Our guide Mary was very knowledgeable and managed to tell a very engaging and ironic story. The pace of the tour was well-measured to cater for kids and elderly participants.

Great Tour

This was a really good tour. We got given lots of information on the history of the acropolis and Parthenon and the pacing felt right.

Worth the price

The guide was great, very knowledgeable and helpful with taking pics for those in the group. One thing to note, the tour ends at the Acropolis, and that made it perfect to stay up there for a long time, wander alone, and read all of the info posted on plaques.

Great tour of the Acropolis

Our guide was very knowledgeable and fun. She also was considerate of the group finding shady spots to stop and give explanations and take pictures of our group. I would highly recommend this tour.

Our guide Stella is very knowledgeable and took time to explain the history, architecture of the important monuments. We wish we had more opportunities to take nicer pictures.

Wonderful tour of the Acropolis

Our tour guide was extremely knowledged and knew all the interesting spots along the path to the main attraction. It was great getting the extra bits of history to appreciate the whole Acropolis structure and surroundings. I would recommend this tour to friends and family. She knew all the shady spots, too, as it was getting close to midday summer temperatures, which was greatly appreciated!

Sissy is a great guide

Sissy was ver knowledgeable. I’m not a history buff so hearing just the highlights would have been better for me. But having a guide gave me a better perspective of what I was seeing! And the little breaks in the shade helped!

Greek Mythology and History in One Tour!

The tour is well organised. Great location for meet up and our guide Pirounias Sotirios; explained the history and culture clearly. And he also injected some humour during the tour to make it more interesting. Totally enjoyed myself and learned more about the Greek history, culture and mythology.

This was a fantastic tour our guide Dimitris was extremely informative and also very funny everything is so well organised from start to finish make sure to purchase your entrance ticket along with the walking tour as this saves so much time queuing The Acropolis is amazing and well worth a visit

Perfect and Easy Way to Visit Acropolis

Having the opportunity and see Acropolis in person was amazing. This guided tour was a great way to see and learn about Acropolis from local experts. The meeting location was easy to find as well and the check-in process. I cannot remember our guide’s name but she did a great job telling us the history and guiding us around this historic site. If you’re looking for a great and informative tour that will make visiting the Acropolis easy I highly recommend this tour.

The host finished our tour within an hour. He was in a rush to move from one are to another. I wouldn’t recommend the tour.

Amazing tour of Parthenon and Acropolis!

The walking tour was incredible! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and shared a lot of history and detail. She was affiliated with the university and did a great job! Loved the audio situation where each person was given a device and ear buds to listen to the guide. Very helpful as the group couldn’t always stay very close. Wish all tours provided this type of audio guide.

Solid, informative tour

Our guide provided a solid and informative tour. She was knowledgeable about the sites and careful to find us shade on a quite warm day. All was good and then it just kind of ended with no real directions or solid conclusion which is the only reason for not giving 5-stars.

The knowledge and history the tour guide shared was very good. He not only shared the knowledge of the Acropolis but also some history of city buildings.

George was awesome. Very knowledgeable of every detail around the Acropolis. He was engaging, asking questions.... his teacher background shined through! I would definitely recommend George for this tour.

This was a PERFECT...

This was a PERFECT walking tour. the meeting point was easy to find, the registration process at the meeting point was easy, the tour started promptly on time and our local guide was WONDERFUL. He provided much desired info and back story. Overall, just such a positive experience and one that everyone visiting Athens should put on their to do list!

Deep history, stunning connection to our past and VERY HOT

With a deep historical site like the acropolis, so much to learn. We went June 1, it was blazing hot. If I had to choose again, I would choose to do a private tour so that we could engage and move through the ‘stories’ at a pace that made sense for us.

Went @ 5 pm. Avoided the crowds . Tour director was knowledgeable and very pleasant. Enjoyed the tour immensely. A lot of walking up a gradual hill . As a senior I took a walking stick .

Amazing

Tour was fantastic! We had Eva as our guide and she was very insightful! You save a lot of time by purchasing tickets through them and you can see the line of people you were able to skip. I would recommend early morning/afternoon (I went around 10 and it was good).

An enlightening day at the Acropolis

My friend and I really enjoyed our guided tour of the acropolis as our tour guide, Pirounias, was very knowledgeable. He also told us fun facts that helped bring the history to life and lightened the mood. Pirounias answered all the questions put to him and he was very friendly and helpful.

Great Pacing

Tina, our tour guide, was excellent. The pace up to the Parthenon respected different levels of ability. Many stops in the shade. Clear explanations and care answering questions. Highly recommend. Two-hour tour just right amount of time.

The historical details of the Acropolis and the proficiency with which the guide freely offered the information. She provided appropriate context that allowed one to be appreciate historical information.

Great tour would highly recommend.

The depth of knowledge of the history of the Acropolis and the Parthenon that the tour guide shared was impressive. The tour was a wealth of information and highlighted the important contributions that Athens made to the world during that period. One could sense the pride she had in being Greek and what it meant to her.

Disorganized Mess

VERY disorganized we had to wait over an hour with no communication as to what was going on. Not how you would like to spend your vacation. Tour cut short because of delay. Tour guide was delightful not her fault the tickets and process were a complete mess. Not worth the money spent.

Not a good experience

The guide didn’t speak English well & was very hard to understand. It was an English speaking tour! We got frustrated & gave her back headsets & walked around on our own - very disappointed as we usually have good luck with Viator. Very very unhappy!

Don’t miss it

Our guide Vassiliki was great. There was a problem with the tickets so we were 30 min late getting started but the tour was great. Take the earliest slot available would be my recommendation

Our guide was excellent. He was informative, courteous and considerate of everyone's fitness level. He kept to the shade when possible as well. Highly recommend this tour.

Perfect

We took a tour at 8:30 am and it was already in the mid 80F. It gets very hot up there. Our guide was very considerate and calculated the stops in the shades while telling us the history of the ruins. Try to book your visit early to beat the crowds and the scorching heat.

This was a great experience the weather was great so it was lovely to do the tour our tour guide was lovely explaining everything well and showing us lots I would recommend this tour to everyone

Very informative tour. We didn’t have to wait in the incredibly long line to get in. Nice to hear about the history of what we were looking out. Just the right amount of time touring.

Overall great experience!

The acropolis and Parthenon were incredible. Breathtaking, as I thought they would be. Our guide was difficult to follow in the large crowd. It would’ve been helpful if she carried a flag or held her hand up more often. Otherwise, she was very helpful from an information standpoint and provided a very good tour.
