Half Day Athens Sightseeing Tour with Acropolis Museum

Too Tall

Guide didn't let us know that there were 6600 steps to the Acropolis. At 76 Y/O, it was painful. Didn't make it to the top.

Good tour, enormous crowds at the site.

Guide was very good. Her knowledge of the site was exceptional. The downside of the tour was the enormous crowds at the site and the size of the group. Our guide did a good job of keeping the group together.

Must see sites in Athens

Acropolis and Acropolis Museum were both must see sites. Tour guide was excellent in explaining what we were seeing.

Enjoyed the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. My only complaint is the listening devices died for several people including mine about a third into the tour.

Good experience

Despite an unfortunate experience at the end of the tour. We are very pleased with the customer service support that was able to accommodate our concerns. We are most impressed with Nicoleta at the Tour center. Love Viator for it’s user friendly apps and services!!

Acropolis Fail

Given the heat advisory in Greece. Our guide should have rearranged the tour schedule and taken us to the ACROPOLIS first. The wait on the lines were extremely long due to them clising at Noon. Also hebdid not give us any opportunity to stop at the end and buy any souvenirs in the local area that we walked through to get back to the bus. Not even 10 mins! I have never been a tour where you could not buy any souvenirs!

A really great experience

I had already been up to the Acropolis the day before so the tour guide was very accommodating and allowed me to wait at the cafe at the entrance until the group came back down and I joined them. The Acropolis museum was phenomenal and the tour guide very knowledgeable. I enjoyed the tour.

Great tour - Great Guide

Great tour guide - she was very knowledgeable. The guide got us through the line and into the museum very quickly. There was so much to see and the museum prepared us for the time we spent outside at the site. We were slowed down by members of the group heading off on their own and some of the headsets ran out of battery power before we concluded our tour.

Very disorganized, not matching description

Our to our was vey disorganized. Suppose to run from 8:30 am but was told pickup at 7:55 am. The. Bus made multiple stops before stop at Olympic stadium. Tour of city meant passing the tomb of unknown soldier four times on way to Acropolis museum and took 1+ hours. Stop at museum was to be 1 hour then 2 hours at Acropolis. Instead museum was almost 3 hours. Once this was done we were given the option of receiving tickets to Acropolis to proceed on our own and getting ourselves back to our hotel or continuing with tour. Overall the tour was crowded and not well organized. In Museum, 1 hour hearing about pottery on 1st floor, 1 hour on second floor and 1 hour on upper floors. We kept asking when we would proceed to Acropolis and response was always “soon”. Was not offered tickets to acropolis until after the 3 hours at museum. We proceeded to Acropolis on our own. Spent considerable time at top and encountered tour group moving upward on our way down. Overall we were very dissatisfied with this tour as we spent too much time waiting and not enough time experiencing Athens.

Athens Acropolis half day -beware of pick pockets

The guide was knowledgeable. But some points of the trip were not so great. At the old coliseum, some guy dressed up in traditional Greek garb, was taking pictures but charging 5 euros. We should have been warned, as he didn’t tell til afterwards. We thought he was part of tour. Within several minutes of getting off the bus to walk to the Acropolis museum one person was robbed on the street. I would expect that the guide should advise the participants to keep valuables safe. The guide spent some time with the person then I guess the police are called. We continued on..again the guide didn’t tell people to keep valuables safe. Nor did the guide keep the group together..not very good crowd control. Throughout the whole trip the guide didn’t really keep group together. By the time we got to the Acropolis it was packed..not really much time for pictures. Again, not good crowd control. Recommendations: 1. Guide should advise if scams for pictures and especially about pick pockets! 2.Guide should keep the group together better 3. Recommend going to the Acropolis first vs last. … what a zoo.

Vickie was a great guide—lots of information, rearranged day to go to Acropolis first due to potential rain. Pickup from hotel was prompt, comfortable.

A tour from hell

The tour ended up being a 50 person bus. It was supposed to be an English speaking tour however half of the people on the bus were French and the one poor deer tour guide who is very sweet had a very difficult time changing languages between English and French And of course there is no way one to a guy could handle 50 people even if they were all English. This tour turned out to be a tour from hell. Also the tour guide said the tour was supposed to be over at 12:30 PM and the tour said it was until 2:30 PM. The tour guide left the tour early and the bus driver took everybody back. The tour guide did not offer any assistance or guidance for people that were handicapped especially at the Acropolis where there was an elevator they could have told people about to take people that had difficulty walking uphill especially without handrails and lots of steps. We’re very unhappy with the tour and this is probably the worst review I’ve ever given any to her company. Totally Awful experience.

Did not love this tour.

Did not enjoy this tour. Guide was very sweet but did not expect it to be in English and in French so everything she spoke about had to be repeated in two languages. Also would have liked to do the acropolis first since the later it gets, the hotter it gets. Took about two hours to get out of the museum. Would suggest to ask about this before booking.

Rude tour guide

Tour guide for half day tour on Wednesday m, July 27th, was very abrasive with group. When she entered bus, she looked at me with no mask and said “you need to have your mask on”, I said I don’t have one. She the said, “the police will give you a three hundred dollar ticket and your on your own”, she was an older lady and I could not read her name tag. She also argued with other people in the bus and as we entered museum. I did feel bad for her because she seemed unhappy at times and the trek was hard on her. I don’t take writing this review lightly but it appears she does this regularly, so hopefully you can correct this behavior. Your company should not take peoples money and then stain their trip with a disgruntled employee.

Terrible equipment

Guide was great and we were able to get into the museum and acropolis quickly. However, the equipment to hear the tour guide speak was TERRIBLE! Couldn’t hear anything between the wind, the awful ear piece, and it being too far from his face I would’ve rather just gone alone.

Very organized, and right...

Very organized, and right on time. Our guide was very knowledgeable and although she was from Colombia, her passion on the Greek mythology was obvious. Totally would recommend to my friends

Exceptional and Enriching

The tour was exceptional and enriching. My tour guide, Demetrius, was so knowledgeable and engaging. I learned the history of each destination on the tour and he was so dedicated to assuring that each member of our group was informed and included. I highly recommend this tour as the entire experience was seamless!

Horrible experience with drivers

Will explain The reason I gave the tour a poor rating. Tour bus did not pick us on time about 20min late. Once we pick up all the other guest our tour started. We had Evan as tour guide, he was very professional and knowledgeable. He gave us plenty of break time, picture opportunities and answered all the questions. At the end of our trip we were supposed to be dropped off at our pick up location. Last minute we were told we would be dropped off ten minutes away from location. I told her we’re not from here we would appreciate we dropped off as stated on the reservation at location of pick up. She continues to argue about she’s running late for her next tour and will not be able to drop us off. We refused to get off then she decided to drop us 5 min walk closer near the location and we had to walk the rest of the way. Horrible experience would not recommend.

Good and knowledgeable guide

On the Acropolis. We warned it is quite a walk up the hill from the parking lot to the top. Otherwise a very enjoyable morning

Tour of the acropolis.

Enjoyable and informative tour. Pick up and drop off good. Whispers would have been useful, the phone app did not work and were a waste of time. Enjoyed the acropolis and the museum. Could have done without the city tour.

Wonderful tour guide!

The tour guide was absolutely fantastic!!! She was so knowledgeable and had some many interesting stories and facts. She was incredibly kind and personable. The tour showed a good amount of essential Athens landmarks. We really enjoyed it, but by far the best part was the tour guide.

Excellent way to see 3 major attractions

Perfect amount of time and a good way to see 3 major experiences in a half day. We were on a good schedule and in fact, I ended up staying at the museum after the tour to experience more. Tour guide was experienced and I learned a lot compared to when I’ve visited these attractions on my own.

Best way to enjoy the new Acropolis museum and the Acropolis

The guide was super knowledgable and we could spend time in New Acropolis museum plus find the best way to see the Acropolis. No need to queue anywhere.

Great Εxperience

I am a Greek Super host with 246 bookings so far.I always choose what is best for my guests.For this reason I decided to make a trial tour around Athens using the services of the "Athens Sightseeing Tour" in order to assess it along with my husband before we suggest it to our future guests. We are thrilled. Tourists will be able to get to know various sights of Athens which they will never do should they visit Athens on their own. Our guide 's speech was pleasant and not stilted or purely informative.She spoke to us about the history of both the City and every single sight we drove by .The coach driver stopped wherever we felt like in order to take some extra shots .The guided tour of the Parhenon and the museum was fabulous .Our guide was innately courteous and eagerly answered all the questions that that were raised by the group. The tour left us with the best of the impressions. We will wholeheartedly recommend it to all our future guests.

No pasaron por los pasajeros y tuvieron que hacerlo por su cuenta y el corresponsal dice que si pero mis pax son muy c9ngiablrs

Caro y malo

El tour estuvo realizado por Anastasia, la cual se adaptó y lo realizó en inglés y español. Nosotros lo contratamos en español, pero nos avisaron al cabo de nada de contratarlo que no había disponibilidad en español, si nos importaba que fuese en inglés. Nos adaptamos al inglés, aunque, finalmente, el día del tour se hizo en ambos idiomas. Las informaciones de Anastasia estuvieron bien, pero no utilizaba bien el micro y muchas veces la gente no oía lo que decía. A parte, nos dio alguna información errónea (fuimos al museo de la música porque nos dijo que era gratis, hacía años que ya no lo era). A parte, en la Acrópolis, pasamos muy rápido por el Partenón, pero nosotros por suerte hicimos alguna foto más dejando que el grupo se avanzara. Menos mal de ello, porque cuando nos dimos cuenta ya habíamos salido de la Acrópolis sin opción de volver a entrar. El tour nos costó 170€ a dos personas, y por el servicio que se nos dio, fue excesivo. Además, las personas que venían en el tour llegaron tarde y estuvimos dando vueltas con el autobús para recogerles. Lo normal sería que si hacen tarde, sea su problema.
