Our tour guide Alexander was wonderful and made our trip very pleasant and memorable. He indulged not only my husband and I but my boys (16 and11) as well. Extensive knowledge about Delphi and meteora that he shared with us throughout the trip.

Terrific job Andreas!

Andreas, our driver was excellent. Yes, it is expensive and indulgent (we were lucky enough to do this), however our ability to navigate what we wanted to at speed, without the mass of tourists within a coach was really special. Andreas was excellent and not only provided great historical and cultural information on our tour, was completely devoted to us having a great experiences I really couldn’t recommend Andreas enough. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We experienced one of our best sunsets together so far! Stunning!

Memorable part of our trip was seeing the Monastery. The tour guide was very good. She spent about an hour with us. Our driver George was polite and did his job well.

We came back with our shields, not on them.

My family of four (13 year old girl and 8 year old boy) had a great time on this trip. We were picked up right from the airport after arriving in Greece by Kristos. We were very comfortable in a large black van. My kids got some extra sleep on the drive up. Kris was accommodating in my husband's desire to add a stop to the trip (the Crossroads). We were lucky enough in Delphi to see the Olympic Committee bring the Torch. Meteora was absolutely gorgeous. We got to see a couple of monasteries. We had a late start that morning so opted to skip the third. The next stop was Thermopylae, where Kris was very knowledgeable about the history of the battle and its consequences. He also was very patient as my husband tried to react various 300 and Oedipus scenes. All in all we had a great time.

Great tour, would have been better if Olive Sea Travel would have chosen a decent hotel

Our driver/guide, George, was great. He was flexible and adapted the program to meet our needs. Meteora and Delphi were both very much worth the trip. The monasteries were beautiful and I am glad we decided to take the trip to see them. My only complaint, and the reason for four stars rather than five was the choice of hotel where we spent the night. The Hotel Meteoritis was not very nice and I suspect we were housed there because it was cheap for the travel company. This was not an inexpensive tour and they could have selected a better hotel.

We saw so many 5 star ratings and now we know why. George was awesome. Nothing was too difficult This is a must trip.

Fantastic and easy way to see Delphi/Meteora

This could not have been better for our family of four. Having a private vehicle with the amazing driver guide, Alexander, took all the challenges of getting to these destinations two brilliant sites of Greece out of the picture. Alexander was so wonderful and knowledgeable and made the trip a very engaging and rewarding experience. We couldn’t have done this over two days on our own so it was an excellent way to do it before heading to the islands. Prior to leaving Olive Sea was great, reassuring and responsive. Highly recommend!!

Must See!

My family of 5 (which included my not-so-agile 70-year-old parents) thoroughly enjoyed this 2-day trip to Delphi and Meteora. Our guide/driver was very knowledgeable and curated the trip for our needs--picking specific monasteries to visit, since we decided not to visit them all. He also chose excellent restaurants for us to eat at for lunch and dinner both days. The hotel we stayed at was arranged by Olive Sea Travel and was also wonderful. We took this tour after a 7-day cruise and am so glad we did as Delphi and the monasteries were the highlight of our whole trip!

Delphi and Meteora private trip

The highlights of the tour were Delphi, a famous historic place and Meteora, a somewhat unique combination of visiting an old monastery with spectacular natural geographic formations. It was well worth the effort and expense. Delphi and Meteora are two truly exquisite locations and we absolutely loved visiting both of them. We also got to see a lot of inland Greece which was a plus. In this aspect it was really our tour guide Nasos, who made suggestions and we are happy we took them. Nasos was absolutely a pleasure to work with. He was both professional and warm at the same time. I must also commend his driving. It was a lot of driving and I felt quite safe while we were traversing some of the mountain roads while ensuring my daughter (prone to motion sickness) did not get car sick. And yet make good time. Would definitely recommend this kind of trip. Will say that having a good guide/driver will make the trip so much the better and we were fortunate in that regard.

Our guide Nasos Theodoropoulos was excellent. He was pleasant, helpful, friendly and took good care of our party of six.

The scenery in both Delphi & Meteora was breathtaking, a lot of tough walking & ‘hiking’, suitable only for those with no walking difficulties and reasonably fit.

The 2-Day private tour is the grand finale to end our one-month long Italy/Greece trip. Not only the astonishing mountains, historic ruins and monasteries which are really worth to visit, also our wonderful driver, Nasos Theodoropoulos. Nasos was very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He introduced Greek culture and history to us which I found was very beneficial as a first timer to Greece. He bought Greek coffee for us to try and brought us to nice Greek restaurants which we enjoyed very much. He helped us whenever we needed and answered all our questions. Nasos went further to help even they were not in the scope of his tour duties and hours. It was a very enjoyable and unforgettable tour to Delphi & Meteora. I highly recommend Olive Tree travel and its driver/guide Nasos.

Nasos Theodoropoulos is a very experience, patient, confident and careful driver. He is a diligent worker. He has very good knowledge of all the places he bought us and also bought us to places not in the itinerary which we all appreciated and enjoyed. Also treated us with some local food and coffee. He helped bring me to two police stations to report my lost of my money but unfortunately the two police station were closed. i appreciated that he took his off duty time after our tour to bring there and back to to my hotel and also have to hurry back for his daughter’s birthday. Thank you Nasos and we all enjoyed your company

Great ending to our vacation

Highlight of our weekend in Delphi & Meteora ending our month long vacation with great fantastic tour. Would recommend it to anyone who want to go on a tour with our guide and driver, Nasos Theodoropoulos. He was brilliant - super friendly, helpful, considerate and extremely knowledgeable-educating us (6 in our group) on the history and local knowledge of the tour. Very informative and happy to answer any questions and cater to our whims. He even went the extra mile to show us more of the culture of the country. He extended his care showing us the exceptional coffee to have, and taking us to different restaurants to our satisfaction. He was compassionate and considerate and went above his duty to help my sister to find a police station for her problem. Again highly recommend.

Exhilarating tour of Meteora and Delphi!! A must see trip with Andreas, our driver and tour guide!

Excellent trip with Andreas who was our driver who had exceptional knowledge of Greek history. He was courteous, professional and drove us through phenomenal sites in Meteora, and Delphi. We were able to dine in some really exceptional restaurants offering traditional Greek food and wine. Our experience was superlative and would strongly recommend this trip!!

Great two private tours

Our family of four love doing private tours and Olive Sea delivered. We had two great trips with them during our Greece stay. The planning and communication stages before we arrived were very smooth. Giannis and Ilias were our Athens guides. Ilias was always there to pick us up in an air conditioned van to give us a break from the heat. Giannis was a very engaging and knowledgeable licensed Athens guide. We saw all the main archeological and historical sites in the city and he knew the best order of attractions to minimize the summer heat and crowds. We had a great coffee stop and a lunch stop at Acropol restaurant.  Socrates was our guide for the two-day trip to Delphi and Meteora. He was an excellent and careful driver and he had a lot of driving in those two days. Delphi was a challenge even at 11am as it's a steady climb uphill, but we were not rushed and had a self-guided tour after getting information from Socrates (he is not licensed and could not guide us through the site). We had an amazing lunch stop at To Patriko Mas in Delphi at Socrates' suggestion and it was one of our favorite restaurants in mainland Greece. Despite the long drive to Meteora, Socrates drove us to the top of the mountain to get the best views of the sunset over the distinctive monasteries on their cliffs. We started early the next day and visited 3 of the 4 open monasteries with minimal effort as Socrates knew the best routes to avoid climbing too much up or down and was always there to pick us up to take us to the next monastery. On the way back to Athens, we had another lovely stop at a restaurant by the sea and were safely dropped off at our Airbnb. We would all highly recommend Olive Sea for those who are looking to have a unique Greek adventure.

Amazing, personalised experience. Recommended to all!

We had a wonderful time on the delphi/meteora trip and athens day tour with our Canadian, Spartan olive farmer, Nasos. He was very friendly, helpful and went out of his way to make our tour special. He took us to see sunset at meteora, which was breathtaking and certainly the highlight of our trip. Big group tours don't compare to this sort of private experience, which was flexible and we were never rushed. We would recommend this tour and Nasos to anyone!

Great way to spend a few days!

The trip was awesome! The tour left from the home we were staying in the Athens suburbs and took us to Delphi for a few hours, had time for a leisurely delicious lunch, and then on to the city of Kalabaka for the evening. We left the next day to go up to two monasteries in Meteora. Our guide, Naso, saw that another monastery was open, so he let us tour that one as well. We then drove to Thermopylae and dipped our hands into the sulfur hot springs and saw the monument honoring the Spartans who fought against the Persians (referenced in the movie 300). We also stopped at this powerful World War II memorial on the way to Delphi. It was a very somber reference, but helped illustrate the rich history of Greece (and we both love history). It was an amazing time, and with a private tour, you can have some flexibility in your schedule. Plus Naso is an amazing guide! It was great to learn about his heritage (Spartan Canadian), his family (to understand how locals live), and to hear about the history of the land. Plus he has great driving skills to get us around quickly yet safely (the Greek roads are tricky!).

Quality services delivered with warmth

Olive Sea Travels provided excellent arragements for multiple activities for our family in Athens, Delphi and Meteora. We arranged our airport pickups through them and also did the 2 day Delphi-Meteroa trip. Dimitra was the agent that answered all my questions on email without once being pushy with any of their offerings. She was flexible, accommodative and super prompt in responding to my questions. The Driver George (Yurgos) that took us on our private 2 day tour was charming and engaging and also super flexible to accommodate our needs and even went the extra mile to bring us to the lookout points in Meteora twice because of my interest in photography. He had a very neat vehicle and had checked the weather and was prepared with umbrellas due to the forecast and really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable.

Dephi & Meteora Best Trip Ever

Our experience traveling to Delphi and Meteora would have never been the same traveling by ourselves as doing through Olive Sea Travel. This is why it is a pleasure for me to write this review. Since I bought the tour, which was very affordable, Dimitra (The Manager) was always there on the phone, WhatsUp, and by email to answer my questions, go over the itinerary, discuss prices, and even just chat. Once the tour day arrived, Evangelos (Driver/Guide/Friend) was very punctual, polite, and very professional. From there until the drop-off day we developed a wonderful friendship with him, he was like family to us. Evangelos drove us everywhere, explained to us everything we asked, and was patient, kind, and very understandable. On our first stop in Delphi, we were introduced to our professional guide for the site, Electra. She was fantastic, the best tour guide ever. Very knowledgeable, casual, and very engaging with the children which made the experience even better. I cannot write this review without mentioning her and giving her all the credit and acknowledgment she deserves. She is definitely an asset for Delphi. On our second day, we went to Meteora, where we all enjoyed the breathtaking views and visit two monasteries. Lastly, and on the way back to Athens we stop at Thermopiles, where we saw a short movie and visited the site of the battle and the monument to Leonidas. In the end, we fell in debt with Evangelos and I bought the best wine I could and gave it to him as a token of appreciation for all he did for us. Evangelos, Dimitra, Electra, all of you, thank you very much for doing out of this trip an unforgettable experience that none of us will ever forget. Sincerely. GB

A great trip despite the weather

This was a wonderful excursion for the whole family. We had seen photos of Meteora, but seeing the monasteries (and all the singular rock formations) in person was a can't miss experience. It's a long drive but stopping in Delphi and then having lunch overlooking the sea made it enjoyable. And I can't say enough about our guide, Lysandros. He was knowledgeable about all the history, super sweet, helpful, and very accomodating. We are vegetarian, so he found places to eat that had foods for us. Also, we knew the second day was going to be stormy, so he got us to Meteora in time to view the monasteries (from afar) at dusk and take some gorgeous photos with the sun setting. The next day there was thunder and lightening and it was super foggy so we decided to only visit one monastery and head back to Athens. Having a private guide allowed us to change up our plans and we got to Athens in time to make an evening visit to the Acropolis - cooler and less crowds!

Highlight of our trip: Private tour Delphi and Meteora

We scheduled a two-day private tour to see Delphi and Meteora. All questions were answered in advance and the company was extremely responsive and professional. We were picked up in a clean Mercedes mini-van for our group of four. Our driver/guide for the trip was Lysandros. He was early to pick us up. Lysandros was outstanding. He was friendly, attentive and extremely knowledgeable about the history of the sights and locations. He drove safely and made sure we were comfortable at all times. He recommended a lunch location overlooking a beautiful view with great food. He even took us up to Meteora at sunset to take pictures and enjoy the beautiful views. The following morning, he took us up early so we could avoid the larger crowds and was immediately there when we were ready to leave. We considered booking a tour on the tour bus, but are SO glad we chose the private tour instead. It made for an amazing two days and was so much more flexible. Add to that a wonderful guide like Lysondros and it was the perfect trip. I would highly recommend it.

More than a driver

I visited Greece with 4 other friends in May. We hired George from Olive Sea to provide transportation in Delphi and Meteora. We visited the Delphi Archeological site and museum and the Monasteries in Meteora. We could not have been more pleased with George's services. He was more than a driver, he provided very helpful information to us and was so friendly and professional. He also added on an extra attraction for us to visit which was on the way to our hotel. He stopped when and where we requested for meals or food pickups at restaurants/markets. We remembered his advice and comments throughout the rest of our trip and often referred to them. It was like he was part of our whole Greece vacation, even though we only needed his services the first couple days. I highly recommend using George from Olive Sea whenever you have an excursion or need transportation in Greece.

Our driver George went above and beyond to take us to see the sunset in Meteora even though that was not on the itinerary. It was breathtaking and highlight of our trip! He was also a very good and safe driver. Highly recommended!

Amazing tour

We had an amazing 2 days on this tour, visiting Delphi on the first day and the incredible monasteries of Meteora on the second day. The scenery was beautiful all along. Lunch was at a lovely restaurant in Delphi which had sweeping views of the valley. The pacing was perfect with a lot of flexibility to suit our interests. Our guide, Giannis, was fabulous- extremely knowledgeable, polite and friendly. He had a great attitude and really made this trip extra special for us.

Highlights of my trip in Greece and one of the best on my multi country trip. Perfect from start to finish. Budget friendly and worth every penny compared to other private tours I was looking at. Company contacted me immediately regarding itinerary, suggested hotel stay in kalabaka which was affordable and fantastic. Stayed in hotel Meteoritis (great stay and wonderful breakfast) with view of Christmas tree and meteora on balcony. They also gave me advice on tickets for monuments/sites to be visited. They also picked me up from the airport with no additional cost 🙌. Alexander is the best driver, sort of tour guide as adding commentaries along the way (feel free to ask him anything that interest you along the way for free) and fantastic free personal photographer (many thanks for your patience and understanding 😅).Delphi (do the walk from temple of Athena down to ticket centre in temple of Apollo, much better experience and views for me) and especially meteora (can't find words to express its beauty) is a must do itinerary in greece. Views are just out of this world. Blown away by its beauty. Also we added sunset tour in meteora as we arrived early on 1st day with no additional cost and saw 4 monasteries instead of 3 accomodated well by Alexander. I also had to buy a new phone as my current phone was playing up and Alexander was accommodating enough to drive me to the nearly phones shop. Can't thank and recommend the company enough. Will book again with this company next time I visit Greece. So what are you waiting for book your experience of a life time 😁. Happy travels.

Wonderful tour and Excellent Guide

I highly recommend this trip. Our guide Petros was a joy. He was prompt without fault and always enthusiastically answered our many questions with clear knowledge and passion for the sites. He it top notch. We had many special requests and he made everything happen. Meteora is magical and should be experienced. We enjoyed Petros so much, we booked him for a private tour of Athens. Despite being in Athens during Marathon weekend, he skillfully navigated the streets and traffic to get us everywhere we wanted. We did not miss a thing and learned so much from our tours.

Fantastic tour

Our guide Marianna Tsigaridou was amazing, she taught us a lot about Delphi and Meteora, she was really kind and helpful. I would recommend anyone to do it as it is totally worth it! Also food and accomodations were really good.

Private Delphi & Meteora 2 day tour

We elected to do a two day trip to Delphi and Meteora with our four children ranging from 14-28 years. The tour company, Olive Sea Travel, provided licensed tour guides at our request for the tours of Delphi and Meteora and we couldn’t have been more impressed with their knowledge and ability to keep our entire groups attention. The tour company was wonderful - very responsive to requests and fantastic at sending confirmations. Our driver, Dem, was incredible! Seriously very knowledgeable and kind, not to mention extremely patient. He was on time every time and even gave us the BEST recommendations for restaurants. I won’t hesitate to request him for future excursions. The private drive is definitely worth it. The van we rode in was very safe and comfortable and we were certainly grateful for the air conditioning. I know our entire family had a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend this tour and this company! Thank you for an awesome tour!

2 days with Stavros

The weather didn't cooperate but Delphi & Meteora were very interesting. Stavros was knowledgeable & helpful. Lunch restaurants were excellent.

Excellent tour

We recently took the two day tour from Athens to Delphi and Meteora and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our driver, David, was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive to everything we needed. The sites were both spectacular and we felt like David was able to help us find special sights that we wouldn't have found on our own. As well, every restaurant on the tour was phoenomenal, with fresh fish, homestyle Greek food, and amazing views of the "olive sea" itself (a vast olive tree plantation) and the Gulf of Corinth. A truly memorable couple of days in Greece.

Meteora & Delphi 2 Day Tour

Our private tour of Delphi and Meteora was absolutely phenomenal. Cannot recommend this tour enough if you have the time to visit these two sites. Our guide was a man named Alex and he went out of his way to show us all the key spots in Delphi and Meteora. If you have the chance, I would highly recommend requesting Alex for the tour. The history of Delphi and the inexplicably breathtaking view of Meteora are must-see experiences. Our drive from Athens to each of these locations was smooth and extremely comfortable as well. On our way back from Meteora, we also stopped to visit Thermopylae, which has a memorial for King Leonidas and the 300 Spartans who fought against the Persians.

Very helpful private tour company

We booked our Athens airport transportation trips as well as a trip to Delphi and Meteora through olive sea. They also arranged transfer to the port of Piraeus for our day trip to Hydra. All our drivers/ guides spoke English and were very knowledgeable. We nicknamed our driver for the Delphi trip (Tim/Dim) encyclopedia. Very responsive by email and text.

I highly recommend this agency and this guide (Nasos). Tailor-made program: deliberately early departure to enjoy the sites of Delphi and the meteors before the influx of tourists), observation of meteors at sunset. Quality vehicle (Mercedes) and our guide is both professional and friendly, he shared a lot of information with us about his country.
