Great tour Great tour guide

Wife and I did the ultimate tasting tour direct with Athens Food On Foot, I highly recommend this tour and this company. The guide was great, the stops were mostly very good, Greek super food stop being the sole exception. I would still say try everything be open minded. Very good food tour, great guide. Would recommend the morning tour as opposed to the afternoon tour I took, since it's starting to get really warm.

Great dive into Athens food and food culture!

Wow! We have enjoyed food tours around the world, but we have never had more tastings or a better overview of local food culture. Lefteris and Maria gave us their undivided attention for four hours (!), leading us through Plaka and Monastiraki eatieries we would never have found on our own. We started with local snacks, then beverages, then appetizers, then groceries, then a wonderful taverna, then two different dessert stops. I highly recommend doing this tour as soon as you get to Athens, so you know how to navigate the food scene the rest of your stay. I also recommend the evevning tour - when Athens is at its most lively and beautiful.

Great experience

Fun way to learn about Greece and explore Athens. The food was diverse and amazing. Highly recommend even for picky eaters!

Dinner with friends.

We LOVED it! Ava is now a friend for life! She toured us around as dinner with a close friend. The sights and food were amazing, but spending the evening with Ava and my husband was the best part! I HIGHLY recommend! Thank you!

Not value for money and sadly the tour guide was not truly interested in our group.

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience with Athens food on foot evening tour. We were two couples and another 4 women joined us on this tour. Sadly We all felt exactly the same!! This is not value for money and you are far better to roam the streets yourself and taste what excellent food Athens has to offer. Our guide was not engaged in our group, she would not or could not recommend a restaurant for us to dine at the following night and she’s a food tour guide. When we asked her questions she would answer very condescending. An example of this is my friend asked “what is this wall, it looks very old and quiet significant “ the guide responded it’s just a wall. The very next day we found out it was the wall of the oldest house in Athens!! The tour was so bad that we all agreed to finish it 40min early as we could not find our guide. Not impressive and certainly not what we expected.

Great company and great food!

I highly recommend this food tour over and over again! Yiannis was our guide for the evening and was awesome! Everything went perfectly and the food was amazing! My husband and I would definitely go again if we are ever back in Greece. We did this on our first night there and it was the best choice to get to know Athens and the food!

Fun night in Athens

John was extremely knowledgeable about the food and explained everything that we were eating. He was also very knowledgeable about the area we were walking through on our way from Restaurant to Restaurant.

Great way to start an Athens trip!

fantastic evening tour with Eva- it was our first night in Athens and it was a really good but light touch way of getting moving / walking around after being stuck on a plane, helps you get your Athens bearings as well as taste all the lovely Greek specialities and learn some history/meet some lovely restaurant owners. Our guide was Eva who is an absolute star and lovely person! We had a great, friendly, fun group but Eva’s information, humour and warm energy made it such a highlight for us (my sister and me) in Athens. if you’re up for it you can also take in some nice bars and go Salsa dancing after the tour. great fun thoroughly recommend this tour with Eva!!

What a Blast

We have taken a lot of walking tours but this one with the added food testing and tasting was an unbelievable good time. Our guide Katarina was so knowledgeable and funny we just loved her. The information she gave us was an added bonus as far as I was concerned. The food was outstanding and lots of it. I highly recommend this tour.

Athens Food on Foot tour

The evening tour with our host Katerina was outstanding. Katerina is very enthusiastic and passionate about Athens and Greek food which was delicious and in abundance throughout the tour. Highly recommend.

Costas rocks

Costas was amazing! He did a great job of showing us authentic Greek food while joking with us all the while! We got to meet fun couples and have a really great time eating and drinking through Greece

Incredible way to introduce yourself to the real Plaka in Athens!

I don’t want to ruin the surprises with too many photos but I highly recommend Anna’s Athens Food on Foot tour! It’s an amazing way to experience the culture and cuisine at the same time. I recommend you do it at the start of your trip to Athens as you will see so many things you will want to go back to throughout your trip. Costas was a great guide and took us to so many great places that I almost rolled home!

Amazing evening food tour experience in Athens

I am so glad we spent a couple of days in Athens before visiting the islands. It is a really vibrant city with tons of things to see, and with this food tour you get a local guide to show you around. We tried so much delicious greek food, all fresh and authentic, and we learned many interesting things along the way. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, explaining in detail things about history, modern greek life and greek cuisine. He made sure everybody had a great time. When we had the lukumades (greek donuts) and the food tour was about to end, we were all feeling full and happy. This is probably one of the best experiences we had in Athens. Highly recommended!

Unorganised and disappointing food tour

Unfortunately the tour we received on the night was far from what was outlined in the tour that we chosen. At short notice we were contacted to see if we could change the start the tour earlier.The food was very underwhelming and one of the restaurants for dinner was closed when we arrived. It was dark and our guide was unsure of where to take us. We then we went back to the previous restaurant. It was a disappointing experience given such positive reviews.

Best food tour in Athens!!

We made this amazing tour along with my friends who live abroad and we really loved it! We visited very nice places in the heart of Athens and we tasted delicious greek dishes, while our guide Kostas, who was very happy person and very well informed abt greek traditions and history, was explaining us everything!! When in Athens you should definitely go on this tour!!

We had a very pleasant walk through the city and we tasted a great variety delicious Greek foods! Our guide Costas was very happy friendly and engaging! He showed us the best places to eat and introsuced us to greek authentic foods. Definately the best food tour in Athens! Highly recommended!

Do not do this tour!

This tour is terrible. The food quality and variety is limited. The tour is unorganised and every place you go to eat the restaurant is not ready for you or they don’t know you’re coming. The guide did not know much about Greek foods or any history of Athens. This is a complete waste of time and money.

Disappointed

Hello Anna Thank you for the food tour on Friday night, you took us to places and eateries that we would never have found but you were tired (as were we) and you were disengaged- late and regularly on your phone We enjoyed the food we had but we expected a greater variety of Greek food and maybe in smaller helpings, we’ve already had souvlaki’s and cold meats before. We wanted to sample foods we’ve never tried before so we know what we should have for the rest of our Greece tour The last place we went to was inappropriate for old people like us (although the wine was the best) with its boof boof music and a loud volume. You should have known that and changed the final destination Then you left us there to find our own way to the Main Street to get a taxi, we were shocked and dismayed We paid €110 each and it was not value for money, we have done food tours in other countries and this was the worst and most expensive We will not recommend you

Must do activity!

We had a great time with Katerina on the evening food tour. We were able to try a variety of traditional Greek foods and tour multiple neighborhoods in Athens. Great experience that we would do again!

Amazing group activity!

We booked the evening tasting tour for our business group and it was a hit. Our guide Stavros was really nice and funny and gave us good extra tips about restaurants, cafes, shops etc. Everything we tasted during the tour was good and we learned a lot of facts behind the different things. I can highly recommend this as a team activity for groups if you’re looking for one - sightseeing and dinner combined! Thank you Anna for organizing everything and Stavros for being an amazing guide for our crazy group 😁

Fantastic tour!

Was a great time! Highly recommend this tour, especially at the beginning of your trip if possible. Stavros was our guide and he was so informative and took everything at a relaxed pace as we visited each location sampling different foods and then ending the tour with a shared meal of many dishes. It was a great evening!!

Great Athens, Greece Food tour!

We have done many food tours around the world (as a way to get to know the real city and make the first day enjoyable) and This one was second to none! Great food, a nice walk, lots of history and a knowledgeable and wonderful host, Stavros!

Was excited to go- just mediocre tour

Walking and being able to see lively street life, shops (although no stopping except at a deli like any other in USA) food just ok. Guide very inexperienced. Not much real info and spoke in low voice and while walking individually to only one next to him. Company should pass out cards that tell you snack names hard to figure out when told yo you in Greek and never see written word. Example we had wonderful bread in shape of ring with sesame seeds on it (traditional morning bread) must look up to find out what it was called. Very average tour or maybe jyst our guide and food was not great! Not even a piece of baklava! Had like a donut hole last stop for dessert.

Fantastic!

We had an amazing food tour with “Athens Food on Foot ” with our guide Stavros. We did the Athens Evening Food Tasting tour. Since it was just my husband and I,it felt more like an evening out with a friend. All of the stops along the way were quite yummy. I wish I could remember the names! I tried foods that I normally do not eat and was not disappointed. Our guide Stravros was quite knowledgeable and entertaining. I highly recommend it. I was too busy eating to take photos other than these few.

Wonderful experience. Great food

We actually did a private food tour as it was our first night in Athens after a 25+ hr flight. We met Stavros and started our tour... we were so tired but soon enough we were listening to his every word and exploring the back streets of Athens. We loved all the little places he took us too. a wonderful experience. and I loved that we did it our first night... when we finish our visit to Greece, I took some of the friends we met to some of the places Stavros took us too. We really enjoyed this tour and would recommend to do it at the beginning of your holiday!

City break

Great tour, really good way to find your way in Athens, was taken to local places with fab food and Stavros our guide was full of facts about the food and area. Big thanks for Stavros for waiting for us to arrive as we got a bit lost! Met some lovely people from USA & Oz, definitely worth doing

Great way to get to know a new city

We visited 6 different restaurants and ate some truly amazing food. The tour guide was knowledgeable on food and worked as a food buyer for a local business. He walked us through areas of Athens that we wouldn't have found on our own and of course took us to all the best restaurants to showcase the local food. Foodie tours are always fun and our guide added a lot of history and background to every place we visited. He also helped us get a taxi home which was much appreciated. We had a great time!

Excellent Food Tpurx

My sister in law and I took this tour and loved every minute of it. We ate so much food and were completely stuffed. Our guide Eva was so fun and informative! I highly recommend this tour! It was fabulous!

Food phenomenon!

The food was amazing! Our guide was knowledgeable and so personable! There were only 4 of us and it was an intimate experience of food and fun!

Great food and insight into Athens life

Turned out to be a private tour with just us and Eva, our guide for the evening. Started near the Acropolis with some great , genuine, Greek yoghurt and progressed in a contrived route around much of the old town. Visited a great cafe / shop where we were able to try a variety of meat, cheese and olives, a great place where we went back for coffee and cake the next day. Eva was a great guide giving us a real insight into the life of locals through the pandemic and how things have changed since. Final stop was a for Loukoumades which after a full meal at the previous stop was almost too much. So go hungry ! We had a trip planned to Delphi the following day and the forecast was dire, Eva said she would pray for good weather, we had glorious sunshine whilst there, many thanks :)

Eva and Athens food tour

Eva was totally amazing. Enjoyed walking around Athens with her. Hearing her stories and tasting incredible dishes. I cannot express how much fun this all was! Highly recommend her and this fun tour.

It was expelled

The culinary tour we did with Ava was excellent. Professional and thorough creates a good atmosphere and connects quickly. In my opinion, the experience of the places we visited should be improved. We had an expectation of something more experiential in the field of food.

This was definitely a highlight of my trip to Greece! From the minute I met Eva, I knew the evening would be great! I had such a wonderful evening wandering the streets of Athens, eating amazing food, having a drink with a view of the acropolis, learning about the culture and experiencing it with a tremendously gracious and knowledgeable guide! It was a delightful evening and I'd highly recommend!!

Friendly and fun walking food tour of Athens!

We had a wonderful time with Anna & Eva, they are kind, warm & knowledgeable! They took us to great local places which we probably never would’ve found on our own, sharing information about the neighbors and history. We througy enjoyed walking through the lively and colorful neighborhoods while sampling a variety of traditional Greek food along the way! We did an evening tour, and Anna led us to a wonderful seafood restaurant where we all feasted like Gods & Goddesses, then we walked some more and stopped for a yummy dessert of a classic sweet treat, fresh warm loukoumades!😋

Great local bites and taste of Athens

Anna was awesome and has amazing taste! This was a great tour with a good variety of local food and flavours. We were STUFFED at the end but it was totally worth it. We had amazing yogurt, fantastic filo pies, local cheeses/charcuterie, a huge meal at a local spot and incredible sweets. Pace yourselves, but don’t miss it.

Such a fun way to walk the streets of Athens! Eating and drinking! Something for everyone! Are local bread, dessert, dinner - places that the tour guide goes herself with friends!
