Excellent tour. Bali Trekking Tour were excellent throughout. Pickup was on time and driver was excellent. The hike itself is physically and mentally challenging - be prepared, I saw several people turn round. The guide was excellent, prioritised safety and set a steady pace. The views at the top are stunning - an amazing sunrise. Take warm clothes for the top.

Mt Agung Mission, what a BEAUTY!

Was a mission to get up top but was do worth the effort. The views were absolutely incredible, you feel on top of the world several hundred meters above the clouds. On top of that the guides were amazing and made the trek really fun, they supply you well with water, food, torches, hiking gloves and poles. If you are able to make the time to do this hike it is well worth it. No photos as I dont want to spoil the view you get.

I decided in morning to climb Mt. Agung and contacted agency which was very responsive and quick in organizing my tour the same evening. At the appointed time driver Agus picked me up who was incredibly friendly and nice - I learned more from him about Balinese lifestyle and culture in those couple of hours driving than from other guided tours in 12 days in Bali!! After 2 hours of driving came to the starting point - near Pasar Agung Temple (which is shorter trek then from Besakih Temple and leads to the rim of crater and not to the actually summit but still is very demanding and high) where the guide Mudi was waiting with necessary equipment (headlamp, trekking poles and gloves) as well as with box breakfast and a bottle of water. At 1.30 am we started hike - first 300 stairs to the Pasar Agung Temple and then as we passed the Temple and started ascending, the landscape transformed from jungle forests to rocky terrain, culminating in breathtaking panoramic views. On the way up we met Leni and another guide from agency with their clients and all together climbed to the crater. Watching the sunrise from the Mount Agung with hot coffee in my hands prepared by guides on the spot was an unforgettable moment! Started to descend at 7.00am and came down at 10.00am. I highly recommend high trekking boots for better foot and ankle protection on this steep-slippery-rocky-rough trail. All the guides were very helpful, motivating and careful - they are amazing. They do a hell of a job and I whish them peace, harmony and health as well as drivers who are crowding whole night while waiting for us to come down. Great guys :) Highly recommend it :)

Well organised hike

The trip up to mount agung is challenging, but it sure is worth the sweat. With Lennie as our guide, we always felt safe. She definitely knows her mountain, made sure we are okay theoughout the hike amd even carried some coffee and breakfast for us up the hill. Kadek our driver was super friendly, had a great humour and made sure we arrived safe back home, even though we were asleep most of the time in the car, it was a pleasure meeting him.

Want to do it again!

Tought climb up, really worth it! Juna was my guide. Super professional and all went super smoothly with his knowledge of the mountain. We stopped when we needed to stop and we paced rigth to get to the top with enough time to see the first light of day. Highly recommend doing this with Juna. Agus, the driver, was on time and very helpful. Hope you enjoy as much as i did.

Great Guys

Very professional and friendly attitude fome the guide and the driver. Magnificent overall experience, despite the brutal humidity during the initial part of the hike. Would definitely recommend the company if you want to go for an unusual adventure.

Highly recommended!

Definitely not for the faint hearted. You need to be somewhat physically fit in order to complete the climb. Our driver putu arrived on time. Great communication throughout. It was about a 2 hr drive to the temple route meeting point where we met with our guide, Lennie. Lennie is soft spoken and very attentive. She made sure we were fine along the way, checked in frequently. I highly recommend this tour company , putu and Lennie if you are considering making a climb.

Worthy trek with a professional operator

Summited Gunung Agung on a trip arranged by Bali Trekking Tour. The agency was professional and very responsive; managed to find a guide with less than 24h notice. They required a full payment of the fees before the trip, as compared to other operators which will only demand payment after the trip was completed. The local guide Wayan Botak was very experienced, knowledgeable and professional, it was a pleasure to go with him. Their driver Kadek was great, he found a local warung to eat on the way back. He even came back to my hotel the next day to return an umbrella that I had forgotten in the car! As a note to other travelers, do note that Agung is a grueling trek, especially if going all the way to the summit. If climbing the path to the summit from Pasar Aung, make sure that you are experienced and comfortable scrambling up and down on steep craggy terrain even in wet conditions, and read up from online sources, as agencies may fail to represent the difficulty of the trail.

The most challenging yet expansive experience!

This was one of the most challenging yet expansive experiences of my life! Our guide Ketut was amazing! He couldn’t have been more supportive, patient, and educational. I highly recommend this company and this guide.

My partner and loved the this tour, definitely worth it

We highly recommend using them! I thought I would put in a summary of our trip to help. We were collected the night before by our driver who was very friendly and spoke great English, we then arrived at the start point where we were offered some tea and given food for breakfast (some fruit, biscuits, and a bun not great but we had our own snacks) gloves, ponchos, a head torch and walking poles for our mission. Our guide Kake was great, spoke good English and was funny, we all battled our way up the hill stopping for a small fire to warm up before heading into very exposed terrain. We had amazing weather but was still cold in a thermal and insulated jacket when not moving. We hit the top took some pictures and saw the sunrise. We then headed back down where the guide was super helpful with where to place our feet as the terrain should not be underestimated especially when you’re tired after 6 hours getting to the top. We then got back after a 6 hour descent and the same driver collected us and drove us to our accommodation. This track is very demanding physically and mentally as we started before midnight and finished the hike in just under 12 hours. The terrain is very difficult on the way down with steep slopes either side of the ridge line and very decent gradient rocky track. Over all the track from halfway up is very very hard but definitely doable for the fit and healthy. If very windy at the top definitely dangerous. Our guide was great at helping where he could. The only criticism we have is very little communication from them prior to picking us up as this is quite a big hike.

Mount Agung

It was an awesome experience! Beginning with Ady, the best driver at the island! Picked me up right on time at midnight. We started the hike around 2am and summited at 6am to see an incredible sunrise! The weather was perfect and Kaki my guide was very kind to serve me coffee on the summit 🤩 he‘s so funny and very professional! He was prepared for any situation! Luckily we didn’t need to make use of it. The way up took us 4 hours and down around two. We were really fast, normally it would take twice as long. I would definitely do it again!! Great trip if you’re looking for a challenge

It was a real adventure getting there and back, but the view from the top was totally worth it. The guide and driver were top class.

Great guides

This was an amazing experience. We were picked up and dropped off by Agus who arrived early and very friendly and chatty. The views were beautiful however the climb was very difficult. Particularly coming back down during the day. The guide however, Botak, was incredibly helpful and guided us slowly and steadily throughout the whole process. I was very sore afterwards but glad I did it. Would not have been able to do it with the guides, so thank you!

Life changing experience

Seeing 2023 out with our biggest climb of the year, the active volcano Mount Agung 3142m! Such an amazing experience, which pushed the boundaries of what we had ever achieved before. 12 hours including breaks from start to finish. Our guide Khaki (60 years old) was fantastic, not only from his knowledge of pacing ourselves, when to stop & rest but was making jokes and engaging the whole hike. The trip down was just as tough with both our knees on the verge of giving out and all the aches & pains setting in. Our only goal was the last checkpoint, never been so happy to see a checkpoint in my life as it meant just 2.2km to go. Physically demanding but you need to try and push through to the top no matter how long it takes

A great experience!

Great experience climbing mount Agung with Bali trekking tour! Putu, our driver, came on time to pick us up, gave us some tips on how to pace ourselves and smoothly drove us to the departure point. Then Leni, our trek guide, took over. Super nice woman from the region, very attentive and motivating! The view from the top is breathtaking -we were lucky with the weather. Loved the whole experience and would definitely recommend these guys for your trek!

Totally worth it, overwhelming views!

We did the tour from Pura Besakih to the top of Mount Agung and it was absolutely worth the price, (due to which we hesitated at first) and a really unique experience! The way up actually requires good physical condition as you will hike 2.000 meters in altitude in 6-7h and you'll feel the air getting thinner towards the top, but since you'll hike with your own guide (about 1-2 pers/guide (probably per booking?) with several groups starting and occasionally waiting for each other at the resting points on the way), you could always slow down your pace a bit and take more breaks! To be fair, we experienced the way down more demanding than the way up, because it is extremely slippery due to dust/ashes or loose stones on the way (often as deep as your shoes), so that you really have to concentrate on every step. However, the view at the top was seriously overwhelming and rewarding and lets you forget any tiredness! Our guide was very friendly and experienced and led us along the best paths, occasionally telling us facts about the volcano or Bali. Also, the pick-up from and drop-off at our homestay was super easy, on time and comfortable due to our driver Agus, who was also already there to drive us home to our bed when we reached the ending point.

Great experience

I had a great experience with Bali trekking tour thanks to the driver, Putu and the guide, Kaki. The booking and payment was done easily by Whats app. Putu, who was very friendly and helpful, pickup me up from the hotel and brought me safely home after the trekking. The hike was tough but doable with a good stamina and enough breaks. Unfortunately the weather prevented us to go the actual summit. We could still watch the beautiful sunrise from just below. Although not summiting was a bummer it shows Kaki had safety as a priority and he managed to made this a memorable trekking.

Simple we recommend

The trip was difficult, but sunrise simply amazing. Service was excellent. Driver Agus was at our hotel in time, very friendly and helpfull, his english was very good. Guide Gede aswell: friendly, helpfull, and patient. We recommend.

A charming guide and a wonderful experience

I can higly recommend the hike for everyone interested in hiking Mount Agung, experienced or intermediate. It was my first long hike and it was hard but with an experienced guide more than manageable. Leni is actually the second hike guide (second just to her mom!) who hiked the Mount Agung ever. I had the highest of trust to her skills. She explained us everything we needed to know and anything we asked about.

Amazing Mt Agung experience

Mount Agung was our absolute best experience of Bali. Such a challenging but worthwhile experience. It started with a hotel pickup from Agus who was great - on time, comfortable air conditioned and safe journey. Leni our guide was amazing keeping us safe throughout the walk and constantly helping up, we couldn’t have done it without her. Breakfast at the top with sunrise was one of the best experiences of our life… we will never forget it! Overall an amazing experience with a great company and would 100% recommend for other people.

Really recommend!

Really good tour! Driver and guide were really friendly and speak good English! We were in good condition but is a tough hike, especially the downhill on technical terrain - but so worth it!

Super challenging but worth it experience. Make sure you have hiking shoes! We didn’t and it was very tough going down the mountain.

Best tour and experience in Bali

That was a challenging but wonderful tour ! It is not for everyone as it is physicaly demanding, and not everyone makes it to the top, but it is really worth to do. Views at the top are incredible (we were blessed with perfect weather). The guide Leni is very friendly and has good sense of humour. Two her dogs have joined the climb and gave an additional very welcomed spice to the tour.

Wonderful Sunrise

The hike is long but rewarding. Beautiful view over Bali from the top. The guide was very experienced and had a perfect timing for the sunrise. We did not have to wait at the cold summit but did a break with fire and tea before. We would definitely do it again!

Great experience with Bali Trekking Tour!

Everything from the hotel pickup to the private guide that brought me up and back down was great. My driver Agus was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and my guide Kaki, who has climbed the mountain 3,000 times in the last 30 years, was very alert and focused. It was a long hike but worth the challenge!

Worth every step

The hike is very challenging, but it’s worth it. Once you made it to the top, the views were amazing: you can see Mt Batur and Abang, Gn Ranjani in Lombok and also Mt Ijen and Bromo on Java. The views are guaranteed since you’re always above the clouds. When hiking up (approx. 6-7h) you’ll make a few breaks. The guides prepare some food and coffee. We even slept an hour next to a fireplace to gain new powers for the last part of the hike, which is the the most challenging… Hiking down is more difficult since everyone’s really tired. And the routes are slippery and full of small pebbles and you can easily slip and fall 😬. But without bigger breaks we made it down in 4h. Remember to bring a lot of water (3L), some snacks and a change of clothes (incl socks) since you’ll be completely wet when you arrive at the top and it’s pretty cold up there and windy. The organisation via Bali trekking tour was great: I’ve contacted them via WhatsApp to ask if they offer the hike for solo travellers. The communication and the payment was easy. My driver Agus was great. And a Special thanks to my guide Kadek who kept me motivated and helped me make the ascend possible. He lives in the village at the base camp, he showed me his house and farm and was very friendly. I hope he’s passed well since it’s a hell of a job the guides are doing!

Beautiful sunrise at the crater, hard to climb but worth every penny

Basically, in Bali, there are 3 mountains to trek from low to high, Mt.Batur (1717m), Mt.Abang(2152m), and Mt.Agung (3142m). Just talking about Mt.Agung, it's a Sunrise trek. There are 2 routes. The long one starts at Besakih temple. This one reaches the top of 3142m, but it's a more difficult walk (6-7 hrs). The other route starts at Pasar Agung temple. It's a short walk. than (3.5-4hr) but will reach different peaks which are lower, about 3000m The car driver picks me up from the hotel in Ubud around 2130pm to Besakih temple and starts walking at 2300 The distance is about 7-8 km from 1200m to 3142m. The first 2-3 km is a forest, not steep, then it starts to be rocky with a steeper slope. There are many points to climb up. There are only 2 POS resting points at about 2000m and 2400m (at POS2 there is a tent point. For those who walk during the day, Sleep in a tent and then walk up to the top around 3 am) Once I’ve passed POS2, we can rest again at the rocky alley. for boiling water, drinking tea, or coffee, by the campfire, or taking a nap before reaching the summit around 5 am (from this point to the summit, about 1 hour) The view here is similar to Mt.Rinjani, but inside there is no lake like Rinjani and the sun will come up on the side of the crater. If you arrive late when the sun rises It will reflect the whole light. I take 30-45 minutes at the top, then walks down around 7:00 a.m. and you will arrive at the starting point at 1200 a.m., depending on your fitness.

Amazing experience. Mt. Agung is a sacred place. It must be treated as is. The guide was so helpful that he collected every single trash on the way down along with me. Mt. Agung is not just the highest peak on Bali but also home of wonderful energies that if you are open to receive you may feel them once you climb up and listen to the silence. Enjoy! Great guide I had on a New Moon Tilam celebration. Highly recommended service. Love MtAgung. It belongs to all of us!

Great experience!!

This was by far the most difficult hike I’ve done in my entire life and I’ve done a lot of hikes. If it wasn’t for this tour and our guide, Kaki, there would be no way I would’ve made it to the top. Kaki was amazing! He was so helpful in navigating the steep and treacherous trail and genuinely cared about our health and well-being. Not to mention he was hilarious. If I ever do this hike again, I would 100% book with this company again and recommend everyone else do so. The view at the top is worth the pain! Just plan on having a lot of grit and willpower. I highly recommend bringing some cliff bars, warm clothing, and water. We also brought Liquid IV which helped us tremendously. Good luck!

A view worth the challenge. Mt Agung

Amazing once in a life time experience. Couldn’t have done it without the amazing help from Kaki, he made sure we got to see the sunrise but never rushed us. Felt very safe and would recommend to anyone with hiking experience.

A view worth every step it took to get there!

We had a lovely trip up Mount Agung for the sunrise. Our driver Putu was very friendly and professional, giving us a briefing of the trip on our drive to the start. We had two guides for the walk, one of whom Keke was particularly knowledgeable and helpful, assisting one of our party down when they became ill. Overall, we found it to be a smooth operation and would recommend booking with this company.

Best decision ever

Life changing. I did it by myself with guide Gede and he was attentive and professional from start to finish. Would say I’d do it again for the view at the end, but don’t know if I have it in me!

Amazing Experience

Amazing views at the top, excellent guiding from Lenny who literally held my girlfriends hand down the mountain. It’s definitely tough and a bit of a scramble near the top. But if you’re a fit person there’s no reason you cannot achieve this. If you’re able, this is the choice over the crowded Batur.

Unforgetable experience guided by amazing people!

Truly an unforgetable experience! Agus picked us up at our hotel and had a very nice ride to the starting point. He was very friendly and I learned a lot from Bali's culture from him! Gede was then the one to guide us to the top. He was keeping a nice pace while making sure we were keeping up. We were given some snacks and water to make sure we will be okay. It is a very challenging hike, but so rewarding once you reach the top! I will be forever grateful to Agus and Gede for helping us achieve this hike.

We were picked up around 12am from our hotel and started our hike around 2am. When we arrived at the hike starte point, our guide gave us gloves, water, banana and biscuits for the hike Our trekking guide spoke good English and was experienced and friendly The car driver was also a good driver and very careful on the road

Awesome trekking Tour!

We did the easy Mount Agung Tour together with our guide Leni. Whenever the tour was very hard, she brought us very safe to the peak. The sunrise was amazing and the mood was awesome. Very nice experience!
