism added to our tour. We were fortunate to have a tour with only two of us, and Pam went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. She even escorted us to the railway station at the end of the tour to help us find the right train. Her knowledge of the Grand Palace and Way Pho helped us enjoy these spectacular places even more. The long boat ride through the canals was fascinating. This tour gives an excellent overview of two of Bangkok's most amazing sights. I highly recommend it, and especially if Pam is your guide.

Awesome experience

This was the only tour I booked in Bangkok based on past excellent reviews. I’m very happy it did. I was told that I was the only one on the tour but when I got to the meeting point and found my tour guide he intermediate to a very nice couple from Tennessee. It was just us three plus our tour guide Nai. We had a wonderful time. Nai is the kind of guide that you want to take everywhere with you. His knowledge of Bangkok, the royal family, Buddhism and history are incredibly interesting. I’ll never forget this adventure. Thank you Nai, you are an excellent person.

Great Morning Tour to see Bangkok Highlights

This tour was a great option too see the city’s highlights in one day. Our tour guide, Nai, was very informative and made sure we had a great time. The small group was excellent as we had one on one time with the guide, Nai was kind enough to take our pictures at all the highlights and sent them via email. The canal ride was a fun surprise seeing the city by boat but also the canals were locals live. The Grand Palace and Wat Pho can be very busy but with the tour group we went right in and had a personalized tour of all the highlights. The tour guide made sure we made bathroom stops and breaks for coffee and water, which is a must in the heat. All around, this was an excellent tour, we are thankful for Nai sharing is knowledge and beautiful city with us!

Great cultural trip

My mum and I both loved the Bangkok Grand Palace and River of Kings Canal cruise trip! The views are stunning, the cruise was refreshing. There was only 4 of us on the tour, everything was well explained and Nai, our tour guide was exceptional! He made sure everyone was well looked after, especially in the crowded palace. He took lots of lovely photos of all on the tour, had a great sense of humour and was clearly passionate about his job and history of Thailand and Bangkok. He made sure we all got back to the hotel safely after the tour. I’d definitely recommend this tour, Urban Adventures and Nai!

Highly recommend - short and sweet tour of Bangkok hot spots

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Although the Grand Palace is bustling with tourists, the site is worth a visit for its jaw-dropping architecture. We were expertly navigated through by Pam - I couldn’t have hoped for a better guide. The canal cruise is most enjoyable following the bustling crowds of The Grand Palace. Highly recommend!

Amazing tour led by insightful guide

We had the most amazing half day tour of Bangkok made even better by the our fantastic guide Pat. She shared insightful knowledge and was a great story teller. Pat knew the best places to stop and takes photos and even provided us with ice creams and cold water. We learnt so much on our tour and cannot recommend this tour and our tour guide more!!

Palace and rivewr trip.

We went with Absolute Bangkok and had a fascinating day with Miss Fong who was an excellent tour guide. The river trip was great - we saw komodo dragons on the river banks and it was interesting seeing the different types of houses along the river banks.

Wonderful morning exploring the best on Bangkok.

Pepae was a great guide who knew all about what I needed to know. Kept up my interest all the way. Was the only one on the tour. While other companies might have cancelled, it was great that Urban Adventures ran the tour, as this was the only date that worked for me.

Grand palace tour

Nai was truly amazing!! He was so knowledgeable and easy to get along with. He gave us many recommendations and even pointed us to a lunch restaurant for after the tour! The next tour I book, I will be asking for Nai!

Unimpressed-

This was not my first trip to Thailand & I have been on plenty of tours so my feedback comes from experience in Thailand. For the price of this tour, Bangkok Grand Palace & River of Kings CanaI Cruise, I expected more. Catching the local bus & walking were fine, but for the high price I am unclear as to why a Tuk-Tuk was not part of the package. Additionally, this tour lacked ‘perks’ I’ve experienced with other tour packages ( that cost less)...cold clothes to cool off with, free water at designated points, and a sampling of local food. They were not mentioned but would have made the tour more complete. There was nothing on this tour that made it especially memorable (with exception of my friendly & personable guide). Tourists-Save yourself the money & take a Tuk-Tuk to the Grand Palace & right next door to the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. Additionally, you can get a canal cruise (located just opposite the Grand Palace) super cheap. Recommendations for Tour operators: Know you have stiff competition in Bangkok & give your customers an experience! Start with water & a snack!

Awesome half day tour in Bangkok

Pam is a local-born tour guide and she was awesome. I was fortunate to be the sole member of the tour this particular Friday in May and Pam gave me the VIP treatment. She has really done her homework and knew all there was to know about the places we visited and well beyond. I loved the trip by boat through Bangkok's canal network - there was something to look at at every turn. The Grand Palace was also awesome to explore. Pam made me pose for photos on my camera at all the most memorable spots and I have a great collection of shots from this visit. The reclining buddha at Wat Po was also memorable. In sum, this tour was money well worthwhile. It gave me a snapshot of some of Bangkok's most notable attractions and delivered in a very personable package. RECOMMENDED!
