Not to be missed!

Joy was a pleasant and knowledgeable guide. I appreciated her skills at keeping to the schedule so we could make the most of our time at the site. The Delphi is not to be missed. I learned so much more about Greek history, like the ancient ancient Greeks before Zeus, I had no idea. The drive to and fro was fine. Saw some beautiful countryside, away from the city. Drove by Thebes! That was a nice surprise. Had a nice stop on the way up & back. Well worth the money!

Great time in Delphi!

Delphi was another ancient place to visit. Our tour guide Kelly was very friendly and interesting. We didn’t do the additional food and ate in town (across from the Delphi Hotel) The food was excellent. The tour and museum was just enough and less strenuous than the Acropolis tour. It’s a 2 1/2 hour bus ride each way but a very nice tour and would recommend!

Don’t miss Delphi

Worth the time-so much Greek life culture here that the guide brought to life. Bus is very comfortable and the mountain scenery was great on the drive. I didn’t get the lunch included and there were plenty of places to eat in the village

Well organized and valuable journey to Delphi

Having a guide to the site and museum was essential to gaining any understanding of the history of Delphi. The trip was very affordable, worth it, efficient, the option to get lunch on our own allowed us a magnificent meal below Delphi on a terrace above the sea with a warm breeze blowing through the restaurant. Our guide was knowledgeable and guided us through the museum skillfully among the other tour guides.

Wonderful Tour!

Lovely trip! Nancy was our tour guide and she was funny, engaging, and told us all about the history of Delphi on the way a s when we got there! All the directions were clear and the included lunch was really amazing!

Delphi tour

Seeing the ancient ruins at the centre of the universe. Enjoyed the museum especially the charioteer!

Wonderful

We were very interested in history and mythology and Delphi is a must see. It is a 2.5hr bus ride each way. Lunch is included and had wonderful vegetarian options. I would definitely recommend this guided tour so you can understand the significance of the Delphi ruins. Nancy was an expert and wonderful. There is plenty of time to explore on your own.

Delphi full day tour

Our tour guide Pipi was very knowledge and interactive on our tour. George was a great bus driver. My only challenge was we purchased lunch option. I felt like we were misled. Photos suggested a cute taverna in the quaint town. However we were driven out of town to Delphi’s Amalia Hotel. We had a very generous lunch with cheese pie, spinach pie, Greek salad and chicken breast and veggies. It was tasty however it was in a boring dining room with no air. It was over 90 degrees faranheit. We wish we opted to skip the lunch. We have done other tours with a fantastic authentic lunch option.

Fascinating site in a stunning location. Dominique was an excellent guide who was informative but also very funny.

Learned so much history of everything between Athens and Delphi

Our tour guide Auvai was educational and very kind. Very good English speaking for it not being his first language. Had a slight medical accident with a family member en route to the tour and Auvai was kind, very helpful and concerned. Still finished tour and he made sure things got handled and arranged for doctor to meet us at hotel when we returned. He went above and beyond. Great tour and history of Delphi, highly recommend.

Super day out to Delphi

Excellent tour guide, fascinating sights, great lunch. All in all a fabulous trip. Particularly enjoyed the scenery/location, the amazing antiquities of Delphi and the museum.

Add the food, it’s worth it!

Tour was great, very informative. Make sure to eat before as you won’t be eating until 2 but you do get to stop and buy a snack. Also, adding the food option is definitely worth it. The view and food are 👌🏼

Interesting

Loved this tour and was worth seeing but with Athens traffic turned into a 8 hour trip. So if you don’t have a full day to give I would not recommend it. But was very interesting and lunch was good.

ABSOLUTELY the best day...

ABSOLUTELY the best day trip from Athens! The meeting point was centrally located and easy to find. The tour left promptly on time and the bus was comfortable and had A/C. Our tour guide was WONDERFUL and entertained us with interesting facts and back stories for almost the full ride to Delphi. Delphi itself was breathtaking and such an amazing spot to reflect on life in ancient Greece. The included lunch was at the most gorgeous hotel on top of the mountain and added to the enjoyment of this day trip. On the way home, the bus was quiet and most people slept. Anyone traveling to Athens should add this tour to their to-do list! Very professional tour operator!

Awe inspiring

Our tour guide was knowledgeable, funny, respectful of all of us, filled with interesting facts and presented us with details about this beautiful site that were very interesting. We always use Viator tour guides, they are all terrific. A wonderful experience.

Forever on the bus!

The bus ride is way too long! You spend 3 times more time on the bus than at the site. When you get there the village is very cute and the ruins are interesting but not worth the time it takes to get there. For me it is a big no, don’t go!

History comes alive!

Great tour guide and driver. Good balance of touring and free time to explore. Skipped the optional lunch for a local spot with great food and views. Wonderful experience!

Amazing time in Delphi

Amazing trip to Delphi. Highly recommended, arqueological site is a must if you're in Greece. Our tour guide was excellent and the lunch was exquisite.

Fascinating trip. Crowded. Terrible food.

The trip to Delphi and the museum were great! Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful and the sites were super interesting. Lots of tourists, but I can't complain because we were also part of the problem. The only downside was the included lunch. It was terrible. We were at a nice hotel with a beautiful view but we had significantly better spinach pie at the rest stop on the way in, the salad was a pile of shredded raw cabbage with a couple of drops of dressing somewhere in the middle, the chicken was so tough that cutting it caused the waiter to notice that our table was wobbly. Dessert was delicious, so at least the meal ended on a high note. Get the tour, skip the included lunch. Easily the worst food we've had in Greece.

Lovely experience

Sofia was amazing! She presented us with all the details, both from the journey and from Delphi and the museum - detail by detail. She is very kind and nice, attentive to details, and knows how to keep your attention on what she is describing. The whole trip was amazing! We also ate well! Kindly recommend!!

Oh Daphne!

Rose was a wonderful guide, very informative. This trip was relaxing after some much walking. 2.5 hours each way. There is a stop in between on the bus drive definitely bring water and a snack if you are worried about food, a picky eater, or don’t appreciate the different cultures. The history and being on the very grounds of mythology is beyond words. Lunch at the hotel was ok, but I wasn’t there for a fancy lunch.

The audio from the guide...

The audio from the guide was not good. Also there wasn’t a good story/timeline to the things that were commented during the day. Also we did not visit the Delphi Amphitheater neither was it mentioned.

A Day In Delphi

Great tour of Delphi. Nice ride in the country to reach the site. It was long ride, but gives you a nice view of Greece and a day out of Athens. The site very interesting and the tour guide was very knowledgeable, which made the ride and trip enjoyable. Would recommend this trip.

Wonderful.

Our guide was passionate and interesting. It shows how much she loved what she’s doing. And Delphi! ❤️. Such a fantastic expérience. There is no words to descrbes how much we enjoyed everything about this excursion

Delightful Delphi

Excellent tour of Delphi including its excellent museum. I opted to do lunch on my own and found a wonderful spot in the town of Delphi!

Fun day in Delphi

Ave was wonderful!! Fun and lots of information. We drove through Arachova which was such a cute little town. We had plenty of time in Delphi.

This is a “must do” tour if you want to see the countryside side of Greece.

Great trip to beautiful Delphi. We learned a lot about the history and the significance of the site from our knowledgeable guide, Ave. My only reason for not giving five stars is because the lunch that can be added to the tour was terrible. Very dry chicken and mushy vegetables.

Definitely worth it

Pros: overall a Great tour. Guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely a must see, we did not regret it at all. Cons: we took a long rest stop on the way to add to an already long drive. I didn’t think it was needed.

Relaxing day trip

Relaxing day trip from Athens to Delphi. Our tour guide Jordan was knowledgeable, helpful, and funny throughout the tour. Not much remains of Delphi today, but the museum had many relics and detailed descriptions.

There are better ways to spend one of your days in Athens

Tour guide was knowledgeable and the countryside was beautiful. I was underwhelmed by the Delphi site itself - 2500 years has taken its toll and its mostly crumbled rock and foundations. The tour was surprisingly in English and French, which means I had to listen every other sentence in another language which got old after a while. The Lunch included was awful - suggest you skip it and find your own food during that break.

Pleasant day trip from Athens

The guide was very knowledgeable and communicated in a very pleasant way. The site itself at Delphi was certainly one not to be missed. We opted for the additional lunch which was filling and tasty. Overall a good trip.

Great day!

Our guide was fantastic — extremely knowledgeable and did an excellent job guiding us through the site and museum. I wouldn’t recommend the lunch it wasn’t great but many people stopped in town instead which might have been better

Very special experience

At first I thought this was gonna be a really long day and almost decided not to go. But the journey was very comfortable. I didn’t feel overly tied from the travelling. Amazing guide. So knowledgeable. So passionate. So interesting. The lunch was really tasty. What a wonderful experience. So pleased we booked it.

Fair. Probably would not recommend.

Delphi itself was fine. The batteries in my whisperer box were weak and the guide kept cutting in and out. I had to stand next to him to hear. He had extra batteries but not enough for all the folks who needed them (probably a third or more of the group) and he commented that the company had given him only used batteries. Guide got his feathers ruffled when a family broke from the group-not sure if they were doing their own thing or what but he did not handle it well, reprimanding them publicly. We practically ran through the. Museum. Nowhere near enough time. Was crowded and I wondered if it would be better to leave earlier-maybe 6:30 am to get there before too busy. The stop on the way back was a colossal waste of time and a fairly hard sell from the shop owner.

Wonderful Historic Tour

Seeing the sites, while the Tour Guide provided a vivid historic perspective. The interaction with the group.

Delphi was delightful

Our tour guide was knowledgeable, personable and engaging. She made our tour very enjoyable. Very comfortable transportation.

Too much bus time! Not enough substance!

We liked Delphi when we finally got there. It is way too long a bus ride for the amount of time that you get to stay there, at least for us, 3 1/2 hour bus ride each way to be there for about 2 1/2 hours. We left a glowing review for our trip to the Acropolis, this one not so much. We enjoyed the other trip but our guide had been amazing. The guide on this trip, not so much. She made us feel like she was giving us a quiz, asking questions, like we were being quizzed instead of just giving us the information. We would have liked more Information, and more organization, better instruction, she didn’t hardly talk at all on the bus, we would pass significant structures and not hear a word about them. Then once we got to the site, half the time we were listening to feedback because she was too close to her mike, the other half we we in fear of losing her because she kept changing her mind about the direction she was going and only had a small book to hold up for us to keep track of her. She stated a couple of times that is you lose me just look for me up at the site. Not thrilled. The village of Delphi is truly charming, the ruins are interesting , just not enough for me to advise you to go on this tour.

A good day out.

This was a well organised trip with great historical commentary. It was interesting to visit such a well known place but I was a bit disappointed as various areas within the site were not open. The museum was worth the effort. The scenery was amazing with a bonus stop at a mountain village.

If you liked the Acropolis, you will love Delphi

I’m so glad I chose to take this amazing all day excursion for one of my three days in Athens. The history, mythology, beautiful mountain setting and amazing artifacts recovered here far exceeded my expectations. It is a long 2 1/2 hour drive that includes a restroom stop and the scenery on the way will keep you awake. We had plenty of free time to look around the site on our own after the narrated portion of the tour finished. The tour includes a visit to the museum where the best artifacts are kept. Our group was only 15 people on a large comfortable coach bus. I opted out of the lunch option and I’m glad I did. There are lots of very nice restaurants with beautiful views in the town of Delphi. Be aware that lunch is not until 2 PM so pack accordingly. You will do a lot of walking so wear comfortable shoes and bring water.

Very interesting trip at the "center of the universe"

Whole day and a lot of money for not much of an experience.

Delphi theatre was good, as was getting out of Athens and seeing the mountains. Value for money not good - flaky headset monitors, way too rushed and could have read a brochure about the exhibits we saw. The guide was knowledgable on "Antiquity" and Hellenism in general, but it felt like he was ticking a box - perhaps the size of the tour was too large to really care. Lunch was barely edible - driest piece of chicken i have ever tried to eat. The stops on the way home reeked of commission baseed selling of junk trinkets.

Delphi

Great tour - loved our guide, Rose. She provided appropriate information at each stop. Many groups passed us by, so it was easy to tell we were having a longer tour with more details being provided.

Not good

Although the tour guide spoke English, he was hard to understand. While walking through the ruins, and the museum he didn’t give enough time for people to catch up. He was not very responsive to questions asked by people. The driver while driving was on his mobile phone ( hands free) having loud conversations. Meanwhile the tour guide told couple of tourists upfront that they had to keep their conversations with each other quiet as it was distracting the driver!!! The bus was comfortable and pick up and drop off was on time.

Nice day trip out of the city

This was a comfortable day trip by bus. Our driver handled the winding mountain roads and close quarters through a small town with no trouble. We enjoyed seeing the historical sight but were disappointed that the audio equipment handed out wasn't working. We couldn't hear the guide well and while he brought some spare batteries but not enough and most of the people on the tour still couldn't hear.

Rushed trip

The hearing device was not working and the guide was some time rude and impatient. But we still liked him. It was very rushed.
