Bangkok Meridian Dinner Cruise from ICONSIAM

Do not do this, it’s horrible and disgusting!

Everything was so terrible that I didn’t want to take pictures of anything. Stink, dirt, cheap tables, terrible buffet, the tables were packed tightly (apparently it’s more profitable), our table was right under the air conditioner, I somehow persuaded them to move us. The waitress dropped a flower from the fruit plate on the floor and put it back, we definitely decided not to eat anything. On the open deck, tables are placed even on the bow of the ship, which means it is impossible to take photographs there - the front part of the deck must be free of tables! The windows are dirty. But the worst thing is that the music is so loud that it PHYSICALLY HURTS. And there is nowhere to hide from it. This is many times louder than you can imagine! Cockroaches. We saw one cockroach get into the refrigerator. The kitchen is not neat and dirty. The toilet is terrible. I found a way to escape by inserting headphones into my ears without sound, went up to the 2nd floor (the sound there was just hell), and there were literally half-dead people sitting there... there was nowhere to escape. Horrible tourist trap. Don't go there! Horrible two hours of life. As soon as the ship docked, people ran out in a depressed state.

Dismal, look elsewhere.

This was the worst cruise tour that I have ever experienced. My companion and I were seated at what had to be the worst table imaginable, basically in the hold of the ship just outside the toilet. There are two levels on the boat, the main deck and the lower level just above the waterline. We were in the latter and our table was at the very back. My chair faced the women's toilet. My campanion's faced forward, but was next to a post, so had no view out the window. It didn't really matter, since the windows were covered in dirty, scratched plexiglass, so you couldn't see anything through them, even if your view hadn't been blocked by a post. The listing said the tour included a complimentary cocktail and free soft drinks, but the only thing we were offered was water. There was entertainment, but from my seat I certainly couldn't see it, only the toilet. The tour could have partially redeemed itself if there had been some place on the upper level where we could have gone after dinner to see the sights and take photos, but there was not. Any areas, fore or aft, that had possible viewing spots were filled with tables for other diners. Other boats we noticed seemed to have a top deck which was open to all. This would be a far better choice. I did book at the last minute, which probably accounts for such a bad location, but none of the tables on the lower level would have been much better. I also went back and checked to see if they offered differently priced tickets, but they did not. I'm sure my experience would have been quite different if we had been seated on the main deck, but since there seems to be no way of knowing where you will be seated, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

I loved the food and live music

Awesome temple’s and bridges. Food was delicious. Service was excellent. I’m definitely going again next year

There are better options if you book ahead

It’s clearly the worst of the cruise options from this dock. There are maybe 20 options. We booked last minute so it was the only one left available. There was a small cockroach on our table too, for example.

An evening vibing in the rhythm of Bangkok city

Entertainment, spectacular view, food and service are the best we could be offered on board of such a beautifully decorated cruise! Loved the management and the overall experience was of top notch!

staff at jetty unfriendly. as a family we have elderly on wheelchair approach the staff at boat jetty for help they could only answer dont know in the end my mil didnt board the crusie very disspointed

Disappointed.

The foods was not good and there’s not much option. I think I paid for a good seating arrangemen but they put us in the extension of the boat (first floor). It’s disappointed. I won’t recommend this to my friends and family. I rather choose other company.

Good value for money

I was happy with the dinner trip itself. The atmosphere on the ship was good, the food and the selection were okay. Unfortunately, the loudspeaker in the back of the boat was far too loud, so we could hardly have a conversation at the table. Overall, I can definitely recommend the dinner trip.

Bangkok river by night

A great evening going down the river. The staff were helpful and friendly throughout the tour. There was a wide selection of food and drinks available and great entertainment on board also. When booking I was not given the option to sit up on the top deck which I would have preferred, the tables just seemed to be allocated already.

Awful service, bad seating, terrible view

We were shoved into a corner table against the captains steer room with no view of the activities and next to a staircase that over a dozen people at a time came over to, stood at to see the river, took pictures, pushed into our sides while we tried to eat dinner and had no view of the river or show. It was awful. The staff laughed when I asked for help.

Great Views and Entertainment on board

The views and on board entertainment were Great, But the foods was just so so and barely enough for everyone. There won't be any refill whenever the foods tray were empty. Some of the foods were a lil bit salty, didn't like the way they served the mussels

We have been satisfied with the tour

I was very satisfied with the dinner trip. The trip itself was very nice, the views of various sights were great and the staff on the ship was very friendly. I only have to deduct a point for the food, even though it really wasn't bad.

Attended the tour on 18th December. Writing this review on way back to hotel

We did not receive the welcome drink and drinking water (bottled) as advertised. Initially I was told that I would have to pay for soft drinks however luckily I had brought the print out of my ticket which showed ‘free flow soft drinks are included’. I wasted 15 minutes of my time trying to get two free Coca Colas - those were the only ‘free flowing’ drinks we got for free. We were placed on a table which was removed from the entertainment, when asked to move they were initially unaccommodating however, we eventually moved table. I would not recommend. The Chao Phraya Princess VI cruise tour looks much better and wished we had booked with them instead

Very forgettable.

The 2 girl singers were terrible and should never be used again. They spoiled the whole evening. The food was very good and the service excellent.

FOOD OK, BUT CRUISE NOT RECOMMENDED

Not necessarily a bad experience, but not one we would repeat. Boarding was disorganized. Buffet was just OK, nothing extraordinary. The scenic river cruise part was a disappointment as we were seated inside with a restricted view to the outside, and there was no guide or narration as to what we were looking at. Lights were pretty at night, from what we could see. The musician/ singers were OK and made an effort to entertain, but the Thai dancers mainly just bounced up and down - like a bad middle school dance recital.

It's OK

Food was very ordinary. We were at the second floor open air area of the ship, it was ok. There were some sights with nice lights, the rest were not really that illuminated. Ok to experience once, not a second time.

Unfortunately I couldn't have my dinner due to the poor organization that you have, we arrived at the shopping center there was no one to tell me where to take the boat after several minutes we arrived at the place, and there was none of you to tell me where to go organization zero. I had to pay for another boat to be able to have dinner, unfortunately I lost my money with you

A lot of place for improvements

We recently took part in the dinner cruise, drawn by its intriguing concept. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to our expectations. The idea itself is cool, but the execution fell short in several areas. Firstly, the food provided did not seem worth the price. It was average at best and, disappointingly, served cold. This significantly detracted from the dining experience. Additionally, the dishes were not labeled for allergens, a critical oversight for those with dietary restrictions. The only soft drink available was cold water, and it was disappointing to find that no other beverages were included in the price. This seemed like a missed opportunity to enhance the dining experience. Moreover, the music volume was surprisingly high for a dinner cruise. It was more distracting than atmospheric, making it difficult to enjoy a conversation or the meal itself. A more subdued, ambient music selection would have been greatly appreciated. On a positive note, the actual boat ride was pleasant. However, it's worth mentioning that the cruise started later than scheduled — around 8:00 PM instead of the 7:30 PM indicated on our ticket. This delay resulted in a considerable amount of waiting, which was a bit frustrating. In conclusion, while the cruise had its enjoyable moments, several aspects need improvement. It's a great concept but requires better execution to truly offer a memorable experience.

AMAZING!

This was amazing! We got to see some main attractions from the river and all lit up at night. The food was lovely and a great atmosphere, would recommend to anyone going Bangkok

Relaxing night cruise with dinner.

Seeing Bangkok at night time relaxing on the boat. It always little confusing to find right plaçe to check in fur this dinner cruise. Food at this buffet was not outstanding. It was ateable only Thai food was available, not international as advertised. Still it was enjoyable. Crew was suberb. They were tops. The boat was only 1/3 full.We saw many Bangkok sights along the river. Overall an enjoyable tour with a good price.

Cruise was excellent..food was plentiful and delicious. On board entertainment was just great. Friendly and happy group. Fireworks at the end were spectacular. Very memorable night for us. Would highly recommend to anyone

Its surreal, fun to see...

Its surreal, fun to see the city skyline, the most iconic monuments, old and modern alike; all lit up making for some amazing photo op, food wasn't too bad either, good variety and options for vegetarians as well, so that's a plus.

We were sitting on the last table close to the loud speakers and they were too loud, so we could not even here eachother talking. Buffet, service etc. were great.

Checkib girl was horrible

Checkin girl - terrible boarding - weird and unorganized Food - basic Entertainment was good thats the only reason why im giving it some stars. Save yourself the time and invest on the more expensive ones instead!

Too loud and below average food

Food was greasy and bad. I wish I hadn't eaten of the food. They did try to make it look good but definitely wasn't a good quality buffet. The music was too loud. I wish it was more quieter with relaxing music

Excellent service, scenery, food and atmosphere.

I enjoyed a beautiful dinner cruise along the river. There was excellent scenery to view and I felt extremely safe viewing it at night. The atmosphere the workers the food and the entertainment were all excellent. I will book this cruise again when I bring my family.

Went for the Views, stayed for the food

The food was awesome and the entertainment was amazing. We couldn't see the sights as our table was next to the boat's wall. And since the other tables were set close, there was no way to take pictures or enjoy any views and that really sucked. That is my only complaint.

Not at all what i expected

First we where sited near the toilets and the smell was bad. In general the place was not clean. The staff did not speak any english so it got harder...the food was cold and bad. The live singer had a real bad voice day and there was an othere singer on the top floor that try to over lap her singing...it was very bad waited to get off.

Memorable experience with nice views

The singing duo rocks the stage and engaging well with the audiences. Music is good, ambience is awesome although the food is usual buffet. The waiting at the pier needs to be properly managed as no sign point indicating where to wait or onboard the cruise, quite messy and chaos especially when it rains.

The massacre of the buffee

No planing too Many people waiting on the same time at the same place for different ship. The food cheap and not very good. All people run at the same time to the buffee without planing

Great evening cruise. Convenient to leave from ICONSIAM. Food and entertainment excellent. It was relaxing seeing the sight lit up at night.

Romantic dinner on meradian cruise

A pleasant experience and pleasant amusement. The river views were excellent and the dinner buffet was great. The band and cultural shows were amazing.

The seating arrangement...

The seating arrangement was very bad ,I went with my husband and we had no choice regarding the table and they put us next yo the buffet in the middle , it was very annoying , we couldn't enjoy the view ! There was no point to take the trip I could go eat in any restaurant

It was magical!

Such a tempting night time experience to explore from the water bodies of bangkok! Though finding the pier through the market was a bit confusing for tourists like us. For this certain reason you should have enough extra time before boarding the ship. But except this thing, everything else was wholesome!

Meridian Dinner Cruise, 2 hours of spectacular dining, sightseeing & live singing & dancing along the Chao Phraya River

After the world has re-opened from Covid-19 lockdowns, me and my family were able to visit again one of our favourite cities in the world - Bangkok. Since I’ve tried once experiencing a Dnner Cruise along the Chao Phraya river together with my Grandma around 2014 before her 80th Bday, the good memories of that trip was etched in my hearts and minds. So being said that, I told myself to bring my parents, sister and nephew this time. And off we did, we booked another company from my last trip 8 years back and was looking for a very affordable price for the same experience and we found Meridian Dinner Cruise. I loved its White, Elegant, Slender, Luxurious and very Modern Cruise ship from the photos and the timing seems perfect for us as well. We booked the ticket via Agoda for about 30 SGD++ for adults and 20++ SGD for my nephew at 19:30 in front of Icon Siam pier which will run for 2 hours of unlimited buffet food and drinks, live entertainment and picturesque sceneries and historic buildings of Thailand along the Chao Phraya river which include the Grand Palace, Wat Arun and the newest landmark of the river and the country’s biggest mall - Icon Siam. We arrived quite early 30 mins before our departure thinking we are already late because we have to walk from behind Icon Siam to the river. It was a very busy, vivid and packed night outside Icon Siam with a colorul and whimsical fountain show, outdoor activities especially for kids, dazzling lights and displays and tons of people either watching the fountain show, just walking around and those who are waiting for their cruise ships. We exchanged our online vouchers for the tickets stipulated on the instructions at the Icon Siam Pier2 Meridian Cruis Counter. After witnessing 3 to 4 cruise ships boarding and departing before us and in fact it seems ours is the last to arrive. Yes we departed 30 mins behind and really hungry with a toddler in tow who is very sleepy already. Note to Meridian to please be on time especially when we try yours again next time. Despite the late departure we were really, really excited to board. We took our lovely shots and videos as we go along and enter the ship. After you exchange your voucher, you will be assigned a seat so you will have to find if not ask the crew to assist you. Boarding wss fast, smooth and easy. We were assigned a seat on the upper deck area where the show is happening beside the railing which is one of the best seat out there for a group of 5 people. Thanks for this Meridian for giving us the best sit outdoors and beside the railing where you would have an impeccable view of the river and its surroundings at the same time also the interior of the ship. The inside is very organized, clean, spacious, beautiful and very colorful. There is upper deck outdoor seating and lower deck indoor seating which is airconditioned. It wasn’t hot and humid that night instead its very refreshing with a breathe of the river’s fresh air so outdoor for us is perfect. But some people loved to sit indoors with controlled ventilation or if the ship is fully booked you don’t have a choice. That night seemed not fully booked so we didn’t see the lower deck fully occupied. One thing that took my attention and stood out is their very elegant and posh dining table and chairs. Our table is wrapped in clean White table clothe with Grey placemates and a charming romantic candle lamps and a flower vase. We were seated on a Golden brown classy cushioned chairs - truly a 5 star fine dining experience indeed!!! To top it all off - our tableware was wrapped in plastic which is very hygienic and they already served us cold water and fresh tamarind juice if I’m not mistaken truly refreshing!!! We felt like a VIP, relaxed, comfortable and special for a very affordable price nothing could get better than this. At the center of it all is the long and wide Buffet table serving 16 different types of main dishes on a neatly placed Silver service 8 on each row. We were so hungry that night that right after we were ushered to our seats we went to the Buffet table right away which is already open and ready to serve. I couldn’t remember the exact dishes served during our time but I could remember there’s tons of variety on it which include Western food like Italian/French, Asian like Japanese/Chinese and of course Thai. What I could remember are the ones we took like Spaghetti with Tomato sauce, Beef Bourguignon, Grilled Shrimp and Mussels, Sashimi, Sushi, Pad Thai, Fried Rice, Teriyaki chicken, Sauteed Vegetables and Potato Salad. The mains also serve Vegetarian options for veg customers. There are also separate smaller table for Desert, Fruits, Roast Pork/Beef, Soup, Sushi/Sashimi and Appetizers like Salad. We also took a bunch of fresh fruits and deserts like Brownies, Cream Puffs and small cake slices. The food is quite tasty, delicious and satisfying. I especially loved the Beef Bourguignon which is so tender, juicy and very yummy - not all buffet served French food and this is quite pricey on a typical French restau so I took it right away. The Grilled Shrimp is fresh, juice, tender and fatty which really fills your stomach. So those 2 are my top favourite. Sushi is also fresh and tasty and the Sashimi is very fresh and tender. The fruits are perfectly riped and served fresh. And finally the Desert were just the right amount of size, tasty, fluffy, creamy and light - just the right amount of sweetness in it which is perfect to cap off your amazing and satisfying dinner. We decided not to buy alcoholic drinks since we are satisfied with what we have which is included in our ticket. It’s a self-service buffet dinner but the staff are plentiful and ready to assist you at any time. They also roam around the dining area ready to clean your used tableware and leftovers. They also check for water and fruit juice refilling all the time which we really admire. Whilst your having dinner, the band consist of Filipino talents will play non-stop for 2 hours both with their carefully curated songs from different countries and your requests. Me and my father requested 2 songs - I had the Olivia Newton John classic ‘Let Me Be There’ and my Pa a Visayan Filipino song - ‘Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko’, which means Sing it and I will Dance. Truly wonderful, incredible and talented Filipino band in here - Duo Music headed by the Lead Guy Singer and main Lady vocalist who are both very talented and fantastic. To request a song you can leave a note in a white paper and give it to them in front of the stage. I was truly delighted and surprisd that they both catered to our requests specally for a classic Olivia and a Tagalog song which much to our amazement they played last, the finale song before we took off the boat. My father was really happy and thrilled to experience this first hand much more it was also his pre-Bday treat from us!!! Kudos to this Meridian and keep playing the best band out there!!! :=) There is also a traditional Thai dance with lovely Thai dancers in their traditional bejewelled colorful Thai clothes called Suea Pai adorned with large bling Fans gracefully and classically dancing in the middle of the dining area - not sure if its Thai or Chinese in my opinion but it was a beautiful dance performance truly adorable. Whilst having dinner, watching the band and dance, and there’s even a group of Ladies from Indonesia who were celebrating a Bday dinner dancing on the floor, having small talks, enjoying ourselves, taking time to eat and taking those lovely and special photos and videos we were also greeted and embraced by the magnificent Temples, Palaces, Icons, Buildings and Bridges that span the Mighty and Grand Chao Phraya River. Perhaps for me this is my favourite river in the world, one of the biggest, widest, and mightiest yet it exhudes this charm and beauty whenever I see it. We get to see the lit temples, palaces, buildings, bridges and monuments along the way in those bright Orange/Yellow colours. There was the iconic Wat Arun or the Temple of Dawn, the elegant Grand Palace, the iconic Icon SIam - Bangkok’s talk of the town and the enigmatic Rama VIII bridge which we crossed under on our way back to the pier. The night was cool, calm, breezy and bright and the waves were just perfect not too big and we didn’t feel dizzy at all whilst riding the boat. The ride will make a u-turn from Rama VIII bridge so you would have both views of each side of the river. I was seated on the Icon Siam side when we made our way and the opposite side when we came back. As we made our way back to Pier 2 of Icon Siam the clouds have started to condense bringing some drizzles and light rain but it was the perfect way to cap our amazing, magical, romantic and memorable dinner cruise as a family and finally I got to bring my Parents to witness and experience this one of a kind cruise ship experience on a mighty and beautiful river that is called Chao Phraya. And what’s more my nephew enjoyed his time as well even though its already his sleeping time :=) Kudos to our wonderful and special trip Meridian we will surely be back again given time permits and perhaps celebrate another special occasion when we return. Great way to see the city lights

Once we got on the boat, it was an enjoyable experience, however the check-in process was very disorganized and confusing. The food was really good, as well as the entertainment. My only big complaint was a group of girls from a different area that decided that our (my mom and my) table was a perfect spot for a photoshoot the last 30 minutes of the boat ride - which is absolutely no fault to the boat crew or any other staff.
