Amazing tour and tour guide.

We had the pleasure of experiencing the Amritsar Food Tour. The street food tour offered a fantastic culinary experience, the food was delicious, we were taken to all the hidden gems located in the back streets. We enjoyed the proper authentic buttermilk sweet lassi the most! Highly recommend this tour. It was amazing!! We came away informed and full. 🫶🏼

Must try food tour !

Food was amazing ! Very educational. Gives a lot of insight into food production and history of food in Amritsar. Highly recommend. Very down to Earth- willing to adapt schedule to you. Leaving Amritsar with a lot of knowledge !

We had taken the food tour .we were disappointed to see that d food tour comprised of tasting just Kulcha batura . The guide was more interested in talking about his farming rather than taking us to key authentic Punjabi cuisine experiences . I will not recommend for this tour .

I highly recommend our tour guide Amrit, who provided us with one of a kind food experience. He educated us on how to identify traditional good eateries. Always look for the kitchen on the front of the store. You can see how clean and organized it is. The food was tasty and healthy. He is passionate to share the culture, religios and heritage of the Armitsar

Great time with the legend Amrit

My family's tour of Amritsar with Amrit from Planet Amritsar in December 2023 was an absolute delight! Over three days, we experienced an incredible journey, starting from the serene Golden Temple on the first day (with access to the kitchen in the back) and an amazing food walk to exploring his farm and house on the second, and culminating with a visit to the Partition Museum on the third. Amrit's extensive knowledge of Punjab's history, Sikhism, and related topics was impressive, offering us a deep understanding of the region. What stood out was his refreshing and modern approach, especially being a guide in his 20s, providing a unique perspective. Amrit also seems to be well integrated into the community which was beneficial to us as we got to sit at and eat at traditional food places in the old town. Highly recommended for an enriching and enjoyable trip to Amritsar! Can't wait for our invite to Amrit's wedding next year 😁

Skip the tourist traps, and get to the original Amritsari food with Amrit!

We had the best time with Amrit! He took us to some absolute hidden gems, and explained in detail about how they have retained the original cooking techniques that has made Amritsari food so famous over the years. It was all very fascinating. We had deep discussions about everything from Sikhism, to food, farming, more. This tour is a must do if you are in Amritsar and want to experience it through the eyes of an OG! Also the food was absolutely amazing!

A wonderful insight into Punjabi food & Sikh culture

Amrit was an excellent guide with in-depth local knowledge. It was fascinating to roam around the maze of alleys sampling a variety of delicious dishes. The dhabs are traditional eateries where you walk through the kitchen as you enter, seeing dishes being freshly prepared. Everything was hygienic & we can reassure you that we had no stomach issues. My personal favourite was the lassi. Highly recommend this tour!

Come for the food, stay for the history

Fantastic tour - the food was delicious, but so was the information. Incredibly informative about the Sikh culture and history, as well as all history related to India and Punjab. Would highly recommend.

Most do walking tour with many wonderful hidden places and amazing food.

Amazing experience! Definitely recommend if you want to see some of the real Amritsar culture and food. One of the most interesting tours we’ve done. We learned a lot about the history of the city and all religions that are a part of it. We visited some hidden places and all the food was incredible. It also took away all our doubts about where to eat and where not to eat. If you have the chance, you will not regret doing this tour.

Amritsari Kulche

It was a wholesome experience. Not only did we have amazing food, we also shared amazing stories of history, culture, religion etc. Amrit was extremely engaging and sincere. You could sense that he loves what he does because you will surely be transcending to the times of history. Make sure you take up this tour if you want to return with something more than just photos.

Come hungry!

This tour is a great way to safely sample the best foods in the old city of Amritsar. Come hungry; you'll be stuffed by the end of it. Amritpal is a great guide and will teach you a lot about the foods you are eating, the city, and Sikhism.

Safe, tasty, friendly food tour with Amrit

Amrit was a great tour guide who made us feel safe, took us to eat tasty meals, and was very friendly. He provided us with the historical information behind the food, the history behind parts of the city and India in general. The willingness to answer in detail any random question we had was very much appreciated. 10/10 would highly recommend! My stomach was full and enjoyed every bite!

Good walking tour to experience local food and culture

Amrit was a great host. This was a 2 hour walking tour in the lanes of the old part of Amritsar. The food was good and we liked the perspective on culture, local stories and the history he shared with us.

A fantastic tour

A very enjoyable tour round old Amritsar with tasting legendary dishes from traditional places. And seeing many interesting cultural things in between. Amritpal knows Amritsar inside out and is a great communicator. I enjoyed every minute of it. Oh, and the food was superb too.

To say this was a mere food walk would be nothing but injustice. The discussion and learning i had with Amrit was gold . From history ,politics to spirituality it had all . It was indeed a soul ful food walk and talk . Cannot recommend more ...

Authentic Amritsar

Well, I'm eagerly waiting for my next tour of the Golden Temple with Planet Amritsar. What will make the walk special is the guide who is Amrit also the co founder of the company. Very knowledgeble young energetic chap, knows how to make the walk engaging and informative. You'll definitely enjoy the food if you're looking for flavor and AUTHENTICITY. If you're having second thoughts, don't hold yourself back. You're already reading reviews hence you're interested. My suggestion, book the evening time and end your night on a good note. The food experience with Amritpal is an opportunity to safely explore the alley ways of old Amritsar whilst tasting excellent, varied Local delicacies. Amritpal is an excellent guide who understands what the traveller desires in an experience. Highly recommended.

Perfect experience

Amritpal is an incredibly gifted guide. I learned a lot about Sikhism, the history of the old city, and his experience growing up in the area. His thoughtfully curated food stops ( which were all delicious and what I hoped for) paired with the enjoyable conversation made it a perfect experience.

Best food in Amritsar!

This was recommended to us by friends and it didn’t disappoint. Karan was brilliant and is a fountain of knowledge. We had some really tasty dishes in the back streets of Amritsar which we wouldn’t have seen as well as Karan’s experience and stories. We learnt a lot and would highly recommend for anyone travelling to Amritsar who is wanting a foodie and cultural experience.

His temple tour is absolutely magical where he goes deep into the history of the Golden Temple as he shares some fascinating stories about Sikhs & Sikhism. Amrit’s food tour is even more delightful as you walk with him through the tiny by lanes of the market discovering gem after gem. Make sure you go with an empty stomach and I promise you’ll be out with a heart full. Amrit is the best host & a truly wonderful human. He was kind enough to invite us to his home so we could taste some amazing home cooked food and spend an afternoon in the fileds. Amrit made our Amritsar tour so memorable. It was a perfect blend of learning and adventure.

Where Do I begin it was an outstanding experience and surpassed our expectations. Amrit will tell you so much about the history of the city. I would recommend you ask his questions about Sikhism there were so many wrong assumptions we had about the religion which he helped clear up. The food places were perfectly selected and really really old, this was best evening we spent in the city.

Amritpal is highly Knowledgeable and is a very genuine & kind hearted person. We really had a great experience him. He explains everything in detail about the history of Golden Temple, all gurudwara in the same. He also explains about the biography of all Sikh gurus and their sacrifices. He also take us inside the gaint kitchen We book it for 4:00am in the morning when the Departure of Palki Sahib from Sri Akal Takhat Sahib happens. I highly recommend this experience to everyone who wants to explore the history and feel Sri Hirmandar Sahib..!!

Great food tour with Amrit

Our food tour with Amrit was amazing. He took us to some of the hidden gems of Amritsar. He curated this list of food places after trying food from different joints for 6 months. Must try the Phirni and Aloo Kulcha place. He was so knowledgeable and spoke so passionately about the culture and city. You will be amazed by his clientele, a must try in Amritsar.

Highly recommend the Amritsar food walk

My partner and I went on the food walk with tour guide Amrit. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone visiting Amritsar. We had tried some of the foods before, but the versions we tasted on this tour were exemplary. The eateries we visited were local favourites, so they were all very busy and popular, but Amrit navigated the crowds so we could relax. We also enjoyed talking to Amrit about life in Punjab, and the history and culture of the region, particularly regarding the Sikhs.

A very informative and interesting tour

A great exploration of the hidden food gems of Amritsar. The highlight for me was the Amazing lassi, it was so good we went back the next day for a 2nd helping.

Great..Amritsar has a lot to offer other than the spiritual energy. This was experienced by us on this food walk. Karan was phenomenal with his choice of places and kept us engaged throughout the tour with his stories. Really loved this opportunity to explore the nightlife of Amritsar. This food walk was fantastic! The food we tried was the best we ate during our 6-day visit to Amritsar, and we were introduced to some new foods too. I felt that every place we went was hygienic and safe, in addition to being delicious. Amrit is an amazing storyteller and I left feeling that I would like to be friends with him! I would recommend this tour to anyone I know who is visiting Amritsar.
