Wagha Border tour (Private tour)

Good trip!

We had never been to the border tour before. I am very satisfied with my experience with Viator. Our guide was extremely attentive and punctual. He was also quite knowledgeable about the Amritsar area, and made some really good recommendations for food and shopping.

Excellent Tour and Exceptional guide.

Our tour guide Narinder was a lovely friendly man, communicated regularly with us regarding the tour. Picked us up from hotel . Took us to the boarder for the ceremony, explained so much about the culture, traditions and history on the way. Can't recommend this tour and guide enough. Excellent time, big thanks to Narinder.

A good experience

A very enjoyable afternoon / evening. A high energy carnival-like atmosphere of music, impromptu Bollywood dancing by the audience, goose-stepping & yelling. A pity that audiance numbers were not matched on the Pakistan side, but definately worth seeing. It was good to see some light-hearted fun derived from the ongoing political tensions!

Wagha Border

We were a group of 3 girls and arranged the Wagha Border Tour with Narinder via Tripadvisor. Communication from booking to our arrival was excellent. He is very knowledgeable and explained the history of Amritsar. As it was our first girls trip to Amritsar, we felt slightly apprehensive but Narinder was funny, down to earth and we we felt safe in his company. He arranged Taxi's for us to visit other attractions and his prices were very reasonable - we didn't feel we were being ripped off as tourists. I would definitely recommend Narinder and his company.

Outstanding Tour and Timely Communication

Our Wagah Border tour was outstanding. Narinder contacted me once I booked my tour to introduce himself which was a nice touch. He explained the history in great detail and made sure we got good seats. The wagah border ceremony was very memorable for especially for my parents Also he was able to book my airport transfer as well. He communicated with me constantly to make sure arrival departure went smoothly.

A must do in Amritsar

Amrik our tour guide was excellent. He was polite and kind. He gave us very good tips to make our tour enjoyable and his knowledge about the history of the city was a good way to past the time during the drive. We had a very positive experience and would highly recommend this tour to our friends.

Perfect tour

We had a great time. Everything was perfect. We did another tour with Narinder and Aamrik. All in all best experience. They were great with kids. They also arranged vip booking for us.

A great tour of the boarder, a must see!

Such an amazing day at the boarder. We were picked up on time and shown around the sites leading up to the boarder. Our guide was incredibly kind and nice and was very knowledgeable about the current climate of political affairs which I found interesting and enjoyable to learn about. He was always willing to answer any question. We had the VIP line at the boarder because we were foreigners and our guide gave us tips for the best seats. The ceremony was amazing, the Indian people are very patriotic (wish it was like that in USA). Definitely a must see tour if you’re in Amritsar.

Amazing ceremony, best driver/guide

Our guide was very good, informative and got us to the ceremony in plenty of time for us to get good seats. He navigated the security check points so that it was a seamless entry.

Beat the queues

Narinder, our guide was brilliant. He has passes and contacts so we breezed past lots of queues. We also did the Golden temple tour with him. We got an exclusive behind the scenes view of the kitchens and a fantastic history lesson. Book Narinder for all your Amritsar tours!

Quintessentially Amritsar!

We had a great day exploring Amritsar and the Atari border with Narinder, he shared a lot of history and interesting stories about how the city has developed from its historical past. Narinder was helpful and took time to ensure we were taken care of every step of the way. Great Experience and Great Guide

Certainly an experience like never before, great atmosphere. The gem of the whole tour, Narinder. Truly priceless guide cum driver, my Prince of Amritsar. My first trip was certainly made special by his conscientiousness, punctuality & knowledge of all things Amritsar. Solo travel to Wagah border crossing

If you are looking for a well priced, non pressurising tour guide during your stay in Amritsar, then I would certainly recommend this guy. I used Narindars services yesterday to take me to the Wagah border crossing and it proved to be a great excursion. I liked the fact that he drove the car himself and that we would therefore have the chance to chat about the history and politics of the border on the journey, without the hassle of using public transport. His English is good so our conversation flowed and he proved very knowledgable. Narendra has a very gentle and warm personality and provided a terrific service. Narinder was on time. Car was clean, bottled water was provided. His knowledge on the history of Amritsar was vast, I’m a history buff so it was great listening to a fellow history buff Wagah experience was great, what a show. His tips to get good seats and to avoid human and road traffic definitely came in handy

Excellent trip

I had an excellent trip with Narinder to the Wagha Border ceremony. I won’t repeat what others have written about the ceremony except to say that it is well worth making the time to see it. But the tour with Narinder was much more than that, on our way through Amritsar Narinder was pointing out different sights and spoke about the history and people too. There are a couple of interesting stops included with one being the Attari Railway station. There were plenty of communications before the trip and I would recommend this tour.

Magnificent in its total absurdity😁

Great experience. Narinder was an accomplished guide who had a couple of important advantages which, in our opinion, gave him the edge over other Wagah border tour options. Firstly his "hidden gem" in the way to the border....both "hidden" (no other tourists) and "gem" (fascinating historical site), sorry, no more spoilers😁. Also, he had a special parking permit, which enabled us to park close to the amphitheatre, and importantly, make a quick escape at the end of the ceremony, which I estimate saved us at least an hour of our day. As to the event, I've seen many things throughout the world, but have to say this was unique, on the one hand , whipping up a blind nationalistic fervour, on the other hand, witnessing a perfectly choreographed "pantomime villain" show. It was difficult to know whether to be horrified by the shortcomings of the human condition, or revel in the total, over-the-top absurdity of it all. In the end we left the place with broad smiles on our faces😁👍

Memorable experience and excellent guide

We had a very nice and memorable experience at Wagah border ! Narinder was very helpful throughout the tour and ensured that we had the best viewing experience. We also visited Khalsa college, Attari station on the way to the wagah border. Narinder kept sharing good information about all the places which made the tour very interesting. Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Amritsar!

Indian pride at it’s best

We had a fantastic trip with our guide Narinder. He was very knowledgeable and helpful with tips on where to sit to get the best view etc. we even had a couple of interesting short stops on the way. The border ceremony itself is full of passion and pride and is truly a sight to behold. I can’t recommend this trip, or our guide Nirander, enough!

Truly Amazing!!

Mr. Narinder the guide was a super gentlemen and so humble and friendly. He has taken extra initiative to make sure we are safe and placed in right seats well before the WB ceremony starts. Mr. Narinder is knowledgeable about the history of Panjab and the Attari stories. we really enjoyed the company of this family man. We truely suggest to use your guide if you plan to visit Amritsar. He made our trip so interesting and informative.

Excellent tour with knowledgeable guide

While searching for the tour to Wagha Border we encounter the local guide Narinder and hi presented us the offer in such a way that the temptation to use his services was irresistible. We had just one afternoon to make the trip and we were lucky that he was available that afternoon. We made the appointment at the gate of the Partitioning Museum at 2:30 and Narinder was waiting for us. We took his car and went first to see the old fort sarovar where we had an opportunity to see beautiful wall paintings and the old structures the stories of which Narinder told us in very detail. Then we drove to the border just on time to enjoy the event. Narinder explained to us the procedure of getting in, showed the right path and explained which places we should take to get the best views of the ceremony. After the ceremony he was waiting for us in the agreed place and drove us back to our hotel. Narinder's service was so good that we agreed that the next morning we will take the walking tour of Amritsar with him. We highly recommend his services as he has extensive knowledge and very good contact with his tourists. He is a careful driver and a good friend who was able to explain during the drive many complexities of that part of India.

It was just an outstanding experience! The vibe of the show was just so pumping and exciting. Narender ji made sure we have a smooth and great time. He was on time and made it very interesting with his insights and knowledge. Would definitely recommend it.

Great private afternoon border tour with lots of music, fun and ceremony with a proud professional guide.

Was a very entertaining tour, with a few stops on the way to border ceremony and Narinder went out of his way to facilitate great photos and provide lots of local knowledge. The border ceremony was like watching a Bollywood film with lots of singing and dancing before the actual ceremony. Narinder also gave the best tip of getting us in as VIPs and a quick exit after the flag was lowered

Visit to Wagha Border.

Narinder our guide picked us up from our hotel and en route to the border, he showed us some really interesting sights which would not be visited by the majority of tourists. At the border, he advised us on the best places to sit to view the proceedings. Narinder is a great guide, very knowledgeable and personable, he also gave us great recommendations for places to eat and drink!

Incredible opportunity and Gem of a guide

Incredible experience visiting the Attari border. Narinder is extremely knowledgeable and has a great grasp over English. Matching our pace with patience and poise, Narinder made sure we were comfortable and got the best seats possible. Our guide Narinder was a great guy and was very knowledgeable. He also took us to golden temple, change money for us and gave us a ride from the hotel to the airport. My sister left her power bank in his car and he was nice enough to drive to the airport to give it back to us. Strongly recommend!

Great experience! I feel fortunate to have found Narinder Uppal when I was visiting the Golden Temple. At first, I thought I'd try to do the Wagah border excursion on my own, and didn't plan ahead or research the particulars, but you really do need a guide, which makes it much easier and more enjoyable. Narinder made my border visit easy for me to accomplish and has many tips and advisories on how to avoid long lines, where to sit, when to show your passport to the military guards who oversee the whole operation, and also when to leave to avoid long lines departing the complex. Narinder has been a guide since he was 16 (his dad started the biz) and he is from Amritsar so he knows his way around like the back of his hand. His English is excellent, his demeanor so pleasant, and if you're going to spend time with a guide, you'll be glad you have him. He has an excellent auto with strong AC, which you will want! Overall, I'd say that he is the best guide I've had in India!

Great Tour!

This is definitely the way to see the flag-lowering ceremony at the India-Pakistan border. You’re picked up at your hotel and the drive takes about half an hour, I would guess, but, along the way and before you leave town, you stop at the Khalsa College, which your driver explains the very interesting history of the place. Then, on the way, you’re told about various interesting facts from a well-informed driver. Just before the Wagah border, the driver stops at Attari train station for a short explanation of the significance of the place, the (former) last stop before entering Pakistan. When you get to the border, the driver/guide leads you all the way until it’s “foreigners only” and you sit in the VIP section for the show. Afterwords, your driver meets you at the assigned spot and you’re whisked back to Amritsar where you are dropped off at your hotel or wherever you want. Now, a special shout out to my driver, Narinder, who was such a good driver and guide that I organised to do the Golden Temple tour in the Amritsar City Tour the company runs. For that, you’ll have to check that review out, but, to put it succinctly, that was just as informative and enjoyable!

I joined a tour to Wagah Border and Pul Kanjri with Narinder and it was amazing. Narinder is a professional, knowledgeable, and patient tourist guide who is passionate on showing you around and telling you about the funny historic facts. He's also open to your any question about India. Highly recommend Narinder to be your guide!

Excellent Care at the Border

Narinder gave us (my two children and me) an excellent experience on our visit to the Wagah Border ceremony. He picked us up promptly, took us to several interesting sites along the way to the border, got us in the VIP entrance, and advised good seats. The ceremony itself was amazing and worth the scorching July heat to witness. Our drive home was so pleasant as we chatted with Narinder the whole way about the agriculture and culture of Punjab. He was knowledgable and passionate about his region, and it was so fun to ask all my questions and get his perspective. Thank you, Narinder!

We hired a driver for day trip to Wagah boarder. The driver were extremely kind, knowledgeable and speaks good English. He was very friendly and always did his best to satisfy all our demands. We felt very safe. The car was clean and confortable and we couldn't wish for a better service.

Excellent tour. Narinder made us feel very safe and took the extra time to stop off at attractions along the way for photo opportunities and to provide historical information. Arriving at the wagah boarder, he made sure you got to your seats and was waiting at the meeting spot as soon as it finished. Throughly recommend Narinder as a tour guide as you won’t need to worry about time keeping or safety. We would definitely recommend to anyone coming to Amritsar 😊

Great trip to the border

My wife and I had the opportunity to visit the Wagah Border while visiting the Punjab in February 2023. Narinder was a fantastic guide. He had been recommended to me by a good friend, and his tour and insights did not disappoint. The border ceremony is equal parts nationalistic pride and entertainment showcase. Narinder is an absolutely great guide and we look forward to working with him again on a future visit.

Amazing experience at Wagha Border

The tour was very well managed. It wasn't a simple pick up and drop but Uppal gave us lot of info on the way to Wagha Border, about the Amritsar city, the city gates, khalsa college, attari junction and wagha border. It was worth it.

I did a tour of Amritsar and some occasional side trips away from the city with Uppal. He has been an amazing guide and was able to cater to my limited time in the city. Brilliant experience!!

Brilliant!! The hospitality, the care, the attention to the small things, true customer delight!! From the pre-tour date communication to the actual tour day, Narender was prompt, courteous, and accommodating. We were a group of 4 adults and 1 Kid, the drive to Atari was smooth and we got the best seats in the house all thanks to Narender! My daughter enjoyed the border retreat experience thoroughly. The Golden Temple tour was as efficient as it could be. As a group of first-timers, I do not think we could have managed the entry, tour, navigation of the lines etc without Narender's help. Great experience in Amritsar

Thanks to Narinder to make the short weekend trip to Amritsar worth it. I did Wagah Border tour and city tour that covers Golden Temple, Jallianwala, Durgina Temple and walk in old town. Walking in the world’s largest community canteen was great experience and Narinder was really able to show you around including food preparation area. He was punctual, trusty (I forgot my DSLR camera in his car and he came back to my hotel to return it to me) and knowledgeable about history and culture which you would want to understand when visiting places in Amritsar. Highly recommended Amritsar with Narinder!
