Fun and relaxing time with great crew

This trip was amazing! All the activities were amazing, especially the snorkelling. Max, Molly, and Milga were a great crew- explained everything well and fun to be around. The beds were what you would expect from a small boat but will pretty comfy. Not exactly a party boat if that’s what you’re looking for but it was loads of fun and very chill. Would highly recommend!

An all round amazing experience!

This is the most fun I have had in a long time! Definitely a must in Airlie Beach and this is absolutely the best boat to be on!! The amazing crew made this experience so special, Kate, Zac and Jona! They were so extremely helpful, enthusiastic and kind people who made sure that everyone had the best time. The sights were unbelievable, the food was delicious, and the snorkelling spots were some of the best I have ever been to! This trip takes you to the perfect spots and I would absolutely recommend this to anyone staying in Airlie Beach. ❤️

Me and my friend had an amazing couple of days on the avatar. I really can’t imagine a better way to experience the whitsundays. We saw beautiful whitehaven, had some really nice snorkeling and saw the best sunsets ever. But it really would not have been the same without the amazing crew. Max, Marie and Kate were really nice and fun to be around. So a big thank you to the crew for making the trip that much better! /Lukas

BEST TIME EVER

We had the best time on Avatar. A big thanks to the crew, Kate, Marie and Max (it was his first time being a skipper and he did a great job). The snorkelling was amazing and I swam with a turtle! All the meals were delicious and I definitely recommend Avatar to anyone considering a boat tour around the Whitsunday Islands!

With an awesome crew to paradise

It was the best time I’ve ever had. The Crew was awesome and it was like a family with them. Kate and Marie‘s cooking skills were incredible and I enjoyed every meal :) The activities were also very interesting and it was so much fun, my personal highlight were the different snorkelling tours (and the turtle), it was amazing!!! Max and the two ladies did a great job, they tried to make everyone feel comfortable and the three of them completely achieved that with each of us! So I would recommend the tour to everyone, it’s better than the clipper boat and more familiar :) Thank you Marie, Kate and Max for the great time and see you! Yannik :)

Amazing trip!!

OMG!! This trip was amazing! Max, Kate and Marie were the best crew we could’ve had, so friendly and accommodating, always making sure we were well looked after. The girls cooked up a storm for us both nights which was absolutely delicious. The activities were amazing and we had such a great time snorkelling and seeing the reef and amazing views of the sunset and stars over the islands. Everything was insane we all had the best time and I’ve made some lovely friends who were also solo travelling!

An absolutely wonderful experience- can’t recommend OzSail enough. We stopped off for snorkelling multiple times, the reef was incredible and the crew made it. The food was great- special mention to Max, Kate and Marie for being so great and making the trip as wonderful as it was!!!!

The most beautiful tour I have ever done. Incredibly nice people, the crew was so great. Max the captain did a fantastic job and the two golden egnel (crew) were fabulous. Just to recommend.

Would do it again!

This was by far my favourite trip and tour travelling the east coast. The crew was so lovely and very friendly. They were really on one level with us and gave their best to make those days the best days possible for us. Molly, Zac and Milga were just amazing and had so much joy to share. We did amazing stuff and the Whitsundays were just incredible! The sleeping situation is in fact interesting, because we were either sleeping in the wings of the catamaran, which could be hard for people who are claustrophobic or in the main part of the catamaran. But honestly that made the sailing even more fun and a really intense and special experience.

This was the most amazing trip. We were made feel so welcome from the beginning by Molly and Jon’s. We then met Milga and our skipper Zack. From the moment we stepped onboard we knew that we were in safe hands. On our first day we arrived at the most beautiful part of the reef. I had never snorkelled before and Molly made sure I felt comfortable and I genuinely had the most amazing experience. The second day we had another amazing snorkelling experience swimming side by side all the wonderful fish. The second night we had the most amazing experience. While we were anchored the dolphins were under the boat and they essentially put on a show for us. It was absolutely incredible. These are memories that will last a life time and will never be topped. Thank you so much to the crew for giving us the most unforgettable time 🥰

Amazing trip

This trip was amazing! We did the 2 Day 2 Night tour with our skipper Arnie and we really had the feeling that he wanted to show us as much as possible. The crew was very kind and we had lots of fun. We snorkelled in very beautiful reefs and also swam with big fish. Definitely recommend this!

10/10 sailing experience

It was the perfect sailing experience on Avatar. The snorkelling was amazing and we saw beautiful dolphins. Molly is like a big sister!!! Cheers guys

Once in a lifetime

I can't even put into words this experience. We had a mix of solo travellers (myself included), couples, friends and a couple of young families. 3 days were spent sailing across the beautiful seas with various spots to swim, snorkel, climb, relax and vibe. Food was fantastic on the boat and they catered to me being veggie very well. The boat needs a bit of love so don't expect a 5* look and be prepared to get very limited sleep (I recommend sleeping on the deck if your back can handle it). It was very hot when I went so we were melting a bit onboard without aircon but worth it. Plugs in the main cabin only so I'd recommend bringing a portable charger. No signal/Wi-Fi though so for photos only! DON'T FORGET SUNCREAM so many of us burnt to a crisp with even factor 50. Watching the stars at night listening to music and being away from everything was truly magical. Overall a lifechanging experience and one I will always giggle about and tell friends/family.

Great way to experience the Whitsundays!

Loved the experience, such an amazing way to enjoy the Whitsundays! The tour provided opportunity to explore the Hills Inlet and snorkelling, and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Avoid at all costs! Boat is a disgrace!

Avoid at all costs!! Book a day trip instead. I recently spent two nights on the Avatar. My 'bed' was located in one of the hulls of the boat. These are extremely snug and felt very claustrophobic. There was no light or ventilation (the fan on the wall was broken) which meant that on the first night my friends and I opted to sleep outside. This was very uncomfortable and I did not get much sleep as a result. On the second night I chose to sleep in the hull in the hope of a better nights sleep than the previous. At first it was okay because I kept the hatch open for a bit of air flow however the weather quickly changed and the rain soon came bucketing down. As a result I had to close the hatch to prevent the rain coming in. This was very hot and stuffy, also difficult to breathe due to the heat. I had no option but to jam a water bottle in between the hatch to keep It ajar for some much needed air. However this meant that rain got in soaking my friend and I throughout the night. To be completely honest this night was a living nightmare with nowhere to go for shelter from the rain. Not to mention the health and safety risks! No sleep was had which meant I then missed out on snorkelling the next day because I was too exhausted!! Not only this but the opening to the main area of the boat was locked as a result of the rain, myself and another passenger desperately tried to open it so that we could use the toilet during the night. We were unsuccessful! This was a massive hazard as had something happened to any of us situated outside of the main area on the outside of the boat, no one would be able to get in to alert the crew! Furthermore there was practically no shade on the outside of the boat which was very dangerous in the high UV. The only option was to go inside and sit in a non air conditioned space, missing out on the views which we'd paid to see! The fact that there is no shower on board except from a hose attached to the sink is not acceptable. We were told frequently that there was not enough water on board and that we were not allowed to shower after being on the sand and in the sea!! This made for a very itchy body and added to the unpleasantness of this whole experience. To be honest I don't think this boat is fit for purpose. I don't know how they’ve got away with this for so long, especially with the price of this trip, it’s not cheap!! Avoid like the plague!! Not an experience I would wish upon anyone. Everything we did on this trip could easily have been completed in a day. Save yourself the money and your sanity!!

Amazing time on Avatar!!

Had a great time on avatar! Our Skipper Arni and his crew were amazing, super organised and always friendly/ fun. They always made sure that everybody's fine and brought us to the most amazing places, Whitehaven beach is just stunning! Definitely can recommend :)

Awful, could not recommend less

The Crew were lovely but overall complete waste of money. The boat is designed to sleep 10 people however there were 24 people on it. I had to share a single bed with 2 other people I just met. There’s no air conditioning so it get upwards of thirty overnight so I couldn’t sleep. The roof hatches leak so all of our stuff got soaked. The boat was full of bugs and cockroaches. The meals were very basic, usually had to make your own sandwiches. Everything we did over 2 days the day trip managed to do in 1. For near on $600, that’s a joke. I am beyond disappointed. After one night, I managed to get back to Airlie beach on a daytrip boat cause it was that bad. I could not recommend this boat less, JUST DO A DAY TRIP

Book another boat...

The whitsunday islands are lovely, but I would not recommend doing an overnight stay on this boat. Of course it's going to be hot in the summer, but when it rains, the boat leaks which means you sleep in wet bedding. Worst of all, on two of the hottest and humid days, we ran out of fresh water. So the 2 night cruise turned into one night at sea and the other attached to the dock. Half the people chose to get off and find other accommodations as they were not happy with the experience. I sent them an email two days ago and they are choosing to not respond. I get weather is outside of their control, but the company should own a leaking boat and running out of fresh water. They do not deliver as promised. Beware...

Amazing trip on Avatar OzSail

Doing the Whitsunday Islands tour with OzSail is one of the best things I’ve ever done! Our crew Max, Amin, Tobias and skipper Sammy made our trip really enjoyable. They made sure we got the most out of the experience and that we had plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful spots that we visited including the mesmerizing Whitehaven Beach. Sammy told us a lot about all the different places that we visited thus making the trip very interactive. The snorkeling was definitely a highlight, and we got to do this 3 times! Amazing experience but not so great boat

The overall experience was amazing and one I would definitely do again, one of my favourites on the east coast for sure. We had one night of rain and one night of sunshine, when it rains the roof leaks into most of the rooms meaning the majority of us were sleeping in soaking beds getting dripped on. Unfortunately due to the boat being small there isn’t much space for everyone to get inside if it does rain and this left the main room very damp and humid where half of the people were sleeping. When it was sunny it was great to lie out on the nets and relax or have a drink listening to the music and socialising. The meals were good with lots of fresh fruit and veg however the standards of the boat weren’t great and pretty unclean. A couple of opportunities to snorkel which everybody loved and a 4 hour stop on the whitsunday island to explore as you please. If I was to redo the Whitsundays I would definitely chose a different boat but I still had a great time!

Definitely one of the best experiences in my life. Amazing snorkeling spots and I really felt like the crew was making an effort to give us the best time. Beautiful views, good food & fun snorkelling

This experience had positives but also a few negatives. The sleeping conditions were awful as there were insects in the beds & also it was so hot and stuffy as theres no A/C so I had to spend both nights sleeping outside which was crowded as most people were doing the same. Also I noticed when we had to take the pillowcases off at end of the trip there was black mold all over my pillow which was very unhygienic. There was only one bathroom between 20 people which was pretty rough. There was no real itinerary for the trip so we felt a bit in the dark when it came to what we were doing for the day & we unfortunately only got to spend 2 hours at Whitehaven beach which was disappointing as it’s so beautiful. Some positives were the amazing views from the boat, the snorkelling (which you do at 3 different locations for the second day) and the food was really good. It was a good experience overall but could use some improvements regarding hygiene & keeping the group informed of what is planned for the day.

All you want to know before you book!

- insects (rampants) in beds - 1 bathroom for 26 people - we ended up sleeping outside the 2 nights because rooms are so tiny and hot - smelly kitchen bins right under your nose when you sleep - if it rains in the middle of the night, your bed is fully wet and they tell you they can't do anything about it - 1.40m long single bed for 2 people - You have to do your own dishes - Boat in a very poor condition - boat could be bearable potentially for a day trip but not suitable to sleep on - no air con, no fan - safety boat only for 8 people and we were 26 on board Would absolutely NOT recommend!

Had a lovely two days on the Avatar with Ty, Maz & Nathan! Some unreal snorkelling spots, yummy food and fabulous beaches. bring a lot of sun cream, warm clothes & hydralyte just because the boat is out in the open. we had so much fun - met some lovely friends on the boat also. Highly recommend

INCREDIBLE

Absolutely incredible trip ! The avatar was a brilliant experience, we got to snorkel around parts of the Great Barrier Reef , visit the gorgeous Whitehaven beach and even saw turtles, stingrays and got a glimpse of a whale ! Molly made some incredible meals while on bord including lots of fresh fruit + veggies ! She also showed us the best snorkel spots so we made the most out of our experience ! zac was very knowledgeable on the boat and kept us all safe while we had fun and carter gave us a great tour around Whitehaven beach, and gave us lots of history about the area ! Can’t fault ! Thanks guys !!!

A dream experience

We were on Avatar from the 14/10/2023. Everything was perfect from the staff to the snorkelling. The staff made sure we were never bored from playing guitar and starting a sing a long to having a laugh with us. The food was unbelievable (shout out to Siobhan) and will definitely return in the future to do it all over again!

Great trip but staff lacking

Did two nights on the avator boat starting on the 14th and had a pretty good time. Food was fantastic and tailored well for veggies/vegans. Boat was fairly clean, comfy beds but thin pillows. Toilets were pretty good considering you're on a boat. Did some good snorkeling and saw the amazing white sand. Staff was hit/miss, could be pretty rude/blunt at times and didn't make a huge effort to engage with the group. Lack of communion was a big issue - we got told to hurry up getting ready the first morning as "we're leaving in a few minutes" but nobody told us this before? We werent given a time to wake up, or when to be ready for. We just thought we'd wake up, have breakfast then be told the plan. On the final day, the water got turned off before we docked, but we weren't given a heads up that this was going to happen and people were about to refill their bottles and go to the toilet. When someone asked for more cornflakes in the morning, the staff rolled their eyes and huffed to get more. On the first night, there were both vegan & veggie burgers in the same pan (cross contamination there) we weren't told which was which and one of the vegans ended up eating a veggie burger, not a vegan one. Trip is definitely what you make it, very easy to have a good time but the staffs attitude did let it down, very much seemed like they didn't want to be there.

The crew were amazing made the experience 10x better, Sammy was hilarious and really made sure everyone was comfortable as well as having a great time. The whole crew were professional, kept everything steady and safe. The food was also amazing! Would definitely do it again.

Absolute best value Whitsunday cruise!

The last few glorious days of our NQ holiday we’re spent sailing the Whitsunday Islands aboard AVATAR. It was the most magic few days, seeing lots of whales and their calves, Dolphins playing with our bow waves, Sea Eagles visiting out boat, incredible snorkelling on uncrowded reefs and beaches where I swam with a turtle!! . Spectacular early morning walks to be the first in the water at Hill Inlet to see the stingrays…… it was perfection! 🤗 We had a lovely group on our trip (much younger than us but it didn’t matter!) and our Skipper Dave and Crew Tom and Carys went above and beyond to make our trip fun, safe and interesting. The food was plentiful and delicious!! Incredible value trip ❤️❤️❤️

A once in a lifetime experience

An unforgettable experience! This was my favourite experience of the east coast! The boat was in great condition, the beds were comfy and the shower and toilet facilities were great considering it’s a smaller unit! The skipper and deck hands - hats off to you! You made the experience fantastic. The meals cooked were delicious and homely with fresh fruit available for breakfast. Thanks to Dave, Tom and Carys for making the experience amazing. I loved being on the boat and the trips planned were amazing. They know all the top spots and timings so we had the whitehaven beach to ourselves! They are also very knowledgeable and look after you very well and will encourage you to do things you may be scared to! Greatly appreciated all the effort that went into making my experience one to remember!

Great time sailing

Dave, our skipper, is a legend! The crew was friendly, experienced and had it all under control the whole time. We had 2,5 days of fun. Passengers were way younger than us, but a great group of people. We were the first at the Whitsundays, which made it special, beijng just our group, no footprints on the sand, just beautiful. Special mention to Max who cooked our meals and they were hearty and delicious food. All we really needed after a day swimming or tracking at the whitsundays. Only down point was the weather, which meant we got a tropical storm when we got to the Whitsundays. Which was a shame, as we couldn't see the water with the picture perfect blue colours. Still, was a great walk around the area and even with a cloudy sky, still beautiful. Thanks for the great time, will have some great memories from this adventure.

Family fun on Avatar

Exceptional few days away with my family. The trip itself was great and we met some fab people along the way but what made the trip exceptional were the skip, Zak and the deck hands Maz and Fern. What fabulous human beings and real good role models for our 2 teenagers who we brought along with us on this adventure. Thanks so much guys 🙌 You rocked! Callum still going in about Zak’s guitar and singing skills 💪

The superb Whitsundays trip on the Avatar

Incredible experience, the crew is just amazing! I met a lot of really funny and crazy people on this boat, it was just about having fun all together. They brought us to the best places such as the breathtaking Whitehaven beach in the morning or even snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef. I recommend it to all people who love adventure, sunrise/sunset and seeing a lot of wonderful fishes. Thanks a lot for this trip, you guys are legends!!

Best trip I had in Australia

A trip I can definitely recommend for everyone who wants to see the Whitsundays! I‘ve been in Australia for almost 10 months now and this really is my favorite trip. The crew Dave, Fer and Carys were all great but I want to give a special shoutout to Carys. She was so nice and everyone could see how much she was working and that she really loves her job. She wanted everyone to have a good time and to be safe. The food ,which was freshly cooked was super delicious (10/10). The people on the boat were great. We had a lot of fun together and we enjoyed our time on board. I‘m very happy we chose Avatar with Oz Sail. One of the highlights was that we got to be the first and also only ones on the famous Whitehaven Beach. The snorkeling also was amazing and we saw so many different kinds of fish and we‘ve also seen a lot of turtles during our trip. Over all I just can say that this trip was amazing and I will never forget it. Definitely choose Avatar above other boats! The people on board will make sure that you‘re having a good time.

Best boat trip ever

Best boat trip ever - even in the rain! Amazing experience with the best crew members - Zack, Milga and Casper. We had 3 snorkelling experiences, and had a full morning to explore Whitehaven Beach. Food on the boat was delicious, 10/10. The skipper even managed to dock in one spot for us to be able to snorkel with amazing fish. Would definitely recommend this experience! 10/10.
