Excellent half day trip

Our tour guide Johnny was fenomenal! Such a well spoken, entertaining, funny guy with a excellent knowledge of Thai history and culture. Even though, Ayutthaya seems not that impressive (straight after visiting Angkor Wat) we had an amazing time on this trip!! Highly recommended!

Missed sunset in Ayutthaya

A disappointing tour for us. The guide Johnny was excellent, and the sights in Ayutthaya are to behold. Unfortunately, the tour was overbooked for the number of guides assigned, and the only assigned guide, Johnny, was split covering those of us in the minivan and also a larger group on a separate bus. There was a second assigned tour guide "intern" who was very nice, but unfortunately did not have the experience or knowledge as Johnny and, therefore, spoke very little. Additionally, the river boat we boarded near the end of the tour broke down and we spent most of our boat ride bobbing in the water waiting for a second boat to come rescue us. By the time the second boat arrived, and we were taken to the final temple, sunset had already passed and our time to explore the final temple was shortened significantly. We have experienced many tours and know unplanned events happen. Additionally, we didn't fault Johnny because he did the best he could given the situation. However, in this case, it was disappointing there was no acknowledgement or follow up by the tour company.

Temples, a Street Market, and Sunset on the River!

This was an enjoyable tour to the north of Jakarta. The temple tours were fascinating, and a visit to a local street market was fun where I had the best spring rolls ever! All of this was followed by a beautiful sunset boat ride on the river. We had a great guide named Oh. She is one of the reasons that the tour was so good.

Afternoon Ride to Ayutthaya

Nice trip to Ayuttayah - good option to do it in the afternoon as the Morning Trips start between 6-7:30 am. Our guide Jom (Johnny) was very funny, friendly and helpful. Also a bis thanks to our driver Charming.

Very uncomfortable riding

The tour guide was ok and the views were amazing. Unfortunately this travel agency has a poor organization and what’s worse, when the tour ended, they had a small van to return people to their dropping off points and there was not enough space for me. They didn’t have a seat, we were 4 in a 3 seating space at the back of the van. It was a very very bad 1.30 hs ride from the temples to BKK city. I recommend you find an agency that guarantees the seat you’ve paid for.

Fantastic experience capped off by sunset boat ride and very friendly host!

Overall, a fantastic experience. Host Johnny was superb in his communication and background/history of wider Bangkok as well as specific tour locations. Bus and facilities were clean and tidy, and water was provided. Three locations are fantastic, however boat ride and final temple definitely the highlight. Approx 1.5hr travel time to/from temples only main consideration, made a bit more pleasant by Johnny's history lessons and humour. Only other one was no food was provided, which was listed as an inclusion (water was) however each temple has food/drink stalls available. Temple facilities were clean and tidy and believe 5THB for toilet use. No wait time and our host paid for all entry. Smaller tour group was nice.

Good experience

Good trip but cold water would have been nice. Jonny was great and the driver was good as well. The temple at sunset was beautiful.

Good time management, needs improvements in information about the sites visited.

The tour was well thought of, however, not enough information about the sites was provided, just basics. The part on the bout - the guide was in one of two boats, providing some explanation just to a few people around him. It would be nice if the guides would have a microphone so everybody could hear the talk.

Cindy was awesome!! She is a very knowledgeable and intelligent woman who knows the history and culture of her country. She’s very kind and sincere. Very delightful to spend the day with.

Would highly recommend this trip to the old capital of Siam. Ayutthaya is well worth a visit, and Jonny was excellent as our tour guide

Good transport

Got off to a slow start - apparently someone on the tour went to the wrong location and we had to wait for them. Overall, this is a great transport service that takes you to the most notable and beautiful spots in Ayutthaya. Have your own Wikipedia ready as no one gives you any information about the sights! And eat before you go.

Wonderful afternoon in Ayutthaya

We had an incredible afternoon in Ayutthaya! Our guide, Susan, was amazing. She is passionate about her work and the history of the Thai people. We stopped at two temples (Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon and Wat Mahathat), and then we took a boat ride to a third and last temple, Wat Chaiwatthanaram. Each time, our guide spent 15 minutes providing meaningful explanations and then let us have 35 to 45 minutes alone to wander around and explore by ourselves. We found that the boat cruise is a truly awesome feature of this tour!! We highly recommend it, as the overall tour is well-organized, not too long, and yet full of great discoveries and surprises! Thanks again Susan!

Good Value for money

Tum Tum our guide made this trip. Hotel pick up was on time and efficient. The driver Mr Mango drove very calmly and got us to all the temples in a timely manner. Tum Tum handled all the ticket entries, gave us a brief history of each of the ancient temples also pointing out good photo spots before we were let loose. Lunch and morning snack included. But the temples stole the show, simply stunning nothing else to say. Pick up was at 6:30am and back in central Bangkok by 3pm. Good value for money.

Old Siam

Very nice excursion…. The sites were wonderful and we had plenty of time to visit each of the four sites…..The lunch at the end of the trip was excellent too.

Very meh guide

While the ruins were pretty cool the company didn't do anything but get us from one location to the next. Our guide provided no context, only the most minimal history or story, then sent us off to wander the ruins on our own. We had nothing to place the things we were looking at.

Great Tour Ayutthaya Temples

We had a great time learning about the history of the temples. The operator was great and helped us when we were stuck in traffic. He helped us make it to the first stop after we were an hour late for the tour. We were able to see everything. Thank you for a great experience.

Great Temple Tour and Visit

Very informative and interesting, even the teenagers were well engaged! The temples were gorgeous and everyone had a great time.

We had so much fun! Our guide Cindy and our driver T killed it. They were punctual and knowledgeable. They even took us to try some street food when we were getting hungry. We felt welcome, comfortable, and joyous.

Avoid this tour operator

The guide was absolutely unprepared and barely uttered a few words during the tour. No explanations and no dive into the historical and cultural background to tell the story behind each temple or site. Total waste of time and money. I asked the agency for a partial refund, but they refused, saying that the tour was carried out as usual. Avoid this agency if they think that sending an unprepared guide was "business as usual".

Ayutthaya private tour

Excellent tour, we loved our guide and her father who was her driver. Very informative about the old city. Stopped for street food at a Michelin star restaurant and treated to cane sugar soft tacos (can’t remember the name of them in Thai!) A long day but would definitely recommend this private tour!

Our tour and tour guide was fantastic! She arrived early to ensure that we were dressed appropriately for the temples. Not only did she provide interesting historical insights but she also immersed us in local traditions and culture, even stopping to get us local snacks! Would definitely recommend!

Good chance to learn about Thailand's history

We book through Sun Leisure world Corp Excellent tour . Excellent tour I would strongly recommend this tour . They followed up to confirm the tour day before . Our tour guide Lin was the best tour guide . Very knowledgeable and speaks very good English . She has so much patience. Great photographer .

Great Ancient Sites Tour

My decision to take this tour treated my disappointment after a day before I visited 4 places in Bangkok which in my opinion were far from my expectations.I decided to take this tour based on the reviews I read. There were a total of 9 persons on SIC Tour included myself, my wife and my daughter. Overall, we enjoyed the trip only a suggestion to tour guide as conducted a group of 9, she need to give an introduction and briefing prior the tour started. I understand that we cannot expect much on SIC tour like this, but the guide should try her best to manage the group of 9. However, the guide was friendly and helpful. I love the locations of the tour and I highly recommend this tour for those who love ancient site tours.

Ayutthaya Temples

Different from bright temples of Bangkok. These temples are unrestored, many of brick. Summer Palace is beautiful and well maintained as Royal family still visits. Guide was full of energy but occasionally hard to understand.

Just transport

Used this tour because of reviews. Thanya was our "guide" She unfortunately was a terrible disappointment. Go on your own, get a tuktuk driver. We expected to get some history of the city,and the sites. NOTHING! When we asked we got the same answer built in 1200. Nope at least they have some small signs giving brief information. Came back to research the rest. As if we did not pay enough (almost $100 usd for 2) the bus stopped at the end at a very overpriced jewelry shop. Really.

Worth visiting

Pick up on time. Very good day, saw plenty, knowledgeable guide. We got to see all the main sights and there was plenty of time to explore more and take photos. Lunch was nice and water was provided.

Ayutthaya Temple tour

This was one of the best temple tour in entire Thailand . the ambience were good the whether was good on that day every thing was perfect at that place and the food was just amazing o n that day, thank trip advisor .

DECEIVING AND FALSE ADVERTISING! STAY AWAY.

This tour is very deceiving. What's stated on the itinerary was not followed. It was extremely disappointing, and the other people on my tour were also upset. Here is the actual itinerary: 1. - Bang Pa In Palace - 60 minutes (This was the only accurate thing listed on their itinerary and we did spend 60 minutes here) 2. - Wat Yai Chaimonkol - 20 minutes We were given 20 minutes here, when it was advertised at 60 minutes. This is where things went downhill. We were then taken to the river near the parking lot and asked if we wanted to charter a long-tail boat to the ancient city that will cost "300 BH per person." This clearly was not what we signed up for, the group declined and we were taken back to the tour vans. 3. - Temple of Reclining Buddha - 5 minutes We were given 5 minutes here! Advertised as 60 minutes. After we were rushed back into the van, they took us on a detour and stopped at an elephant camp. Some of the other tourists took pictures and even rode the elephants, while half of us wasted a good 30 minutes here waiting for the others. If I wanted to see the elephants, I would've gone to an elephant sanctuary. 4. - Wat Phra Sri Sanphet - 15 minutes They gave us 15 minutes here, and this was advertised at 60 minutes! We felt so rushed and didn't even have the time to appreciate this monastery. 5. - Wat Mahathat - 20 minutes Here we had 20 minutes, and it was again advertised at 60 minutes. 6. We were then taken to a restaurant where the food was cold and unappetizing. I would never book again with Sun Leisure Tours. Please save yourself from disappointment and avoid this deceitful company.
