Good way to see things in Athens!

I used the hop on hop off bus, and visited the stadium as well as a couple of museums. I did not have any trouble with using my card. I wasn’t able to use the Acropolis multi site visit due to the change in booking rules, and the time I wanted was unavailable, but overall a good experience.

The ticket was difficult...

The ticket was difficult to use and required getting in several lines to finally access museums. I could never get the pass for the hop on bus but they allowed us to board anyway. Not enough savings for the hassles.

Avoid Athens City Pass through Viator

This pass is offered through a variety of venders both online and in person in Athens. We chose Viator to ensure this was a smooth process, which in the end it was not. We got a voucher from Viator then needed to down load another app where we were suppose to have access to all our passes. What we got instead was QR code that most of the venues had no clue about. We arrived at the acropolis to “skip the line” to find hundreds of other people with the same thing. The pass worked there after having to argue with the gate people. The audio tour then told us we had to of booked it 12 hours in advance, which was no where in any of the information in their app… and that none where available for when we were there. So we paid out of pocket to make that work. The second day of our pass was no better, access to any of the other sites listed in the Athens pass would not let us in… Zeus temple, Ancient Agora turned us away, so we had to buy a regular ticket just to get in. The hop on bus was no better, no idea what the QR code was but they let us on regardless. The irony is we could have just bought a pass at the gate of any of these attractions for 30 euros and saved ourselves the headache of trying to deal with their “customer service” which did nothing to help in anyway. Will definitely reconsider any future bookings with Viator as this was a great way to ruin our holiday.

A real bummer.

I don't recommend this pass. It doesn't include entrance to the Acropolis or most of the other attractions we wanted to visit. It did include the Acropolis Museum but we could not just show our pass and get in. We had to get in another line and they had to print up a separate ticket. We paid $187 U.S. for 2 tickets and ended up spending $60 more to get into the Acropolis and a few other attractions. Don't include a picture of the Parthenon on your ad if it's not included. It wasn't clear. Very disappointing!

Unlimited Pass is limited if your internet is weak.

This whole package is based on how well your phone works with and without internet access. My phone is new Iphone 13, but my internet and phone service is limited, so I could not access the audio portions. Not much fun going to the museum and the acropolis and not hearing anything!! Also the yellow bus doesn't arrive as frequently as the red bus. While we were on it, it was good. They had a plug in audio system, so I could hear about the surrounding sites.

Confusing & hard to get hold of

It was difficult to get hold of the pass. We had to walk across town to find the pick up point for the pass. Then it was complicated to use. Some things on a paper "Skip the Line". Some things on a QR on the phone to be used at least an hour apart. Extremely confusing. Most of the office staff didn't know how the passes worked or how to set them up. My friend could not the load the audio for the Acropolis and mine was very poor quality of information, not really a GUIDE at all. No Audio was available for the Acropolis Museum at all

Save money and entry to most everything

Helpfull and Easy product with free admition to Acropolis , Acropolis Museum , Modern Olympic games stadium Cycladic Museum . We didnt have more time to explore other Mueums . we used the Hop on Hop off buses for all the visit and stops. even Athens is not a big City and this period was not so busy you have to use this pass so to avoid running arount and thinking of where to go. you deffinetely save money

We have wated à bus for 1 hour , it had not cum. Also à person Who was at the agence could not exploin well, so we could not use maximum. Ils à pitty

3day Museums with 3 hop on hop off

Best decision I made. These 3 days museums kept me busy. The hop on hop off bus is the convenient way to get around. Make sure that you go and visit the beach. I was not even able to visit all the museums but it is worth it! Highly recommended… with this buy, you wouldn’t need any other tour! Make sure to visit the Acropolis… My favorite spot is the Monastiraki (Market Place) go to the flea market… T-shirt is 5 euro don’t get fooled by the others who will charge u 10. One store there only charge 5 for r shirts and 20/30 for sweat shirts…. Gyros 2.80 … meat on the stick 1.80 Go to all 3 Acropolis museums…

See History with your own eyes

I've seen pictures of these places but there is nothing like seeing them with your own eyes!. Loved seeing the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, the Greek Agora, etc. Look forward to going back and exploring more.

Not worth the money.

Athens is not at all busy right now so this was a complete waste of money for my daughter (12) who goes free to museums and me (no need for skip the queue). Wouldn’t recommend and only covers a few museums so ended up paying extra to go to the national archeology museum.

GREAT TO HAVE TO SAVE YOU MONEY AND TIME!

Works great, if you do your homework and prep! We mostly bought it for the Acropolis and Acropolis museum, bonus was the Hop of Off Bus (just the cost of these made up for the whole pass!). We emailed ahead to coordinate and had no problems at all. Yes, you will have to get 3 different items; the actual museum pass, the separate acropolis ticket and the Hop on/off pass directly at the at any stop (don't expect to pick up all passes at the Hop on/off stop, they don't have them there!. So I went the day before our scheduled passes were to start at Keytour Office,(originally bought them on-line prior to our trip), the gentlemen explained everything very clearly (even warned us he would do that just so that there were not misunderstanding- which we very much appreciated) then he even activated our pass and gave us our Acropolis ticket (which typically you pick up only when you go that day) but since we were attending next morning, he gave it to us anyway. Thanks! should have gotten his name (curly hair and glasses, spoke good English). Made the use very smooth. Next morning went to the nearest stop by our Hotel,Syntagma square, showed them out museum passes and confirmation, gave us our Bus ticket and No problem- smooth! Only thing I will say has to be explained, the separate Acropolis ticket covers the west hill (Hadrians Library, stoa, agora, etc.) but you have to use on the same day. So also plan for that. Lastly, we didn't plan on attending the many other many museums but im sure if you do, it would be easy to do. Our only mistake, nothing on their part, it was a national holiday so the Dora Stratou dance show was closed all days we were in Athens, we were looking forward to that. Still, would recommend this to anyone staying 3 days or more only and their first time in Athens.

Athens 3-day Museum Pass

It worked generally very well, *especially* to hop on/off buses. But, the logistics of ticket-pickup need to be clearer: Importantly, while Ivis can issue the 3-day Museum pass, only Key Tours can issue the Acropolis ticket (so we had to spend time going to both places). Also be very aware: when they issue the Acropolis ticket, it starts the clock as Day-1. Why is that important...? Well, we went to Key Tours around 4pm to get the Acropolis ticket for the *next* day, so we could be in the earliest entry at the Acropolis (8am), with our tickets in hand. But then, when Key Tours issued the Acropolis ticket, it activated the 3-day pass, and that day was already over. We had to engage in some strong and pointed conversations, and finally the lady in the office made some adjustment in the system, so our Day-1 started the next day as we wanted. It worked out, but be aware that it's a bit tricky.The final thing I'd say is that 3-days is a bit skinny to see all of the places if you are a museum buff. It's fine if you just want to blast through in 30-60mins. And that's all some place warrant. But some other museums (Acropolis, Nat. Archeology, Benaki,Byzantine and Christian) are worth much more time. Then factor in travel time between locations, and you won't fit them all in, in 3-days.

Would not recommend

Our group of three purchased this pass as an option to see the main attractions in Athens during our 3 day stay. It was by far the worst of all the bookings I have ever done through TripAdvisor. First, the voucher gives you 3 locations to pick up your tickets, one of which is the hop on/off bus stop near the Acropolis. This was very near our hotel, so we decided to go there. No one knew how to give us our tickets and they had to make several phone calls to figure out what company managed this pass. Once they figured that out, they told us we had to go to a different location. We were told it would be a 5-10 minute walk— it was 40 (I’m a very active person, this was at a brisk pace). Once we got to the travel agency, we had to wait because the only person working was on the phone. She then printed out receipts for us with QR codes. We were told we had to go back to the hop on/off bus stop to get our actual Acropolis tickets. When we arrived at the Acropolis, the guy told us we had to come back in a half hour because he was OUT OF TICKETS! We went and got lunch and returned an hour later. Our ticket ONLY got us into the Acropolis, we were told we’d have to wait in line and get tickets at all of our other museum stops. At the Acropolis museum the desk personnel were very confused and acted as if they had never seen these types of passes before and we lost even more time waiting for them to figure it out. We lost even more time at the Panathenaic Stadium with the same problem. This pass did not help us skip lines, we ended up waiting longer and losing valuable vacation time. Stay away from this pass!
