A great way to visit Whitehaven Beach

A great day out with a great crew. Overcast weather made snorkelling visibility not as good but the weather cleared by the time we arrived at Hill Inlet and Whitehaven Beach so we could really enjoy the views and the beach. Plenty of good food provided for lunch.

An unforgettable experience! A must do!

Incredible! Absolutely amazing! Once we left, we pitched up at a snorkelling site seeing all types of fish and wildlife where once you're back on the boat, they then open up the unlimited bar! Following that, they take you to Whitehaven island which truly is one of the most amazing places I've been to and would highly recommend! The staff are so lovely, the BBQ provided is true Australian style and overall an amazing trip! Massive shout out to one of the crew staff, Izzy from Portsmouth, for great chat and great music!!

Great way to kw o the Whitsunday islands

From check in all went smooth, very friendly staff, great snorkelling spot, food and drink package exceptional. Very smooth sailing, coming back to Airlie is a relax and very enjoyable journey

Prettiest place in the world

Thest trip ever. We had never been on a catamaran so we did not know what to expect but the whole day was amazing. The scenery the trip the crew the food, it's hard to separate them into what we enjoyed. The day was a little chilly but did not spoil our trip.

Disappointed cant see hill inlet

We are so so disappointed and sad because we miss the most important activity and point of view : hill inlet. You didn’t explain very well activities in Whitehaven beach. We arrived on the beach and no explanation. We should visit Hill inlet but you delete without explanations for another lookout which was close and ugly. We are so disappointed because we chose this cruise for point of view (hill inlet) and can’t not see it. Our friends chose another cruise the same day and they gone so no reasons to delete, weather was good.

Whitsundays is incredibly beautiful- unreal. Great foods and drinks.

The boat was amazing, the sail was so cool. Loved the happy music and unlimited wine! and lots of food options, plenty of food. We saw the Whitehaven beach and the look out. Lovely mum and young daughter who works on the boat was so lovely and memorable. The snorkelling was great for the reef.

Great day out

It was a super day out. We were fed constantly and there was heaps of soft drinks ,beer and wine. The weather was good. There were around 60 people on board

Value for money

The crew on the Camira couldn’t have done anymore to make the day memorable for everyone. A fantastic day out discovering this beautiful part of the country & definitely value for money. Even as a coeliac, I was more than looked after with full, safe gluten free options available.

Awesome trip

From this tour you can visit the lookout and get on the beach, there is a lot of walk so make sure you get some comfortable shoes or sandals to wear than bear feet Over all it’s fantastic, beautiful boat, lovely crew, nice food and unlimited drinks which is pretty amazing.

Not eco friendly. Terrible uncontrolled destruction of the reef by guests onboard at the fringe reef

We did a full day trip including snorkeling at the fringe reef, and then on to Whitehaven Beach. Cannot fault the staff onboard, but our trip to the reef, was the most beautiful but most tragic thing to see. If you care about the survival of this beautiful reef I would NOT take this tour at all. How it is eco certified is frankly mind blowing. We had to sit back and watch people in our group destroy such absolutely beautiful and healthy coral - literally kicking it to pieces, while the staff (who didn’t like it either) were unable to stop them. We were so distressed to see this that I elected to get out of the water and get back on the boat. I felt awful. I immediately felt partially responsible for buying a ticket and being a part of this day trip at all. The company owners / management have no policy or procedente to pull these people out of the water. Why go there at all - if this is the destruction that’s happening in 1 day? Let alone every day, week, month and year. The staff were lovely and did seem to care but were powerless to do anything really except tell them to stop which they didn’t. To us it became apparent that the company focus at management level was making money despite what they know is happening, keeping the majority happy and just keep the tour there going. It’s clearly not enough to simply tell people to stop standing on the reef - whether they don’t understand or just won’t listen. They should be taken out of the water period. We were in the water about 20 minutes and watched what we would describe as a group of bulls in a china shop literally smashing off chunks of stag coral and stepping all over and standing on soft corals. It was so sad and distressing. Anyone that goes there will see what is happening. I was so horrified that I went and told the staff members there in the water - who asked them to stop, but they just kept doing it. Nobody seemed able to enforce or control anything. Everywhere you look you can see lots of broken coral on the sea floor. At this rate of destruction, there will be little left of it in no time at all. There is NO meaningful protection offered for this beautiful coral and delicate ecosystem. There were staff announcements on board telling everyone NOT to stand on, or touch the coral at all, but only in English. There needs to be better educational videos or other methods, and/ or announcements not only in English but in other languages as well. There needs to be written acknowledgements agreed to and signed that if you are unable to avoid damaging the coral you will be taken out of the water. If you can’t snorkel properly then you shouldn’t be allowed near a delicate ecosystem such as this. The staff on board went around making sure all our medical forms were completed and signed, but nothing like that about the protection for the coral / the reef. The water was so shallow that for anyone who doesn’t know how to snorkel, it was very difficult to avoid kicking the coral. Shouldn’t be there at low tide and perhaps flippers shouldn’t be allowed either. There needs to be policy introduced, and tougher enforcement of that policy. Unsurprisingly, the same people were vaping where they weren’t allowed. Staff had to repeatedly ask the same people multiple times to vape down the back. I personally cared a lot less about the vaping than the blatant uncontrollable damage to the coral. The focus seems to be on pumping out as many tours and making money, keeping them all happy regardless of what happens to the environment. What a shame because the staff were fantastic and really gave it their best. Management needs to get their act together to do something about this. Who will take a stand to protect this beautiful reef if they won’t?

Wow, sooooooo BLUE & WHITE!

Firstly, apologies on the late review! However, we had a fantastic trip out to The Whitsunday Islands, weather perfect (though a bit more wind would have been good as we motored most of the way). Great stop off for reef snorkelling , with the crew well organised and attentive, ensuring everyone’s safety and insisting on everyone who wanted to go in the water wearing the stinger suits. After that more sailing/motoring, eating and drinking to the most amazing beach and sea views we have ever seen! Again the crew kept everyone safe and there was time to spend in the water on the beach of Whitehaven Bay. Be ready for boat transfers to and from the beach but the crew were ready to help out those that needed assistance and point out easier routes to the lookout, the climb up is relatively straight forward on paths but might be harder for those with some restrictions. Overall a great day out, well catered and refreshed! Thanks

This is an amazing experience, all inclusive, plenty of great quality food, great crew in an amazing place. i would recommend to anyone.

Rundown vessel with unreasonable good reviews

Pretty rundown vessel which actually broke down 1 hour into the cruise and therefore screwed up our day. Definitely would need a refit soon if they want to continue to operate. Also a bit of safety concerns as I saw safety pins of doors aren’t functioning anymore and no inflatable life rafts as you know them from other boats…

Professional crew, well organised

Although the weather put a stop to snorkelling and severely drowned out the views and pleasure of the cruise. This of course can’t be helped. It was our only chance to experience the cruise so we made the most of it. The crew were very professional, and done their best to ensure the experience was made enjoyable. The BBQ lunch was a great addition as well as the world famous Cameira Bar!

Thoroughly enjoyed this trip-highly recommend- staff out to make it an enjoyable experience-well worth the money. Food was fantastic..breakfast -BBQ lunch- morning and afternoon tea- drinks as you need. Sixty on board-plenty of space. Friendly staff so professional - fun.

Best Value Full Day Experience EVER!!

My partner and I took to the Whitsundays for a Full-Day Camira Sailing Adventure….. EPIC!!! SO worth every penny! It’s ALL inclusive, they really look after you and you leave feeling like you’ve had a massive experience that’ll stay with you forever! DO IT!!!

Amazing Day

What an amazing day. From the moment you step on foot the purple machine to the sad part of leaving. The staff were amazing all day. Very attentive to your needs. Awesome food and drinks all day. Nice n cold beverages on a high day. Music was good Snorkeling was great and Whitehaven was just beautiful. Definitely recommend this sailing trip 10/10

Amazing staff and nice cruise !

Very good day on a big catamaran with a friendly staff ! A lot of food during all the cruise (4 meals with hot croissants, bbq, free soft drinks and beers, etc.) Despite the rain, the beach and the lookouts are impressive by their beauty. Also a good spot of snorkeling before going back to Airlie beach.

Absolute blast! Highly recommend, great crew, amazing food and drinks, awesome experiences! The only suggestion I’d have is that they played some Latin style, summer-tropical vibes music as well, so you could dance 😄

Fantastic sail trip through the Whitsundays

This was a perfect day trip sailing to the Whitsundays. The staff were on top of everything. The food exceeded my expectations (warm breakfast sandwiches, fresh fruit, snacks throughout the day and a wonderful bar b q lunch with many meat and vegetarian options). A quick stop to Whitehaven beach and snorkeling along the reef were perfect. After snorkeling beer, cider, and wine were offered with more snacks.

Average

The staff were very friendly the food was plentiful burgers sausages and chicken on the barbie. And chocolate cake. We were expecting to go to white haven beach but were taken to chance beach. The snorkel was very crowded. No bathrooms on the boat as far as I could tell.

Amazing time!

The trip was fantastic! The ship, crew and trip were incredible memories. Constant food and drinks, everyone had a great attitude. Only unfortunate thing was due to rough water we could not land at Whithaven Beach which was not their fault.

Amazing value day trip with experienced and friendly staff

From the get-go, staff were enthusiastic, friendly, and up for a good time - you felt in safe, experienced hands with this crew. They were patient and helpful with my mum who struggled a little with the hike, and despite often being the laggard of the group, made us feel included all the way. There was no lack of support from this crew and they made sure you were well fed and hydrated for the entire trip. What I loved about this was being out on the catamaran and not stuck indoors on a big vessel. If you want the wind in your hair as you sail through paradise, this trip is for you. You won’t need headphones, stinger suits or snorkeling gear on this trip - equipment is provided, along with plenty of flotation aids (noodles, vests) and belting tunes through the speaker system. My advice to those travelling with older parents - the hike is tough - my mum and dad are fit for their age but she struggled. Be well hydrated when you go on the hike - you probably need more than one standard bottle of water. The longer you spend taking to get to and being at the lookout, the less time you have at Whitehaven beach, so plan your time accordingly. Thank you so much to the crew for an unforgettable day - we’ve already recommended this trip to people, but like all great deals, you need to book in advance as it’s booked out! Overall, incredible value for such an amazing experience - the balance of activities to relaxation time on deck taking in the stunning scenery was perfect - I’d hope to come back and sail with this lot again!

Fantastic day out

We travelled on the Camira Purple Boat tour on November 16th. Before getting into the meat of the review, I just wanted to point out the unfortunate negatives first. 1. When we checked in at the check-in desk at Port Airlie, we were informed that due to strong northerly winds, there was a chance we may not make it onto Whitehaven Beach (the reason we booked the tour in the first place). (It was disappointing to be informed of this within an hour of departure, as this was the only reason we booked this tour, and so the day started off on a poor note). *these winds only happen 10% of the year, according to a crew member* 2. During our approach to Whitehaven Beach, the captain told us that they were going to “give it a go” with stopping on the north side of the beach, which excited all of us. 10 minutes later, the captain informed us that they’d changed their minds and that we weren’t going to make it onto Whitehaven. This sucked. This sounds like a negative review, but it’s not, as though we didn’t make it onto Whitehaven (though we were led to believe so), we still had one of the best boat trips of our lives. First and foremost, props to the crew who were spectacular, through how helpful and funny they were. They made what could have been a pretty good day out into a fantastic one, and that was all down to how they made everyone feel throughout the trip. Tea, coffee, beer and soft drinks were kept nice and cold on eskis throughout the day, whilst the food on offer was truly delicious and a real highlight. Though not making it onto Whitehaven was a shame, the alternative spot of Chance Bay was beautiful (though a bit busy), and probably one of the best beaches you’ll find. By the end of the day, we were chilling in the sun on a boat ride back to Airlie, downing cold drinks like it was no one’s business, and we realised that regardless of whether we made it onto Whitehaven, we still had a brilliant day out, and that was thanks to the team on the Camira Purple Boat. I’d recommend this trip and this team to anyone.

Best Boat in the Whitsundays

Fantastic day trip out in the Whitsundays. We were looked after from the start to finish, full belly’s all day long. Fantastic crew on board and a big shout out to Clay and Aisling who were so much fun all day! Definitely will be back!

Amazing day out

What an all inclusive amazing trip, everything was 10 out of 10. Boat, staff, food & destination, it was nice to cruise around the Whitsundays on the Camira, it felt more personal than the larger boats & more relaxing than the speed boats, would definitely recommend this trip to any age group.

Brilliant experience!

Really great day out with the family. Plenty of food throughout the day with something for everyone (the children are very picky but they were happy!). Whitsunday Island is beautiful and Whitehaven Bay surpasses every photo - truly breathtaking! We saw stingrays, tropical fish and turtles just swimming around in the warm shallows. There are a lot of steps to the lookouts and beach so definitely bring water and try to be first off the boat to make the most of the two hour window. The snorkeling was also brilliant, the crew really tried hard to deliver an amazing experience despite strong winds and currents. Our 10 year old loved seeing all of the coral and fish, and we got some fantastic photos from our 17 year old using her waterproof case. The boat is very clean and well organised and the crew were extremely friendly and welcoming. There was a great selection of soft drinks; tea/coffee, coke, coke zero, sprite, water and fanta. For alcohol there was cider, lager and white wine. I am a very fussy drinker so although it wasn't to my taste, everyone else was catered to very well. We had a fantastic family day out and mostly lovely people on the boat. The only potential issue would be if we booked as a family but then had stags/hens on the same tour but I'm sure the crew would manage that well. Overall, we highly recommend this tour - just watch out if you have mobility issues as the steps/walking around the boat when sailing/getting in and out of the tenders could be an issue. Thank you to the whole crew for a lovely day!

Great time on Camira!

We had an absolute blast on Camira! The boat was comfortable, they kept us well fed, and the staff was a delight! We loved the snorkeling and the Whitehaven beach lookout was stunning!

Great experience and service by the Cruise Whitsundays staff

I was truly amazed by the fantastic views from the boat, snorkelling and visit to the Whitsunday Island! The quality of service provided by the staff was perfect. Therefore I truly believe that they deserve better working conditions.

Beware booking Camira

We had Camira booked from the UK months ago. The trip was cancelled 1 day before because of industrial action. Locals tell us this has been happening a lot so beware of making a booking. By the time we knew about the cancellation we could not book an alternative .

Incredible

Such an incredible day! Definitely book this trip. The team that run the boat make the day really fun but also take health & safety seriously too. No shortage of food and drink throughout the day. The crew are amazing. The viewpoints - wow. Would 10/10 recommend.

Fabulous day for kids and adults!

We were thrilled with the service provided by the crew of the Camira for our Whitsunday cruise. They were attentive to guest needs and to safety. They added humor and entertainment to every acitivity. The beach is the most spectacular I have ever visited.

A wonderful experience not to be missed

The perfect boat cruise for couples, wonderful crew, very professional with flare and informative. The sale through the waters of the Whitsunday was relaxing with spectacular views along the way. The highlight was Whitehaven bay, a must see. The beach is large and we had it to ourselves. When we returned to the boat we were served a feast of delicious foods for lunch including prawns, salads, BBQ meats. Could not fault this trip. Highly recommend ❤️

Amazing team, amazing day trip adventure

This cruise is a must. A full day out on the ocean with an amazing team. They really looked after the entire boat & its guests with such a happy, competent, generous manner. Snorkelling was great.. Whitehaven Beach was spectacular & the snacks, BBQ & drinks provided were excellent. Great way to experience the Whitsundays! We highly recommend this crew.. whatever they are getting paid - it is not enough! Thanks team 😁

I have just spent the day on the camira and had the most amazing day of my life with my best friend! The staff are so friendly and helpful and can’t recommend the camira enough. Great day out in the Whitsundays!

Awesome!

Such a great way to check out the area, they take you to a gorgeous huge beach, beautiful white sand and crystal clear water for swimming/relaxing. they also take you to a snorkelling spot, we saw lots of different kinds of fish there in various sizes and types from tiny to medium, so many colours! All the gear for snorkelling was provided, there was no additional expenses involved in the boat at all. So much beautiful scenery when sailing in between the spots. I’m seriously impressed by how well fed they keep everyone, the boat fits quite a lot of people so not the easiest to feed everyone, but the food they provide you is pretty damn good, way more than I would have expected and they constantly encourage you to have 2nd, thirds, fourths haha! They did breakfast, snacks, lunch, afternoon snacks. The eskies are constantly well topped up the whole entire time from start to finish for both alcoholic/non alcoholic drinks. Most companies always have a limit on how many alcoholic drinks are available, but not on this boat!! The crew on the boat are honestly just exceptional. Their attitude really adds significant value to the experience, every single one of them are all extremely friendly, they are all bubbly/ conversational always cracking jokes and just have a genuineness to each of them, whatever they’re being paid it should be more as they are so fantastic! I highly recommend doing this experience, great value for money.

Amazing Experience but Exploitative Company that don’t pay their staff

We had an amazing time on the Camira. The activities were really well organised, everything ran so smoothly and the staff were incredible! So fun, professional and clearly very skilled at their jobs. The food was great very accommodating for vegetarians and dietary requirements. It was the perfect way to see whitsundays island if you only have the day. I would have definitely recommended to friends except the company treats their staff horribly, they’ve been in dispute over a liveable wage for MONTHS now and it has gotten to the point of wage theft. So disappointing to hear especially with how incredible the staff are and professional despite being exploited by this company they still care and put guest experience first. Until you pay your staff what they are owed I won’t be recommending or rebooking again

Camira is a beauty

If you are coming to Airlie Beach, this experience is not to be missed. The crew were amazing from start to finish, the food was absolutely amazing and open bar (what more do you want). Snorkelling was awesome and Whitehaven beach did not disappoint. SO to Amber for being a class tour guide and super chill. Would definitely recommend this to mates or couples looking to do the Whitsundays

Fun day aboard!

Very clean beautiful boat, lots of crew, incredible food, breakfast, lots of appetizers, and a huge lunch with lots of healthy options. Crew made lots of fun jokes during the safety speeches so we were always having fun. we stopped for snorkeling and had a few hours at white haven. Crew worked very hard and were attentive. They deserve higher wages for their skills, expertise, and experience!

Could not rate it at all

Booked on Tuesday the 19th and confirmed via phone call if they would operate on the Thursday the 21st and all was good to go. On the 20th around 1pm got email canceling because there was industrial action going on or in other words were on strike. No more vacancy on any other vessel as it’s school holidays. Just waisted 16hrs drive for what. Thanks to all. Very professional 👎😡

Amazing experience

We absolutely loved the cruise, enjoyable sailing experience with amazing views, plenty of food and drinks, great value for money. Seeing whales on the way back was a nice surprise. The team are friendly, knowledgeable and fun who definitely deserve to be paid more.

Pay your staff what they deserve!

Always have the best time when we book a tour with Cruise Whitsundays! The crew are always amazing and I recommend to my friends when they come to visit, but after finding out how much their staff get paid- I will no longer be booking tours or recommending to friends, until the staff are paid what they deserve!!

The best cruise in the Whitsundays.

Absolutely LIT, straight fire AF start to finish. Whole day was well organised with great crew, food and the vibe was positive. The captain was hilarious. And let’s not forget the all you can drink and eat is a solid bonus🤣. Couldn’t recommend the purple people eater high enough and will def be back!!

The staff are exceptional

This cruise is fantastic and what makes it so good is it’s amazing staff on board. They’re good fun and really laid back and helpful it made the day go very smoothly. You are extremely well fed and the drinks are flowing all day! The weather wasn’t the best but this didn’t ruin our day as the bottomless food drinks and music kept us happy! Well done to all staff and crew who make this experience what it is! Highly recommend for couples / group of friends or even family
