Really great day up to...

Really great day up to Delphi! Our guide, Theo, was fantastic. So kind, sweet and super knowledgeable. He was patient and very willing to talk about any subjects people asked about. Our guide for Delphi itself was also extremely knowledgeable and very passionate about the Delphi, itself. The only reason I gave four stars is that I would have liked more time at the museum. We were sort of rushed through and didn’t have any free time to explore. It is a very rich museum and while it is not large, it is worth a bit more time. Otherwise, lunch was wonderful, the sights were perfect and it was small group and it was a lovely day.

Recommended!

A great way to get to see Delphi from Athens. Everything was well- organised: the minibus pickup, a guide to tell us about the site on the way there, a specific guide at the site, a recommendation for lunch afterwards, then the minibus back to Athens. Fantastic site to visit.

Great views

We really enjoyed it. The views were amazing. Lunch with the group was fun. It was in the 90’s and the climbing was a bit challenging.

Must see

This was an incredible day with a very engaging, informative and friendly tour guide (Danae). Whilst the bus trip was long Danae explained many things with passion and by the time we had a traditional Greek cuisine lunch she was officially one of the group. The only negative was that the group felt the local Delphi Ruins guide was more interested in staying in the museum (out of the 35C heat) than out in the ruins and therefore we were rushed in the ruins and didn’t even have time to get to the stadium.

Peloponessian Party

My adult son and I loved Epidaurus and Nafplion! Mycenae was challenging, as it was hit, steep to climb in spots, no shade, and lots of insects. Still enjoyable. Corinth Canal and ancient ruins were good too.

I had a great time!

Talking and laughing with Chris and Theo...on the way back to Athens... They work well together and their banter ...back and forth was definitely entertaining... Together they are very very funny!

Interesting trip

Bus A/C broke down during our trip. Beautiful archeological site and museum. Good background provided by licensed guide. Lovely lunch location.

Worth the money

General Ted was great. The van was comfortable and the trip was worth the value. I’d highly recommend the trip to anyone trying to get out of the city of the day.

Nice air conditioned van. Athena was super nice & very informative on the drive there. There's a short stop for coffee & bathroom break.The private guide who took us to the museum &sites was very nice & very knowledgeable. We had a wonderful lunch. Everyone sits together, you order & pay your bill separately. There is no stop on the way back to Athens city center which takes about 2 1/2 hours. Very well organized.. My adult children & I enjoyed it!

Wow, we were picked exactly on Time! Leele was very engaging immediately making us feel welcome and asking about our stays in Athens. She has incredible knowledge about great mythology TONY the driver was friendly and helpful. And the tour guid at Delphi was very informative, friendly and thorough. Beautiful lunch and a nice picture at the end. highly recommend this trip, thanks to all three of the team.

I learned a lot of greek history from this trip. Georgia was fun and interactive with us. She arranged pickup very smoothly and trip stared on time.

Worth the drive

The guide was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Great experience and well worth the 2.5 hour drive. The group was small making the trip that much better.

Extremely knowledgable and friendly guide in the minibus. The driver was equally charming and Delphi is simply a dream. We had a wonderful tour and highly recommend it and the tour operator as we did several tours with them and the service and friendliness of the team is simply awesome.

Delphi, with a view

The whole experience was amazing and chilled. Athena was one of the guides and was kind and helpful and knowledgeable about the sites / cities we passed on the way to Delphi. She also gave good recommendations for restaurants and bars within Athens. George was our guide/wikipedia for the questions in our group. He showed us key parts of the sites and explained everything in detail. Athena also took us to a clock tower in one of the villages so we could get great views of the country side. Which was fantastic.

Fantastic tour!!

Fantastic tour! Learned so much, had fun and appreciated the team navigating the crowds for us. Athena and George were the perfect guides. Lunch was excellent too.

Good trip to Delphi

The trip was lovely - we had a great tour leader and the stops along the way were of interesting places and for sufficient time. We did not get the guided tour we had expected at the Delphi site and instead explored on our own. That was disappointing but out of the tour operators hands and they took care of us afterward by refunding part of the trip. I would recommend this trip.

Greek Mythology at its Best

We were guided by Georgia and Tony (Adonis) on our selected trip. Despite a lengthy trip out to Delphi, our guide Georgia was full of information about myths and tales of Ancient Greece which made the trip pass quickly helped with a couple of stops. Was disappointed that our “small group” (specifically booked to enhance our tour as we’re not a fan or large groups) combined with another group to double in size. Another disappointment is that our licensed guide failed to show at Delphi. Whilst I think you can enjoy the museum without a guide (the big groups with guides actually detracted from being able to enjoy the museum), I do think they are needed for the archaeological site. However, this was outside the control of the company and they acted very professionally and did all they could to assist as they cannot show us around the sites. After the museum/archaeological site, we stopped in the town of Delphi for a lovely Greek lunch at a tavern.

A wonderful day

Greatly enjoyed and valued my tour to Delphi with guide George and driver Theo. I learned a lot, got to see more of the country than just Athens, and was very well taken care of. Spendt time in a beautiful town along the way. So glad I went and recommend it highly if you’re interested in truly learning about Delphi.

Amazing day trip to Delphi

Amazing day trip to Delphi, knowledgeable, helpful guides. Our van tour guide Dani was very friendly and shared her knowledge of history and Greece on the way. She was very accommodating to all of us throughout the day. Our guide in Delphi was very passionate about Greek history. It was a worthwhile full day trip.

Misrepresented but still nice

Overall good experience but the tour is misrepresented. This tour is advertised as a small group. We paid extra for a tour of less than 16 people. The only thing you get included is transport and the guided tour. The transport was in a small group, but at Delphi they combined us with another one of their buses and thus it was double the size it was supposed to be. The other bus was also late, so our guide for Delphi left us half way through the archeological site. This was extremely annoying considering I could have saved money and booked a larger tour and had a tour guide for the entire site. Our tour leader Caterina was lovely and very knowledgeable. She could have continued to explain the archeological site after the guide left, but she was not allowed due to the Greek regulation of tour guides for archeological sites. She could be fined 10,000 euros for telling us about the site. She picked a wonderful restaurant for lunch (lunch not included). The food was amazing and there was a great view. Overall it is a very long drive to Delphi, so be sure you are very interested in the subject. Also, don’t bother paying extra for a small group tour since you will be in a large group at the site.

Great tour, great guide!

Great tour! We had to postpone our trip due to lack of participation on our originally scheduled day but Viator made it easy. We also had unexpected traffic on the way to Delphi but our guide Danae and the others did a great job of adapting. Danae was also fantastic in terms of her personality and knowledge of history and Greek mythology! We had a great time!

OK but feel a bit ripped off

When two van-loads of passengers are joined up at the site, is it still a small group tour? I don't think so, and at the end of the day, I feel like I have been ripped off a bit. Also the headsets didn't work. If I accept that "it's technology and sometimes it fails" then I am left asking "why no contingency plan?", e.g spare transmitter. The restaurant for lunch packed us in uncomfortably tightly. Food was ok though.

Great tour..Lily guide and Chris driver were. Wonderful. Lily clearly enjoyed sharing her knowledge which made it fun. Paced perfectly. Mini bus very comfortable

Our Delphi experience

We really enjoyed the tour Katerina was our guide during the ride. She was knowledgeable and very engaging. Her discussion of Greek mythology, history and culture made the ride to the site seem short. She also gave excellent preparation for the tour at Delphi and the museum. Selection of restaurant for lunch was good Our driver Pietro? did a good job managing traffic. Our guide at the Delphi museum ( Teodoro?)and the site was extremely thorough. We learned a great deal about the history of the building and rebuilding of the site, key artifacts and structures and the myth of the oracle. Only downside was ride home was very long given traffic in Athens and multiple hotel drop offs.

Small group tour to Delphi with Tania

Really enjoyed the tour to Delphi. Tania, our group leader was amazing and engaging. She did a great job explaining some of Greek’s history, culture and culinary traditions. The archeological guide gave great insight and explanations. The group lunch afterwards was a nice experience at a family restaurant with traditional Greek cuisine and a great few of the valley. Overall a superb experience!

Day in Delphi

Excellent day in Delphi with fabulous guides and company in a beautiful minibus. Highly recommend for those hoping to see Delphi in a day trip from Athens.

Guided Delphi Tour

We loved the experience. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about th history of the site. He looked out for us, and made sure we saw as much as possible.

Great tour and staff

The driver Alexander and guide in the car Thessa? Was amazing. Very sweet people and knowledgeable and safe driving all the way. We met with Theodore who is so knowledgeable and loves his job genuinely... he had a bit of a lisp and sometimes ended or started sentences very quickly so was a little bit hard to understand for me...but he was so full of facts and stories! It was such a great experience I would go small group tour with them again. The stop for lunch with gorgeous view and food (ewe pasta was so good)

The spirituality of Delphi.

The guides were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Delphi is magical and the villages were amazing. A wonderful trip for anyone visiting Greece!

Best Way to See Delphi

Athena was probably the most fun tour guide I had! She was extremely knowledgeable, engaged with everyone and had everyone engaged as well. Theordore took over at the actual site, and he was incredible! Took us through the museum and the ruins and made sure everyone was comfortable and took breaks (lots of walking!!). And the restaurant Athena took us to was incredible! The view, the food, and the wine! And not pricy at all. Overall, I don’t think there could've been a better duo to take you around Delphi (and the city near it).

Great ride to the countryside, Delphi Museum experience poor

Athina, our bus guide was wonderful but was not allowed to give the Delphi museum tour. Museum tour guide had very thick greek accent and mispronounced many English words with accents on the wrong syllables. Could understand about half of what he said and we would have been much better off with the audio tour. I would not recommend this tour if your museum guide is Theodore.

Delphi Ruins

The bus driver and guide for the bus ride were great and accommodating. We were given lots of facts about Greek food and customs during our ride to Delphi. The bus was very comfortable. The ruins at Delphi were amazing and the view of the mountains was spectacular. The tour guide for the Delphi ruins. Was extremely difficult to follow and understand. The museum was great as well. This was a 9 hour day so it was long but time pasted fairly quickly. Lunch at a local restaurant was wonderful.

Fantastic tour to Delphi

Catherine and V king of the road We’re great guides. The van was comfortable. The driving was very safe and the views were absolutely amazing. Also gave us great recommendations for lunch and ideas of places to go when we return to Athens also.

Friendly staff

Both the driver and the guide were very friendly and accommodating. I did have a hard time understanding the local guide's English though. The driver is the best driver I have had in all the guided tours.

Okay but wished for a different guide at the site.

Our guide Katherine was amazing but the tour guide, George, wasn’t what I was looking for. Walked fast and far ahead, even though we asked him to move slower. Seemed bored and only gave the basic info that I could have read myself. Wasn’t warm or inviting at all. Seemed like I paid a lot for a guide who didn’t care to be there. Wish Katherine had been our guide the whole time.

Lovely trip

Lovely trip to Delfi with a small group. Lily was a terrific guide and the local guide was very interesting and knowledgeable. I forgot to write down his name. Highly recommend.

Great day trip

Our van guide Athena and co partner were energetic happy gals. With my lack of sleep w/ jet lag made things better. The guide at the site was unbelievable-knowledgeable, enthusiastic and great at explaining and repeating things as it was a lot to take in. I was confused about tickets not included. The ad for the trip is a bit misleading. I just read the included not the exclusions. Just be prepared that the $12 entry is not included in the $118 cost of your. Not a biggie but seemed petty…. Lunch spot was fantastic as was food. Overall was a great trip-just be sure you understand what you are getting.

Great small group tour

Great tour! Lily shared helpful info on the way there and back, and she made a lunch reservation in Delphi for our group because it was very, very busy due to the Economic Forum. (Lunch was fantastic and very reasonable.) Bill was also a great driver - very calm and patient during rush hour. We enjoyed Theodore’s tour through Delphi. He was also very friendly and knowledgeable. Lastly, we appreciated being in a smaller (12 people) group. Lily, Bill and Theodore - thank you!

Wonderful Day!

I really enjoyed the trip to Delphi with Sal and Athena! They were so personal, and shared many great stories and history on the way. Our guide at Delphi, Theodore was top notch! He had lots of photos/reference cards for the site and was very passionate about the history of Delphi. The lunch stop was delicious! I tried Athena’s recommendation- the lamb with lemon sauce and it was possibly one of my favorite meals on the trip. Thank you for such a wonderful day!

If your thinking about it, just book it!!!

We did a small group tour to Delphi. Despina was our guide for the ride out to the site and she was amazing! A small air conditioned coach picked us up in front of our hotel. Loved all the historical information and chatting on the way to the site, made the drive go by quickly! A pit stop on way out for coffee and bathroom breaks, photo stop, then main site. A new guide for the museum and outdoor area, then free time to check out the ruins. Lunch in new town Delphi as a group (or can go on own, but not a lot seemed to be open at the time.) Then head back to hotel. Would definitely recommend this day trip!

Athena was the perfect tour guide for this trip. “ Salvador” did a great job driving and was very friendly. Theodore, the tour guide at Delphi was excellent very informative and very friendly. I would highly recommend this trip.
