I had Lydia as a tour guide. She was very thorough and knowledgeable and was willing to help take photos and answer questions. She was great and I’d definitely recommend the service.

Our tour was excellent. Our tour guide Margaret was great! She was very knowledgeable, easy to follow and understand, and aware of our comfort needs throughout the tour (i.e.restrooms, shade, areas to rest our feet) Highly recommended !!

An excellent tour of the Acropolis, Parthenon and Museum

Amazing tour of the Acropolis, Parthenon and museum. Our tour guide Christoph was fabulous!! Book first in the morning to avoid over crowding and the heat. Even at 8am there were lines and temps already in the high 80's.

Amazing tour of the Acropolis

Ermis was wonderful. He is so knowledgeable (gave us a great tour with so much information and answered every question we had about Greek history). And he was delightful to be with - fun and a good sense of humor while also watching out for our safety while climbing to the top. Highly recommend!

Important tour to make in Athens

It was an important tour to make in Athens: it was very informative and our guide (Alina) was very nice and she knew very much of the history and archeology of the area.

Great acropolis experience

Book it - well worth it!

Highly recommend. Magda was both fun and informative. She made the stories of Greek mythology and ancient Athens come alive and we would never have had the same experience without her as a guide. Plus - even though it was really hot, she made it more comfortable for us by finding shade and ways to maneuver around all the people.

Great excursion!

It was a very educational and interesting tour. Our tour guide, “The Safari Guy” was very knowledgeable and did not rush us. He allowed us to stop several times to rest in the shade as it was very hot there. We learned a lot that we would not have known had we gone on our own.

The Acropolis was amazing. The tour was a bit long but we enjoyed it. There was a lot to see. We went through the museum and that was interesting as well.

Horrible experience. This...

Horrible experience. This was unsafe as evidenced by 3 ppl getting severely ill , one needing emergency medical care, a few leaving less than half way through and all being very disappointed with the insensitivity of the guide. This tour never should have taken place. The Acropolis was shut down by noon. This tour was 9-11. The health and safety of the participants should have been a priority!! We strongly believe this tour should have been canceled!

Our tour guide, Katalina,...

Our tour guide, Katalina, was absolutely excellent. She brought history to life and kept our attention the entire time. Her talk made Greek history relevant to our every day life, even as Americans. We are so grateful for this experience. It was very hot but she was very aware of our needs for shade and rest and we barely noticed the heat. Thank you Athens Walks and Katalina!

Acropolis wouldn’t have been the same without this tour.

Take This Tour!

This was a great tour! I chose the 9am time slot. Our guide's name was Katerina (not sure if I spelled that right). She was absolutely amazing!!! She has so much great knowledge she shared with us about the history of Greece and the acropolis and Parthenon. She was always making sure we were ok and following along. Her personality was great. The tour itself was about 3.5-4 hours. We chose the option to go into the museum - which I am SO SO happy I did. The views from the top of the acropolis were immaculate and the Parthenon and other structures up there are so beautiful to look at - truly amazing. It was a small group of about 20 people which was nice. I would definitely recommend this tour!! My boyfriend and I were very pleased with it.

Yiota, The Excepetional tour guide.

Yiota was phenomenal. She was so knowledgeable and answered all our questions. She ensured that we all had a hat and water and we were all in the shade when she was telling us the history. Excepetional tour guide.

Great experience.

The history of the Acropolis and the beautiful views. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. The weather was very hot but we were able to rest on occasion in the shade. The museum was fantastic.

Enjoyed it but could have been better

Tour and guide were good however the communication system stopped working so we were unable to hear especially once we were at the top where it was very busy. She tried her best to gather us together but it was difficult. She called the office to let them know we needed to change out our devices and they didn’t help. Blamed it on the heat. It appeared no other tours from same company had any issues. Disappointed that we spent the money and didn’t get full experience. No fault of our guide.

Acropolis Tour

We loved the descriptions of the first hospital and theater on the slopes of the Acropolis. Amazing. Our guide did a fabulous job bringing this all to life for our group, on a very hot day. We liked the new Acropolis museum with its artifacts, but wish the line for that moved a bit faster. Not the tour guide’s fault. Fabulous experience overall.

Popular Tour at Can't Miss Attraction

I'd definitely recommend a tour to the Acropolis as we wouldn't have known what we were looking at otherwise. They assign you to a tour group based on when you show up and sent about 5 tour groups out while we were there. It was pretty quick and efficient. Bring a water bottle!! and consider going on an evening tour or as early in the morning as you can. The tour guide was very nice, but somewhat difficult to hear through the audio sets. I wish I'd brought my own headphones to plug into the system. We also went on the extended tour to the museum. There were SO many tour groups at the museum - expect it to be kind of hectic.

Amazing

Seeing the Parthenon and Acropolis for the first time took my breath away. Our guide, Dorina, brought to life the history and stories of this remarkable wonder of the world. The museum is amazing, especially the life size replica of the Parthenon with original and casted marble statues, columns, pediments and friezes. There is an interactive children’s section and a Lego model of the Acropolis as well which is delightful! I loved this experience and highly recommend you not miss the tour of both the Acropolis and the museum.

Our tour guide Zeta was amazing . Her knowledge was incredible. She brought it all to life. She paced the tour exceptionally well as it was a very hot day.

Learning about the Acropolis

We had a lovely and very knowledgeable experience with our tour guide, Margaret. It was very interesting to learn about all the sites at the Acropolis. The Parthenon was definitely one of the most beautiful places to see.

This tour was the crown jewel of our Greece trip. Our guide was very knowledgeable and welcomed questions. She walked us through every important stop on our ascent to the Acropolis and then provided even more color in the museum. I very highly recommend this tour.

An informative and interesting tour of one of the ancient world’s most important sites.

Our guide was excellent! She told the story of the Acropolis and its amazing buildings in a clear and interesting way, without the distracting corny jokes that some guides use. Her knowledge of history and architecture made the tour fascinating!

A well-guided journey through the history of the acropolis

Katherina was essential to our experience of the acropolis: enthusiasm, charm, intelligence, knowledge and she created context for what we were experiencing, timeline, culture, invasions, as well as a sense of the atmosphere of developing civilization, the roots of our own, EuroAmerican culture - its strongest, most important elements/ medicine, philosophy, theater, democracy, art. I wonder what part Elysian Mysteries played in this astonishing accomplishment.

Great Experience

Very experienced and knowledgeable guide. The weather was dry but super hot. Best to go in the evening if not the early morning. Crowds were heavy in the morning but still enjoyed the experience.

Wonderful Experience

Our guide Zeta was fantastic! Her knowledge of the history was outstanding! Her English was excellent. One of the few guides we have had that made sure everyone was comfortable with her walking speed and we. Felt like she was taking care of us. Thank you Zeta!

Great tour, lots of walking

Incredible experience, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. This tour was pretty long and lots of walking, especially if you do the museum, so do the early one to beat the heat. Bring an umbrella or hat!

The Acropolis with Dorina

A tour with Dorina Katsadoraki is the delux experience. She is knowledgeable about the history and the myths and brings energy and humor to the tour. She was kind to all the members of the group. We got very much more than those just walking around. The tour lasted 4 hrs and I was sorry to have over. Five stars and a big tip.

Great guide, in June hot and crowded (but oh well)

Other than some technical difficulties (Whisper audio devices kept going in and out) attributed to the hot weather, our tour guide Happy was great. It’s a long tour, 4+ hours (if you add the Acropolis Museum), but well worth it. As an aside, the restaurant in the Acropolis Museum is amazing. We took an early tour (8:30a) with a mandatory 8:15a arrival. We didn’t arrive then but arrived at 8:45a. No problem though, Athen Walks has so many groups going out, they’ll put you into the next group. Note: getting a taxi between 7-10a was difficult, hence our tardiness to the tour.

Excellent tour guide!

Our tour guide was fabulous!! She was fun, sweet, conscientious of everybody who was with her, not just those walking directly next to her. She was great at finding shade or keeping her info concise when we were directly in the sun. And you could tell how much she loved what she was talking about which made it all the more interesting for us who were on the tour!

Great history lesson

Our guide Stavroula was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour covered everything that I wanted to see and learn about. The only negative was the crowds which were out of her control. I highly recommend this tour.

Our magical experience

Just seeing the Parthenon from a distance was incredible. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and kept us captivated at all times. She made our visit most enjoyable.

Amazing experience

We had an amazing day. Our guide was Dimos and he was an absolute star. We couldn't have asked for more, very knowledgeable and also fun. Myself and my 11 year old son went on the tour of the Acropolis, we both thoroughly enjoyed it. If you are looking for a guide I would definitely recommend.

Outstanding Guide and Archeological Sites!

Our Guide, Sophia (Tavouti M. Sapho) provided an outstanding walking tour of the Acropolis and Parthenon. Sophia answered our questions thoughtfully and provided a great wealth of historical detail which continued when we entered the Acropolis Museum for an extended tour. We were able to discuss artwork repatriation and the technicalities therein. We all wore our Whisper Tour Guide Systems so we didn’t miss any of Sophie’s commentary. Attentive walking upon rough surfaces and many stairs didn’t stop my ascent as the tour was well worth my knee discomfort. We were in a comfortable sized group of 15 and were able to stay together amid many other tour groups. Great Guide, amazing archeological sites, great weather and beautiful museum made for an outstanding day!

Great experience - so helpful to have a guide to navigate the Parthenon and museum…highlights were pointed out. Learned a lot and thankful we did a tour instead of wandering around aimlessly!

Wonderful tour with Angela

We toured with Angela from 8-10am and so glad we did! The sun, heat and crowd intensified as time went on, and we were glad we chose the earlier tour. Angela was bubbly, personable, had a great sense of humor, and encouraged our curiosity. She offered a perfect balance of history with storytelling, never overwhelming us with facts. It was quite a hike to the top, but we went slow and stopped in shaded areas. It was not an accessible tour for those not able-bodied, so be sure to take that into consideration before booking. The headsets had adjustable volume and the headphone (one ear only) were ours to keep afterwards, which was appreciated/felt sanitary. Overall this was a wonderful tour and a must-do when you’re in Athens. Pack water, bring sun protection, wear comfortable shoes, and grab a fan on your way there!
