The Acropolis was awesome. Learned a lot about the history. The architecture was amazing. It was very interesting how they are restoring it. The view of Athens was fantastic!

Outstanding Tour of Acropolis and Museum with Faye Georgiou!

We were very lucky to have found Faye Georgiou for a private tour of the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. The 4 hours with Faye was a master class offered in the most entertaining and enjoyable way. Following a cruise we found ourselves with only half a day and an evening in Athens. We clearly made the most of our time thanks to Faye. Faye has impeccable credentials and has a true passion for her work. She made us feel special and could not be more helpful. We will definitely return to Athens and engage Faye for additional sightseeing.

Great Tour of the Acropolis!

We had a fabulous tour with Vicky Z. She was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Since we went in the middle of the heat wave, Vicky was also very considerate of how we were feeling and trying to best time the tour. We would definitely do this again!

Walking Tour - Hot but good!

It was very hot, so they canceled the city tour but gave us a refund for that portion. Our guide did a nice job of getting us to the top and telling us all the details along the way. She also had lots to tell us in the Acropolis museum.

Excellent orientation to the history and ancient culture

Tour guide was very knowledgeable, energetic, and friendly. She was patient with some in the group who had difficulty with some of the climbs in the heat. She always tried to find shady spots to tell us historical facts and interesting information. The tour itself was the right length for young and more mature tourist who were acclimating to the climate and trying to take in all the scenery as well.

Beautiful experience

Very organized and kind personel: we forgot to buy tickts for the agora and museum but the were prepeared for this evenince. Vasso was a very nice tour guide who replied kindly to all our questions.

A solid experience in Athens

This was an excellent guided tour. Operators were at the meeting place with ample time to check everyone in. The listening devices (whispers) allow for everyone to listen to the tour guide with ease and without needing to crowd. Our tour guide, Katia Koul was excellent, bringing the ruins to life with the narration in excellent English and hear wealth of knowledge. The pace of the tour is a comfortable one, with time to ask questions without getting too distracted. I recommend doing the Agora also, for a full view of this important spot in history.

Excellent tour guide but silly starting hour

This is the only tour that I found was combining Ancient Argora and Acropolis. My tour guide Sissy was knowledgeable in her domain, I really enjoyed our chat on faminism and philosophy. I find the organisation's set start time being a problem. All tour companies start their tour at the same time at 11am, therefore causing looonngg queues inside the Acropolis from 11 am to 3pm. Why??!! You could have started with Ancient Argora first then head to Acropolis after, or start in the afternoon and finish before sunset. The entire experience of visiting the Acropolis is undermined with the stressful long queue.

Best walking tour experience

Awesome walking tour experience. Our tour guide Alexandria was so knowledgeable sharing Greece history with us, was very interesting. The walk was a good pace too. Would recommend a early morning tour as it gets hot in the afternoon.

Athens is a must see!

The tour in Athens was great....so many historical sites to see. Our tour guide (Sissy) was so knowledgeable and patient and a pleasure to be with.

Eye opening Acropolis walking tour

This was a great tour. The guide made it come alive. Magda Kareli was her name. She had enormous passion and very deep knowledge of the link between the mythology and the culture. She connected all the dots. She related directly to every one of our 16 very different participants. She was really hands-on and shepherded us through the crowds into the right places. I have walked the same ground without a guide. It’s like walking around in the dark. Magda really turned on the lights! I’m so glad I went with them. It was a great value.

This was fantastic! We did the Ancient Agora and Agora Museum part. A small group, our guide Vicky Z was very knowledgeable, lively, informative, and fun! The tour went by so fast, that even in the scorching heat I wanted to do it again!

5 Star Walking Tour with Artemis Olympidou

My sister and I had the most wonderful experience on the acropolis and museum walking tour with Artemis Olympidou. We learnt SO much, it would have been an entirely different experience going on our own. I would say it’s a necessity going with a tour guide. Artemis was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Greek culture and history, and made the tour so much fun. 100% recommend!

Athens Acropolis and Ancient Agora

Helen our guide was excellent. The information she holds in her head is amazing and she imparts her knowledge with enthusiasm and pride. We did the Ancient Agora with Helen as well as thoroughly enjoyed the experience. A most worthwhile tour.

Very Informative

This tour was very informative, and we got much more out of our visit to the Acropolis and ancient Agora than we ever could have on our own. Our guide, Amaryllis, was extremely knowledgeable, and the historical context and sociological insights that she shared allowed us to gain a much deeper appreciation of what we were seeing. I do not recommend visiting these sites without a guide.

A lovely tour

We had an excellent tour delivered by two very engaging guides. It was a great way to see all the main attractions and learn about the history of the city. The tour was organised in a very good way. The guides could also answer our questions very well.

Learning and having fun in the sun

We took the tour of The Acropolis and Agora with the fabulous Eli. She was so passionate about the history and legends of ancient Greece and willing to answer all and any questions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

Great way to learn Greek history

This tour was actually two tours back to back. Our guide for the first half was Eleanor. She was an excellent guide and very informative. We watched the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier, walked through the National Gardens and finished up at Zeus Garden. It was a very pleasant tour with lots of interesting bits of information. The second tour was with Ioanna who is an Archaeologist. We toured the Acropolis and the Agora grounds and museum. It was cold and incredibly windy at the top, but still very interesting. Please note - this is quite a hike up and quite a few steps up on slick marble stairs. Some steps are tall. Wear sturdy shoes with soles that grip well. All the steps you walk on are the original stairs placed there 2,500 years ago. Both tours are worth the time and effort.

Awesome tour with Annie

We had an amazing tour with Annie, who was a professional, knowledgeable and very friendly guide. We would highly recommend a tour with her! We did the Acropolis of Athens, Ancient Agora and the Agora Museum Tour which gave us a great overview of the history of ancient Greece. We were able to ask many questions about Modern Greece as well. We had a great time!

Amazing Acropolis

Sissy was our guide and she was exceptional. She brought to life the story of the Acropolis and what it was like in the days when it was being built. This tour gives you plenty of time to do the photography necessary to capture the beauty of this amazing place.

Excellent Tour! Excellent Guide!

Our guide, Eli, was fantastic. She brought ancient history to life for us, showing us the most important sites at the Acropolis and explaining the historical significance in a relevant way. We took the tour to the Ancient Agora afterwards and we both agree it was one of the highlights of our whole trip to Greece. Eli really helped us grasp how ancient Greece functioned as a city state and how their contributions have trickled down through Western Civilization to affect our daily lives. It was a fantastic tour.

great tour under heat wave

The guide was very very informative and one can see that she is very enthusiastic. Even though it was a very hot day (there was a heat wave), she was always smiling and approachable, she tried to put us always under shades of trees (even though it seems impossible). It was a short, sporty, tour. Wear comfortable shoes, or better hiking shoes. Bring cold water, umbrella or a hat.

Daphne is a very pleasant and knowledgeable guide, she strive to make use of your imagination to view all ruins with the eye of the past. visit is very informative with good pace.

À fantastic visit of Athens Acropolis

Despina has organised a splendid tour of Athens acropolis for us at the end of July 2020. 2 families with young kids ranging from 9 to 23. Despite our early 8:30am start the temperature was already creeping up and her careful stops in the shade with stories of the acropolis but also about Greece an Athens have been a real success managing to keep the attention of all. A real pleasure. François

Excellent OverView of the Acropolis and it’s History

Our tour guide was Eli. She was excellent. Very informative, enthusiastic and full of energy... we loved every minute of this tour. We went to the museum as well. The walk up to the Acropolis had many stops filled with historical information. Not to be missed!

Strongly recommended

I booked the tour the second time. Meeting point was like last year at the Fresko Yoghurt bar right below the acropolis. Entry fees are not includet so I had to pay there ... a know fact. Perfect choice for me, because they had as well the 5-day-save ticket including acropolic, ancient agora, roman agora, hadrians library, Keramikos in stock, so I could buy this ticket. Out tour guide was Hermes. He was very well informed, a great story teller, aswered our questions and was very caretaking. The acrocpolis and the agora are a must see. We had a great time and there was plenty of time for taking pictures and enjoying the great views. All in all I whould strongly recommend to take this tour. If you have time only for one tour - this is the right choice. And afterwards you should visit the new arcopolis museum. Don't forget to take with you enough water. Comfortable sport shoes are strongly recommended and mind your steps at the acropolis ... the stones are quite slippery.

Acropolis Tour

This is definitely a walking tour, so make sure to wear your tennis shoes or comfortable shoes. The time on viator was wrong, so we missed our tour but they were able to offer us a different tour to make up for it. Our guide was good but she rambled quite often about the same thing multiple times. Overall, not my most favorite tour we have done on this trip, but I still would recommend doing it.

Very informative tour

This tour was great, my wife and I did the tour in May and it was not to hot so we enjoyed it very much. The guide that we had was great she had a lot of knowledge and was easy to speak to. Her English was really good and she always looked for shade while explaining things. I recommend the tour to all who visit Athens so they can get a thorough understanding of the Acropolis and all the buildings.

Informative and Entertaining!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Acropolis and the ancient Agora. Thanassis, our guide, was very knowledgeable and entertaining as he explained ancient Greek life and its impacts on us now. He obviously loves Greece and is delighted to share with folks the splendors of Athens. I would recommend this tour.

Well paced, informative

We took this tour with Dorina. She was informative, professional and always aware of the safety and comfort of the group. We went up to the Acropolis on a very hot day and she stopped frequently along the way in the shade for people to keep catch their breath. The information was clear and interesting. I would recommend this tour.

Awesome, knowledgeable tour guide

Evita Tsioli was our guide. Her background is in archaeology and she was incredibly knowledgeable. She is kind and took good care of us, especially in the 38C/100F degree weather. I really enjoyed the stories and connections between modern and Ancient Greek and the meaning behind the myths. She’s wonderful!

Ancient Agora is a better place to see an ancient greek temple up close

The Acropolis is the most famous but not well preserved. Plus you cannot get up close. The better preserved similar temple is in the Ancient Agora within walking distance of the Acropolis in the Ancient Agora complex where you get really close to the structure and it is remarkably well preserved.

They cancelled last minute

Extremely disappointed with the cancellation of our tour on the day without prior knowledge, we were offered an alternative however it disrupted our schedule and we had to make a quick decision at the meeting point without having the opportunity to research if that’s going to be a suitable substitute, even though they had our contact details they waited until the meet up to notify us of the change. not to mention we then had to rebook our original tour as it is something we wanted to do. The actual tour we were given was good, we had two different guides for different sections, one guide much better than the other, you could see that one had a true love for history but both were good. The true disappointment was the change and I get it’s probably in their ts&cs I just don’t think it’s fair to change plans on tourists with limited time because they didn’t get the numbers, and I think 2 people would have been sufficient for a small tour in the middle of Athens anyway.

The views from the Parthenon were stunning and we were lucky with the crowds and weather. Beautiful place. Loved the Agora too, without Angeliki's explanations, we wouldn't know the significance of the various ruins. It was lovely. The Agora museum was closed for renovations though, which was a pity. We went up to the temple of Hephaestus too. Good tour.</p>
