Beautiful setting and Sophia definitely knows what she is talking about when it comes to wine. She had an extensive collection and helped us pick out a perfect wine to enjoy later on our vacation. Great date night in Athens!

Discovering Greece through Wine and Cheese at Acropolis Private Wine Tasting

I had a wonderful time at the Acropolis Private Wine Tasting @ Finewine store with my friends. We were a group of six and our host was Sophia, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. She showed us a great map of Greece and explained the history and characteristics of the wine regions and the cheeses that we paired with the wines. We tried six different wines: three whites, one rosé, and two reds. They were all delicious and unique, and Sophia gave us some tips on how to taste and appreciate them. We learned a lot about Greek wines and culture, and had a lot of fun. The wine store was cozy and inviting, and the location was very convenient. The service was excellent and the price was reasonable. I highly recommend this wine tasting experience to anyone who loves wine and wants to discover more about Greece.

Stellar experience, a jewel in the crown of Athens

Absolutely fantastic experience. Wine was phenomenal, food was scrummy and more than enough for our evening meal. Service was 11/10, they were so informative and helpful. Couldn't do enough for us, or any of the other guests. Would rate highest amongst all of my experiences in Athens, and will be doing this again.

What an incredible experience! The owner of the wine shop Sofia was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, she truly elevated the experience with her detailed explanations and her warm welcome. The 6 wines we tasted were all tailored to our tastes which definitely made this special & the food was tasty & fresh. We truly recommend this wine tasting, you will not be disappointed!

Cute local wine shop with tastings!

Lovely local gem! We were looking for wine to take back to our Airbnb. The woman working in the shop listened to what we liked and let us sample a variety prior to helping purchase a couple bottles.

Wonderful little shop in a very cute neighborhood. The staff was very knowledgeable and informative during our tasting of wines from throughout Greece. Highly recommend.

Amazing Wine Tasting experience!

My friends and I really enjoyed the wine tasting. We tried very good wines selected for our taste. Sofia was kind enough to change the selection to our preferences. Couldn't be better!

Enjoying wine tasting experience under Acropolis!

Sofia was an amazing host. We returned for the wine tasting after purchasing some bottles earlier the same day. She was very helpful with the wine recommendations and her choices were excellent. Great location just under acropolis and many restaurants in the area. Store is located in a less busy street that helps you enjoy the nice atmosphere.

Tasty, educational, and fun!

Sofia presented us with an excellent array of wines from throughout Greece. She gave a fascinating preview of what to expect and asked us for our thoughts. Fine Wine is located on a beautiful little street in Plaka under the shade of a tree, the breeze and atmosphere was awesome. She even serves wonderful treats, a cheeseboard with salami and tomatoes, which are also from around Greece. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Athens!

Lovely and magical experience

A magical experience. My husband and I are still talking about it. We were fashionably late, got caught up enjoying a conversation with a local, and lost track of time. We were still greeted with love. We tasted several wines - whites, reds, and a dessert. We were able to customize how many of what we would like, as well as the order we wished to try them. Our host was sweet and informative, and we loved the story that came with each taste. We got to see a map of each place the grapes are grown and harvested, she answered all of our questions about the wines too. The charcuterie board was delicious and went well with the wines. 10/10 experience! We look forward to one day returning in 2024 or 2025.

Amazing !

My friends and I really enjoyed the wine tasting. The owner of the shop helped us understand where the wines came from and hand picked each based on our age. She was very nice and accommodating to us , we really loved her. We also loved the Crudité board and the view of the beautiful little alleyway we got to sit in. I would definitely recommend and would come back again

Great Wine tasting

First… Greek wine is fantastic! We had a great time and learned about the different regions they grow wine. We enjoyed white to red and a dessert wine. Nine wines, we asked for an extra dessert wine. The charcuterie board was great with all the wines. Very friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend this tour!!

Best experience ever

Best wine tasting ever. Location was awesome, wine was awesome, snacks were awesome and staff was awesome!! Wonderful! Go here and you will not regret it.

Would highly recommend, especially for couples

Great range of 8 wines to taste, all Greek, which are accompanied by deli items (olives, ham, cheese etc) from across Greece. The host does a fantastic job of talking you through everything and explaining the origin and tastes. You’re placed on individual tables, so this is an intimate experience (perfect for couples) rather than a large group tasting with strangers. It’s also on a quiet street with beautiful lighting which makes for a tranquil experience. Would highly recommend.

Highly recommend!

Wonderful experience! The outdoor seating was in a quiet side street with a great breeze. The wines and the food were so good! The pacing was great and Sofia was super knowledgeable as well as very friendly and welcoming. We had a great time and highly recommend it! Bought some delicious wines to take home with us.

The highlight of the trip!

We spent a great evening tasting a variety of very good Greek wines! The place is cozy and the snacks are delicious! Wine selection was really our “cup of wine” and host was superfriendly and well explained the origin of wines and grapes! We loved it! And we went back the next night to just enjoy great wine and relax! Highly recommend!

Best way to treat yourself in Athens.

This was one of my favorite things we did in Athens. The selection of wines was fantastic and they were so nice to accommodate us with a sleeping toddler in tow. This was possibly the most relaxed I was the entire trip. The wines were a great mix of affordable and luxury (we purchased 3 bottles). The tasting takes place in a beautiful quiet stretch of Plaka looking down a gorgeous street. Would highly recommend!

Super!

Het was een geweldige ervaring! Bij aankomst gezegd dat ik geen rode wijn drinker ben. Heeft de vrouw de proeverij aangepast naar 1 rode wijn ipv 2. Bij elke wijn een uitgebreide uitleg gekregen en werd er op een kaart aangewezen vanwaar de wijn afkomstig is. Het was fantastisch en wij komen zeker terug!

La Vinoteca que no te puedes perder en Atenas

Una Vinoteca con muchísimo encanto. La atención es exquisita y la terraza súper acogedora. Fuimos a probar un vino griego, y nos dio a probar, hasta dar con el que más nos gustó. Hemos vuelto casi cada noche porque quedamos enamoradas. Te pone además un pincho para tomar con los vinos. Muy muy recomendable!

Ob man nur ein feines Glas hochwertigen griechischen Weines genießen möchte, oder ein qualitativ hochstehendes Wein-Tasting bucht, der Besuch lohnt sich in jedem Fall! Beim Wein-Tasting erhielten wir feinste Delikatessen (super Käse, feinste Oliven, eine fantastische Salami von Lefkada, etc.) und zu jedem Wein (7 verschiedene Weine werden präsentiert) eine detaillierte Erklärung über Herkunft, Traubensorte und Wein-Ausbau. Ein höchst liebenswerter Ort mit sehr herzlichem, individuellem Service! Ein Besuch lohnt sich.
