Learnt to cook some yummy Thai meals

Class started with an informative walk through a local market. Then back at the school the ingredients for each of the dishes were explained. We prepared all the elements of the dishes, cooked them - and then tried to eat them all. Take away was possible for what I couldn’t eat.

Exceptional cookery class that made making Thai food a breeze.

I booked online for this course the night before and did not realise that I had to select the dishes I wanted to make. On meeting one of the staff, at the welcome point, he got the message to the kitchen with my chosen dishes. We walked from the meeting point to a lovely small, hidden local market, where ingredients were explained and we could smell and taste some of them. Off to the kitchen and we all have to grind our spices for the curry we had chosen to cook. Even though the participants did not know each other, we chatted and learnt where we were all from. We were guided through all the stages of preparation and cooking. I made Tom Yum soup, red curry, Phad Thai and Black Pepper Beef. As we were running short of time, they had prepared the mango and sticky rice. The afternoon sped by and a veritable feast was enjoyed. Awesome chef, awesome class. I will go back for another class on another visit.

Learn Thai treats from the best

The whole experience was great. The chef and assistants were very helpful, knowledgeable and organized for the group. We ended totally full with the yummy dishes we created.

Instructions could have been better about the meeting point… but the class and food were spectacular!!!

Just like a factory assembly line

The tutor and assistant tutor don’t chat too much. Surely a strict and serious class like a military training and the tutor would shoot to ask everyone questions. The female assistant didn’t talk too much for her indifferent role. All ingredients and sauces are already there for you to mix and cook. You don’t have chance to measure or feel to add them individually into the wok. In the frying session, the tutor stood down and the female assistant came to take charge. She didn’t manage to explain the techniques in cooking but only telling the sequence of putting the ingredients and mixed sauces into the wok. Please join them and I would Like to hear your comments on my observations.

Great Tour

We really enjoyed the cooking part of the tour. The meals were some of the best Thai food we have ever had. Chef was excellent as was her staff. This was our most enjoyable tour during our Thailand vacation.

Totally worth doing and great value!

This class was amazing and great value for how much food you ended up preparing and eating. The pick up point can be a bit confusing but a quick call to clarify dealt with any confusion! We were offered many dishes to make and we all chose something a little different from each other in order that we got the most experience in making the various dishes. I chose a green curry paste, green curry chicken, Tom yum soup with shrimp, another chicken dish and we also were shown how to make mango sticky rice and provided a dish of it for dessert. The market tour was quick but informative and then it was straight to the cooking academy which was steps away to make all of the dishes. There was a ton of food which we ate for lunch at the academy, and then we took our leftovers back to our condo, which they packaged up for us, and had the remaining dishes for dinner. All recipes I made were included, as well as many others were provided via a QR code and I have since returned home and made several of the dishes at home. This was well worth the money and is highly recommended.

Brilliant class!

Great cooking course with the options to choose your dishes which was a bonus because we could watch and learn the other dishes that we weren’t making too. The only downside was the meeting point, it was very vague, we didn’t travel by train so we couldn’t find it. It would be better to put the schools address so we could have just gone directly to it instead of waiting around on the street.

A Great Time

Making all the ingredients was awesome, but putting it together and tasting the outcome was the best part. Chef was amazing!

Well organised, good atmosphere, great food!

Had a great time learning and cooking 4 dishes. There are choices available for each of the 4 and vegetarians and vegan seemed to be well catered for too. I missed the market tour as I was late so can’t comment on that. The chef had a great sense of humour, balanced with keeping us on track. From pounding our own curry paste to subtle cooking tips - I learnt a lot. I think having more time and some cocktails would be an awesome option to be available.

Simply incredible - do it!

This was one the most enjoyable things I've ever done! The best thing was, we were able to choose what we wanted to make - one appetizer, one stir fry, one curry etc. We even made the curry paste from scratch. Everyone had slightly different dishes - so even though I learned 5 in good detail, I feel as if I've really learned so much more. When I was eating the food, I have to admit I couldn't believe that I cooked it - everything tasted so incredible. At the end they made sure to give us the recipes, so we can have a go at home. The lead chef was also great, had a good sense of humor, and made everyone enjoy the class. PS: Do NOT eat before you get here - you will make so much yummy food.

The Best

Just excellent. I have been cooking Thai and follow videos and read recipes but this was another level! They were super organised and I can't believe the taste of things we cooked. Very hands on and just the best! A must do : )

Highly recommend

I highly recommend this cooking class. It is very easily accessible and we were picked up by the chef at the BTS station. Before the cooking class, we were shown a local market and all the products that are necessary for traditional Thai cuisine, which itself was already a great experience and so interesting. The cooking class itself was very well organized. All the ingredients for the dishes we had chosen were already assembled at each participant's cooking station. For each dish, the chef explained what the ingredients were, how they are traditionally prepared etc. The cooking was so much fun and we got to eat everything we prepared (the dishes were extremely tasty). Anything we couldn't finish, we could wrap and take to the hotel. The ambience of the entire class was very fun, relaxed and personal. We could ask questions at any time. At the end, we received a certificate and a link to access the recipes online. If I ever go back to Bangkok I will certainly join one of their classes again! It was a great experience.

A fantastic experience that I would definitely recommend to anyone. The staff were fun and friendly and the food was delicious.

All and all it was a good time and I would do it again.

This one was a lot like the food delivery meal services. They had everything portioned. You just have to listen to the instructor, cut the food and cook it.

Nothing an online video couldn't teach you

The whole experience seemed rushed and with little interest in providing a fun time. You just put some ingredients that are pre-organized together. You can learn to make these dishes using online videos without spending the money and wasting time that can be used on sightseeing.

Amazing experience

I loved this cooking class. The chef was so knowledgeable and clear. The chef led the class well and everything was super organized. The market tour was super informative. If you love to cook and learn more about a culture, definitely do this activity. Everyone was so nice and there was so much food left. I took it all home and fed my cousins. I also love that they give you an option to pick from 20 dishes. Furthermore, the meet up location was easy. I took a bolt down to the meet up location. I loved this experience.

Cooking Thai style

The cooking experience was enjoyable and our guide was very knowledgeable. It’s not a full market tour as such, where you buy the ingredients it’s more just the guide explaining the ingredients that you will be using in your dishes. Overall it was good. 5 dishes cooked, and it was fun.

Great way to cook and meet people

Meet up was easy. Exploring the market was informative and chef did a great job introducing us to local produce and its uses. The class was paced well, fun, and the food super tasty with the added bonus of not having to do any dishes.

Made A Chef Outta Me

This cooking class was such a nice treat to participate in on this trip! I enjoy Thai food in my take out option’s usually, so to create these dishes that I pay $15 or more for is something I can recreate for less on my own..but I need motivation…so here we are! Prior to preparing our food-we went to the market to learn about our ingredients! Once we arrived to the classroom, our instructor was great and provided the class with how and in what order we would use everything to prepare our meals! Me and my group had a great time and was amazed at the final product and it was tasty Y’all…Yummy!

Fun, Organized, and Tasty!

What a great experience! My wife and I had a blast learning how to cook a variety of Thai classics. The cooking was well organized and our teacher had a great sense of humor. Don't eat before coming to this class as you will make full portions of four dishes + dessert!

As far as cooking classes, by far one of the best experiences I've had. It was so organized and fun with great options on the menu.

Amazing dishes

We had a small visit to the market where we learned about the different vegetables and herbs. Then we returned to the classroom where are stations were pre prepared with all our ingredients for our dishes.it was very well organized and the dishes turned out amazing! 5 dishes way too much to eat, but was totally impressed with the dishes.

A Fun and Productive Afternoon

A fantastic way to spend an afternoon (or morning). The pick up point was a doddle to find. Our friendly guide took us to the market to explain the many spices and vegetables we’d be using, which was very interesting, and to the school next door. Everything was so well organised. Our ingredients were already laid out for each of us. The head chef, a really funny lady, took us through the prep. Grinding, or should I say pounding, the paste certainly takes some work. And then off to cooking which was also meticulously choreographed. Then to the communal eating. No word of a lie, the best Thai food I’ve ever eaten! If you’re a foodie then this is the course for you. I couldn’t imagine a better school. It’s also worth noting that the school also teaches professional chefs so they know their galangal.

Thumbs up cooking experience

We had troubles following the directions to get there but the cooking experience met all our expectations. I liked the fact that you had input on the dishes you cooked and the spice level. Lots of helpers around during the class.

Loved it!!!

From start to finish, I loved this experience. First, we met a coordinator at the indicated meeting location, who had us select which dishes we wanted to make. After everyone arrived, we walked to the cooking school, which was only a few minutes away. We then were introduced to our instructor and went to the local market and learned about different herbs and vegetables. Then, we returned to the cooking school and learned the different ingredients we would be using for the dishes that we had pre-selected. We chopped our ingredients and made our own curry paste, which gave me a lot of respect for people who make curries (it takes real physical effort using the mortar and pestle). We cooked our dishes and then sat down to enjoy them. It was way more food than you can possibly eat, but the food was probably the most delicious food I had ever made myself. It was wonderful! The instructor was fun and you interact with the other members of your group even if you are like me who knew no one else as a solo traveler. If I return to Bangkok I would do it all over again, it was that good.

The experience was lovely. The market visit was fun. I like that we could choose from an array of dishes. This is a hands on class.

So tasty and so much fun

The whole activity was set out and organised very well. It went quick but quite smooth as well. The lead chef was really nice and funny. We had a great time and the food was amazing. I’d advise not eating before as you cook so much food.

amazing experience!! a must do!

this was such an amazing cooking class. first they take you to the local market to learn all about the ingredients you will be using. then you go back to the school and start prepping 4 dishes. the chef was so patient, as I’m sure dealing with 12 people who all have different levels of skill can be quite difficult. the chef makes sure to explain every step along the way and then you get to cooking. cooking with a wok in a fast paced environment may seem overwhelming but they actually make it very simple. even those who cannot cook will be able to easily whip up seemingly difficult dishes! such a great experience, would recommend to anyone!!!

Enjoyable and fun

Chef Lekky is bubbly and knowledgeable. Live experience with anecdotes was helpful. Appreciate the cleanliness, preparedness and presence of additional staff to help out. Kitchen is well prepared with more than 1 wok when we cook different dishes. When we made reference to recipe online, it was different though. Overall, good experience.

Practical Thai Cookery

This was a very practical course (very much “hands on” compared to a previous experience) with a visit to a local market, getting to know the local produce and returning to the kitchen to prepare 4 main dishes. Most enjoyable.

Awesome Thai cooking school activity - highly recommend

Awesome activity with my teen kids! So well organised from start to finish. We made a trip to the market with our fabulous chef where we learnt all about the key ingredients, and went back to the cooking school to make 5 traditional Thai dishes. The instructions were 100% clear and concise and sooooo much fun. We enjoyed our delicious meals with a cold beer. Loved every minute. Definitely recommend.

Excellent experience of cooking Thai cuisine

Very well organized, right from pick up point , fresh market tour , then to the cooking class where 18 persons can take the class . The chef spoke very good English , explained clearly the process. Everyone had pre picked their cooking choices and the ingredients were ready for everyone. The class starts with an explanation and understanding of the herbs, spices , sauces etc and the cutting, chopping etc and then we move to the cooking section . Once cooking dine we all got to taste and enjoy our cooking . The taste came out quite authentic as the ingredients were very fresh and well proportioned. We all packed our leftovers and enjoyed for dinner too . A very good experience overall .

I liked that you got to pick the dishes you cooked and the setup of the class made it easy to follow the chef. Nothing fancy but the food was excellent and you will go away with a desire to go shopping and cook!

Fun while learning how to cook amazing Thai food

We absolutely love this class!! The food is amazing and you cook it! The chef/instructor is fun and awesome. You will have a great time. We lived in Bangkok for an extended period of time so we have taken this class 7 times! The market tour is quick and fun. I highly recommend this class. It's 100% hands on and that's important to me.

Thai cooking

Loved the whole class. Our teacher was amazing and very informative, walked through a market briefly then chose 4 dishes to make along with a curry paste. Ingredients were laid out ready to go and explained as we prepared each dish. Only thing I would comment on was when we were eating at the end the guy walked around offering a beer in a friendly manner so we were pleased and took the beers then before we left found out the beers had to be paid for. Just seemed a bit sneaky as he definitely gave the impression that they were included. We probably would have still got them if he juat said they were ?baht each.
