Good way to finish out your Greece vacation!

Excellent way to end our Greece vacation. Pickup at the cruise terminal for a day exploring the Peloponnese. The ruins at Mycenae were awe inspiring and our driver recommended a very fine seafood restaurant in Naupflion, a town I would come back to. Finished our day with a wine tasting in Nemea. Our driver/guide Val was informative and entertaining, and as a former taxi driver in Athens was able to navigate the afternoon traffic with no problem.

Stress free and informative

We enjoyed our private tour, which was made especially nice by our driver, Vasilis. His excellent driving skills negotiating the fierce traffic in Athens made us feel safe as we left the city. He was friendly and warm from the moment he picked us up at our hotel, to the very end of the day when he returned us to our starting point. Throughout the long day he made sure we were properly hydrated and entertained. Vasilis filled in valuable details of ancient history as we drove and selected well chosen sight-lines and overlooks to best appreciate the terrain and surrounding archeology in the Peloponnese, he also made an excellent recommendation for where to have lunch in Nafplio. He was a wonderful host and a nice person to share our day with.

Michael is an amazing driver. He gave us a lot of useful information and drove safe and efficiently, giving us time to see everything. He also speaks a very good English and we had an interesting conversation during the trip, which was also amazing. I totally recommend this trip, specially to see the Corinth ruins, with its roman road, and the Epidaurus theater, which is mind blowing.

Fabulous full day tour in Greek history

First of all, shout out to our EXCELLENT tour guide, Dem! He was so knowledgeable and made this tour over the top for us! My husband was in heaven just talking with Dem about Greek history (as he studied this is school). Whether you are a Greek history buff or not, this was a great way to spend a day outside of Athens and immerse yourself in the history of the Peloponnese in Corinth, Mycenae, Nafplio and Epidaurus. We started by stopping at the Corinth Canal for pics and then to visit the Archeological Museum of ancient Corinth. From there we made our way to the archeological sites of Mycenae. Afterwards, we headed to enjoy a wonderful late lunch (we like to call “Linner”) in Nafplio and a little time to walk around and this relaxing seaside town. Lastly, we headed to the ancient theatre of Epidaurus. Amazing they still do events at this massive theatre! At this point, sit back and relax for a couple hour drive back to Athens (or chat up Dem for more Greek history if you’re my hubby). Excellent tour, tour guide and tour company! Just book it!

From the pickup at our hotel to drop off, this was a 5 star tour. Demos was so knowledgeable and kind. We had the best time. We added the Olive Oil tat sting to our tour and highly recommend adding. The beehive at Mycenae was amazing. Corinth Canal, beautiful Nafplio and the acoustics at Epidaurus. Just an all around wonderful tour.

A wet tour of the Peloponnese

We had an excellent day, despite heavy rain. Our guide was wonderful. He shared just the right amount of interesting information. He was very flexible and helpful. All of the sights are fascinating and would have been even more beautiful with some sun. This tour is an excellent way to get a taste of the Peloponnese. I strongly recommend it.

Best way to see the Peloponnese

Our guide really made this special with his knowledge of Greek history, and his knowledge of the area, and sites. He was able to help us tailor the day to our needs that day, plus he was able to make suggestions that really enhanced our experience. I would recommend him highly, and we will be back and make a special request for him.r was in April 2022, and he also provided a tour to our friends who booked a tour with him as well.

Peloponnese Highlights: Corinth Canal, Corinth, Mycenae, Nafplio, and Epidaurus?

This was by far one of the best tours we have ever taken. Yannas our driver, and Thenia Iliou our Licensed tourist guide were absolutely the best. We were picked up at 7:30 a.m. and spent a 12 hour day with stops to all the highlights, with Thenia providing comprehensive historical and geographical information (honestly we thought she was a professor) about all the Peloponnese sites. Yannas stopped wherever we wanted to take photos and our Authentic Greek lunch in Nafplio was marvellous! We would highly recommend this tour and Warm Peguin tours to anyone visiting Athens and looking for the best tours of the Peloponnese and other mainland tours. We will be using them again next visit to Athens.

Wonderful tour

We recently had a wonderful tour with Mario. He made our tour to ancient sites in Greece terrific. Our timing was always ahead of the big buses. Mario was a great driver and extremely knowledgeable of the sites and history itself. Even though he is not an official guide of the sites he gave us plenty of information that along with what we knew was just perfect. Lunch was beautiful and tasty swordfish. Just lovely. Highly recommend Mario and Warmpenguin. We will be back.

A fantastic day in the Peloponnese

We had a fantastic trip - our driver Yannis was exactly what we wanted. He was very knowledgable and told us all about the sights and history of the areas and places we visited. He also told us about what life was like in Greece, so we got a great background as well. The beauty of doing a trip this way was that we got to do exactly what we wanted, when we wanted and for as long as we wanted. It was perfect, a great car, a great driver and fabulous locations.

Fantastic trip back in time

If we could give this tour more than five stars, we would, as it ranks among our family’s most memorable experiences during a two-week trip to Greece. Over 12 hours, we took a fascinating trip back into time with stops that highlighted crucial points of Greek and world history. Each location provided a unique take on the region. The tour was a huge hit with our family thanks to the expertise of our driver and guide, Vassili. He was attentive, patient and great company during a day of driving from site to site through the Peloponnese. At each point, he gave us an in-depth preview of the locale with thoughtful perspective on the historical context. Vassili made sure to engage our sons, ages 16 and 11, throughout the tour, making sure they were keeping pace. We can’t recommend this tour enough and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Final days

We enjoyed our trip to the Peloponnese as we had a great safe driver who was very knowledgeable, respectful, and friendly. This Tour enabled us to see many places in Peloponnese in 1 day near the end of our stay in Greece. It enabled us to see some of the sites that we had heard of through our earlier visits to Delphi and the Acropolis. A great tour with a wonderful lunch at Nafplio. Thank you everyone at Warmpenquin.

Beautiful trip through the countryside. Fascinating historical stops. Felt like a trip through time. Definitely recommend climbing to the top of the fort in Nafplio for stunning views.

Expensive but worth it

We were able to cover a large area in just one day. It was definitely worthwhile to pay the extra for a guide who can enter the properties with you.

Absolutely perfect !! Mario was a knowledgeable guide and his commentary about the sights, with perspective on life in Greece today was everything we could have asked for in a guide. Beyond being a safe driver, he responded immediately to our request to add time at some locations and to eliminate a stop. And he made a suggestion about the itinerary that was helpful and allowed us to get a quick feel for a site we would have skipped. We have gone on tours, and also had private guides on occasion in other locations and in Athens. This company was by far, the best.

The Ultimate Day Trip

If this itinerary interests you at all, BOOK IMMEDIATELY. I honestly do not think you could do any better. From start to finish everything exceeded our expectations. During the planning stages, David was a superstar accommodating my many questions and the many changes thrust upon us because of this crazy world in which we are living and the crazy times in which we are attempting to travel. He could not have been more patient, informative, gracious, welcoming and accommodating. In fact, I joked that the actual tour would have to be exceptional to compete with the experience we had with the planning process. Well, exceptional it was. We opted for a guide and the lunch. I encourage you to do the same. The lunch venue - wow! Seaside. Breathtaking. Delicious. A lunch I will not soon forget. As our companions for the day, we had the amazing team of Thenia (guide) and Ellis (driver). Through mostly sunshine, a little traffic, windy roads and some torrential downpours in the dark on the way home, Ellis expertly navigated and ensured our safety and comfort. The van was luxurious and well stocked with bottled water. There were also easily accessible plugs to charge phones. The four of us were able to easily get in and out and he was always right there when we were ready for him. Thenia is extraordinary - knowledgeable, patient and kind. We peppered her with questions from ancient history right up to modern day and she had an answer for them all. She customized the tour to us every step along the way. She has the gift of sharing in such a way that it makes you feel as if you are treasured friend visiting from a far. Her language skills are also incredibly impressive - English just being one from her arsenal. I know she is also fluent in German. I simply cannot say enough about her. We felt very fortunate to have this "A team" for our unforgettable day exploring the Peloponnese. We were sad to say goodbye at the end of the day and I look forward to our return to the Athens area, when hopefully we will meet again for another adventure.

Our guide,Yannis, was excellent! He was so knowledgeable and tailored our tour to match our interests and the level of activity needed to allow my elderly parents to participate. He went above and beyond to make our day as full of sites and information as possible! This was the best tour we had during our 12 day vacation in Greece.

Worth every penny with the best driver

If you can afford this trip it is worth getting a private tour. Our driver for the day was the wonderful Tolis who made the tour the most fantastic experience possible. His knowledge and general chatter was the making of this tour. His driving was exceptional and he waited patiently at each place as we explored. The car was very comfortable. Be aware that vaccination I.D. is required at all sites, it is probably best to print them out and carry around with you, as trying to get information on your phone can be tricky at times. A big thank you to Tolis for a fabulous day.

A great day trip

Excellent trip with driver/guide Terry. He was very knowledgable and also showed videos of the sites before we arrived at them. We were given as much time as we wanted and Terry also recommended a great spot for a quick lunch. The day was full on but we saw everything we hoped to see and a few extra stops suggested by Terry too.

Unforgettable

I would highly recommend this trip! Tolis was our guide when my wife and I visited, and he was an absolute pleasure! He had unique insights about the destinations and got us there quickly and safely with hilarious banter along the way. Fabulous

I believe this was the tour. Due to the fires around Athens, I had to reschedule from the private Delphi tour to this one. I am glad that I did. Yannis was amazing and offered a good amount of historical information during the tour. In addition, Yannis can tailor the tour as needed. Well done and well worth it! I had a fabulous time!

Peloponnese Tour

Our guide Tolos, was amazing. We think another guide would not have made it as fantastic as it was,, this guy doesn't get paid enough. The sites were a dream come through, the time of day for each site was optimal, lunch at Maria's on the ocean was beyond words. We LOVED 😍it. Would surely recommend it to anyone. We should have done it in two days, there was so much to see and do.

Lovely Day Trip with Terrific Guide

This was a fun tour. Unfortunately, several of the sites were closed due to the extreme heat, but our guide rearranged the stops so we could see each site. Yannis, our guide, made the trip extra special. He was very knowledgeable and so friendly and accommodating. Our favorite stops were the Corinth Canal and Nafplio. If you are a huge history buff who wants to linger at each site, this tour may not give you enough time at each stop. For everyone else, it’s a great way to visit quite a few significant places in a day trip. We had five people, and the van was very comfortable. It was also really nice to get out of Athens for the day.

Vasilius gave us maybe the best tour we ever had

Vasilius took us on a twelve hour tour to remember a lifetime. We covered several detinations. He gave us detailed historical information about each one, which enriched the experience. We never felt rushed; he knew exactly how long we should stay at each place, seaside lunch and breaks were relaxed and unhurried. We would go with him again!!

Vasilis brings history to life

This was an incredible experience with Vasilis. A private trip in a very nice vehicle. Full COVID security measures were taken. Vasilis is a fountain of knowledge. He spun tails of Greek history in an understandable way that made the wonderful sights we saw come to life. We felt we had gone back in time. Though the day was packed with historical sites, we never felt rushed. Vasilis knew how much time at each stop was enough. We even had a relaxing lunch by the sea and a stop in a lovely seaside village (Nafplio) to round off the day. Ask for Vasilis. Best tour we ever went on.

Amazing Peloponnese Tour

This is an amazing tour for people who are truly interested in the rich history and breathtaking beauty of Greece. From the modern-day engineering of the Corinth Canal, to the quaint Venetian old town in Nafplio, to the ancient wonders in Mycenae and Epidaurus, everything was perfectly planned out. Our favorite part of the experience was Yannis!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The most knowledgeable and PASSIONATE about Greek history/culture anyone could ever hope for. He is handsome, charming---the best host a country could imagine. He made us feel relaxed, not rushed, at ease, not lost in another culture. He gave us plenty of time to explore on our own; waited patiently when we were a bit late without a cross look. We were so in awe of our surroundings. Because of him, we fell in love with Greece and its people and came to better understand our own place in the world and in history. If we were rich, we would have Yannis guide us ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE. Thank you with all our hearts for this experience. .
