It was a very nice trip.we wereld Therapie for 3 dans in the hotel Spaander. Also a very nice hotel. Super we are coming back.

Untrustworthy company

Company who doesn’t keep their own times. Very expensive go with the normal bus. That is more reliable and way cheaper! Untrustworthy company, not reachable. Use the normal bus!

A great experience between two charming towns by

A group of our friends traveled through the Netherlands and visited these two very charming towns. Traversing between the two via the ship added a unique and fun experience. The ship itself is a very specious with toilets available. There are two decks, one inside and the top deck is outside. To top it off, the ship captain, John, talked with us about piloting the vessel, gave recommendations in addition to some local history. It was blast! Ask if Captain John is working during your trip!

Captain John was super knowledgeable and friendly, told us some great stories. Made the trip from Marken to Volendam very enjoyable.

Amazing Ferry Ride

The captain of the ferry between Marken and Volendam, Captain John, deserves a big compliment for his excellent skills and dedication. His ability to navigate the waters while battling the strong winds with both precision is admirable. He allowed me to visit him on the deck, explaining the way the ferry operated. In addition, I was able to get a beautiful view of the route. Thanks to his professionalism and friendly attitude, it was one of the best trips of my life.

Good, but not cheap

An relaxing way to travel between Volendam and Marken. There’s not a lot to see, so we decided to only travel one way and then caught the bus from Marken back to Amsterdam.

Advisable careless day out! Aanrader!!

Not only did we do the Boat Cruise, but de whole package named “Dagje Volendam”.It was beautiful weather, that helped, so the cruise gave us wonderful views. Everybody was very friendly, on the boat, in Volendam and Marken; in shops, restaurants everywhere! But the friendliest was the hostess at the Ticket Office: she helped us out with good advice, explained what was best to do and at what time, so we had a very good time thanks to her. When we walked by the office she came to us and asked if everything went well with us and our friends from Australia. Thank you, dear Yvette!

Ferry to Marken

We took the ferry from Voldendam to Marken. Our captain, Jon was amazing! He was willing to answer all of our questions and very friendly! He even let us see the front of the boat! Would highly recommend someone visiting Amsterdam go visit Marken by ferry. . Amazing history and buildings will make you think you e stepped back in time!

We went for trip to Marken and we met the captain John. So interesting, nice smart man. We enjoyed it so much.

Memorable crossing to Marken

Thanks to Captain John for a great crossing from Volendam to Marken. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly enlightening me on the history of the area including the local bodies of water. It was a very smooth trip made much more memorable by Captain John. Definitely ask for him if taking the cruise.

A must do trip

A must do activity when visiting Amsterdam. Very scenic and breathtaking view, along the canals. Comfortable boat, with individual headphones.

My mother, sister & I went for a boattrip to Marken. My mother sits in a wheelchair and Yvette, captain John and the other crew did everything possible to help us!! Considerate,with a smile and friendly words. We highly recommend the Volendam- Marken express!! A very nice experience!!

Great way to get from Volendam to Marken

We visited Volendam by bus and its such a beautiful place on the water. We decided to catch the Volendam Marken Express Boat across to Marken which is also very pretty. The boat is clean and comfortable and looks to have been refreshed recently. There is a bar with snacks onboard. We sat outdoors where we obtained some great photos.

First class captain and host

As a group of mature cyclists celebrating my 70th birthday we took the ferry on a one way trip from Volendam to Marken. John our captain was excellent. He gave us great advice on how to store our bicycles and then advised us where to sit to get the best views and shade for our journey. We were given a personal overview of the boat we were on, the local area and it’s history and advice on where to visit in Marken, and where the best coffee could be found. Thank you John for adding to our adventure in Holland.

Two different boats take you in 30-45 minuten to Marken (or the other way around). A nice trip on clean boats.

Unpleasant and unfriendly captain

The captain of the boat, Wim, was extremely rude to the visitors and to our guide. Extremely unpleasant and unfriendly person. He was screaming that the guide and we all were late. And when we all were leaving, he again made an unnecessary remark. Very unnecessary and definitely avoidable! As a captain and a representative of the boat/ferry, he should change his behavior towards others. Maybe better to take a couple of communication skills training classes…

Enjoyable boat ride

My friend and I took the ferry from Marken to Volendam yesterday with John as our captain and guide. He was so knowledgeable and we enjoyed visiting with him and learning more about Volendam and the Netherlands. This was a great way to start our first day in the Netherlands. Thank you John for an enjoyable ride over to Volendam.

Great boat trip from Volendam to Marken

Quick scenic boat trip from Volendam to Marken. Much better than the bus. We sat in the sunshine on the upper deck for this 30 minute ride. Helpful and gracious staff. We were able to take ferry one way from Volendam and bus back to Amsterdam. If you have questions about your day trip itinerary they are most helpful. The boat was well maintained. Price was more than fair. Our route was bus from Centraal to Edam, but back to Volendam with a look around then ferry to Marken and bus back to Amsterdam Centraal. It was a perfect day trip from Amsterdam

Pleasant Way to Slowly Travel From Volendam to Marken

Even though there is a road to Marken, traveling by boat was a much nicer way to arrive. The boat ride was probably around 25 minutes, just enough time for a beer to enjoy while gazing out of the window. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and allow us to sit outside. The boat was clean, as is everything else in The Netherlands and the cost was very reasonable, at 9 euros PP.

Scenic and engaging

The boat was warm and comfortable on a chilly autumn day. Be sure to get on quickly so you can get a good seat.

Good Boat Transportation

Good boat transportation between Voldendam and Marken. This is not a tour just a boat ride between two locations. Although there is a bar and bathrooms on the lower deck so it does have some nice extras. The boat is clean and the people are nice. I recommend taking this as part of a good day trip.

Great day out!

Super nice day with the outing via Social Deal. Very nice reception by Yvette at the info desk. Very enthusiastic woman who immediately told us everything about Marken and Volendam. Cheese shop visited, bakery, smallest house of Marken, delicious lunch, photo and boat back and forth. All great experiences for us and the children aged 7&9.

Fun for discovering Marken

Perfectly arranged we had Saturday morning the boat of 11 o'clock and place enough , small bar with enough for sale in drinks or refreshments

Sailing times unreliable. Marken very nice to walk

Volendam and Marken are absolutely worth a visit. However, don't rely too much on the boat times. Without any prior notification, boats will be skied so you will be on Marken for 2 hours longer. No communication about this via website and/or information board. When complaining about this, the reaction is very laconic. Because of this also missed the tour at the stroopwafelmaker which was part of the arrangement. Again, an indifferent attitude in response. Expensive deal like this.

Volendam in the summer holidays

Way too busy, terraces crowded! Leave the busy promenade and walk through the streets of Volendam. Boat trip to Marken was relaxed.

Great ferry to visit Volendam. Its price is not high, and inside it has a cafeteria with prices below usual in any "ground" bar. The crossing was made enjoyable and the staff is very nice.

Very nice trip in fantastic weather. Both places were of course extremely busy on a beautiful Sunday, but that's normal for such destinations. The booking via TripAdvisor went smoothly.

Special experience

I was with my cousin and we were in Marken for the first time. The people were very friendly and we received a very warm and friendly welcome from everyone. But a special THANK YOU to Nanda!! by Sijtje Boes. She told us beautiful stories, including about butterflies and about the past. What a nice woman!! We enjoyed it very much in Marken!! A serious company

The crossing allowed you to see the villages from another angle. Much more pleasant than taking your car, the shuttles are numerous and the boats are comfortable and well maintained.

Great Captain John

I would like to highly recommend the Volendam Marken Express boat trip to everyone, which became completely unforgettable for us, thanks only to Captain John. He took us to the captain's bridge, where he explained in detail how his ship was steered. Thanks to all the information he told us, the cruise was a very interesting experience for us. The most interesting thing was watching him maneuver his big boat inside the small harbor of Marken in a strong wind with absolute professionalism. Captain John, thank you very much!

Wat een leuke ervaring mede door het geweldige personeel! Quido wat ben jij een vrolijke en vriendelijke man! We zullen nog vaak terug denken aan je glimlach en met hoeveel plezier en passie jij je werk doet! Het was een gezellig tochtje met de boot we raden het zeker aan! Voor ons was het de perfecte afsluiter van de vakantie en door quido een mooie ervaring en weekend rijker!

Super vaart, goede service en vriendelijk personeel. Bar was goed geregeld en toiletten waren schoon. Helemaal goed en zeker aan te raden.

Zeer interessante boottocht en vooral bij reservatie via TripAdvisor. Korting van 1 euro op prijs en nog kortingsbonnen voor lunch of diner in de De LUNCH. Totaal €8 korting. Bezoek aan Marken echt prachtig.

Heerlijk uurtje varen plus toeristisch amusement

We hadden via Tours en tickets boottocht, foto in klederdracht, bezoek Droste fabriek, koffie of thee met wafel en demonstratie kaasmaken geboekt. Boottocht en foto waren top, echter thee/koffie en wafel waren to go, dus niet even lekker zitten. Droste fabriek was een super klein museumpje, demonstratie kaasmaken was op tv. Wel een plus waren de kortingsbonnen voor de taveerne in Marken waar we lekker geluncht hebben.

Leuke ervaring

Erg leuke ervaring, heerlijk om te doen met mooi weer! Als je op marken bent en je wilt naar de vuurtoren moet je nog wel een behoorlijk stuk lopen of fietsen. Maar verder leuk om een keer gedaan te hebben.
