Great Day Out From Airlie Beach

Kaz and Cass were great hosts and we had a fantastic day out. Beautiful beaches, superb snorkelling, a luscious lunch and cracking crew.

Such an awesome day out in the Whitsundays!! Amazing snorkelling and unbelievable sightseeing. We were so lucky to have PK and Gus guiding us through the day. PK was so fun and extremely informative and Gus was just as amazing and the perfect guide. They are seriously like the dream team !! One of the best and most fun experiences we have ever had.

Highly recommended especially for first time snorkelers

The trip was amazing! Right from the start the Red Cat crew made us feel welcome and that we were in safe hands. The snorkeling was unreal. The coral reef and tropical fish were stunning. We even saw turtles. Gus and PK explained everything that was going to happen in an easily understandable way which was perfect for two nervous neurodivergent people that had never snorkeled before. We felt totally safe and cared for. They were also heaps of fun and really made the day special. A truly once in a lifetime experience.

stayed here and loved my stay, food was good room was clean and tidy always, beach lovely and clean, life guard always working and keeping the beach area clean his a hard worker, the one who dancing and sings, I cant remember his name which is a shame, Even though this time around i never stayed here i came for food and drinks and to use the beach, they were always accommodating AlWAYS.... The waitress i cant remember her name which is bad of me because she had BRILLIANT customer service even my partner who i was there with said, she was amazing every time, she never missed. Just her customer service alone will make us keep on coming back, yes the food was great and the food, the whole atmosphere here is great. Martina

What a day!

Unbelievable day trip that was made even better by the great crew on board, mark and will went above and beyond to make the trip entertaining & informative. The views at Whitehaven were incredible and we were very lucky to come across 2 of the most chilled turtles during one of our snorkels.

Red Cat..snorkels, lookout, Whitehaven AMAZING!

This trip was over and above the best day! Mark and Will on red cat 2 were knowledgeable, fun, safety first, and just went that extra mile to make our day memorable! It was 5 knots breeze only, a 26 degree day, and spectacular trip around to 2x snorkelling at 2 different sights. Fish and coral! Galore.. Thankyou soooo much. And to the lady on the ukulele and the lady who drove us from our hotels in the pick up bus. Thankyou..it was magic..

Magical ocean adventure

Amazing day! We had an amazing captain P.K who has a great sense of humour and wealth of knowledge, the history P.K spoke of within the islands and the genuine respect behind it is admirable, I could listen to him talk about it all day, we also had Kurt as a guide and he was beaming with energy, getting everyone pumped up for a good time, keeping the energy up, he took time out to teach a couple of members of our tour who didn't know how to and some lacking confidence in swimming how to swim, he had patience and genuine kindness, P.K and Kurt made our tour what it was, we got to see some beautiful coral reef and amazing schools of fish, whitehaven and the inlet were beautiful, I wish we had more time there as it was magical 🥰. Big thank you to both gentlemen for a fantastic day!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. We really liked the connection with the traditional custodians and the James Cook University. Great lunch. Beautifull snorkeling spots. Sufficient time at Whitehaven beach. It was fun!!!

Had a great experience right from the start. Incredible snorkelling locations and there was never a dull moment on the boat. The Red Cat crew brought top-tier service and unmatched professionalism. 5 Star plus experience.

What a great experience - everything from our initial booking to our drop off back at Airlie Beach town centre at 5pm went like clockwork. Email communication was prompt, the pick up at 8.30am from the pre-determined location was on time & courteous. We were transported to the marina, fitted out with wet suits & before we knew it we were on our way in the very fast Thundercat - Be warned, it goes fast & it is open so rug up with a wind breaker or towel. Running out of space here, but want to say you WILL LOVE this experience - the crew, the boat, the lunch. the snacks, the sites are all SUPERB - you will not be disappointed. My wife & I in our 70's enjoyed it as much (if not more) as the younger ones on board. We were not made to feel any different because of our ages - passengers & crew were terrific. A very special Thank You to Lauren & Rosie for looking after everyone all day & giving us a very memorable experience.

Best snorkelling !

We loved the tour! We lucked out with amazing weather. Each destination was long enough but not too long. The food was great! Incredible snorkelling spots and Will was a wonderful tour guide, funny, knowledgeable and easy going.

An experience of a lifetime

An amazing experience. The right mix of high-speed boating, exploring, beaching and picture taking at Whitehaven beach and jaw-dropping snorkeling with mostly great sunshine. Good snacks and lunch in between. The crew found the right amount of good jokes, caring and instructing (shout out for his leadership to Will), an excellent sense of timing (which made everybody relax), not the least with respect to the playlist which hit the right nerve at every (upbeat or relaxing) instant for all generations present on board. Dave was the excellent captain who steered us across the sometimes ripply water very smoothly. Smiling faces all around.

Amazing

The whitsundays tour was an amazing day out for me and my friends. We were with crew members Kaz and Shannon, who were great craic and were able to explain a lot about the whitsundays and snorkel sights that we visited.

Great tour on the Thundercat boat on the 2th Jun in the Red group on a Red boat with a red headed PK, Jess, Cathy and the lovely lady who pick us up with shuttle were all excellent at accommodating the full boat. The two snorkling locations are amazing and plenty of exotic fish and coral reef to admire. A pretty decent lunch for being mostly prepared fresh on the boat. Good banter between the other tour boat and guides while out on the water Would highly recommend this tour

Great day! Awesome snorkeling!

Great experience! Loved the snorkeling and Whitehaven. Amber and Lauren were fantastic! Very enthusiastic and passionate. We were cold on the way from snorkeling to Whitehaven in wet swimmers, even with a jumper, so would have been lovely to lunch in the sun on Whitehaven rather than the boat. Other than that, it was a great day!

Sea, sand and snorkel - great whole family adventure

Exceeded expectations and left wonderful memories 👌🏽 We took our three young kids on tour and seeing how much they enjoyed the experience was the highlight of the day. Riley and Gus were engaging, competent and very interactive with the kids - even when the two year old wasn’t sure about the fast boat. If you were visiting Airlie, this activity covers it all - reasonable hike to Hill Inlet to soak up the views, free time on Whitehaven to take in its brilliance, and getting up close snorkelling with the fish! Great tour - well done team!

So many beautiful tropical fish

PK and Amber were amazing.. From pick up to drop off we had an awesome experience. We had the most perfect day out on the water: visibility was great, we couldn’t believe the amount of fish we got to swim while the, I’d highly recommend the tour.

Amazing day out with fantastic guides

Had an amazing day with Mark and Shannon as our guides. Despite the rain making it a damp start, Shannon’s enthusiasm and passion for talking about the reef and wildlife came shining through! The snorkelling at both the fish and the reef was great and a really fun experience. Whitsunday island and Whitehaven beach were stunningly beautiful and stingrays were very comfortable up close with people. Word of warning - you will definitely get very wet on the boat journey so come prepared - but it just adds to the fun and the intensity of the experience!

Fantastic experience!

Me and my partner from Ireland & Scotland brought our family on this tour to show them Whitehaven beach. Shoutout to workers Jamie & Zack, made the experience absolutely brilliant. Great tour, great food and great atmosphere! Totally recommend for families/couples!

Great day out

We had fantastic day, Whitehaven Beach was beautiful, even with a few showers. We were blown away with the snorkeling, so many beautiful fish, coral was amazing. Our skipper Rhys and his assistant (forgot her name, long blond hair) made a great team. They couldn’t be more helpful. Snacks and lunch were very good. Great day out.

Best Day Ever!!

We spent my 40th Birthday on board the Red Cat Adventure boat with Rosie and PK, what a great experience we had. They kept our group spirts up the whole day with their fun energy and great team work was outstanding. I forgot my wetsuit and PK let me borrow his.... thanks PK. When we walked away from the boat my daughter said I will never forget PK that was the best experience with his upbeat personality. We will be back!

The best tour on The Whitsundays.

This was hands down the best tour I've ever been on. Anthony, our host was amazing. So full of great knowledge and lots of fun as well. Whitehaven Beach was incredible. Everywhere you looked was picture perfect. The water was crystal clear and beautiful to swim in. The snorkling experience was outstanding. I never expected to witness the sea life which we saw. It was mind blowing. The size of the fish, well they were enormous and spectacular. The coral was so diverse and colourful. The crew made us feel safe and secure and were always keeping a watchful eye on everyone's safety. Lastly the food we received was fresh and delicious with a bonus skewer of fresh fruit on the way back to shore. If you choose to go on this tour, you will not regret it.

Unforgettable Adventure

The crew were friendly and knowledgeable and ensured everyone felt safe and confident in the water. Whitehaven beach is breathtakingly beautiful - the pure white silica sand and crystal clear turquoise waters are unlike anything I’ve seen before. One of the highlights was Hill Inlet lookout, the panoramic views were stunning and perfect opportunity to capture some photos and snorkeling among the coral reefs was unforgettable.

Brilliant day out with amazing snorkelling

Great day out with some amazing snorkelling. Our guides Will and Dan (or Dave...sorry, mind blank!) were amazing at keeping spirits up despite the bad weather. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the whitsundays.

A bucket-list day out with Red Cat!

This trip is an absolute must-do on the East Coast and we couldn’t be happier that we chose Red Cat to do it with. From seeing Whitehaven beach, and snorkelling with hundreds of fish in the Great Barrier Reef, this definitely helped tick off the bucket list! We were blown away by the views of Whitehaven and the hundreds of beautiful fish that we swam with in the ‘aquarium’ snorkel area. The best part was also the ‘washing machine’.. getting soaked jumping huge waves on the boat whilst listening to great music. We took the trip with Gus, Cass and Payton from red cat and we couldn’t fault them. Gus was super energetic, friendly and funny and Cass shared her wealth of experience and knowledge with us throughout the day. We couldn’t fault them as they made the day so fun and enjoyable. They made it an unforgettable experience. Their passion for the job and the reefs were clear. Thank you !!

Crew members Kaz, Payten and Gus were amazing! The trip was well worth it, we couldn't believe the places we got to visit. There was a great mix between information and fun, the crew really care for the environment which was lovely, they also made sure everyone got the most out of the experience. The trip allowed for independence in exploring Whitehaven which was nice too.

Ocean, fish, food, swim, hike, sunbake, all in this one tour!

I wish there were more stars to give. The whole crew made sure that our time exploring was time worth spent. More importantly, the whole crew made sure we were 100% safe at all times and had a genuine love for the reef and the marine life living in the ecosystem. Snorkeling the reef had always been on my bucket list of things to do and although the weather wasn't fabulous, the reef was still a gorgeous sight to witness. Lunch was also very yummy. To anyone who has fears about sharks, crocs or stingers, the crew are with you the entire time you are snorkeling, and they provide stinger suits for your protection. The sharks you are likely to encounter are harmless reef sharks, so please don't put off doing this experience. You are in good hands.

Amazing experience! Really well organized with hotel pick up, freedom to explore the island and the reef and really good lunch. Our crew (Kaz and Joel) were super nice qnd helpfull and made this experience even better! Recommend it 1000%!

Can’t see anything out of the boat, food was basic and pretty bad, staff were excellent at their job but spent the whole trip talking loudly about their personal lives peppered with numerous swear words which soured the trip

Day to remember

Activity is amazing from the beginning to the end. Whiteheaven was great, snorkling was beautiful, and food was tasty and more than enough. However, the best part of the activity is the service given by the staff. Guides, shuttle driver... everyone. We had a great day! To conclude, Thundercat is above all good value for money

Amazing AAA experience

My husband and I were fortunate enough to celebrate his 60 birthday on an excursion hosted by the awesome team of Dave and Will. They were just super amazing, friendly kind and added such zest to the whole day. Dave was ever reliable and hard working on steering is safely around the islands. Will was a real character, full of sparkle, with genuine enthusiasm and passion for the reef. They both shared knowledge and experiences and ensured our day was special. Will provided information on a guided walk on White Haven beach, snorkeling advice and safety. His sense of humour was much appreciated and contributed to the fun day. The world is definitely a richer place for having these 2 as a team. They are where they belong, on the ocean, educating people and preserving the Whitsunday Islands.

We had such a great time snorkelling the reef! Views were amazing! Will and Dave were so much fun! Both super funny and very knowledgeable about the area definitely made our trip in the Whitsundays! Also we had an issue with the weather and moving our trip but customer service was super super helpful and responsive. Had a great day would absolutely recommend! Thanks again Will and Dave!
