Bangkok City Culture Tour by Bike

Cycle the town. You'd love the experience!

I think it's the best way to explore Bangkok (half day ride only) from a local's perspective and on a bicycle. We rode through the morning rush hour with street vendors selling breakfast along the pedestrian walkway, visit a local buddhist temple, in between squatter homes and villages. Unconventional local spots and parks where tourists would not know where to go. Drinks and lunch is included in the package and we rode at our own pace. Recommended 100%.

Fun day out.

I was staying in Silom near Chong Nonsi BTS. I booked the Bangkok City Culture tour with Thailand biking after seeing a video of them on the Global Travel Mate u tube channel. It included riding along the elevated bikeway between Benchakitti Forest Park and Lumphini Park. Which I wanted to see. There were 4 of us and a guide on this tour. After being kitted out with helmets and bikes we set off. I wasn't comfortable with the upright style of bike on offer. So asked and was given a mountain bike (a Merida). One that I was more familiar with. The bikes were all of excellent quality. The tour had a bit of everything. We cycled through Bangkok traffic which I found daunting at first but as we progressed got used to it. Traffic in the city is mainly gridlocked & slow moving which helped. We stopped off at a local temple and had a rest break at Talad Khlong Toei market. Highlight of the trip for me was Cycling through Benchakitti park (gorgeously green) with fabulous bike tracks and then taking the elevated section to Lumphinee. That was fun and traffic free. At various points along the way we got the chance to stop and take pictures. After that it was back through the traffic to the office. The guide we had was very entertaining and knowledgeable. Whenever we stopped he would tell us a brief history of the area while pointing out local landmarks. One small criticism. While we were biking through traffic the guide and the first rider got away from us (the last three riders) several times. The distance was about 30 to 40 metres. Eventually noticing that we weren't there they stopped and waited. A small thing but worth mentioning. It was well run and organised. I enjoyed it, had a lot of fun, and plan to come back. Oops, nearly forgot. The staff showed us where to catch The BRT bus from WAT DAN station (just up the street) all the way back to Silom Where you can access the Chong Nonsi BTS. Worth remembering.

Bangkok bike tour

We had a great time on the Bangkok full day bike tour. We didn’t realise we were going to see so much. Our guide Bas was friendly, knowledgable and great to be around. Great service and such a fun day. Thank you!

Bike Tour Rocks!!

Am, our guide, was extraordinary. Knew the city like the back of his hand, guided us safely, provided history and little known facts, showed us gems within the city. Super cool way to explore Bangkok. Traveled through neighborhoods and experienced street art, food, shops, cafes, people, parks and history. The best Bangkok experience of all which is saying a lot!

Different view of the City

The Tour was fantastic ... but also a little exhausting in the heat ;) So bring a lot of sunscreen an a cap! Our Guide Oh was great, told us a lot about the culture and had always a joke on her lips. But dont forget that you are cycling in Bangkok with all the "traffic", so be prepared!!

Amazing experience!

Biking through Bangkok is an adventure you don't wanne miss. Through alleys, over the main road during rushhour, almost through people's living rooms, over markets, old trainstation trails. Parks. With nice area views over the old and new city. If you love biking, you love this.

The other side of Bangkok

This tour gives you a very good view of the other side of Bangkok! Frienly guide, with good explanations. The organisation use good bikes.

See more Bangkok

This was so much fun. We were lucky to be the only people booked in so it felt like a personalised tour. Also it wasn't your usual Thai tour, An our tour guide made it very relaxed and didn't rush us in any way. She made me feel quite confident navigating the busy roads. Please wear the helmets the slums have quite dangerous roofing jutting out into the ally. Also, pick the morning tour where it's a little cooler. Great day, well recommended!!!!

Don't think twice, just do it!

We had booked this bike tour as part of an overall Thailand tour and boy were we happy to have done this! The tour takes you to rich and really poor neighbourhoods and shows sides of Bangkok you will not easily see. Actually far away from the tourist sights this tour shows what real life in Bangkok is all about. And we were so lucky with our guide Anne! She is such a nice radiant young woman with a smile to fall in love with you. She is quick and smart with great English and she knows her stuff. When in Bangkok just do it and don't hesitate and if you can get Anne to guide you your are twice lucky!

Nice trip through the ancient city

Nice trip with our group through the ancient city with young guides. We saw the poor part of the city with small houses and big marketplaces. It was difficult to cross the three high bridges with my bike, but the guide helped me.

Worth it!

We had a great time with this tour! Our instructor was very friendly and kept us safe by taking us on routes to avoid the traffic. We got to see some beautiful scenery as well as some less-traveled parts of town that were rich in culture. We also got to stop at a market and temple. The pace was just right. Water bottles are supplied and there is a bathroom break halfway through. The only thing that could have been improved was more explanations about the different parts of town as we biked--I would just ask if you want this, I am sure they can accommodate.

The Other Side of the Bangkok - A Must See

Are you a little adventurous, reasonably fit, and interested in learning about Bangkok beyond the trotten tourist path, Starbucks, and the usual glitzy shopping malls? Learn about the community of migrant workers, local buddhist temples and customs, huge markets and parks? Then this is a must! Beware however that you have to be comfortable to handle a bike in occasionally more than New York crazy traffic and rough street terrain, but most of the time the tour goes through the Hinterland of (very) small alleys and parks. You will see and learn a lot that you would otherwise never experience! Anne was our very charming and knowledgeable guide today. Highly recommend!

Amazing

We did a city culture tour by bike on the 13th of january. It was a great experience, we saw al lot and our guide gave good informations and showed us great places in the city centre of Bangkok. We enjoyed every minute of it!

behind the curtain

A great idea and lovely way to see and learn more on Bangkok and look a bit behind the curtains and experience things away from regular tourist tracks. We went to slums, kindergarten, across the river on small boat into some beautiful green lung of B. Ron chased me through a park with lake along narrow trails along small waterways to some temple – I won the race. Make sure with booking to tell them if you want sightseeing or some physical exercise, they happily provide both. Was an amazing adventure, thanks a million Ron you did a good job.

Easy bike ride

Easy - relaxed and pleasant trip to unknown area's of Bangkok. Even for not trained cyclist it's easy to do. Although you have to push ( or carry ) your bike up some stairs a few times. But it's easy to do and I can gladly recommend this trip.

Varied tour through Bangkok with a very good guide

Nice varied tour, straight through Bangkok, cycling through the market, through Lumpini Park, a nice Thai lunch, on a smoothly cycling bike, and a very good guide. Highly recommended !

Falsche Tour

Wir haben eine Tour durch Bangkok gebucht jedoch wurden wir zu Beginn mit einen „Upgrade“ mit Mittagessen überrascht! Leider war die Tour dann durch den Dschungel. Mittagessen war sehr gut und der Guide sehr nett. Doch leider die falsche Tour … schade um das Geld.

Top tour! Zeer aan te raden. Ouwe! Leuke plekjes gezien. Lekker biertje achteraf, veel gezien, top tijd, erg gelachen.

Klart must see/ do

fantastisk oplevelse! Vi blevet taget rigtig godt imod af Andre, og blev introduceret til vores guide “P”. Han tog os igennem de culturelle steder i Bangkok i et godt tempo og gjorde sig sikker i at alle var med. Han var god til at holde pauser og fortælle samt svare på spørgsmål om hver destination. Vi fik rigtig meget ud af turen og var super hyggelig for en gruppe venner, men sagtens også noget man kan opleve alene! Vi tog den tidlige tur, som passede perfekt med varmen, og vi havde stadig massere energi til resten af dagen. Kan klart anbefales og totalt must see, da man cykler forbi nogle culturelle steder, man måske ikke lige var kommet alene.

Geweldige fietstocht, fantastisch geregeld allemaal!

Fantastische fietstocht door Bangkok gehad met André. Hij laat je precies de plekjes zien die je wil zien, we hebben dingen gezien die we anders nooit hadden kunnen zien. André heeft de tour fantastisch verzorgd. Raad ook iedereen aan om hier een fietstocht te doen, niet massaal & hele goede fietsen, ook niet onbelangrijk. 😁 Nogmaals onze dank!!

Echt Bangkok zien

De fietstocht met Up als gids laat je de achterkant van Bangkok zien. Misschien niet het eerste waar je aan denkt voor een toeristisch uitstapje maar je begrijpt de stad daarna vee beter. Super om te doen. Dank je Up voor de uitleg.

Wat een waardeloze fietstocht

We hebben 2x eerder een fietstocht gedaan met Co van Kessel. Die waren geweldig! Door Chinatown en buiten de stad. Wat was deze tocht van Bangkok Biking een afknapper als je die vergelijkt met Co van Kessel. We fietsten over de snelweg!!! en moesten met de fiets over 6 hoge bruggen klauteren. Gingen naar 2 parken waar helemaal niets te doen was. Lopend jawel, de fiets bleef buiten het park! Wat een aanfluiting.

Beautiful Bangkok

Leuk en tegelijker tijd spannend op de fiets door het drukke Bangkok. Goede gidsen. Er wordt veel verteld en laten leuke en interessante dingen zien. Helpen je. Als je in Bangkok bent ga zeker fietsen. Top

erg leuke fietstocht door Bangkok op goede fietsen

Het was erg de moeite waard en een hele belevenis op de fiets door Bangkok. De route was goed te doen niet door de topdrukte van de stad.

Mooie manier om de locale sfeer te proeven

In een dagdeel krijg je een variatie van het allerlaagste leven van de Thai te zien. Zeker aanrader.

Fietsen in het drukke Bankok?

Natuurlijk kun je als Hollander fietsen, maar in het razende verkeer van Bangkok is wel even iets anders. Niet zeuren gewoon gaan, er werden een aantal gebaren uitgelegd, de fietsen werden op maat gemaakt en in het rustige straatje even kijken hoe de versnelling werkte. Dat ging allemaal prima, we waren er klaar voor. Een gids voorop, eentje achteraan en een vliegende dame die de video beelden verzorgde. Het ging fantastisch, ook door het drukke verkeer, over stukjes treinrails, bijna door de achterkamer van een Thais huis, grind paadjes, zandpaadjes, asfalt en plassen water. Wat zijn wij Nederlanders toch een verwende aapjes, met onze prachtige fietspaden. Die prachtige fietspaden zijn ook wel een beetje saai, fietsen in Bangkok is dat zeker niet. Er werd regelmatig gestopt voor een bezienswaardigheid, een tempel, een leef gemeenschap, een uitzichtpunt, leguanen, enzovoort. Natuurlijk werd het vochtgehalte op pijl gehouden, we kregen een fles water mee en op de markt werd er fruit gekocht, dat in een park royaal werd uitgedeeld. Tijdens de stops werd er over de bezienswaardigheid verteld. De gidsen waren goed op de hoogte en hun Engels was prima. Nog een verschil met Nederland, in Thailand wordt een fietser gezien als een voetganger met wielen, je mag dus ook op de voetpaden fietsen. Als je dat in Nederland zou doen, heb je een boete aan je broek als het tegen zit. Een aanrader, fietsen in Bangkok.

Geweldig om op deze manier je door Bangkok te bewegen! Een vd hoogtepunten van onze reis!

Een zeer leuke tour, goede fietsen met diverse stops onderweg voor info over cultuur of om wat fruit te proeven wat op de markt is gekocht. Je door de wir war van het verkeer trotseren, maar alles gaat zo relaxt, daar kunnen wij Nederlanders nog een voorbeeld aan nemen!! En erg leuk dat dit gefilmd is! Een waardevolle herinnering en zou het zo weer doen!

Bangkok City Culture met Amm

Wij hebben een aantal dagen geleden deze tour gereden samen met Amm. Als eerste zie je het echte Bangkok hoe de mensen leven, eten, inkopen doen, en ontspannen. Amm onze tourguide had een groot oog voor veiligheid. Aan het eine een prachtig filmpje gekregen als aandenken. Het was een top dag bedankt :-)

Fiets tour door Bangkok meer dan de moeite waard

Het was meer dan top!!! Hoogtepunt van onze trip naar Bangkok Super leuke gidsen die ons onvermoeibaar door achterbuurten, bizarre markten, parken en grote straten loodsten!

Je komt op plekken die je zelfs met google maps nooit zelf vind. Echt een aanrader! TIP ga niet met de fiets aan de hand over de drukke groentemarkt.

Racen door Bangkok

wat een slechte ervaring, na een klein welkoms-intro met de mededeling dat we zulke lekkere stokbroodjes voor na konden bestellen (Hallo ik zit in Thailand, zit niet te wachten op een stokbroodje en dit heeft niks met de excursie van doen. Leek wel een extra verdienste voor het bedrijf) werden de fietsen uitgedeeld. Bij aanvang waren er al slechte fietsen die niet omgeruild werden. Onder begeleiding van 2 gidsen startte de tour. Na een klein stuk gefietst te hebben, onder het gedoe van de kapotte fietsen, bleek iemand uit onze groep niet mee te kunnen, deze werd door de vrouwelijke gids terug gebracht. Waarna deze mevrouw werd neergezet om op ons te wachten. Het kopje koffie dat haar werd aangeboden, diende wel betaald te worden! Schandalig! De tour ging deels door kleine straatjes, pleintjes e.d. maar ging meer dwars door het verkeer van de stad. Het had wellicht bij de aankondiging van deze tour al heel wat gescheeld als men duidelijk info had gegeven over de tour, het verloop, de obstakels die er genomen diende te worden in de tour, danwel of deze voor alle leeftijden en condities wel of niet geschikt zou zijn. (sjouwen brug op, brug af met je fiets, wellicht is niet ieders leeftijd of conditie hiervoor geschikt), Belachelijk was het tempo van de gids, het niet op lossen van de "kapotte" danwel in slechte staat zijnde fietsen. Wellicht had met de juiste info mensen kunnen besluiten niet deel te nemen. In deze tour troffen we een gids die er de vaart inzette, het videofilmpje is hier wel het bewijs van, iedereen fietste een stuk langzamer dan de race van de gids, er werd bijna geen informatie gedeeld over de stad, en er was amper tijd voor een foto! Bij terugkomst zijn er diverse klachten ingediend, waar geen gehoor aan werd gegeven. Echt heel erg slecht, onprofessioneel en zeker niet klantvriendelijk. Ik zou deze tour bij dit bedrijf dan ook echt niet aanraden!

Het echte Bangkok

Wat een super ervaring. Je rijdt door nauwe straatjes weg van het toeristische Bangkok. Je ziet hoe de Thai leven in Bangkok. Op een rustig tempo ga je langs markten en ruik je de geuren van de stad. Als je iets wilt zien van deze stad zonder opsmuk raad ik dit zeker aan!

Bagkok City Culture met Thatipoom

Als je al een beeld hebt van Bangkok, maar wil zien hoe het echte leven er is: doen! Ik zou de fietstour Bangkok City Culture zeker aanraden. Thatipoom wist ons heel veel te vertellen en deed dit met veel enthousiasme! Ook als we tussendoor vragen hadden was daar ruimte voor. Met dank aan Thatipoom hebben we weer een nieuw stuk Bangkok leren kennen, wat je anders als toerist niet snel ziet. En nog een leuke toevoeging is de GoPro-video die tijdens het fietsen voor je wordt gemaakt. Zo kan je altijd nog terugkijken ;).

Een unieke uitstap.

Een zeer sterke aanbeveling als men in Bangkok zit. De gids die wij meekregen beschikte over een hoge dosis enthousiasme en kennis. Weet goed overweg te kunnen met de mensen die hij op sleeptouw neemt. Hij zorgt ervoor dat de fietstocht veilig verloopt.

Spannend en heftig

De trip ging door steegjes en ook door het verkeer, gelukkig hadden wij een prima gids die ons fantastisch ondersteunde. het was voor onze leeftijd (76 jaar) best wel zwaar, vooral over de autowegen middels trappen, de fiets moest uiteraard ook mee. Maar in zijn totaliteit was het een mooie spannende tour.
