From San José: Arenal Volcano and Hot Springs with Lunch

Fraud tour

Useless experience , charged for volcano and baldi springs but was taken directly to resort without even showing the glimpse of volcano The whole trip was a waste of time, flight , hotel plus 300 for the tour for 2 people . Total disappointed and felt like cheated .

Good Baldi hot spring, volcano seeing is weather dependent

picked up was very early at 5:30am. We were taken to a restaurant for breakfast but it was self funded. We already ate breakfast in our apartment-hotel. It generally takes a long time to drive to a destination. We only spent 20 minutes in the volcano and the cloud was covering it so not much to see. We spent almost 5 hours in the Baldi hot spring and that resort was nice because it has many pools. I hope their lockers and changing rooms are bigger and easier to use and it cost $7 USD / locker.

Best Tour ever.

Absolutely LOVED this tour!! I went solo and met another solo traveler there and we hung out together. The ride there was smooth and comfortable, the lunch they provided was super delicious!! The warm water was so soothing. I loved it so much!! 🇨🇷🌴🦦

Terrible - save your money

Save your money. Tour guide and driver did not interact with group (4) at all. Basically just a taxi service. Only spent 15-20 minutes at the volcano. Guide had nothing to add..no history, anything. Driver and guide were very unprofessional. Such a waste, 4 hrs at hot springs…left on your own. 4 hrs is a bit extreme when CR has so much to see/do

Relaxing Tour with Stunning Views

If you're looking for minimal activity and more relaxation, this tour is perfect. The viewpoint for Arenal Volcano is breathtaking, and the hot springs at Baldi are incredibly soothing. There's also a spa if you’re in the mood for a massage—I tried it, and it was amazing. The tour bus is spacious and comfortable, and the driver was excellent. It’s the best tour bus driving experience I’ve had in Costa Rica. Nela, the tour guide, is very patient and knowledgeable, making the trip even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this tour, especially towards the end of your vacation when you’re seeking more leisure than adventure.

Long day. A little boring

It turned about to be a long. 6 hrs total in a very uncomfortable bus. The baldi spa was ok. All of the pools went from Hot to extremely Hot. No pools to cool down in. Was there for 4 hours and got bored. Can only my stay in a spa setting for so long.

They were a NO SHOW ! Wasted money and day!

My friend and I booked this tour more than 24 hours ahead. We contacted them 3x the day before to confirm pick up location and time. We woke up super early, called them to confirm again, got to our pick up spot and they NEVER showed up. Extremely disappointed and frustrated as our last day in Costa Rica was ruined with no other plans. STOP TAKING PEOPLE’S MONEY FOR A SERVICE YOU DONT INTEND TO PROVIDE! Shame on you guys!

Incredible tour

Our tour guide was incredible. First our meeting point was at 6am when we woke up, our car battery died and couldn’t find a jump. By the time we call the car company for help it was already 6:30am. I tried to cancel but it was too late, the tour company came to pick us up which was incredibly thoughtful (thank you for that). The tour to La fortuna was very insightful. The volcano was awesome then OMG the Baldi was to die for, I could stay there all day. Hot water everywhere from the entrance until the end, nonstop, I loved it. Next time I’m in Costa Rica I’m definitely staying in the Caribbean side for sure.

Hot Springs only

The best part of the trip was the Hot Springs only. The rest of the trip was not a great exploration

Great one day experience...

Great one day experience if you don’t have more time to spend in the Arenal area. Baldi hot springs were beautiful and so relaxing!

Skip this tour…overall very disappointing

This trip was a big disappointment - first, the tour guide was awful. She was disorganized and unprepared. It was never advertised that this was a mixed Spanish and English tour. The stop at Arenal volcano was just that - a stop to look at the volcano. She didn’t provide much information at all. Then Baldi - we had to wait in line - it did not seem that the tour co had pre-arranged our visit - took awhile to get wrist bands etc. She didn’t know anything about the place including info on lockers and towels. Also, we were told pick up between 7-8 - tried to get a better handle on the exact time through the app but unable to contact the tour co. We were picked up at 8:30. Never mentioned anywhere that the tour would not get back to San Jose until after 8 pm - missed our dinner reservations. Just a bad experience overall.

arenal volcano and baldi springs was ok. best experience is to stay close to lafortuna and see the places . travel back and from san jose is miserable

Amazing

Amazing experience. Marcela was a very good instructor. Arenal visit is short but we spent around 4 hours in Baldi hot springs. Great views !

HOT SPRINGS FUN

The volcano was covered in smoke but I still give this experience 10/10 the guide was so bubbly and sweet! When we got to the hot springs I was in love I didn’t want to leave we spent a good 4 hours there and it was therapeutic! The food was amazing (buffet style ) and drinks were great as well. This was probably my fav experience on the trip this far.
