I certainly won't forget my all too brief hours cycling through the authentic, colourful, backstreets of Bangkok. Our 2 superb, extremely knowledgeable, guides made this unique adventure come alive! It'll be a real shame not to live this experience yourself. The next time you're in the city, go!!!!! Perhaps, sadly, in the not too distant future, these harsh to delightful vignettes of tight community living, will be swallowed up by many a city's urgent quest for socio-economic development/modernisation. Don't take my word for it, go savour this actual gem for yourself!

Amazing! My favorite tour in Bangkok! If there’s anything you MUST do is this tour. We got to see parts of town we wouldn’t see otherwise. Knowledgeable well speaking team of two (one to lead and the other takes photos and is there in case anyone needs extra help) both are incredibly helpful and have carefully crafted an unforgettable bike route. Pace is just right easy to keep up. Don’t miss it!

Far from pleasant

The route selected fell short of ideal. While I value experiencing the authentic way of life and culture, paddling for three hours through filthy streets proved to be far from enjoyable.

Best real thai life experience!

We rode around Thon Bury area all the pathways and back streets! It was a truly authentic thai real life experience. So happy and grateful that we chose it, so different then all other tours we found online. Highly recommended!!!🤩🤩

Good but room for improvements

I have very mixed reviews about this bike tour. I absolutely loved riding through the back streets / suburbs of Bangkok. Seeing how and where the locals lived, seeing both the concrete jungle streets and also what felt like lush green jungle streets!! Surprisingly to me, there really are some lovely picturesque bridges, alleyways, canals and streets!! And seeing some of the stunning temples and the large gold Buddha was fantastic!! However - Whenever the guide stopped to explain about an artefact or something, as she was at the front of the group she would just stop, get off her bike and start talking, not waiting for the whole group to join. Although what she did say about temples / particular streets etc was very interesting so it was a shame some people missed the beginning sometimes. She would also give her ‘schpeal’ as if she was telling us she’s putting the bins out. Granted - when you probably say the same things every day it’s hard to show much enthusiasm. Even though we went through some lovely places, the guide was going at such a speed you weren’t able to stop to take any pictures, only when the whole group stopped. It was as if this route was your daily commute so you didn’t need to see the surroundings as you’ve seen it all before multiple times!! If you did stop for any reason or blinked and missed where the group had gone down a side alley, they don’t wait for you and you have to find your own way to catch up with them. Thankfully when this happened to me a local pointed out where the group had gone. When I’ve done this sort of tour before there has always been a support rider who stays at the back of the group. This was not always that case for this tour. They also seem to think people taking the tour are locals who know their way around and how to navigate through the tiny alleyways and along the busy highways. Maybe the safety aspect was a concern to me as I’m from the UK, but they thought nothing of taking the whole group across what felt like the Hanger Lane Gyratory (an exceptionally busy roundabout with A Roads in west London). The main guide stopped the group in the way of a line of oncoming traffic, then we had to cross before the next lane of traffic started!! Not only did they not seem to think about our safety - it seemed to be funny to them, saying: ‘quickly cross ha ha ha’ …. 😑. But then seeing the train coming into the station with no level crossing to close the road, I guess that’s just the way Bangkok rolls with H&S 😂!! There are also a couple of bridges to cross that have steep stone steps - you have to carry your bike up. No help, support or guidance is given. Just FYI if you’re not overly strong. Bikes were comfortable with good breaks. You also get a bottle of water at the start and there is a stop halfway through in a little street where you can buy cold drinks. A lovely touch at the end was that they airdrop all the pictures the support rider has taken of the group on the way round. Although I wish I’d known he was doing this as I would have smiled / waved at the camera when I saw him a few times!! Overall I did enjoy the tour - getting away from the hustle and bustle of say, China Town, and seeing another side and the real daily life of Bangkok. I’m pleased i did it.

Incredible cycle tour of Bangkok, don't miss it

This was one of the high spots of our visit to Bangkok, it gave us a chance to see a part of the city which you couldn't do any other way and it was the real Bangkok built around the waterways. The guides were excellent, very informative, good pace for the whole group with plenty of stops to take it all in. It's a must and top of your list if visiting Bangkok

Bike tour

Really good we felt really looked after on the roads. The staff were great. Went to places you would never find on your own. Definitely do this. Plenty of good information given along the way.

Don't Miss out on the Back Streets of Bangkok!

Loved our bike tour! During our trip to Thailand, we wanted to do something a little off the beaten path and found this bike tour. We loved our afternoon of seeing parts of Bangkok that we would have never seen otherwise and it was one of our favorite parts of the trip. The length was great and we even got to visit a market that most people don't know about. It was great to learn more about the communities, visit the small canals, and make friends with the locals. Highly recommend the tour!

I would rate this...

I would rate this experience as average. While the guides were nice and friendly, there were some discrepancies. The leading guide mentioned that the biking tour would proceed slowly to enjoy the views, but, in reality, he rode the bike quite fast, and at stopping points, he began explaining things without waiting for everyone to gather around. The most concerning aspect was the last part of the tour, where we had to ride a very narrow road full of rocks beside the railway. This felt dangerous, and any misstep could result in injury. My friends and I found this part stressful. On a positive note, the girl guide was patient and waited for bikers who fell behind.

The bike tour was fun. If you want to support a small local entrepreneur, this is a good one. The bikes were of good quality but the group was a bit to big, luckily they decided to split us after starting. Note: this tour stays is thon buri, it does not go through more parts of the city!

A must do when you are in Bangkok!

Definitely a must to do when you are in Bangkok!! This tour will let you see all the beautiful spots outside of the city center and let you feel you experienced the locals! The tour guide is really good in explaining and a nice person who has a heart for his company! Gitta was also a really friendly lady who helped the group to stay together and makes nice pictures for you! If we didn’t book this tour we would’ve not enjoyed Bangkok so much! Thank you so much!

Biking the backstreets

We loved how authentic and laid back it was. Bit hair raising crossing the roads but mastered it well. We went mainly around to local areas allowing us to truly see how the locals live. They were all so friendly. We got to see a few temples and were given alot of information on Buddhism. Very enlightening. 3hrs is a long time but we covered alot of ground and ended it at the market for some refreshing fruits and drinks. The bikes were good sturdy bikes. Pays to have a good fitness level and balance. Our host was very humble.

Such an amazing experience!! The guides were fantastic. I was late getting to the meeting point due to traffic and a guide waited for me to arrive and took me to meet up with the group! Wonderful people and experience. If you want to see the real Bangkok this is the way to do it ❤️

Awesome Ride/Experience

Guita and Tommy did a great job of taking us thru places 99% of the tourists would never see. Great insight in to the local culture and diverse neighborhoods.

Enjoyable and fun cycle tour.

We very much enjoyed the tour. It was such fun and interesting to see Bangkok life on the backstreets, cycling around areas that we would not have seen on our own. The guides were friendly, helpful and informative. Confidence in the use of a bike is a must but the mileage is relatively low so biking fitness isn’t essential.

Guides have great local knowledge and are very patient with inexperienced riders.

Tour guides are great! Very patient, with less experienced bike riders. 3-hours was the perfect tour length for our group. Highly recommended. The guides' local knowledge is great and they clearly have a very good relationship with the local people in the neighborhood, making it a very relaxed, comfortable, friendly experience. Not once did I feel we were intruding or interrupting the daily lives of the locals, who were very friendly and welcoming.

An adventure you won't forget

It's a 3 hour fast-paced bike tour and an adventure you won't forget. The experience lets your explore more of Bangkok by seeing how is the day-to-day life of the neighborhood people. The people along the way are warm and considerate & appreciate how everyone smiles and greets us along the way especially the old people. One must be able to bike off-streets with narrow roads for this tour and I suggest to do biking before the tour as it is quite fast paced. The only cons? Hoped that we could have a little more time to spend in the stops in between the tour as we would like take photos or offer also in the temples. I also hoped for the tour guide to be more "in tuned" to all the participants & able to perceive any assistance needed as not all participants have the same fitness level. Nevertheless, the other guide is more accomodating so I think the 2 tour guides still compliments each other, one that leads and the other that supports. Safety gears could have been also implemented in a more stricter way for safety purposes. Overall, it was a meaningful, unforgettable experiece.

Operator keeps the money for a service that he does not provide (the worst experience with a tour)

Book this tour on Saturday around 10 pm for Sunday at 9 am, unfortunately I couldn't attend because I had a force majeure problem with the vehicle that was going to pick me up, it was late and couldn't arrive at 9 am, since it would take me about 22 minutes from my hotel to the place. I contacted the tour operator to see if I could reschedule for the next weekend, but that option didn't suit him as he would stop making money by doing so, and he told me to buy the tour again or if there was a spot available could do. With his response he never thought about the client and only about his personal benefit, I tried to see if there was a space the following weekend, but all the places had been reserved, so I requested a refund since I considered it unfair that he kept my . money for an activity that I had not done, and that he also did not incur any loss (it was not a cooking class where he buy ingredients, and that implies a cost, this tour only gives you a bicycle, which is already a fixed asset), I could very well have considered that I never did the activity or never scheduled it, considering that I did it late at night, and the probability that someone would have enlarged at that time was low, and yet, despite having requested a refund through Tripadvisor, they did not want to refund my money, leaving them with around 765 Bath (20.13 Euros). I recommend before booking that you read the conditions carefully, try not to schedule if the meeting point is far away, and if the operator is unethical and keeps a client's money for a service that they do not provide, and if it happens to you a force majeure problem and does not give you an option to schedule, only thinking about his personal benefit of not losing money, I would not schedule with an operator like that, due to the quality of person he is. This was the worst experience I had in Bangkok with a tour and it has been the worst experience I have had with a tour in my twelve years of traveling. I didn't book through Tripadvisor again because they didn't do much as an intermediary either.

It's a really good value trip. We went to many wats (temples) and many local places that you would not normally find (unless you are Thai living there).

Very nice tour with a new touroperator

A very nice tour with a tour guide, that start for himself. He shows us very nice streets and gems, and tell us story's about the things he showed us. Only point or critics are, that he speaks really fast, and is is hard to understand everything he said. But the tour was really great to do, for a friendly price.

Cand bike tour is simply the best thing we have done. Taking you round the real Bangkok- you get a flavour of how people live and it is amazing to see family live and businesses doing their daily Thing as you cycle by.

Delightfully entertaining and informative

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about countless aspects of Thai culture including everyday life, religion, local plants, the economy, history and education. By asking him questions, we learned more in these three hours than we had throughout the previous several days. In addition, we really appreciated his relaxed attitude and good sense of humor. Throughout the tour, we saw a healthy mixture of mundane scenes (e.g. people's houses and gardens, a market) and more conventional sights (e.g. the Big Buddha). The local community was very welcoming of our little group of bikers. We were likewise very happy with the logistics of the tour, notably maintenance of the bikes and how the itinerary was communicated.

A must do in Bangkok

This tour was amazing and an unique experience! You see things you usually wouldn't see in Bangkok. Cycling down little streets, friendly locals around, you see lots of temple too, the coconut snack was delicious. Couldn't ask for more. Altough, for me, the Tour could've lasted longer. Do it! That's a top recommendation! Plus: as a solotraveller you get to know new people. That's always nice.

Just wow and so cool. Lots of positive surprises. Very friendly locals who are living there. They are used to see the foreigner on bicycle and waving us happily. I recommend to everone who can ride a bicycle.

Amazing insight and adventure

Fantastic afternoon tour. Amazing to explore the hidden aspects of Thai life. Temples, klongs and tropical areas. Great guide and equipment. Not strenuous but a little tricky terrain. Surprisingly cool despite the heat.

Lovely cycling tour

I've been to Bangkok several times, but it's my first time cycling in the city. We've seen the floating houses on the river, some old houses, the tour guide told us about the Chinese immigration history and where they were living in the past. Cycling to the temples and introduced the Buddhism culture and some of his personal experience. Really appropriate on the coconut snack tasting on the street, I never try that before. People are so friendly in the neighborhood, we had a happy sweaty morning.

Honestly the best thing I did in Bangkok. Intersting, off the main tourist route, the guide is a good guy, just a lot of fun.

Very easy communication to book the tour, very friendly owner/guide. Quality bikes in different sizes. Takes you to places you wouldn’t go on your own. Friendly locals on the way, waving and smiling all the time. Very fun way to discover the city and have an idea of many different areas and lifestyles.

Fantastic back streets bike ride

Fantastic way to see the backstreets and “real” lifestyle of people in Bangkok. Great knowledgeable guide (he owned the business) - just the right amount of information. Bikes comfortable in good condition, ride was flat and easy. Small group was good. Lots of friendly locals along the way. Never realised how many laneways there are!

Locally owned, fantastic experience

This was an amazing experience. Local guide and locally owned business, unlike most others in the area that are outsourced companies. The bikes are well maintained and adjusted to your height. We road down side streets, alleys and back roads that you wouldn’t see without this adventure. We stopped at temples, in local areas and were taught some culture, religion and history. Our guide Tommy was informative, passionate and very friendly. He was great ay keeping the group together. A breezy 3 hours ride, good for all skill levels, some mild physical effort required. Overall a great way to start your day/afternoon. Highly recommend
