Day Tour to Epidaurus Theater & the Site of Mycenae with a walk in Nafplio

OK tour but a large group

An OK tour but a large group (maybe 40 people). Not a lot of time to spend in Nafpilo. Keytours ran this tour and did pick us up but then we waited at their office with many other people before starting the tour. Guide was OK but could have been more personable and interactive with the group.

Excellent Tours

We took the Day Cruise to 3 islands, Epidaurus and Mycenae Day Tour and the Meteora Day tour all from Athens. Truly excellent tours! Can't find any fault in any of the tours. All professionally done. As a suggestion, when visiting Nafplio do not take the lunch option offered by the Tour but spend the little time exploring the quaint village -you can easily get a snack during your walk. However do take the lunch option on the Meteaora Tour as was really delicious. Also maybe Keytours can offer Hotel Pick ups from more hotel locations.

Wonderful memories of Greek legends.

I had an amazing experience on this trip! Our guide (a gentleman with short curly hair, a beard, and sunglasses) was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I mistakenly booked the trip without the entrance tickets, but he went out of his way to help me purchase them online in the buss on the way there. His deep knowledge of Greek history and his engaging storytelling left us with wonderful memories of Greek legends and facts. This trip exceeded my expectations, thanks to our fantastic guide. Highly recommended!

Very knowledgeable but more interesting explanation would be hetter

We got on the tour at the pick up spot but our guide wasn’t the most enthusiastic person. I believe it was not the most interesting way too present the information . it was too much information and the important stuff got lost in the details. Also, I had their food and got really sick. The sites were cool but I would recommend presenting the information in a different way.

The ancient theater had...

The ancient theater had amazing acoustics. The museums were good. The nafplio walk was a little challenging, but the tour guide made it very interesting.

Great trip

Great trip. Highly recommend. Katia was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. Only negative was it would have been nice to spend time in Napflio. So skip the included lunch and explore that pretty city instead.

A great excursion

Great Guide Angeliki !

Hi ! I would just like to say that your tour guide Angeliki who took us to Myceane, Epidaurus & Nafplio last Thursday ( 22.2.2023 - I booked through ADRIANOS TRAVEL ) was very good and dedicated ! She gave us lots of info, had a powerful presence, moved at the right pace, took care of us and also gave us a bit of insight into the current state of a greek life ! Her english is also very good so everything was perfectly clear. I mean that honestly as comoliment without patronzing. Because I am the kind of person who wants to hear and understand everything ( also a bit of damaged hearing ). Lovely and informative trip!

Lovely drive in Mercedes van, beautiful views. Our guide was excellent and keep the history of the sites interesting. I paid for the lunch with my overall ticket and it was also excellent. The restaurant offered grilled anchovies along with salad and dessert. It was a wonderful trip!

Wonderfully educational

Very comfortable tour, the guide was very educated and extremely knowledgeable. It's true that there isn't a whole lot of time at each place for exploring but I felt the time allotted was enough. The lunch option was okay but no choices were given; there are other restaurants extremely close to the drop off location if you'd rather have options in what you eat.

Bronze Age Education

Tour was fun and lots to see. Tour guide was courteous and knowledgeable. Only complaint was that lunch break near the end felt rushed. Our food barely arrived when it was time to go back to the bus.

Good tour with lots to see

Good tour with plenty to see. However I do feel like there was information overload from the Rep. Also as it was a long day a few people had a nap on the bus. She constantly chatted to the driver on the 2 hour journey back and wasn’t quiet

Great guide for an excellent tour

Dimitrios was an excellent guide whose English was admirable and fluent. He provided a thorough and interesting historical context for the sites of our visit, and gave us details that added a lot to my appreciation of what we saw. Lunch was decent, and generous, and the bus comfortable and well handled br George.

Memorable Greek experience

This day trip is memorable, in that you are immersed in the centuries old atmosphere of Epidaurus and Mycenae, an irreplaceable experience. Even more so when a dedicated, knowledgeable tour guide such as Costas is pointing out the most interesting details. The lunch and walk by the sea side in Nafplio were a nice add on to this beautiful day. Thank you, Costas!

Great tour!

Overall we had a very interesting tour with a very completent guide, who really knew a lot about the sites and the local ancient myths and history. We could have used a little more free time at each site and museum, bit since the tour took about 10 hours all in all, we understand why we had to move on. I can 100% recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in ancient greek history. It really is a treat to experience both the ancient greek theater in Epidaurus and the bronzeage-stronghold of Mycenae.

Okay

This is basically just a method of transportation. Some of the information was really good, but we would get to museum's and she just had information about the pots and jewelry. She just talked a lot so if you wanted all the information you wouldn’t get to look around. If you really like ruins you are going to have to break off from the group a lot to see everything.

Excellent value with first rate guide

I couldn't fault this. It's excellent value. The tour was extremely well organized. Best of all, our guide Katerina was exceptional. She has a degree in archaeology and is also highly knowledgeable about greek history and myth. She is also charming . The city of Nafplio is delightful. I would suggest exploring with Key Tours whether it is possible to book your own hotel and stay overnight and continue with the second half of the tour to Epidaurus and return to Athens on the following day.

Great trip!

This was such a fun trip. I went by myself and was worried but there’s so much to do that it’s not a problem. The lunch was basic but really good for the price (salad, chicken and French fries, and then apples with honey for dessert). The sites were amazing and our guide had such good information!

An enjoyable day

I really did enjoy this trip and I thought it was good value for money, as included all entrance fees and lunch (albeit a pretty basic one). The guide was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information with us. I gave the trip a 4, rather than a 5, as I felt we were quite rushed, both at Mycenae and Epidaurus. I would definitely have liked longer to wander around these places independently and take pictures. Overall I would definitely recommend this trip!!

Great tour. Very Legit. More time?

Loved the tour and sights and our guide was very knowledgeable, attentive and fun. I give 5 stars. Could’ve used a bit more time in Mycenae but I was researching so needed more. Some of lunch ok but not great. I had vegetarian option which was better than my family’s but cute local cats hanging out made up for it. Maybe go to that restaurant but order fresh and pay. Great tour.

Lion gate tour

Excellent tour guide and arceaologist who described well in every scene. It might be better to make the beginning of the tour and entering to the buses more organized and smooth from the tour office or selected hotels.

Long tour, not unexpected...

Long tour, not unexpected given distance and sites to be visited, but well worth it. Brand new Mercedes mini bus was comfortable, though leg room was a little cramped. Driver was excellent dealing with traffic. Host was very knowledgeable about sites and Athens/Greek history. Stopped at Corinth Canal for photos and a rest stop then on to the Epidaurus site. Lunch was in Nafplion, a cute little port city. We then went to the Mycenae site, which involves an uphill walk.

Took part in this tour from Athens and it was a great way to spend a day. The sites we visited were amazing and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. I enjoyed the drive to and from our various locations as the scenery in Greece is amazing, so make sure you get a window seat on the bus. I lost my passport and the bus driver, Vasilis, did everything he could to help me out for which I am grateful. Great tour from Key Tours and I would recommend without hesitation.

Excellent day, this trip covers a lot and is well worth the money. The guide was excellent, friendly and very knowledgeable, would definitely recommend this trip.

Too little time at sites

This was a disappointing trip. I came to see Mycenae and Epidauras and we had too little time spent at each place. The tour stopped at the Corinth Canal which deserved no more than 10 minutes for photos, and instead we stayed for 30 minutes to buy souvenirs! We hadn’t been anywhere yet. We had only 30 minutes to walk around Mycenae. 30 minutes to walk around the oldest city on the European mainland! We then stopped at a souvenir shop for 20 minutes. The stop in Naplflio was pointless as it was just a photo stop. No point taking photos of a town you don’t have time to visit. We then only had one hour at Epidauras. Again, far too little time. Simplify the trip, and give us the time to see the sites we have paid to see.

Day tour outside Athens

The tour was well organized, and complements the artifacts seen in the National archaeological museum. Lunch was OK.

A fascinating excursion

The guide on our coach tour was Marianna Tsigaridou, She is extremely well prepared and informative, never seeming to tire throughout the 10 hour duration of the tour. Though generally not a fan of organised tours, Marianna made the excursion one of the highlights of my 10 day trip to Greece.

Great overview of ancient and modern Greece

The guide and driver were very professional and the sites visited were amazing, Well worth the long day of travel to explore the sites of ancient Greece.

Perfect job!

I was with Key Tours on two one-day trips on 16th - 17th April: first day in Korint, Mykini and Epidaurus and second day in Delphi. Both were very well organised inclu pick-up points in Athens. For Epidaurus tour we had a fantastic guide Melina. She did really great job,Melina is very professional concerning the historical sites and as well hearty and humorous. Her speech was always absorbed and she kept the touch with all members of our group cca 10 persons. If I will be a guide, I would do it the same way like Melina:-)

Mycenae

The tour was very well organized. Gemma, our guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable and funny. Ilearned a lot about the history of ancient Greece.

Goed georganiseerde reis met professionele gids. Veel gezien. De chauffeur was wel teveel bezig met zijn privé telefoon (bellen en appen) tijdens het rijden.

Expérience déplorable

Nous avons eu la mauvaise surprise de découvrir le jour de l'excursion que l'horaire indiqué sur le billet n'etait pas le bon alors que nous avions reçu un mail de confirmation la veille indiquant ce même horaire. Nous avons alors appelé la personne en charge de l'excursion (numéro indiqué sur le billet), cette personne a été désagréable et grossière et n'a été d'aucune aide. Nous avons contacté Key Tours (le voyagiste) qui ne nous a pas donné de réponse et nous a renvoyé vers Viator (site de réservation en ligne). Viator était injoignable, et nous avons eu de la peine à trouver un contact, une fois celui-ci établi, l'opérateur nous a dis qu'il reviendrait vers nous ultérieurement. Nous étions disposé à modifier le jour ou à être rembourser. C'est 2 options ont été refusées au motif que le voyagiste nous aurait donné les informations nécessaires. Nous en revenons au même point : la mauvaise foi du voyagiste Key TOURS. La prestation promise par Key tours n'était qu'une proposition malhonnête. Nous vous conseillons d'evitez cette entreprise pour éviter comme nous de perdre 238€

une arnaque à éviter

laisser 12 minutes au client pour profiter du site d'Epidaure est un scandale. Visite de Nauplie non faite et repas juste acceptable, une visite de Mycènes au pas de charge tout ceci pour la modique somme de + de 200 euros pour 2 personnes

Fue un día maravilloso.Nuestro guía Kimon nos hizo la ruta súper productiva.Él es súper amable,servicial, cercano, con mucho conocimientos que nos transmitió que nos llevarámos un buen recuerdo de la excursión.

Parfait!

Nous avons trouvé ce tour génial. La guide Sylvia était passionnante. Ses anecdotes à travers les paysages et durant la visites des lieux étaient vraiment intéressantes. Elle a su parler d'histoire antique et contemporaine, ainsi que de mythologie, le tout en ajoutant une pointe d'humour. Le tour en lui-même nous a parfaitement convenu, les arrêts bien qu'un peu court parfois, notamment à Epidaure, valaient vraiment le coup. Nous avons été impressionnées par la beauté des lieux. Nous recommandons vivement ce tour.

Lindo tour para seguir viendo ruinas

Siendo un tour en inglés me pareció muy clara la guía Katia. Habla despacio y repite las cosas, lo cual me ayudo muchísimo a entender lo que decía. No solo cuenta la historia del lugar sino de Grecia (economía, como moverse, lugares, etc.) lo cual me pareció muy útil. Micenas tiene ruinas bien cuidadas de varios años antes de Cristo y Epidauro, el anfiteatro, es el mejor de los que vi en Grecia. Hice tours a otros lugares y este es el que menos me impactó, lo pondría en último lugar, pero si sobra tiempo y dinero vale la pena. Los tiempos del tour estuvieron bien organizados para conocer los lugares. En el medio dan una hora libre para almorzar, uno puede elegir pagar el menú o dar una vuelta por Nafplio Port. Yo elegí esta segunda opción y valió mucho la pena ver el puerto y la ciudad que lo rodea.

Excursion de groupe

Tous les 22 du groupe unanimes pour soulignet la qualité de cette prestation. Un bus et un chauffeur qui ont permis un trajet agréable. Un circuit très intéressant et très beau, avec l'intervention d'une très grande qualité de la guide Marianna TSIGARIDOU : informations pertinentes amenées avec simplicité au cours du trajet, des références simples pour faire ressurgir des souvenirs scolaires et les remettre en lien et en cohérence sur les sites.
