Lovely trip

Delphi was a wonderful experience. It was a long bus ride but worth it to see the amazing sights. Lunch was lovely and our guide did a very nice job explaining the mythsand legends of the Greek gods.

Good trip, would recommend to anyone. However, by June was quite hot, come earlier or much later when the temperatures cooled down

Delightful Delphi

Delphi were great ruins. The restaurant “Symposium “ worked so hard and quickly to serve 200 guests almost at once. They offered different food to a picky eater and brought spaghetti for the children thinking they could prefer it to the salad and appetizer of zucchini fritters. Our guide was excellent. She knew when to tell stories and when to let us ride in quiet. We lucked out as the weather gods blessed us with a breeze during the heatwave so we weren’t too hot. This was a most informative tour. We learned so much about mythology, archeology , and history. Be forewarned that this site is on a hillside so the walking is a bit difficult.

Delphi guided tour

We loved the guided tour of Delphi. Our guide was great about explaining things along the way. The bus was cool and comfortable, and our family had a great time and learned a lot. Well done!

Great trip

Very good tour. Lady was very knowledgeable. She talked a lot but was sweet. Cafe stops are overly expensive. So watch what you buy. They do charge a lot but I understand. Delphi was beautiful. So much history.

Awesome day tour with a friendly guide

We had a tour with Evan and he was excellent; super friendly and gave us all the most interesting facts plus very timely in everything. Would definitely recommend if you’re trying to get away from the crowded city for one day, Delphi is gorgeous!

Great day activity

The driver and guide were both super sweet and amazing! Our guide was super knowledgeable and gave us lots of information about the areas we traveled through. He also went over some of the history and mythology as we traveled.

Very knowledgeable guide

The tour guide was great. Over the last several days we have done multiple tours in both Rome and Athens, and this guide was by far the most knowledgeable. His in-depth information was impressive, not only at the site, but also while touring the museum. He was very well prepared. We also liked being taken straight to a restaurant that could accommodate a bus full of people, without having to navigate all of that by ourselves. Even the down time on the air conditioned bus ride was kind of nice.

Great tour terrible food

Delphi was wonderful. The guide was great and very knowledgeable. However the meal that was included was terrible. Every tour that included lunch was always chicken rice potatoes and what we call Cole slaw in the states Bland and very dried out. Not what we expected. I have heard Greek food is wonderful. We had hoped to try real Greek food. Pretty sure this wasn’t it. I will not include lunch on tours anymore

Delphi, No planning required

Our family of four with young adult children were all very pleased. A wide range of ages, comfortable bus, informative guide, made this day trip from Athens a win all round.

Fantastic day

We almost did the trip on our own, but we are so glad that we took the tour. Our guide, Marianna, pointed out interesting things and contextualized what we were seeing during most of the drive as well as at the site. It was well-organized and really great value for everything we did. I would recommend this tour to anyone. It’s been the highlight of our trip.

Visiting the Gods in Delphi

We had an amazing time on this tour. Dionysus was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. George the bus drive was very cautious and safe on the roads. I definitely recommend this tour.

Long day but a good trip

Decent tour but a bit of a trip out of the city. Good mix of people and nothing was rushed, felt like a good amount of time once we got there. Lunch was pretty good but you need to pay for your drinks, so be prepared to take money or a card. George the guide was really well engaged with everyone and couldn’t help you more.

Great guide

Great, informative guide! We opted to not do the lunch and brought food but still ended up buying nibbles as you stop in a restaurant on the way back so there’s no where else to sit other than in the restaurant.

Delphi experience

Fantastic day with an amazing guide who had a wealth of knowledge of Delphi

Amazing informative guide who gave us the back history of Delphi during the journey. We were given enough time at Delphi Museum to explore while he continued to point out the highlights. I struggle with stairs but I took my time and enjoyed the beautiful scenery with the ruins. I appreciated the audio enhancement because I could still hear our guide even if I was looking elsewhere. The two stops and lunch was nice. Extremely efficient and clean. Thank you for a fantastic day.

Not the way to visit

Not a great experience. The group was too large, so often when the guide was describing parts of the site, you couldn’t see what he was talking about because there were too many people for everyone to gather close to him. This was especially true in the museum. The worst part was the restaurant for lunch. The food was mediocre and didn’t give one a good sampling of Greek cuisine. The salad was nothing more than bad coleslaw. When a woman at my table asked the server about getting Greek salad, he said no. She stated ‘it’d be nice if you served Greek salad’. He replied. ‘It’d be nice if you all paid more for the food’. As a former restaurant server I was mortified at such terrible service. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. My wife and I agreed we should have rented a car and visited the site on our own.

Delphi - the Parthenon of Greece. Don’t read this, just go

A truely amazing experience and well worth the trip outside of Athens. Georgios, our brilliant guide, provided a running commentary from Athens to the slopes of Parnassus with amazing insights on Greek life from the Classical period to today (he did well not to lose his voice as he pointed out everything and anything of interest along the national highway). Delphi itself cannot be explained in words… so I won’t try. Follow in the footsteps of those thousands of years before you and see for yourself.

Interesting Enjoyable Great value beautiful

Superb from booking to our return to our hotel. Keytours answered a few questions I had very promptly. The journey was on a comfortable air-conditioned coach and it was lovely to travel into the beautiful countryside outside of the city. What made the trip exceptional was our guide, Kostas, who is not only very well organised but is extremely knowledgeable (about everything) and clearly very interested in the history of the area and of the archaeological site itself. He really brought the oracle 'to life' as it were. The museum tour was also led by Kostas in a 'greatest hits' fashion, pointing out choice exhibits and why they were relevant and/or important and why. We pre booked lunch which was perfectly fine, three courses, with a choice of main course. Honourable mention to Nicos, our coach driver, who did a great job managing the Athens traffic and parking in very easy to find locations. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting day.

Enjoyable, but misleading

While I enjoyed the experience itself the booking options of the tour are misleading. It is an overpriced ferry service. I selected the audio with optional lunch. No audio devices were provided. You have to pay your own entrance fee, which also includes the museum and the ‘optional’ lunch you have to pay for yourself. While the transport staff were friendly the booking process is misleading and unclear. It simply states ‘if option is selected’ but doesn’t say whether the option is included or not.

A Nice Tour with a Friendly Guide

We had a very good experience with KeyTours. Our guide, Mariana, was very knowledgeable and thorough in guiding us through the tour. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Don't visit this site without a tour guide!

The tour guides are true professionals. I would not visit this site without a tour guide. We learned so much on the bus ride there and throughout the tour. Our guide Marianna was wonderful. There are enough stops for coffee and bathroom breaks. The bus was very comfortable. The whispers system (headphones) work great so you don't miss any of what the tour guide is saying. Lunch was very nice--variety of options to choose from and included appetizers, salad, main and dessert--you just pay for your beverages if you chose the option with lunch. Highly recommend! So much history to hear about on the way to the site and at Delphi.

A rather worldwind tour

The lovely setting of Delphi and the tour up into the hills gave a very different sense of Greece than the islands.

An OK day trip that could be much better

The pickup was on-time. Our tour guide (May 11, 2024) was knowledgeable and speaks good English. The reasons we give 3 stars are: 1) The planning was not very good: we had plenty of time, but the Temple of Athena was NOT included (a free site). 2) The selection of the restaurant was BAD. The owner intentionally tried to overcharge us. So, when we found the bill we paid was more than what we had and asked an itemized receipt in addition to our credit card receipt, he still printed a bill that had only the amount charged printed, no other details. Even when he tried to explain to us, he raised the prices for individual items to make it up.

Delfi med my daughter

Sharing the trip to legendary Delfi with my daughter, very interested in ancient mythology, was the best part. I really enjoyed the visceral experience walking up the path in the temple area.

Superb coach trip through the Greek countryside with a very good guide. Great experience at the temple. The journey stops were at clean efficient places with a five stars for the lunch venue which was great. We didn’t go for the included meal and had brilliant choices from their menu. Perfect day. Well worthwhile trip

The day tour was a long day - 8am to 7pm (with a bit too long stops at cafes/lunch) - but Delphi was a fantastic experience. The weather was colder than Athens so take warmer clothes. The Key Tours guide Marianna was excellent. She was very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable.

The experience was...

The experience was overall pretty good, the drive was a bit long, but the views of Delphi are stunning and guide did a good job as well. However, we had an incident during the lunch which I find unacceptable and concerning - during lunch my partner was served food with pieces of porcelain (apparently, from a broken plate in the kitchen). Luckily, my partner felt it in the mouth before chewing/swallowing, so it did not cause any harm. However, thought that simple day trip to Delphi could end up with broken teeth(if you chew on solid piece of porcelain), or visit to ER if my partner had swallowed the piece of porcelain is extremely concerning. I understand that lunch is not provided by the tour company, but as a customer you also have no choice in where to eat either - during the tour they drive you to a partnering restaurant in a remote location, regardless of whether you pre-pay for lunch or not, you will have to eat in that restaurant (or not have lunch at all). Since there is partnership between restaurant and tour, and given the severity of the situation, I hope the tour company will reach out to restaurant to ensure safety of their customers

A very positive experience

I was picked up for the tour from my hotel without any problems. The guide was very informative and knew much about the structures at Delphi. I was glad that I went. The lunch was tasty and the venue for lunch was very good too. Overall a very positive experience.

Informational Experience

My cousin and I took this tour organized by Key Tours. Domnique was the guide who accompanied us on this 12 hour trip. She was very knowledgeable and was able to provide a lot of history on Greek Mythology which was relatable to the sites we saw. I would recommend this trip to tourists

A great trip

Excellent trip, very well planned and executed. Our guide (Mariana) was incredibly well informed and provided us with interesting historical information, as well as facts about modern Greece, great summaries for various mythological stories and on point explanations. The team at Key Tours made sure everything went according to plan and that we didn't lack for anything during the trip. The archeological site of Delphi is a must see for anyone interested in experiencing ancient Greece and the additional information from our guide made the experience that much more enjoyable.

Delphi is a fascinating historic site. The ruins are beautiful and we had a great guide who provided lots of info on Greek mythology and the purpose of the ruins.

Delphi Day Trip 2024

It was an outstanding and most memorable day trip from Athens to Delphi., I would highly recommend this to anyone. 100 mile drive was not too bad, and there were plenty of stops along the way. Our ride along guide Irene was outstanding and I give her five stars, I would give her 6 if the ratings went that high.

Excellebt experience!

What a lovely tour. From bus to guide to the information was just perfect. I am sorry I am not able to recollect our Guide's name but it started from 'D' and she was excellent. With so much detailed history about the place it was nothing lesser than an wonderful experience!

Wonderful experience to visit what i had only read about in history books

The guide (Irena)was very knowledgeable and gave a significant information to help place the historical artifacts within context. Loved it. It was a long day with walking on uneven surfaces. I am not sure this was made clear as one individual asked for a wheelchair. Delphi is definitely not handicap accessible FYI. However, I appreciated the empathy of the guide in helping the individual. Lunch was a nice touch!

Definitely worth it - but just one niggle.

Fantastic experience. The only thing I would say was that lunch was very late (about 14:30) and they took us to an extremely overpriced cafe in the morning where everyone had to buy snacks at crazy prices. I would bring my own next time. Also would have liked 30 mins to explore the museum on my own, as we had a quick wizz round. Actually if I were to do it again I would stay in a pretty town like Arrachova for example, then go to the site as soon as it opens. Then you will have the whole mystic place to yourself. That would be truly amazing.

The easy way to get to and from Delphi

Delphi is a three-hour ride from Athens, so it makes sense to have someone do the driving for you. You have pit stops to and from the site for comfort so you need not worry about being in a bus too long. Our guide, Dimitrios, was very professional. He knew when to discuss the important historical information about the site and knew when to give our ears a rest. When on site, Dimitrios led us around the ruins and gave them context. He also led a spirited tour of the interior of the museum, discussing its most important highlights. The museum is not large so this did not take all that long. The highlight is the Charioteer from Delphi, but there are other notable works on display. The bus is comfortable although the seats are a bit tight and close to one another. The lunch is optional and in a sense is not. Those who prebook are in the same restaurant as those who do not, and there is no other place to go. The restaurant is located in a spot in which there are no other options. This is a fine tour. We were back in Athens at 6:30, however this was a Saturday. With Athens traffic, you may end up later during the week.

Wonderful tour !

We really enjoyed the trip, the entire excursion was very well organized. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, the scenery on our way to Delphi was beautiful. I highly recommend.

Great tour

Our guide was wonderful and very informative, the tour overall was most satisfying. The buses weren't the most comfortable but did the trick, thanks for a great overall tour

Delphi tour

Delphi tour took over 3 hours one way. We were picked up at our hotel by a mini van and transferred to a bus at the main office of the tour agency. The bus had a bad smell and the seats had no leg room. The most uncomfortable bus I have ridden on. I would not go through this tour operator again. We had a bathroom break along the way. The site was a disappointment. On the way back, we stopped at the restaurant and ate lunch- for those who purchased lunch , they had a 3 course menu- Greek salad, appetizer- all fried items on a platter, and main. We ordered on our own. Then another 3 hours back. I would not do it again. I recommend Meteora tour - that was beautiful and sights were amazing. See my next review.

Great insights into Ancient Greek history and mythology

Very interesting tour with impressive and knowledgeable commentary by Dimitris and expert driving by Tomas. Bus ride was comfortable for the 5 hour journey there and back with brief breaks along the way. The three course lunch, which was optional, was in a charming restaurant offering traditional food which was very nice.
