What a memorable tour - visited Corynth, Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia, Delphi, and Meteora - all are great must see places. Our tour guide was kind, sincere, knowledgeable and a passionate story teller. The bus was great, we stayed in great hotel, great delicious dinner and breakfast. Highly recommended.

Excellent trip through Pelopponnesus!

This four day trip starts off with a quick stop at the Corinth Canal, which actually has a market, toilets and souvenirs available. Then, onto the Theater of Epidaurus, with a guided visit through the museum. Then, we make a lunch stop at the quaint seaside town of Nafplion. Lastly, we continue on to Mycenae to see the Tomb of Agamemnon with another guided tour through the museum. Day 2 offers a full day at Olympia with your guide learning about the site of the original greek olympics, and another onsite museum with cafe and gift shop. Then, we cross the Rion-Antrion Bridge and make a pit stop for toilets and snacks. Day 3 is another full day at Delphi, with museum, natural spring and Temple of Apollo. Some members of your group will only be on a 3 day tour and they will depart the tour after lunch. Then, members of another 2 day group will join your group and as you will now have an entirely full bus, and you will all go to Kalambaka to see the Meteora monasteries for the last day. Our guide Marianna was wonderful! She was well organized, calm, knowledgeable, friendly and caring. She knew so much about every place we went to. She said she'd been guiding for 30 years! This tour is a great way to get away from the city and see more of Greece!

Amazing tour! Great bang for its buck!

The ruins to include Olympia and Delphi were amazing. My tour guide was so knowledgeable. The lodging was great and the meals were delicious. Highly recommend.

Great tour for Ancient Greek history

Our guide Marianna was excellent, she is very knowledgeable about all of the sites and Greek history overall. She was very patient and respectful of all guests. The sites we visited were exceptional and much better than I anticipated.

Our guide Angeliki and driver Lucas were amazing! I would recommend this tour to anyone that is interested in learning more about the rich history of Greece. We chose the 3 star hotel option, the first and last hotel were fine but the second hotel in Delphi was in desperate need of some maintenance and deep cleaning though.

Great Way to Explore but needs much improvement

This is a review for the 4 day Classical Greek Tour- I enjoyed my time overall with the group and think that this is good selection for the cost. But there were many missteps that they need to change: 1. The Hotel in Delphi was terrible. I did the tourist class, but this was subpar. The food, the room. The location was great. They also need to let people know that only the tourist class stayers get to be in the town to walk around and shop (those who had the resort option had to stay remote). 2. Gaining 30 more people after our visit in Delphi was chaotic and I feel bad for those who had to shift mid-trip. It also put a little distance between everyone personally. 3. The stops at the Corinth canal and Naupalia were way too short. We didn't even have time to just go to the bathroom nevermind visit the site. 4. Due to the government, bathrooms onboard the bus cannot be used so we made other stops. 5. The stop in Thermophylae is worthless. You see a statue and don't even have time to see the other one, read the inscription or view the territory where the battle occurred. 6. Information should be given BEFORE the trip about the monasteries' dress code. Luckily, I knew but still was not all that prepared since 'trousers' was not understood - you just need to cover your arms and legs (men don't have to in the women's monastery). I really enjoyed "angela" and "john" (Αγγελική and Γιάννης)! Very knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly.

Beautiful places to visit in Greece! Best tour!

Absolutely wonderful. Marianna and Lucas made this trip so enjoyable. Marianna was a wealth of information and history. She made our tour come alive. She took such wonderful care of us. We saw so many beautiful places that we could never have done on our own. The accommodations were so nice as well. Lucas - our driver- was the best! Thank you for all that you did to make sure we got to our destinations safely and taking care of our luggage. What a way to end our time in Greece. Highly recommend this trip to see so much more than Athens!.

Amazing historical sites

Every place we visited during a four days trip is just amazing. The option of higher priced hotels is worth it.

Fun tour, we saw and learned a lot!

It was a very good tour, we saw a lot. Hotels were very nice in Olympia and Meteora. We did not like the hotel in Delphi, small bed, terrible mattress, the bottom sheet was put directly on the mattress (no mattress protector) which didn't seem hygienic. Wifi on bus was bad-- unreliable, inconsistent. Our first and last day, we were joined by other groups coming for a one or two day trip. That was unexpected and made the bus crowded. Our core group was very nice and we enjoyed getting to know them. Our guide Dozia was adequate, she didn't encourage questions, and always faced forward when she was talking to us on the bus. She was knowledgeable though. I would have enjoyed a guide that interacted with us more, and made it easier to ask questions. Maybe the highly rated Marianna could provide coaching and training

Meteora was spectacular. However, would have enjoyed more if we could stop at certain strategic points for taking in the views and take some more pictures.

Superb trip

Excellent trip I had in my maiden trip in Greece coz of a fantastic tour guide Youli who is so knowledgeable and dedicated in bring the best for this trip. We definitely benefited a lot more understanding the culture and history of Greece. The T class hotels are basic but met our needs.

A lovely and memorable trip

Meeting people from around the world. Seeing and experiencing the historic sites with an expert. Having the time to be a part of a village and good food. Our guide Dorcia was amazing and friendly as well as very knowledgeable. She answered the most esoteric questions about laconia. She would explain places we drove through and made the bus ride easier with commentary.

Excellent guide, efficient way to see major sites

This tour is a good way to see some of the major UNESCO World Heritage sites in Greece without renting a car. Our guide, Marianna, was terrific: intelligent, extremely knowledgeable about archaeology, history, culture...she kept us on time and on track. The bus driver was very good as well, and the bus was comfortable despite the long hours needed to cover so much territory. I can't imagine how we would have been able to visit Meteora otherwise. We were given several hours at both Olympia and Delphi, less time at Epidaurus and Mycenae. Be aware that you're making a compromise: you have no control over your time and no choice of hotels or food, and you will be staying and dining in establishments that cater to group tours. I normally would not stay in those hotels or eat at those restaurants, but that was the trade-off for expediency. The schedule is tight so don't expect to see the entire site at Epidaurus or Mycenae or have time to linger in the excellent museums. On the other hand, you will be able to see an amazing overview of Greece's cultural heritage, some major antiquities and some wonderful landscapes along the way.

What a Team we Had!

An amazing experience! Your experience depends on your guide and our Marianna had encyclopedic knowledge with a sense of humor. To get us through it all, was our ever confident and skilled driver, Thomas. As a Greek American, this wonderful experience reinforced our pride in our culture and country.

It was worth it!

Our guide Evan(sp?) was amazing! We really felt like he took care of all our needs and was happy to do so. He even went over and above in helping us resolve our predicament. And I love the Greek mythologies he included, it made the statues and historical sites much more interesting. He really knew his stuff.We learned a lot on this trip! However, a few of the hotel choices could use an improvement.

This tour is a MUST do thing in life

Key tours driver Zacharia and tour guide Angela were excellent. Angela answered all our answers and we enjoyed her narration. She took good care of us. The itenary was enjoyable. We were wowed by the beauty of all the places we visited. Would recommend it to everyone.

Beware: Misleading Group Sizes

We are currently on the last day of this tour. We booked this 4 day tour directly with Key Tours in March 2022. At that time (and still currently posted on their website) they specified a maximum of 26 on the tour. We booked their tour because of this low maximum. We started the tour with 20 guests. On the second day we were told that 20 more guests would be joining us on the third day. As it turned out, 19 others joined the tour after lunch to pack the bus giving a total of 39. We no longer felt safe on the bus and reached out to Key Tours to request a refund for the 1.5 days when they exceeded their advertised maximum. Their speedy reply was: “I am sorry for this. The information about max 26 people, is from when the we had this restriction because of Covid-19. This restriction is not valid any more. By mistake this information was note updated in our website.” We believe that Key Tours should have notified us of the increase in group size and given us the option to cancel. Or, they could have advertised that the group number was subject to change due to COVID protocols. They did neither. We paid for a four day tour with a maximum of 26. Key Tours failed to deliver the product we purchased. Beware!!!

4-day excursion to Greek history and mythology

Awesome 4-day excursion through mainland Greece straight into the local history and mythology with our super knowledgeable and passionate guide Anna and expert driver Zacharias. We think the 4-day tour is the best option because that gives a broader view of the historical and mythological places, events and people - expertly woven together by Anna. Our favourite site was Olympia where we had an opportunity to run at the ancient Stadium and “fight” at the Palaestra. Everything great. Five stars! Big thanks!

Wow! What an amazing experience we had in Greece with Marianna as our guide. We learned so much with the tours and had time to eat well and enjoy some shopping and down time. There's no way I could have done this trip cheaper on my own and we sediment would have missed out on the historical information.

Couldn’t recommend more. We got a more complete picture and feel for Greece and experienced so much history. Met wonderful people too! Our guide Anastasia was such a great host who was so knowledgeable and did small touches to make it special for us and Nicolas our driver was a level above.

4 days of history to remember

Good 4 day trip of Pelopponese

Well planned and executed. Christina, our guide from Keytours was excellent - very knowledgeable and passionate about her job. Her descriptions about the sites and their history were very good. Booking experience was very good.

Factor this trip into your itinerary

There was a lot of travelling with this tour but it was still much better than travelling to each site separately from Athens, and there were plenty of short comfort stops as well as a lunch break each day. Breakfast and dinner were included and we found the quality of the food to range from acceptable to very good. The accommodation, each night was excellent. We opted for the four-star version but, with hindsight, we weren't really at the hotels long enough to make use of the excellent facilities - arriving at each at between 6:00 and 7:30 each evening. However, this was in April so there would likely be more opportunity during the summer months when the sun sets much later. Each of the sites are well worth visiting in their own right. The theatre at Epidaurus is exceptionally well preserved and the accoustics incredible, and the views at Delphi and Meteora are spectacular. Our guide, Christina, was very knowledgeable and we learned a great deal about how to archaic and classical artefacts, and how to tell the difference, as well the reasons some sites are better preserved than others and so many other things about the history of each site and of Greece as a whole. Our chosen time of year meant that we had the good fortune to be part of a very small group, who gelled well to enhance the experience. I would recommend this trip without hesitation.

It’s a must-go trip in Greece

It is a must-go trip in Greece. It brings you back to Ancient Greece. Mycenae and Delphi are my favorite! Mariana our tour guy is the best! Very knowledgeable and fun to be with. Our group became good friends after the trip. Our driver, is so skillful! The hotel we stayed were all very nice too! Highly recommend!

Greece vacation

So much to learn

This was our first visit to Greece and we wanted to see many places over a few days. This was an excellent tour. Our group began as a group of 6 which was brilliant, and 21 for the last two days. Our guide Marianna Tsigaridou provided sophisticated and insightful commentary that helped us to connect the locations, the history and the legends of the place - we were all fully engaged at all times. The combination of the sites and their associated museums was a powerful way of learning.The hotels that we used we of high quality - each very different from the other, but all with generous and comfortable rooms. Breakfasts in each were excellent and we were able to enjoy Greek breakfasts.

Best part of our Trip to Greece

What an amazing 4 days. The tour guide picked us up at our hotel as was previously planned, and we were then brought to the main office where we were joined by the rest of the travellers. There were 12 of us on this tour at the beginning which was nice because it was easy to get to know everyone. I'm not sure if we were just lucky, but we had a great group. Our tour guides name was Youille. She was just amazing, and very knowledgeable. There wasn't really any point in the trip where my wife and I felt bored. On the 3rd day, we were joined by another group and at that point, the bus was now full. I'm not going to spend much time talking about all the stops, however, I will mention how this trip is absolutely worth it. The accommodations were great, the meals were fantastic, and all the visited locations were something special to see. Happy travels!

Amazing Tour

The tour was outstanding- the sites were beautiful, the food was good and hotels were very nice. Our tour guide, Anna, was incredible- so educated, friendly and caring to our group. Her English was excellent, I would highly recommend this tour.

A review of our foray into 'Booked Tours'.

My wife & I are 70 y.o. & have traveled extensively. Previously we have rented a car & booked our own accommodation. This was the first 'booked tour' we have been on & we will probably do future travels by booking tours, because it was so much easier. We were collected at our hotel, we relaxed while the bus driver negotiated the journey. Our entry to sights was made easy by our guide collecting entry tickets, shepherding us thru the entry points & providing history & details of the places we visited along our journey. When we arrived at the hotel our our accommodation was already arranged & out bags taken to our room. Having a competent & knowledgeable guide was much easier & more informative than reading the information panels, trying to remember & then forgetting most of it. Our guide Marianna Tsigaridou was excellent. She was very competent & patient dealing with all questions & problems anyone on the tour had. My only negative is that we elected 'Standard Accommodation'. Two of the hotels were fine, but the hotel in we stayed at in Delphi was not. The staff were fine but the hotel was old & below the standards of the other hotels in Olympia & Kalambaka.

Highly recommended

After visiting 2 major Greek islands on self guided tours, we enjoyed this 4 days highlight tour very much. With professional explanations of our guide, Stavros, we had better appreciation and understanding of the historical sites. Standard of our first hotel exceeded our expectation, whereas the remaining one was acceptable. But the latter two hotels were situated at city centre which was far convenient than the first one.

Fabulous bus tour and tour guide

There were four of us who went on this tour together. From the minute we got on the bus, we knew we were in for a wonderful adventure. The sights were all so interesting, made more so by our amazing tour guide. Marianna, an Athens native, was well educated regarding the history, art and architecture of the sites we visited. She was a wealth of information, and was able to answer questions thoroughly. Our group was small and quite congenial, and Marianna fostered that spirit. Our bus driver, George, was excellent at maneuvering the bus through difficult spots. Overall an experience we will long remember.

Excellent tour full of highlights

Our tour of the ancient sites was excellent. Each day had one main feature but our guide, Yiouli, ensured that even the long bus journey between each was interesting and informative. My favourite site was at Olympia but all locations were had their history brought to life by wonderful insights. The hotels at each destination were very high quality and the other people on the tour were very friendly and good fun.

Touring Ancient Greece the easy way!

Absolutely the way to go! The bus trip itself was smooth, cool, & driver Zacharias exceptional! Our tour guide, Marianna, was the best! Very informative, well organized, & looked after each guest personally. This tour of ancient Greece topped off our overall two week excursion. It was our highlight of the vacation! A definite must do!

Excellent guide and easy pace

Our guide Stavros was excellent where he took a lot of effort to explain in detail the history of each site. Also Zachary is a very good driver navigating the small mountainous roads especially around Meteora. The hotels were fine, value for money.

4 Unforgettable, Wonderful Days!

This tour could not have been any better! Stavros, our guide, was exceptional. His knowledge of the Greek Mythology, history, and art was unbelievable. He gave us all the information about the sights we were seeing that made the difference between seeing some great ruins and really understanding the meaning and history behind them. I loved the tour of Olympia and Delphi best, but the Epidaurus theatre, Mycenae, and the monasteries were awesome too. The rock formations around the monasteries and the views were stunning. I did the upgraded hotels and they were exceptional for Europe. I expected shoebox rooms and they were spacious, comfortable, and all in great locations. I would highly recommend this tour, and if you get Stavros as your guide and George as your driver, you'll be in 7th heaven!

Unbelievable landscapes and monuments with the perfect guide

This tour was hands down the highlight of my two-week trip to Greece. I really had a great time touring the mainland and listening to the guide's very thorough and interesting explanations every step of the way. Mariana Tsigaridou was the tour guide, a native Greek who has been doing this for over 30 years! She did a fantastic job not only delivering all the information, telling us when great views were approaching, handling hotel reservations each night, and paying for our tickets into each monument, but she then did it all over again in Italian as well as English! Watching her switch back and forth between languages, which must be a very exhausting process having to repeat yourself like that, was really incredible -- all for just two Italian women with us. Mariana definitely went above and beyond every day and did the absolute best job possible in providing the best tour experience possible. All the hotels were very nice and with amazing views right out of the balcony. Mariana also paid for baggage services so we didn't have to carry our luggage from the bus to our rooms and in the mornings we simply put our luggage outside the door to have it returned to the bus for us. That was a really big convenience I didn't expect, and especially since I had a particularly large and heavy bag that really made a big difference in my energy for walking throughout the days.

Wonderful helpful guide- informative and positive

It was well organized and the information was interesting. The guide provided information on history, mythology and the current events. The guide went out of her way to meet the needs of the people on the tour. She attempted to make sure special dietary needs were addressed and that everyone had what they needed. The guide was wonderful. The was a diverse group of interesting friendly people that made the experience even more entertaining. This was the best tour we participated in while in Greece.

Historical tour with Key Tours.

Absolute joy, just ticked every box, would say go with the First Class accomodation. We chose standard class, the Astey Olympia hotel is amazing and worth a stay on its own. The sites are breathtaking, do yourself a favour and chose the 4 day as you will not regret. Bus comfort awesome, bus driver (Panos) was the best...our expert guide (Yiouli), well she was amazing. Knowledge and story telling is A1 first class. Best tour ever, really engaging and time spread well. First day was big, tour allows plenty of time to digest the wonderful sites of Greece.

Really Enjoyed Myself

Really good tour, very safe driver (Vasillis) and excellent tour guide (Mariana) from Key Tours. I would have given this tour an excellent rating if not for the following: 1. No WiFi on the bus which is essential, like my kids said: "Dad, it's 2019!" 2. The hotels were not great and some of the other passengers were very unhappy. 3. The hotel food (apart from the one in Delphi) was not good. 4. Early morning start on day and no opportunity for breakfast. 5. To make this truly Classical Greece, Sparta should be included and make it a 5 day tour or skip Meteora which is a different historical period of Greece. Overall I would recommend it and like I said, if they make these changes they would get an excellent rating.

Great adventure and awesome scenery!

Our guide Katia was very knowledgeable and managed our groups well! Kudos to her, we enjoyed our trip alot! Hotels chosen were ok, but our stay at Delphi Palace had the best view but lousy food... The stay at Olympia Neda hotel was bad, food was below average and rooms were old... Anyways, the highlights of the trip to the sites were great and we enjoyed Olympia's site visit the most. Meteora was too crowded... Hope to come to Greece again!

5 Day Classical Tour with Key tours - Wonderful trip

We did the 5 Day Classical tour. Pickup went really smoothl. There was some movement of people between buses but it was well organised. On day one we headed to Epidaurus with our tour guide Anna who was very knowledgeable. Around lunch time we arrived at Nafplio, a gorgeous little seaside town. We stayed overnight there while the rest of the tour group continued on. Hotel was centrally located and clean. The next day we were picked up by our new group, which is the 4 Day classical tour, and our tour guide Marianna and driver. The hotel in Olympia and the food served there was amazing! The breakfast was particularly good, the best we had on the tour. The hotel in Delphi was very average. The view from the room was spectacular but the bathroom and the room itself felt very dated. On average though the rooms and the food was alright, though breakfast was minimalistic at Delphi. The shower in Orfeas Hotel in Meteora was downright dangerous in our room but the beds were comfortable. The best thing about the tour was Marianna, our tour guide. She made the history come alive! There was no question she could not answer. She was engaging and funny and made the long drives seem shorter and interesting. The sites themselves were incredible, and definitely worth a visit, but without Marianna’s knowledge it would have been impossible to appreciate them to the extent they deserved. She was an incredible tour guide and she was the highlight of the tour. Our bus driver, Vasilis, was amazing, made us feel safe on the long winding and often narrow streets! All in all, a fantastic trip. Made some wonderful friends and got so much knowledge and depth that we would have never got on our own. Thank you Marianna for such a memorable and incredible tour!!

Classical Greece - 4 day tour

Marianna, our guide, was brilliant! She is extremely knowledgeable, and is passionate about her work, taking time to fully explain the history and culture of every site we visited. The bus was comfortable, and one of the hotels we stayed in, Olympian Asty, was first class. Unfortunately the other 2 hotels, the Delphi Palace (what a misnomer - this place was in worse shape than the ruins at Delphi!) and the Orfeas Hotel in Kalambaka were dreadful - dirty and the showers were not working properly. Key Tours should give consideration to finding alternative hotels.

Amazing Tour De Force of Ancient Greek History

If you only have 4 days to explore mainland Greece, this would be the trip! A very comprehensive and well rounded trip with good service. Our guide was Marianna, who is very knowledgeable and very passionate about sharing the details of each site to bring the tour to life. Our driver was also very good and skillful in navigating the tight corners and narrow paths, and always ensured we had a smooth and comfortable ride. If you are a greek mythology buff, this is the trip for you! Some of the best highlights of these tour were Meteora, Delphi and Olympia. Overall, a highly recommended tour for the historical sights in Greece!

The best possible trip one could hope for!

I don't think I've ever been on a tour where the booking process was so seamless and hassle free. I'd booked tickets a few months ago on Viator and added in my hotel details. I called KeyTours 2 days before the trip and got to know of my pick up time. The hotel pick up was accurate to the minute. Our trip had started off on a bright positive note. With regards to the tour now... Marianna Tsigaridou is one of those women who deserve a statue on their own. A veteran with over 30 years experience, she lives and breathes her trade with confidence and panache. She was an absolute treasure trove of knowledge in Greek mythology and made our trip a memorable one. We started off by driving via the Corinth Canal to Epidaurus first and then to Mycenae. The first day was kind of long with lots of stops and we could only break for lunch at 3pm. We got to learn a great deal about the Mycenean kingdom, Perseus, Agamemmnon and the Trojan war. We stopped overnight at Olympia (reached at around 7pm) and departed for the ruins of Olympia the following day at around 9am. The day trip to Olympia and the following day at Delphi were incredible to say the least. Each and every aspect of our journey was well taken care of and meticulously planned. Marianna went above and beyond her call of duty and made sure we were well taken care of and in our comfort zones. The last day of the tour was a visit to the stunning Monasteries of Meteora, before we drove back to Athens, a total of 1200kms over the duration of the 4 days. I can't thank Marianna enough for her stories, wisdom and the sheer volume of information. Having said that, it could be overwhelming for some. But, as someone who's passionate about history and mythology in general, I had no complaints and found it all extremely absorbing. My only complaint is that some of the stops for lunch, coffee and the store where religious icons were prepared were catered for tourists. The prices were steep and the food was quite average. In all, the tour will give you an incredible insight into Greece right from the pre-historic castle at Mycenae to the classical temple at Delphi and onto the medieval monasteries at Meteora.

A 4-Day Lecture Tour of Greek History

A comprehensive and hectic Greek history tour. Good, if one is a history buff. The continuous lectures for 4 days were too detailed to benefit sight-seeing tourists. The knowledgeable guide's preoccupation and over-emphasis on delivering lengthy details on mythology and history, meant that there was VERY LITTLE TIME left for tourists to SEE the actual displays. Just some relevant information, guidelines and 'bullet' points would have been more helpful and enjoyable. (Further, do choose the better hotels for the same price!)

Excellent Comprehensive Tour of Ancient Greece

This is a great choice if you want an immersive and comprehensive experience at all of the major historical sites of Greece. The only glitch was a delay at the beginning of the tour, when various groups were picked up and consolidated. The delay caused us to have to skip our visit to Nafplion on the first day, but the day was still incredible with visits to Epidaurus and Mycenae. The second day we toured Olympia and were able to run in the original stadium. The third day we spent in Delphi where we had some free time to walk up to the theater and stadium above the temple and also do some shopping in town. We were fortunate to have only twelve people on our tour for the first three days, then consolidated with another group for the final day. Our tour guide, Dimitris, was outstanding. He is a trained archaeologist who was also able to weave Greek mythology into the factual history of each site. We learned so much that we would not have learned on our own. Thanks also to Petros, our excellent driver, for keeping us safe and getting to the destinations on time. We booked the "A" package with 4* hotel accommodations, and were glad we did. The hotel in Delphi was probably the best available, but it seems hotels in Delphi are generally older and not updated. The hotels at Olympia and Kalambaka were excellent, as was the food. Lunches are "on your own" but most days we really only had one choice of where to eat - the restaurant that the tour stopped at. "On your own" means that you can order whatever you want and will pay individually for it. But overall, everywhere we stopped was fine, so we didn't have any complaints. The last day was awesome, with tour of the monasteries at Meteora and a stop at Thermoplyae, the site of the battle between Spartans and Persians in the movie "300." This was a great experience, with lifetime memories, that I highly recommend.
